A/N: This is the last chapter of this story. Actually, it's just an epilogue to the story itself. I hope you like it! (Expect some weird side story with me and my classmates in this story.)

A Troublesome Confession

Epilogue: Forever After

It's been 10 years since that day and everything in the Konoha has changed. All the Alliance members are now married and had a family. Some have taken over of their clan. That includes Inosana. It turns out that Itachi had abandoned the Uchiha name for her sake although she was willing to take care of the Uchiha clan herself. They had a 5 year-old daughter named Inoyasha. (InuyashaHoodieLover: WHAT THE…!? InosanaYamanaka13: PEACE!) They were a happy family. Their daughter had Inosana's hair, eyes, jutsu and personality but also had Itachi's brains, jutsu and smile. Anyway, Ino and Shikamaru, after 10 years in their relationship, have not yet gotten married. In Inosana's view, it was probably because Shikamaru hasn't found the will to ask her hand yet. This was true. Today was their anniversary and Inosana was fed up with waiting. She forced herself to persuade Shikamaru herself. Shikamaru was now living in an apartment near the Hokage mansion. She didn't know why though but people say that he is the new ANBU chief. Over the course of time, no one has died yet. Inoichi, Shikaku and the other parents were their respective homes. One by one, the children left their homes to live with their family. Some to live alone as a way of saying they can take care of themselves. Inosana arrived at the apartment and knocked on the door. The Nara answered and was shocked to see the older sister of his girlfriend had come to visit him. He let her in and offered her tea. She accepted and sat down. After a while, he did the same. He knew that she was the new head of her clan after her father had stepped down 5 years ago. That same year, she and Itachi, after years of planning, finally got married. (PotassiumHerbert: Why did it take so long? InosanaYamanaka13: You'll find out RedHearts: There's nothing funny going on yet. FJRed: Yeah! What's up, Amber? RedHearts: WHY ARE YOU HERE!? InosanaYamanaka13: *face palms* and here comes the weird part…) He didn't know what her purpose of her visit was until she spoke "Shikamaru… When will you ask my sister to marry you? You have been dating her for 10 years now! What's stopping you?" she said with formality "I'm afraid of what the future holds for us." He replied expecting the 32 year-old to laugh only she didn't. Inosana stood up and placed a hand on the 26 year-old's shoulder "Don't be afraid of what is to come for the both of you. What matters is that you'll both be happy. Why do you think I got married 5 years ago? I was afraid too. But I got over it, for my happiness." Inosana said. (PotassiumHerbert: So that's why… InosanaYamanaka13: Yup! 8SnowCross8: I wish those two could stop fighting… *looks and FJRed and RedHearts who were verbally fighting* InuyashaHoodieLover: Isn't it weird that they both have red in their author names? InosanaYamanaka13: Yeah… I wonder why…) Shikamaru looked up to the Yamanaka. He couldn't believe it. Inosana! Afraid of what the future holds? He was shocked "I thought you weren't afraid of anything." He said. She just smiled and shook her head "Everyone's afraid of something, Shikamaru. And what Ino's afraid of, is losing you." She said taking her hand off his shoulder "What should I do?" he asked "Simple. Buy a ring, take her to some place private, ask and pray she'll say 'Yes'." Inosana said as she walked towards the door "Thanks, Inosana." He said opening the door for her "You are very welcome. Today is your anniversary with Ino, right?" she asked and he nodded. She smiled "Well then, happy anniversary to both of you." Inosana said and left. He thought hard about what she had told him. He knew she had a point and he wanted to propose but he wasn't sure of how he should do it. He decided to do it the way Inosana told him to. It wouldn't be easy, so he asked the help of Naruto, Sasuke, Neji, Suigetsu, and Kiba who have already married their girlfriends. The guys went with him to buy the engagement ring. They got the girls in on it and fixed up the old Confession Site which he and Ino have gone to from time to time. It was strange though since the girls left early. Shikamaru pushed that thought aside. What he didn't know was that Ino was having her own problems.

Near the location of the training field was Ino's home. The girls went there to help Ino pick a gift for him. She couldn't give him flowers or stuff like that. She had no clue what to give her boyfriend this year. Over the past years she gave lavish gifts like a car, an Iphone6, and more. This year she wanted it to be the best of the best! She just didn't know what to give him "Give him a new pair of ninja sandals!" Sakura suggested which Ino found stupid "Give him a new set of headphones." Tenten said "Already did!" she said "Why not give him a new set of throwing blades?" Hinata suggested. Again, Ino thought it was a stupid idea "Why don't you sing for him?" Temari asked "What song?" Ino asked "Got to Believe in Magic by David Pomeraz! It's a great song!" she replied "Okay! Let's practice it!" Ino said with glee as the other girls cheered and they set to work. They were all so busy until it was almost sun down. Ino changed into a violet short dress with thin straps and black high heels with straps the crisscross over each other. Shikamaru wore a sleek black suit with a green neck tie and black shoes. Ino put on her make-up and did her hair in a bun letting some strands loose and curled. Shikamaru put gel in his hair and brushed his hair back revealing his face. He put on the wrist watch Ino had given him on their 5th anniversary. Ino brought out the choker Shikamaru gave her on their 5th anniversary. It had an amethyst heart gem with a pink lace. Although, she chose put on her sister's choker as well. Ever since she had worn it, she had been receiving good luck in her love life. At exactly 6 o'clock, Shikamaru went to Ino's house and took her to the Confession Site. Ino smiled. Recalling the night they had become a couple made her smile and cry all the time! She never forgot that night. When they arrived, Shikamaru laid out a picnic mat on the grass. (8SnowCross8: LOL! They wore such nice clothes only to go on a picnic. InosanaYamanaka13: They wanted to! After all, they have to look their best… *meanwhile…* FJRed: I didn't know that your name had red in it! RedHearts: YOU'RE JUST JEALOUS THAT I'M SMARTER THAN YOU! FJRed: I AM NOT! YOU ARE! PotassiumHerbert: Why can't they just stop fighting? InuyashaHoodieLover: I know! Moreover, why can't he just admit it? PotassiumHerbert: Yeah…) Ino smiled at her boyfriend brightly and he smiled at her. He lit a fire using wood he had gathered earlier. The flames engulfed the wood in minutes. As smoke rose from the fire, Ino moved closer to it and Shikamaru moved closer to her, took off his coat and placed it on her shoulders "Thank you, Shikamaru!" she said as he sat down. The minute he sat down, Ino placed her head on his broad shoulders and he put a protective arm around her, pulling her closer to him. They looked up at the stars. They still looked as young as the day they became a couple and they were still just as sweet.

From a distance, Inosana was looking out the window of her new home, saw the smoke and smiled "Aren't you gonna do something about that, honey?" Itachi asked from behind her "I think there's nothing to worry about." She answered facing him and smiled "You've always been so calm about everything." He said walking over to her and cupping her cheek "I have to be, for Inoyasha's sake." She said touching the hand on her cheek. He smiled at his beloved wife. He knew that Inosana would do everything to protect their one and only daughter. Just then, their daughter came in "Mama?" she said "What is it, sweetie?" Inosana said sweetly "I have a question." She said as she entered the room "Sensei told us that you were one of the greatest kunoichi! Is that true?" the 5 year-old Uchiha asked her mother. Inosana just smiled at her daughter. She knew that Chouji would mention that fact someday, somehow, to her daughter. Chouji was her daughter's sensei and Inosana told Chouji that her daughter should not be hurt "… If she gets hurt, you'll suffer the consequences. You hear me, Akimichi?" she recalled herself saying to the 26 year-old man. Inosana looked at her daughter "I can't say that I am. But I guess you could say that…" she said "Wow! Really, mama? How strong are you?" her daughter asked as she leaped into the arms of her father. Itachi just laughed as he recalled something Inoichi had sung during his wedding "I loved her first. I held her first. Be careful when you hold my girl. From the first breath she breathed to when she first smiled at me. I knew the love of a father was deep. I prayed that she'd find you someday, but it's still hard to give her away. And someday you'll understand me. How the love of a father can be, I loved her first." Itachi smiled at his daughter he lifted his daughter up "Mama is very strong. She was a student of the 5th Hokage, you know." Itachi said with honor "She is loved and feared by all ninja, including me." Itachi continued as his daughter put her arms around his neck. Inosana just smiled at him "But mama isn't as strong as me. I can place people in a genjutsu for some time." He joked "But I can avert your papa's attack." Inosana intervened "Wow! Mama and Papa are so strong! I'll never be like you." Inoyasha said with a frown "If you just listen to your sensei you'll surely be stronger than the two of us!" Inosana said with glee "Really, mama?" she said and both parents nodded "Then, I will listen to Chouji-sensei so I can be just like you. I promise!" Inoyasha said and Inosana put her arms around Itachi and her daughter. Indeed, they were a happy family.

Back with Ino and Shikamaru, they were just eating, having fun, and; of course, a lot of kissing. (8SnowCross8: Nose bleed much… InosanaYamanka13: HAHAHAHAHAHA… XD!) Ino suddenly stood up "Shikamaru, I have a present for you…" she said turning to him. Just then, music; courtesy of the Kunoichi who were hidden in the trees, started to play and Ino sang…

"Ino…" was all Shikamaru managed to say. No one had done this for him before and smiled as he stood up "I loved the song. Now, time for my present." He said walking over to her. When he was right in front of her, he knelt on one knee "Ino, we've been through so much together and I wanted to know if you would consider starting a family together." He stopped as he got the box from his pocket "Ino Yamanaka, will you marry me?" he asked as he opened the box revealing the engagement ring he bought earlier. It had an amethyst gemstone in the shape of a heart "Yes, oh yes, Shikamaru. One hundred percent yes!" she exclaimed with tears of joy in her eyes as he put it on her ring finger. Just then, the Shinobi and Kunoichi came out of hiding and congratulated them.

A few days later, a letter came in the mail for Inosana. She opened it and gasped. It said;

YOU ARE INVITED TO THE WEDDING OF

Shikamaru Nara and Ino Yamanaka

On the 14th of February 2014

At the Hokage mansion

And reception at the ninja academy gym

Inosana went to her room and showed Itachi the letter. He smiled when he saw that they had been chosen as secondary sponsors that will put the veil on the couple "They're finally tying the knot." He said and Inosana smiled and went to the living room with the letter and sat in her sitting chair. Just then, their daughter entered the room "Mama! What are you reading?" she asked as she climbed on to her mother's lap "Your auntie Ino and Shikamaru are getting married." Inosana said showing her the letter "Who is auntie Ino?" she asked. Inosana carried her daughter and stood up. She walked over to her cabinet and put Inoyasha down. Inosana opened the cabinet and got a book she had placed inside. The book was a wedding gift Ino had given her. It was filled with pictures, mostly composed of her and Itachi. But there were also pictures of her with Ino, her family and teammates. She took the dust off and went back to her sitting chair in the living room. Inoyasha returned to her original position on her mother's lap. Her mother opened the book which turned out to be a scrapbook. She opened to a page where a picture of her and Ino was placed. She pointed her sister out in the picture "That's your auntie Ino." She said pointing her index finger to Ino's genin photo "That's you. Right, mama?" Inoyasha asked pointing to Inosana's jounin photo and Inosana nodded "Um, mama… does papa have a little sibling too?" she asked and Inosana nodded. As if on cue, Itachi came "I think it's time we tell her." He said and Inosana nodded "Tell me about what?" Inoyasha asked facing her father. Inosana heaved a deep sigh and began to tell Inoyasha about Sasuke, the Akatsuki, and the Absorption Mark which was, somehow, able to be passed down biologically to her daughter. When Inosana had finished, Inoyasha couldn't believe it "There's so much evil blood in our family. Huh, mama?" she said "Yes there IS a lot of evil in our family but that doesn't mean you're evil too! You can change what people think of your father." Inosana said "Technically, you don't have to. Your mother is a famous Kunoichi! But you have to keep our reputation the way your mother has." Itachi said to his daughter "I promise!" Inoyasha said. Then, there was a knock on the door. Inosana carried her daughter once more and placed her on the ground and went to answer the door. When she opened it, she was thrilled to see who it was "INO!" she squealed with joy "SIS!" the 26 year-old future Nara exclaimed and the sisters hugged. Inosana noticed that Shikamaru was there too "You actually listened to me, Nara." Inosana said breaking away from Ino's embrace "Yeah…" he replied as he scratched the back of his head "Let me guess. You went to her for advice again. Didn't you, Shika?" she said "More like she convinced me on her own. I didn't ask for her advice." He said and Ino giggled. After that, Itachi came out with Inoyasha in his arms "Mama!" Inoyasha exclaimed as she extended her arms in the general direction of her mother "Is that Inoyasha? She has grown up so fast!" Ino said "Auntie!" Inoyasha exclaimed and Ino raised an eyebrow "How does she know me? I haven't seen she was a baby!" Ino said "I used your wedding gift to me." Inosana said and Ino was starting to get teary-eyed "What about my gift?" Shikamaru said. His gift was just as nice as Ino's. It was huge picture frame that had a picture of her, Itachi and the Alliance on it. There were actually two of them. The other had a picture of the couple with their families and friends on it. Inosana had placed the first one in the living room. The other in the bedroom "I hung it up! But you two shouldn't be so concerned 'bout that." Itachi said handing Inoyasha to her mother "He's right! Congratulations on your engagement!" Inosana cried "I'm so happy for you, Ino!" a voice from behind the future husband and wife called out "MOM!" the girls exclaimed in unison. Inosana put her daughter down and ran into the open arms of her mother and Ino did the same "I missed the two of you!" Mrs. Yamanaka said "So did I." a voice said from behind her "DADDY!" Inosana squealed with delight at the sight of her father and hugged him. Inoichi wrapped his arms around his daughter they knelt to the ground. Mrs. Yamanaka and Ino joined them. Itachi and Shikamaru smiled at them. Both of them had the same thought. They knew that neither of the two Yamanaka girls could ever forget their family. Inoichi invited the boys into the embrace and they obliged. They also let Inoyasha in. They were still a perfect family even if they had separated many years ago "Alright, that's enough hugging. Everyone, get inside." Inosana said and the others obliged. When they were all seated in the living room, Inosana went to the kitchen to make some popcorn, the family's favorite snack. After a few minutes, she came out with the popcorn and talk about the Yamanaka-Nara wedding broke loose. They discussed the motif, the clothes, the reception and a lot more. Eventually, they had come up with an idea for the wedding and were ready to get to work.

(TIME SKIP: 1 MONTH)

Finally, after a long time of waiting and not being allowed to see each other due to the fear of the family of the couple receiving bad luck, the big day came! Ino was in her dressing room in the hotel not far from where the wedding would take place. She looked at herself in the tall mirror that could let her see how she looked from top to bottom and sighed. She looked stunning in the light make-up she had on her face, a floor-length veil that would trail behind her, her hair was in a bun with some strands loosely curled, her gown was floor-length, it started from the top of her shoulders making a v-neckline, and a part of it trailed behind her as well. The gown was adorned with gems and intricate designs and her bouquet had white and violet Irises and a neon green ribbon kept the flowers together. But she felt something was missing. Just then, Inosana came in. She was wearing the same type of dress her sister was wearing but hers was violet and she wore a shoal with it. It also wasn't as heavy as Ino's due to the fact that Ino's gown had a metallic figure to keep the dress from drooping. Her hair was in a bun as well, the only difference was that there was a violet Iris hair pin in her hair. It was different from the one Shikamaru gave Ino because the one he gave her looked so real "You look amazing, sis!" Inosana gawked "I feel like something's missing." Ino said turning to her sister. She had amethyst drooping earrings on, a gold bracelet that had a small amethyst Iris charm "I think I know what it is." Inosana said as she rummaged through her violet purse and took out a choker. It had a white lace and a violet Iris was in the middle "Inosana… I can't… Thank you." Ino said as she turned her back to her sister and Inosana helped Ino put it on "C'mon, Ino! Let's make Shikamaru fall in love with you all over again!" Inosana said. That very moment their mother came in "Ino! You look so grown up!" she said hugging her youngest daughter "Thanks, mom!" Ino answered as she put her arms around mother and Inosana joined them "You both grew up so fast! I never thought I would see the day that my youngest daughter would get married to the man she loves! I love you both!" Mrs. Yamanaka said "We love you too, mom!" the girls said in unison "Let's go!" Mrs. Yamanaka said and the girls cheered. They left the hotel and went to the Hokage mansion.

Meanwhile, Shikamaru was in his apartment when Shikatana came in "Hey sis." He said. He was wearing a well-ironed tuxedo, well-polished shoes and his hair was down and kept in place by some gel. (8SnowCross8: WOW, SHIKAMARU SOUNDS LIKE HE'S DOING EVERYTHING TO LOOK HIS BEST! InuyashaHoodieLover: Yeah… InosanaYamanaka13: Of course he does! He has to because it's his wedding day. RedHearts: Hey, Amber! Could you please tell FJ that I'm smarter than him? FJRed: I'm smarter than you. Right, Amber? PotassiumHerbert: QUIT FIGHTING!) "You look great, little brother! I can't believe that today's the big day! This is your first step in having a family of your own." Shikatana said with a deep sigh. She was wearing a neon green gown with a violet lace in the middle to act as a belt. Her earrings were amethyst studs; a gold necklace was around her neck and a gold bangle to match. Her hair was down but the ends were slightly curled. Shikamaru smiled at his sister "This wouldn't have happened if you and Inosana hadn't done anything to make us a couple." He said "Don't forget the rest of the Alliance, Kunoichi, Shinobi and Leaders!" Shikatana said sternly and her brother just laughed "I miss being kids." Shikatana said with a weak smile "Me too." Shikamaru commented "Remember your first day as a Genin?'' she asked and he nodded "That was also the first time you found thought a girl wasn't troublesome." Shikatana joked "I did find her troublesome, remember?" he said and she laughed at the memory.

*FLASHBACK*

It was the first day of Shikamaru as a Genin. Shikatana was asked by their father to go with him. When they reached the Academy, they saw Inosana and her little sister talking about something. (InuyashaHoodieLover: This was that conversation from chapter 19. Right, Amber? InosanaYamanaka13: That's right!) Shikatana noticed that her brother was looking at the little girl "Shikamaru?" she said but the boy didn't respond "I figured that was the problem…" Shikatana teased and her brother looked at her with a raised eyebrow "What?" he said and Shikatana just giggled "You like that girl, don't you?" she said pointing her index finger in the general direction of her teammate and her sister "I-I-I don't k-kn-know what y-y-you're talking 'bout." He stammered "I know you do. Don't lie to your sister." She said as she lowered her hand "Troublesome sisters…" he groaned "I thought you thought all girls are troublesome." She said "Hmph. What a drag…" he said walking away. Later that day, he told her but she forgot over the years.

*END OF FLASHBACK*

"No you didn't." she chimed in "I suppose you're right…" he said "Come again?" Shikatana joked "Troublesome…" he said "I'm just glad that you're happy with your life. You're really growing up faster than I wished you did, little bro." she said "Don't be that upset, sis. This doesn't mean that I'll love you any less! You're the best sister I could ever have!" he exclaimed hugging her and she wrapped her arms tightly around him. Just then, Yoshino Nara, their mom, came in "C'mon you two!" she called to them. Then their father appeared "Time to go!" he announced and they obliged. The family, Shikamaru and Ino's entourage all arrived at the Hokage Mansion. The ceremony began and Shikamaru and Ino were stunned to see how amazing the other looked. From her seat, a tear flowed down Inosana's cheek "You okay, Inosana?" Jana asked "Yeah…" she said wiping off them tear. She couldn't help it. She was happy for the two of them!

(TIME SKIP: 10 MONTHS LATER…)

"Push, Ino!" the doctor said to her and Ino wailed in pain. Shikamaru held her hand and stayed at her side because he didn't want to see what was happening on the other side of the blanket. After several minutes of Ino's pushing and wailing a healthy baby girl was born to them *Background Music: Forever Ever After from Enchanted plays* "What will you name her?" the nurse asked the couple "Inora." They said in unison and the nurse smiled. Their families rejoiced at the news. The child grew up to have Ino's spirit, Shikamaru's physical features and both their jutsus. Ino and Shikamaru were both happy with the achievements of the child. Some ninja considered her and Inoyasha to be the next version of Inosana! There were great trials ahead for the parents. But for now, everything was perfect and it was all because of a troublesome confession.
