Stephanie slept soundly all night only waking up when there was a constant banging on her hotel room door. Groaning she reluctantly sat up and wiped her eyes before she climbed out of bed to see who the hell it was as Paul lay there and just watched her prepared to dive out of bed and attempt to hide if he had to.
Hobbling over to the door she looked through the peep hole to see Dwayne stood on the other side, leaning on the wall for support and to hide the luggage behind her she opened the door a fraction, "hi."
Dwayne chuckled at her clearly dishevelled appearance, "good morning, I'm sorry if I woke you. I did go by Paul's room first to ask if you had a lift to Smackdown but he's either at the gym or dead to the world as he didn't answer so I was wondering, do you need a lift to Smackdown?"
Aware that herself and Paul were meant to be keeping a low profile and people weren't supposed to know that they were still close, talking and potentially still together she knew that they should make their own way to Smackdown and not wanting to go with her Dad this was the perfect opportunity. Smiling softly she nodded her head, "I do need a lift, normally I'd go with my Dad or Paul but neither of those options are really open and I'd not put any thought in how to get there."
"Well I'm going down to the gym and then I'm going to grab some breakfast before I set off so if you want a lift you could meet me for breakfast in about an hour or so and I'll give you a lift."
Raising her eyebrow a little she was sceptical, "are you trying to kiss up for some reason?"
Laughing he shook his head, "no, well sort of. It's just that I feel guilty about hurting your knee last night and I wanted to offer my chauffeur services to make up for it."
She was okay with him feeling guilty as it meant she had an excuse to travel with someone to Smackdown, "I'm okay with that, thank you. I will see you downstairs in about an hour."
Smiling softly he nodded his head before he headed off to the gym to get a workout in before he left for Smackdown.
As soon as Dwayne had left Stephanie shut her hotel room door again and turned around hobbling back towards the bed, "that was close."
Sitting up in bed Paul patted beside him so she would join him again, "I heard he went by my room, he thinks I was fast asleep and just didn't hear him though so I think we've gotten away with it."
Taking her place back beside him she nodded her head, "for today. Will we be able to get away with it again though?"
"I don't know, we can hope. I would guess that because I have been so funny with the guys that they wouldn't come looking for me anyway. Maybe next week if we're going to share a room again we should share mine just to make it more even."
He spoke a lot of sense and it was the right thing to do so she nodded her head, "I think you mean when we share a room again next week but sure, I think that is a good idea. For now though I need to go and shower as I have a breakfast date with my chauffeur for the day."
Pouting playfully he didn't like the idea of her having any sort of date with anyone, "can you not call it a date please? It hurts my feelings."
Patting his cheek gently with her hand she felt sorry for him, "awww poor baby. I'm sorry, I won't call it a date again but it doesn't mean I don't have to get ready."
Nodding his head he tapped his lips gently with his finger, "you can in a minute."
Sliding an arm around his neck she pulled him closer pressing a passionate kiss to his lips before she slowly pulled back from the kiss and rested her forehead on his, "I love you."
Moving his hand to her cheek he stroked it gently with his thumb, "I love you too."
Watching as he pulled away she knew he was silently giving her permission to go and shower, "I hope you'll still be here when I'm done."
Nodding his head he had no plans to leave just yet, "I will, you can't get rid of me that easily."
Laughing she got up from the bed and went to take a shower.
Fifteen minutes later and she hobbled out of the bathroom having had a nice shower to see Paul still in the same place that she had left him, "when you said you weren't leaving I wasn't expecting you to still be in bed."
Shrugging his shoulders he didn't see the need to get out of bed so he didn't, "why get out of bed when there was no need to? I was going to use your shower and you were in it so I couldn't so I stayed where I was."
Rolling her eyes she motioned to the bathroom, "well it is free now."
Climbing out of bed he walked towards the bathroom, "and I'm out of bed."
Hobbling over to her luggage she started rifling through it looking for something to wear.
Eventually she was ready for breakfast but as she had time to kill she sat back on the bed and rested her leg whilst Paul finished getting dressed.
As soon as he was dressed he turned around to see her with her leg up resting on the bed, "wow, it really must still be bothering you."
Grumbling she nodded her head, "it is, it's really annoying me. As someone who has had lots of knee injuries can't you give me some advice please?"
Sitting on the edge of the bed he shrugged, "what will I get in return?"
Shrugging her shoulders she didn't know and didn't care, "another 'I owe you'? I don't care Paul, you can have whatever you want as long as I get advice on how to handle this so I am able to resist the urge to chop the damn thing off."
Now he felt really bad as she was clearly irritated by the injury and not used to being injured, "okay well my advice would be rest it like you are as much as possible, ice it when possible and that anti-inflammatory gel stuff you can buy to reduce the swelling may be an idea also."
"There are no miracle cures? I know you're going to say no but it doesn't mean I can't dream that one exists somewhere."
Leaning forward he pressed a soft kiss to her cheek, "no miracle cures, time and patience is all you can invest."
That was not what she wanted to hear but at least she had listened to the advice this time and would do as she was told, "oh well."
Getting up from the bed Paul gathered together his luggage, "I should go back to my room or something incase Dwayne actually swings by here to pick you up but I'll see you at the arena later." Watching as she moved to get up from the bed he put his hand out to stop her, "don't get up, you need to rest that leg."
"But I want a kiss, it'll make me feel better."
Putting his suitcase back on the floor he walked over to her leaning down to give her a soft kiss, "if you're a very good girl you can have more of those later but only if you rest your leg and take care of it."
Mock saluting him she rolled her eyes, "yes sir."
Satisfied that she would not move for now he went back to his suitcase and picked it up before he slipped out of her room making sure that nobody was around to see him leave before he made his way back to his hotel room to make it seem like it was used.
