Crossing the town line is not as simple as it seems. He felt his ears boom and his mind snap into a confused state of mind which he could not explain.
The first thing saw was his mother pouring him a cup of water when he was a child. Then it changed to him and Milah kissing in his room in the Jolly Rodger. Then he saw himself collecting clean water with a canteen. The images continued to wiz by. Regina and him dancing. Running in the hospital. Living in Neverland. Climbing trees with his brother. Smee and the pirates. The Crocodile. The King. Climbing Mountains. Painting. His Hook. Regina. Driving. Dancing. Sword fighting. Reading maps. Regina. Talking with Baelfire. Fishing for food of the decks. Sailing. Regina. His brief romance with Emma Swan. His sister, Isa. Father. Dream shade. Stars. Buttoning up a vest as he got ready to wake up. Regina. Cora Mills ripping out his heart. Baby's scans. Stabbing the Dark One. Drinks. Dinner at Granny's. Regina. Regina. Regina.
All of these things flashing though his head in a matter of seconds made a zing run through his head. He felt his skin tingle with magic and his ears rung with the sound of a boom as they broke through the town line.
He slammed his foot down on the break as soon as he regained the ability to move his legs. The wheels of Regina's Benz screeched as it skidded down the straight street. He fell back as the car stopped moving and closed his eyes for a moment. He opened his eyes a little to see Regina leaning over. "Regina!" He yelled as he tried to free himself from the pesky set belt.
He ended up taking a pocket knife out of his leather over coat and slicing through the pesky belt. Straps cut loose flopped open allowing him to pass through where they had once restrained him. The door swung open and Killian tumbled out onto the ground. Tripping on his feet, he tried to walk over to the passenger side of the car. The door was ripped open and Regina's limp body leaned out into the open. He gasped as he caught her head, checking her neck for a pulse.
It was there,
but it was faint.
"No..."
He shook her shoulder gently, but it had no effect. "Regina." he whispered. "Regina get up." He said more urgently. He shook her more violently while talking again. "Regina get up!" He stopped shaking her, but she remained limp. He caressed her face gently, feeling her cool paler than usual skin under his nearly numb fingers. The cold air made it hard to breath, his lungs starting to burn a little.
He suddenly resolved to kiss her hard on the lips, slowly finding her lips beginning to move to meet his movements. He released her lips and felt her warm breath softly on his chin. He waited a minute for her to think before asking questions. Then he spoke. "Regina, are you okay?"
She took in a few heavy breaths before speaking. "I..." She began before stopping. He saw her eyes beginning to open slightly, the moonlight reflecting off of them to create a shine. He noticed her eyes darting around her surrounding area.
"Yes." He need her to continue.
"I'm... going..." She trailed of very softly where he could no longer make out the words as she spoke them. He moved his hand to her cold hands. He suddenly wished that he had brought gloves when he felt her fingers, which were as cold as ice.
"What? Regina talk louder, I can't hear you." He said hopelessly holding her head upright.
Brown eyes flew open and stared straight into his blue ones. Her voice raised louder and deeper. "I am going to kill you."
"What?"
She shuffled a bit sitting up and unbuckling her seat belt. "You hurt my car. I told you, if you hurt my Benz, I would kill you."
He stared at her blankly watching her smirk in the moonlight. She slowly stood up, stretching her sore muscles that she had not used since she became sick, cracking all of her sore limbs. She bent down to be at his level and pushed him gently on the chest, causing him to lean back. "You cut the set belts on my car." She whispered into his ear. She made her way to his lips and captured them while she eased him the rest of the way down to the black top of the street, pinning him so he couldn't move. "Got you." She smiled. His hands gripped her waist holding her in place.
He then slowly rolled her over, not to injure their baby. Placed his legs on either side of her body. "No I got you." He said chuckling as he allowed his hands to roam her perfect body stopping at the swell of her stomach. He felt the soft, silky material of the shirt she changed into sliding as he moved his hands around. "I take it you feel better."
"I haven't felt better in a long time."
"How is our baby?"
"She is doing wonderful." she said with a smile.
"So what do we do now."
"We have seen one part of the world. The small town in Maine, where I have called home for so long, is just a small corner of this world." She explained as she lied on her back staring at the night sky. "The people of this world have increased their knowledge of mathematics and science because there is no magic. They have made wonderful inventions that neither of us would have dreamed of seeing in the Enchanted Forest or Neverland. Each place has different types of people with different beliefs and customs. Yet were are all still human."
"That doesn't answer my question."
"I am saying that we can go anywhere. The world is open to new people everywhere."
"I don't care where we go as long as i am with you."
He awoke with the chirping birds of the morning. He slowly opened is eyes to see the bright morning sun streaming in through the windshield of Regina's Benz into the leather back seats of the car where the two slept for the past two nights.
Currently sitting in a dodgy parking of a market that the glowing sign said was called Walmart. The long days of driving had brought them to the state of Tennessee. They had agreed to move south to where it was warmer. They had heard of a city that Emma had talked about at her wedding to Neal. Tallahassee. It sounded pleasant, the way she described it with fond memories. And through records Regina had spoke of, Emma had stayed there longer than any other place in the past twelve years. So they agreed that it would be best to move there.
He looked around for a moment, moving around a little, but not enough to wake his sleeping wife who was snuggled in his arms. He nuzzled in chin into her hair. He loved the sent of her hair, a combination of sweet berries and apples. He held her a little closer, bringing her body closer to him and ran his thumb over her soft hand.
Soon she woke, moving a little and breathing heavily. She waited a minute and looked up into his opened eyes to check to see if he was awake. Her suspicion of him being awake was confirmed and she spoke. "Good morning."
"Morning Love."
She sat up and stretched her arms upward popping her joints and stretching her muscles. "We need to get going soon if you want to get their by sun down."
"Can we just sit here a little longer?"
"No we need to go."
"Pleeeaaase?"
"Stop whining Killian!"
"But do we need to leave now?"
"Yes! Yes we do! Now," she snapped as she grabbed his arm to pull his arm to get him up, "get up and-"
He kissed her hard on the lips surprising her until she leaned into the kiss allowing him to slide his tongue between her lips. He weaved his hands into hair pulling her closer. They moved in together slowly and passionately until they parted for air and continued as they nipped at each other's lips.
Soon they parted and smiled lightly at each other. She gasped a little and touched her stomach lightly. "Feel here." She said grabbing his hand and moving it to the spot on her stomach. Slight thumps hit his hands and he smiled feeling his baby move around.
"I love her already."
"I love her too..." she said as she pushed her forehead against his. They sat for a moment. "We really need to get going."
"Alright then. Lets get going then." He said as she snuck another kiss from her before moving into the front seat of the car.
"Next stop, Tallahassee."
