Chapter 20
****Hayden's/Jake's Hotel Room****
(Hayden was totally confused at Carlos' comment. Why the hell would he be here to see her? Especially when she had nothing to do with Jake's part in Julian Jerome's business? She turns her head slightly and narrows her eyes at Carlos)
Hayden: "What is it exactly that you want, Carlos?"
Carlos: (smirks) "It's what we can do for each other, Hayden."
(He walks towards her, causing her to back up. He shuts the door behind him. He keeps his sultry eyes on her, causing her to look at him weirdly)
Hayden: "You DO know that I'm married, right? To your coworker?"
Carlos: (shrugs) "What's your point?"
Hayden: (laughs in disbelief) "I'm married! That's the point! Do you honestly think I'm going to cheat on my husband with you? You are sadly mistaken."
(Carlos laughs at her statement, causing her to look at him funny. She shakes her head and raises her hands to her sides)
Hayden: "What could possibly be so funny about that, Rivera?"
Carlos: (tilts his head) "You 'being married' didn't stop you from trying to seduce Nikolas Cassadine, now did it?"
(At the Metro Court, Kyle Sloane is in his hotel room when he takes out his cell phone. He dials a number and waits for the person on the other end of the line to pick up. Sloane sighs deeply when it goes to voicemail)
Sloane: (rolls his eyes) "Jake, it's Sloane. Why aren't you picking up your phone? We need to talk. Call me immediately."
(Sloane presses 'end' before putting his hands on his hips)
Sloane: "Where the hell are you, Barnes?"
***General Hospital***
(Felix looks at Elizabeth sympathetically. He felt bad for his friend whenever she was down in the dumps. He looks around and doesn't see anyone around, so he leads her to a bench by the elevator. After getting comfortable, he sighs)
Felix: "Talk to me, Webber."
(She shrugs sadly as she didn't want to burden her friend with her problems)
Liz: "Are you sure you want to know? I wouldn't blame you if you wanted to run for the hills?"
Felix: (smiles) "We're friends. Friends are always there for each other. Now spill."
Liz: (chuckles) "Okay. You asked."
(Elizabeth sighs as she looks down in shame. Felix offers her comfort by patting her shoulder. She finally faces Felix)
Liz: "Jake and I kissed."
(Felix briefly shakes his head as he shrugs his shoulders in confusion)
Felix: "I don't see the problem with that. You two have done this song and dance for a while now. It's obvious you two are crazy about each other."
Liz: (raises her eyebrows) "There is a problem, Felix. I'm currently with Ric."
Felix: (weirdly) "Lansing? When did that happen? Last time I heard, you were thinking of giving him another chance."
Liz: (shrugs) "In the end, I decided to. This was before Jake and I kissed, though."
(Felix couldn't resist his next comment. He raises his eyebrows and smirks)
Felix: "Was the kiss good? Between you and Barnes, I mean?"
(Elizabeth couldn't help the slight laugh at Felix's sneaky question)
Liz: "Are you serious? Felix!"
Felix: (shrugs & raises his hands) "What? I know you both feel something for each other. It's obvious the way you two act around each other. I know he's technically married to that Hayden woman and you're with Lansing, but anyone with eyes can see the spark between you and Jake."
(He folds his arms and leans back slightly)
Felix: "Why DID you decide to give Lansing another chance? You told me your history with the guy. No offense, girl, but he doesn't exactly sound reliable for telling the truth."
(Elizabeth puts a strand of hair that was in her face behind her ear as she speaks)
Liz: "I had the same concerns and I told him that."
Felix: "His answer must have been convincing."
Liz: (smiles slightly) "He said he loves me and vowed to never keep another secret from me. He did sound convincing."
(serious tone) "I told him this was his last chance and he understood."
Felix: "Let's hope he keeps his word."
(She sighs deeply as she rests her face in the palm of her hands and with her elbows rested on her thighs. She then faces her friend)
Liz: "Oh, Fe, my life is such a mess."
Felix: (raises his eyebrows) "There's more?"
Liz: (shrugs) "Earlier, Jake and I said we loved each other before we kissed."
Felix: (nods) "You're right, girl. Your life is a mess. You're with one guy while in love with another." (shrugs) "What are you going to do?"
Liz: (sighs) "I wish I knew. But being Jake is married and unavailable, I want to give Ric a chance as I told him I would."
Felix: "You better hope he keeps his word with the 'no secrets'."
(At Sam's penthouse, she is currently pacing around her living room. She places her hands on her chin as she thinks out loud)
Sam: "Dad wasn't sure if Jake was remembering anything at the garage. When I was with Jake, he looked like he was remembering something even though he didn't come out and say it. With the way he's been acting lately, I think he is having flashes." (sighs) "I don't know why, but I feel the need to help him. He's my friend...even though dad and Patrick don't know why." (nods in determination) "We're friend so I'm sure he'll open up."
(She takes a seat on the couch as she continues to think out loud)
Sam: "I know something is going on with him. The way he's been acting..." (nods) "I'll find out."
(In the park, Jake is walking when he hears his phone beep. He takes it out of his jean pocket to see that he got a missed call from Sloane)
Jake: (confused) "He's back in town?"
(Jake doesn't watch where he's going when he runs into someone)
Jake: "Oh, my god. I'm sorry. I didn't mean..."
(Jake is at a loss for words when he sees who he bumped into)
Jake: (clears his throat) "Ric." (smiles politely) "Hello."
Ric: (smiles) "Hello, Jake."
