It was just starting to turn into the late afternoon early evening hours as Ginger drove her stylish red convertible back home after picking up her dress from Monica's. Tonight was the premiere of The Storm and she was nervous with excitement. After the movie, she was hosting a party at their new home. Certainly a terrific way to have a housewarming party. Of course her island family was invited. She was not leaving out Gilligan, Mary Ann, The Howells and Skipper! This was their night too! After all, without them there wouldn't be a movie. They were essential to the story just as much as she and Roy.

She adored the young actor they found to portray Billy, the Gilligan character. His name is Alan Berk. He was the perfect size for Gilligan and almost identical smile as the first mate. He really sunk into the role and had perfect chemistry with Amber who was Mary Ann's character.

Editing the movie was tough but she was pleased with the end results. Daryl told her she should be proud of herself and the movie was sure to be a big hit. She hoped it would be. It was hard work to make sure everything was just as she wanted but Ginger was sure it would pay off. All the actors were marvelous and hard workers.

Right now her mind was on the party and she hoped the Professor loved her dress. She picked out the perfect one at Monica's boutique. It was a stunning shade of red with a small slit up the side. Off the shoulder. Her gowns must always be off the shoulder. Roy is in charge of assuring the scent of her perfume is just right. She loved that man and she knew how much he adored her. That new perfume he had tested was amazing.

Well he "tested" it on her. He spritzed it on her neck and nuzzled her. After which he informed her it was simply marvelous. And he then insisted on changing the name. No more was it going to be called Hollywood Starlet as he originally intended. No. He was naming it Ginger. Roy stated that it complimented her just right. It was provactive, sexy and alluring. Just like she was. Ginger smiled to herself as she drove. What would she ever do without him? She didn't want to even think about it. Well she didn't have to think about it. He was hers. All hers.

Nothing and no one would ever tear him away from her. Still no word on that horrible Eva. The police had very little leads but they were not giving up. The information they obtained from Mr. Ted Anderson was helpful and the bartender at the bar Ted met "Diana' at did provide some information as well. Told the police about how "Diana" badmouthed Ginger and said that she was going to be a big name star. Gave them a description of her and it matched the headshot that Daryl had provided them.

The actress hoped that Eva or Diana just gave up and left town but she of course was not holding her breath on that. She was still on guard. The starlet made a right turn and pulled up to the gate of the house. She entered her personal code into the keypad and the gates opened. Ginger drove in and they shut behind her automatically. The redhead parked her car and picked her dress up off the hook it was hanging on in the back. She opened the door and her heels clicked on the pavement as she made her way over to the front door.

Making her way inside she went up the stairs and to the master suite. Roy was due home soon and they needed to get ready. She prayed he wouldn't run late, she always hated when he got held up. It was not that Ginger didn't know that he would be busy with his and Barbara's new company. She was proud of them both. They lined up some important clients who were very impressed with the Ginger line. Already received orders before it was set to debut.

She dropped her dress on the bed and walked to her en suite to take a shower. Ginger loved the huge stand up shower that Mrs. Howell had put it in. So luxurious. Wide showerhead and body jets. So relaxing after a long day.

Removing her clothes she dropped them in the laundry hamper and started up the shower. The hot water sprayed as she stepped inside enjoying the warmth. Ginger picked up her brand new shampoo. The one her dear husband made just for her. He was not planning on selling it to the public. No it was Ginger's own. Made with real raspberries and strawberries, it gave her hair the perfect texture. She loved it's heavenly scent and loved how it made her red locks feel. She squirted it in her hand and began massaging it into her scalp when she felt a hand on her body. Ginger grinned. "Darling…What are you doing in here?"

"I love you." He whispered into her ear. His lips began kissing that very ear and Ginger sighed. She turned around to face him. "Roy…We have to get ready for the premiere..You know it starts at…" Her sentence was cut off by a passionate kiss on her lips. Her hands placed themselves on his now soaked chest. "Roy…" She said breaking away. "We can't.."

"Why not?" He asked kissing her ear again.

Ginger giggled. "Cause we will be late and everyone will know why we are late…."

"So?" He replied wrapping his arms around her and holding her closer.

"You are awful." The movie star smiled at him. "But get out…I don't want to be late. I want to make sure…." The protest was cut off again but a scorching kiss and soon Ginger forgot what she was protesting.

Later Ginger sat at her vanity table in her white robe brushing her hair and watching her husband's reflection in the mirror. He looked so handsome in the new suit he bought.
Black jacket and crisp white shirt. The starlet was certain he would turn heads. Of course those catty women could look all they wanted. Roy Hinkley belonged to her. She enjoyed showing him off to everyone and informing him he was the greatest husband ever.

She meant it to. Yes they had their fights. They always had their fights. Even on the island they had their arguments. It was normal. They didn't let it bother them too much.
Ginger would tell him she was never leaving so no matter how angry he might get with her about something he was stuck her with her too bad get over it. He would then say it went double for him. He was going to stay married to her no matter how many times she "threatened" to make him sleep on the sofa. Her threats were always empty and they both knew it. The moment he would grab his pillow to head down the stairs, Ginger would burst into tears and beg him to stay with her. He would of course relent and hold her in his arms telling her he was very sorry for getting upset and then they would make love.
One time they got into heated argument over a scene she had written in the movie. He was not pleased with how she portrayed him. Ginger said it was just a movie and it was meant to be comical. She was not insulting him. It went back and forth and he stormed out only to return not 30 minutes later with a huge red rose bouquet and a thousand apologies. Ginger then said she was sorry and swore she would change the scene. He was right. She should not have written such a thing. How thoughtless of her! Roy then stated she needn't do such a thing which of course she did anyway.

The one thing the starlet was amazed was how the Professor handled men fawning over her. Many times when they would be out, they would go on about how beautiful she was and the younger males would bring her roses and other gifts. She thought it was sweet of them. Of course she didn't keep them. At least the jewelry and the bigger gifts. She couldn't. No instead she donated them to charity but she appreciated their sentiment. Many many times male restaurant owners would insist to provide a bottle of their finest champagne on the house because she was so kind and beautiful. It irked the Professor a great deal when sometimes they would touch his wife on the chin or kiss her hand but he kept it in check. He knew very well that's how it worked when you were involved with a gorgeous movie star like Ginger. She was going to be admired and loved by all. As long as he was the one who got to love and admire her when the curtain fell and the stage went dark, he was good.

Mary Ann's modeling career was taking off. She was on the cover of several new magazines and one fashion house insisted she do the ads for their new collection.

She was also starting to attract the attention of the male population much to the chagrin of Gilligan. They would like with Ginger, kiss her hand and inform her of what a beautiful woman she was. Gilligan did not like it and told them to knock it off. Mary Ann giggled as his "jealousy" and let the first mate know that no matter what she belonged to him. It was harmless and besides she had to endure those "moves" Ginger put on him on the island. Gilligan said she had a point but Ginger never meant anything by it. Those men may get the wrong idea and…that is when Mary Ann cut him off with a kiss and he seemed to forget what he was jealous about.

Ginger stood up from her table and picked her dress up from the bed. She unzipped it from the bag and held it out for her husband. "What do you think?" She asked.

The Professor looked at the beautiful garment and imagined his wife wearing it. It sent his heart rate up a bit. "It's you." He remarked.

"You like it?" Ginger said with a smile.

"My love anything you wear is wonderful."

Ginger walked up to him and kissed his lips. "I love you." She said. "Now get out so I can dress." She then gently guided him to the door.

"Wait a minute." He said pausing. "You can watch me dress but I can't…"

"I was not watching you dress." Ginger lied.

"You were too. I saw you staring at my reflection through your mirror."

She shook her head. "You are imaging things…now scoot! I need to make myself look gorgeous."

"You already do." He said kissing her before opening the door and stepping out.

Ginger picked up her gown and smiled. The look in his face when she came down the stairs wearing the gown…She imagined him taking her in his arms and…."Mmmmm." She sighed.

The actress unzipped the gown and stepped into it and pulled it up. She zipped the back back up and adjusted the top. Perfect. Ginger slid her feet into her red opened toed heels and walked to the bedroom door.

She glided down the stairs to where Roy was waiting and he had that usual look of enchantment on his face at her appearance. And as she hoped he took her in his arms and kissed her yet again.

The couple then headed outside to the limo that was waiting for them. Ginger had butteflies in her stomach. She prayed that her movie would be well received. It had to be. The story was brilliant. The actors were fantastic. Everyone had to love it. The academic squeezed his famous wife's hand assuring her that everything would be great.

They arrived at the theater with much fan fare and of course a million photographers.
Ginger stepped out of her limo and waved to the adoring fans who were behind a red velvet rope. How she wished she could go over to them and sign a few autographs but didn't think it was wise with the Eva/Diana threat still out there. Ginger did task Jack to hand out to them pictures that she had personally autographed. She hoped that would make up for not being able to greet them like she wanted. The fans seemed to be appreciative of it as they waved their photos shouting how great she was and thanking her.

All of a sudden a loud boom was heard and Roy looked down in horror seeing his wife slumped to the ground bleeding. It was a split second when he saw a blur of what appeared to be a black haired person racing to a car and speeding away.
There was a commotion and the cameras were flashing. He shouted at them to get away and called out for someone to get an ambulance and hurry!

The manger of the theater quickly got on the phone and the police shoved the curious press away. They radioed for back-up and cornered off the area.

Roy was kneeling down by his wife having taken off his jacket and trying to stop the bleeding. "My love please hang in there. Please…stay with me….I love you Ginger.."

Mary Ann was in tears as she and Gilligan had arrived not a few seconds after the gunshot when off. This could not be happening! It couldn't! Not Ginger!

Jessica tried to remain calm but it was useless. She sobbed into the Skipper's chest as he tried to comfort her. The two had become fast friends and she asked if he wouldn't mind if they attended the premiere together. The sailor thought it was a great idea. He had picked her up at her home and handed her a simple white rose. The Grant sister thought it sweet and kissed his cheek. He remarked how stunning she looked in her purple dress and they took off for the theater. They were happily chatting about what a great picture it would be and even talked about maybe it would win awards…how cool would that be! When they arrived they were horrified to find out what had transpired.
Jessica shook and sobbed. She could not lose her baby sister! Not again!

The ambulance arrived and Ginger was loaded inside. The Professor insisted on riding with her. No one protested as he climbed up inside taking her hand in his. His mind was not on who did this. He had a pretty good idea who. What he cared about was Ginger being okay. She had to be. He could not lose his beloved starlet.

The paramedics watched her blood pressure which was steady. A good sign. It was something. The Professor would take anything he could get.

The hospital appeared and the ambulance pulled up to the emergency entrance.
Roy followed the paramedics inside and they updated the doctors on her condition.
One of the doctors who introduced himself as Dr. Sherwood, stated they would need to get Ginger into surgery at once. He instructed she be taken to the OR.

A nurse advised the Professor that he would need to wait there, he could not go in. He wanted to fight her but knew that they needed to do their job. He thanked her and sat down on the chair with his bloody jacket. The press was outside wanting to shout questions at him but hospital security kept them away.

The rest of the ex-castaways arrived inquiring about Ginger.
"They took her into surgery." He replied. "That's all I know at this point."

Gilligan said nothing as he sat down. Poor Ginger. Poor Professor. Why did this have to happen to his friends! Why? He knew right away that Eva was behind this. No one else would be this evil. He prayed with all his might that Ginger would pull through.
Mary Ann sat beside him praying just as hard.

It was almost four hours before Dr. Sherwood came out to talk with them.
The Professor stood up from his chair. "Ginger…is she…"

"Your wife is in stable condition. We were able to extract the bullet. She was very lucky. There was some damage her organs but we were able to repair them. Our biggest concern however was of course the baby."

The Professor stood there speechless. "Baby?"

"Yes Mr. Hinkley." He said with a smile. "Your wife appears to be at least six weeks pregnant."

The others stood up and congratulated the bewildered academic.

"Oh that's so wonderful!" Mary Ann gushed. "I'm so happy for you!"

"Yeah that's great Professor!" Gilligan smiled. "Ginger will be a great mother!"

Roy managed a small smile before turning to the doctor. "Is the baby okay?"

"Yes the baby is fine. The bullet did not come close to the baby itself. The angle was very off."

"So Ginger is going to be okay?" He asked hopefull.

Dr. Sherwood sighed. "Ginger has lost a bit of blood. We were able to give her transfusions however she is in a coma. We are monitoring her very carefully."

"Coma?" The Professor said with wide eyes. "How long is she…."

"We can't say how long for certainty." The doctor explained. "All we can do right now is wait and watch her closely."

"But she will come out of it?" Roy pressed. "Please tell me she will come out of it."

"I cannot make you any promises." The older man explained. "I do not want to give you any false hope. What I can tell you is that I am very optimistic."

"I understand." The Professor sighed. "Can I see her?"

"Of course. We moved her into ICU. I will take you down there now."

"Thank you doctor."

Mrs. Howell spoke. "Professor we will be right here if you need us."

"I appreciate that." He said before heading down the corridor with the doctor.

They arrived at Ginger's room and the Professor went inside. He was horrified to see Ginger in such a state but was happy she was alive. Pulling a chair over he sat down beside her taking her hand in his. "I love you." He said lifting up her hand to kiss it. "I love you Ginger. Please wake up. I love you so much."

The Professor gently brushed her hair away from her lovely but silent face. Her beautiful green eyes were shut. He prayed that he would see them once again.

Other side of town

Eva was in her apartment attempting to wash the gunpowder residue off her hands. She already discarded her clothes and her gun was thrown into a river. There was no way the police would ever catch her. She knew her plan was risky but to her it was worth the gamble. Ginger needed to be taken out and this was the only way to do it.
With any luck the bitch would die and she would be rid of her for once and for all! No more would she have to be in the shadows. No one would ever suspect she was the one who pulled the trigger. The cops would be looking for a blonde named Diana. Well they would just be on a wild goose chase. Diana was no more.
Helena Burns was born! She had surgery done to alter her appearance. There was no way anyone would ever suspect she was Eva Grubb or Diana Hart. In fact with her new look, she believed herself to be ten times more beautiful than that stupid Ginger.

Yes she was going to emerge as a new face and step into the spotlight that would be left after Ginger's demise! Why should she put her dreams of stardom on hold?
An altered appearance and a new persona was all she needed. The rest would be hers for the taking! Sure Ginger would be mourned in Hollywood blah blah blah but soon they would forget her once she, Helena stepped into the spotlight.
She was going to be discovered the same way Lana Turner was. Hey maybe they would even say she was the next Lana Turner! Anything was possible!

Helena had decided it would be best to take some courses in acting. She wasn't going to blow it again. However she knew she could not very well do that in L.A. without attracting attention so she found an acting school in New York. It was a huge school and she could blend in perfectly. Her teacher said she had great potential!

She would land a movie role yet! Maybe not a starring role but a role big enough to grab the attention of the movie going public! It was foolish of her to try to get grab such a big role in the first place. It was a mistake and she learned from it. Yes it was all going to come together. Ginger Grant would be no more.
