Chapter 20
But she couldn't go. An S-Class mission would take at least a day or two if it was an easy one. It was Thursday, already, and they would leave for their vacation the coming afternoon. As soon as Lisanna will come back from her little excursion, they'd be on their way to the spa. Besides, she was all sore and worn from the night before. Therefore she had to decline Natsu's offer.
The grin on his face disappeared within a break of a second and his tensed shoulders collapsed upon rejection. It was not an inviting sight to see him disappointed.
"Tell you what, Natsu, as soon as I'll get back, I'll cook you a great dinner to make up for it" Mirajane tried to cheer him up.
"Nah, it's okay. Maybe I'll ask Erza" Natsu turned his head to look for the redheaded girl. For unknown reasons, it was enraging that Mira was so easily replaced. Of course, the fire mage did not intend to hurt her feelings. So it wasn't his fault. And yet, it was present. The humiliation of being replaced by Erza Scarlet was a present pain.
"No, it's not okay, Flamebrain! When I'll get back, I'll take you on the most dangerous S-Class mission there is!" The white-haired barmaid grabbed the boy by his chin to have him face her eye to eye. Inside her eyes, a fire was burning. A gloomy mist surrounded her and not a single person would dare to contradict.
"Ok" Natsu managed to let the word slip out from between his lips. It was hard to speak when a demon girl had a tight grasp on one's jaw.
"Mira-Nee, you're hurting poor Natsu" Lisanna commented on the scene.
"Aren't you supposed to be on a mission?" Mirajane simply turned to give her sister a vicious glare that had her swallow up and leave right out of the guild doors. "Have fun out there!"
On the next day, Mirajane was all packed and waited in the guild for Lisanna to return from her mission. Lucy was sitting with her because the Take-Over mage invited her, too. Her little sister and the blonde have come to be very good friends and it would triple the fun with her around.
"Thank you so much, Mira, I don't know how long it had been, since I've been on a calm vacation without any guys" Lucy said and checked her clock. "When's Lisanna gonna be back, did she say?"
"I don't think she'd need so much time to fulfill that simple mission. Perhaps something happened to her which delayed her return…" Mira was staring at the ceiling and thought about different scenarios.
"You don't think something bad happened, do you?" Lucy was worried about her friend.
"What? No! I was thinking that she might have met a cute guy!" the older sister said.
"Maybe you're right" and just as Lucy calmed down, Lisanna walked through the guild doors. She didn't seem to be in a very good mood, though. Her clothes were wet and her hair a mess.
"Don't even ask about what happened to me. I had to race like lightning to catch my train…" she spoke and checked out the luggage, Mira had packed for both of them. "I really need to change into dry clothes…"
After the younger Take-Over mage emptied the whole suitcase to find something nice to wear, she disappeared into the guild's bathroom. Lucy and Mira looked at each other and shrugged. They tried their hardest not to think of the craziest stories that could have happened to Lisanna. Instead, they thought it was best to wait and let her tell it all.
When she got back out, her face was smiling again and everyone was ready to head out to the resort in the mountains. The girls boarded a train right back to where Lisanna had just arrived from. It was something that reminded her of the events of her mission which also brought back her raging emotions.
"What? The spa is in those mountains? I could have just stayed and meet you there" she complained.
"Oh sorry, I didn't know that your mission was way up here. Would it not have been easier to just have Sabertooth do the mission? They're the closest guild…" Mira just smiled and wondered.
"Well, the client loves Fairy Tail and since we've won the Grand Magic Games, people would pay twice as much just to have us do the job. I got like 50 000 jewels for retrieving some gemstone out of the mountains. It was protected by a vile animal, nothing I couldn't handle, though" Lisanna started to talk about her mission and looked out of the window like a young girl, excited to see the world.
"Why were you so wet, when you got back?" Lucy now dared to raise the question.
"There was this guy…" Lisanna spoke.
"Oh and he got you all wet? Must have been one hell of a good-looking man" Mira teased her sister.
"No, it's not like that. I fell into a lake" the younger sister blushed in embarrassment because in the shelter of her private mind, she did think he was good-looking.
"Why'd you fall into a lake?" Lucy wondered.
"Well, because the guy was blinding hot and Lisanna couldn't take her eyes off" Mirajane kept her mean spirit alive.
"No, I was chased by the wild animal and dropped the gemstone into the lake. Then I dived in and searched for it. The guy fished me out of the lake with his rod and when he realized that I was not edible, he dropped me back into the water!" Lisanna spoke really fast to prevent anyone from interrupting her story.
"And that's one very credible story, little sis. It's kind of like you know: once upon a time, a young woman was minding her own business when the dazzling king of some foreign land showed up and knocked her out with a wooden staff" Mirajane tried to find an analogically stupid story.
"Didn't Mystogan put a sleeping curse on all of us whenever he entered the guild to pick a request?" The blonde interpreted Mirajane's awkward tale.
"Exactly, it's like: What the hell? He's so mysterious, I wonder what he's doing now…" The eldest of the group thought about one of Fairy Tail's former members.
"Well, he's the king of some foreign land" Lucy said.
"I mean what is he doing there? Is he thinking about us, too? Or maybe he fucks around with the Erza over there. I wonder about whether my counterpart has a boyfriend by now" Mirajane's curiosity had taken her totally off the topic.
"She probably does, Mira-nee! My sister over there is a well-mannered and gentle woman. She has plenty of self-control. Why is it that we're talking about Edolas?" Lisanna wondered and then attempted to change the topic. Especially because she knew, that her siblings over there did not have a baby sister, anymore. It still aches in the heart like it was only yesterday.
"I don't know, but we're almost there" Mirajane calmly said and looked out of the window. The cheeky girl that she was just a minute ago vanished and a thoughtful girl surfaced.
After checking into the hotel, the girls rushed into their luxurious suite to let themselves weightlessly fall onto the soft cushions of their super comfortable beds. They inspected every single room of the magnificent abode and drooled over the room service menu. Everything was paid for by Mirajane's reward for slaying one demon.
As soon as they finished racing through their weekend stay, Lucy and Lisanna wanted to find out about the relaxing facilities. According to the flyer, the all-inclusive package included usage of the pool, the sauna, free massages, manicures, pedicures, facials, hair and anything a girl likes to have done. Therefore, Lucy and Lisanna quickly changed into their bathing suits and urged Mira to hurry up and do the same.
Downstairs at the poolside, the girls were lazily chilling on the benches and sipped on their cocktails. There were also men relaxing at the spa. One particular guy caught Lisanna's stare. Hence, she moved close to Lucy's ear and whispered: "That's him. The guy who fished me out of the water!"
"What, who?" Lucy peeked over to random guys and tried to remain inconspicuous. When her eyes wandered around the place, she saw a dark haired guy with quite the perfect body. "Do you mean him?"
"No, the other one. With his legs in the pool!" Lisanna pointed with her finger.
"The blond one?" Lucy saw another handsome man and somehow, he was very familiar. When thinking about it, even the dark haired boy was familiar. "I think I've seen them somewhere before!"
"Now that you mention it, I do have the same feeling… hm… let me think" Lisanna struggled to retrieve the appropriate memories. "It doesn't matter, though. They're hot and me want a piece!"
Both girls giggled when Mirajane closed in to ask what they were talking about. A pair of curious hazel eyes and a pair of innocent blue eyes looked right into hers and moved over to the opposite end of the pool. Mira followed their gaze and instantly detected the handsome men.
"I want the one with the dark hair, Lisanna gets the blonde and now we'll have to find one for you, too!" Lucy explained the situation.
"Aren't they the twin dragons from Sabertooth? What were their names again?" Mira wondered.
