Hey guys, Sorry it took so long. Hope you love it! Please leave lots of comments! Really sorry about the errors earlier, I just copied and pasted hoping it would work. Enjoy!

Only three days after Miles and Rachel had shown up they decided a day scouting the town and the perimeter would be best. Leaving Charlie and Bass alone for the entire day. "I'll leave before the sun rises and probably won't return until the next morning."

"l'll be fine, bring back plenty to eat." After Miles and Rachel's departure the next morning Charlie awoke to a smiling Bass. "Good morning, how is he?"

"Hungry, and since when is our child a he? I am sure its a girl." she teased

"I am sure you are right. I would be happy either way." He kissed her again, with the slightest bit of extra urgency. He climbed on top of her while keeping his lips firmly pressed against hers. And in an instant she was up. She jumped out from under him and ran across the hall where he could hear her throwing up. The morning sickness had not been too bad, but he had hoped it was over with. He stood up and walked over to the bathroom door.

"I'm gonna go make you something to eat. Any requests?"

"No, anything really."

"Alright, I hope you feel better." She nodded in understanding and Bass moved down the stairs.

Even downstairs he could hear her. He sighed, when would it be over? Noticing the eggs and bits of meat Miles had left behind Bass moved to the oven to fry them. Only moments later he heard the footfall of Charlie.

"In the kitchen." Bass yelled.

Charlie turned in and scoffed. "I don't know why but I assumed you would be in the kitchen when you told me you were going to get me food."

"You didn't think I would be going to the bathroom for that.

"No. I did not think you were going to the bathroom, but the living room must be stockpiled with food." she joked.

"So, what are we going to do today?" Bass asked

"We could stay in all day, we could go for a picnic, we could go back into town or even go hunting this afternoon. All of a sudden Bass' hands, including the one holding the spatula, hit the counter hard.

He braced his fists against the counter as he hissed, "How many times fo I have to tell you yuo can't do anything strenuous." "Bass I." But she couldn't get the words out.

"Dont say that. Are you determined to destroy this haven we have, do you want to lose our child?" He couldn't see straight, all he could think about was the baby and everything that was probably going wrong. His face took on this look of disbelief and denial. He moved past Charlie and back up the stairs. Charlie collapsed into the nearest chair and let the tears pour.

After nearly an hour Bass could still hear the sobbing. "This isn't helping her or the baby." he thought to himself. He hauled himself off the bed and moved back down the stairs. As he turned into the kitchen he halted, she looked terrible. Her hair was in front of her face, she was leaned over shaking, and the puddle of tears on the floor grew larger every second. "Charlie." At her name she bolted upright, threw her hair back and stood up. "I'm sorry about earlier. I really didn't mean what I said." Charlie bumped him as she moved to the living room, anything to get away from him.

He followed her into the living room. She held up her hand. "Don't start. You meant every word that came out of your mouth and I know you stand by them. You see me as not fit to carry 'your' child."

"That is not it at all. Charlie, I am afraid of everything. Do you know what I see in this house, in the grass outside, in the food you eat? I see harm in everything. There are a million ways for this house to hurt you. You could fall on the stairs, the ceiling could come down, the furniture may break, outside you could slip on the grass or trip over something. My every thought is fear for you and our I have fears too. Okay."

"You are not the only one that worries. Do you know what my greatest fear is? Its that...that I won't be a good...mother. And do you think it helps when you say things like 'do you want to lose our child'?"

"Charlotte. I didn't mean it I'm sorry. But do you know who you are talking to? You are talking to the father that couldn't even welcome his first child into the world and hs epically failed his older son. I have never even seen my son and I am the reason his mother is dead. You will win mother of the year award, everytime standing next to me." he said with a chuckle. She turned back to him with a tear-soaked face. He smiled. She ran to him and fastened her arms around his back, burying her face in his chest.

Bass picked her up and carried her to their room where they wasted the rest of the day in each others arms. "I never want to be seperated from you, Bass." Little did she know the platoon that would do just that was closing in on their little homestead.
