Hands in pockets with stupid grins on their faces, Deeks and Kensi don't know exactly what to say to each other next. There are a lot of things, complicated things, that they've needed to discuss for months but have been able to avoid due to being on completely different continents. But now Kensi is back, and for all intents and purposes appears to be good, even though Deeks has his suspicions that a lot of her 'good' is her ability to put on a brave front for everybody to see. They haven't spoken much about what she experienced, but he knows enough to know that it wasn't easy on her and it will leave an impact for a while.

A lot of things can be said with their eyes, and they've had plenty of conversations in the past without ever saying a word. Trying to break their nonverbal eye communication, Kensi squints and peers around her past, present, and future partner to look at the rest of their teammates. "I think they're talking about us."

Raising an eyebrow, Deeks stays facing Kensj instead of being obvious and turning around. "Well you're supposed to be the lip-reader, what are they saying?"

"They're going to notice me watching them and stop talking, you know."

Deeks rolls his eyes. "You're back at work now, as an undercover agent. So act like it. Maybe you need the practice," he teases.

"Whatever Deeks," Kensi replies, puckering her lips to hide the smile threatening to cover her face. "Eric says he's glad to have Nell back. That you and I belong together."

"He's not wrong."

"It was one day, I couldn't have been that annoying," Kensi mutters. Deeks opens his mouth to comment but she interrupts him. "Shut up. Callen is saying he's glad to have the team back together."

"Boring."

Kensi chuckles. "Sam said he hopes you stop walking around like a lost puppy dog." She tilts her head at him. "Is that true?"

Deeks turns on his heel, spinning away from his partner to look in Sam's direction. "He didn't say that."

"Oh but he did," Kensi says, laughing.

Clearing his throat, Deeks crosses his arms defensively. "I don't think I need to tell you that this hasn't been easy. But I've done a pretty damn good job, all things considered."

Mimicking his stance, Kensi moves to stand shoulder to shoulder with Deeks. "Do they know?"

"Know what?" Deeks looks at her innocently; she returns a pointed look. "I haven't said anything, but they're not stupid."

"No, they're not." Kensi sighs, not wanting to say anything that would start the inevitable conversation she and her partner need to have about their thing. Judging by Deeks' silence, he feels the same way. Talking about it the day after it happened would have been slightly awkward already; waiting over four months to talk about has made it just downright impossible. "You think they bought the fake awkward coffee thing this morning?"

"Fake?" Deeks asks, incredulous. "There was nothing fake awkward about it. I called you and told you I'd pick up coffee for everybody but you stopped on your own anyway."

"Well it's been awhile, I wanted to make sure I got the right coffee."

Frowning slightly, Deeks tilts his head at her. "But did I forget what you wanted?"

"No...no, you definitely remembered." Kensi tilts her head back at him, eyes suddenly a little wider than before.

Deeks clears his throat. "Yeah. So. You ready to get out of here, partner?"

"Yeah," Kensi responds wistfully. "It's been a long time since we left this place together."

"I seem to remember us planning to eat tacos the last time, yeah?" Deeks smirks at her as he walks towards his desk.

"Yeah, and I'm still waiting on those tacos..." Kensi teases, grabbing her bag from her desk.

"Tacos?" Callen's ears perk up. "I could eat tacos."

Kensi and Deeks share an amused look. "Uhhhhh..." Deeks says, scratching his head.

"Not tonight," Kensi breaks in quickly.

"Oh," Callen and Deeks speak in unison.

"Don't you have a date anyway, G?" Sam asks his partner, scowling.

"Wait what?" Kensi looks around, confused.

"I'm sure Joelle wouldn't mind a double date," Callen answers with an evil glint in his eyes.

"Who is-" Kensi is interrupted by Deeks grabbing her arm, pulling her down the hall towards the exit.

"G'night guys!" Deeks calls out behind them, pulling Kensi outside.

Kensi pulls out her keys, still confused. "Who is Joelle?"

"She's kinda his girlfriend."

"What."

"Yup."

"Seriously."

"Seriously," Deeks answers, pulling his own keys out as they approach their cars.

Leaning against her car, Kensi crosses her hands in front of her. "Huh. I guess I've missed a lot."

"You have missed a lot," Deeks says. "And you've been missed a lot."

Kensi smiles and blinks her eyes rapidly. "I've missed you, too."

"Wow, you've missed me, not us guys, or having someone to pick on, but me?" Deeks grins.

"How about I've missed all the above?" Kensi replies, grinning back.

Still smiling, Deeks shrugs. "I'll take it." He kicks the tire of her Cadillac nervously. "So...what now?"

"Even though I literally did nothing all day, I'm actually really tired, Deeks," Kensi says apologetically.

Deeks nods, hiding his disappointment well. "Nah that's cool. I'll uh, see you tomorrow then? Partner?"

"Definitely." Pushing off of her car with her foot, Kensi slowly wraps her arms around his waist and lays her head against his chest. "Thank you."

"What for?" Deeks asks, returning her hug by wrapping his arms around her shoulders.

"Just being here."

Subtly running his nose through her hair, Deeks brushes his lips across her temple. "No where else I'd rather be."
