Sakura
The blindfold that was on since we entered Tokyo Station finally came off and I beheld the giant glass dome of Tokyo Sea Life Park. Then his smiling face came to view, "Happy birthday!" - I just about melted right there.
He'd been talking about wanting to treat me as specially as with my birthday treat for him in Disneyland, the beginning of the year. And he hit the nail on the head with this one just like the last, knowing I have a fascination with all sorts of living creatures. First, there were the firefly squids in Toyama Bay, now this? How is he so epic with surprises?
I grabbed his hand to drag him with me to see the penguins and at that moment it occurred to me how nice his hand felt in mine. I couldn't focus on the penguins and how adorable they looked waddling to their food. My mind was fixated on our joined hands.
His hand was large, and rough, and warm and he held onto mine so securely. I felt like he was embracing all of me. Our hands so naturally molded into each other and I thought to myself then, I don't want to let go. And I never did.
He must have been thinking the same thing because he didn't either.
