A New Day

Sun shining in the blue sky but you wouldn't know it if you are the occupants of an apartment when all the windows are covered. Only when the high noon sun shine brightly though the small slip of curtain, did it lite up the room and roused one person out of three.
They awoke to warmth they never felt before and so snuggled down closer while tighten their arm around them as the person also burrowed deeper within their embrace. A deep breath and they smelt the flavor of sunshine and soap. Slowly opening their eyes and adjusting their sights to the light in the room, the person looked down and almost tensed up when they found whom they found comfort in.
It took a moment but relaxed right away with a small smile as they squeezed into the embrace before slowly untangling their limbs from the other person so not to wake them. Standing, they took one more look at their bed mate and leaned over to move a slip of hair from their face. A sigh came and went before they took off to the other side to stretch and use the bathroom.
The bedmate, with the warmth now gone, moved their arm around to locate that warmth and when they could not it, open their eyes to the lighting of the room. Pushing themselves up on their elbow, they looked around to find that warmth but instead found nothing. Turning around more is when they saw another bedmate facing the other way and blushed when they figured out who they shared the warmth with. That blush subsided to a small smile. Slowly slipping off the bed, making minimum movement so they may not rouse the last bedmate and stood up to stretch and upon hearing the door to the bathroom opening, they went to the other side. When both occupants saw each other, they smile and quietly said good morning. One headed to the kitchen to make breakfast and the other went to use the bathroom to freshen up.
Unbeknownst to them, Roxanne laid in bed with a smile on her face at witnessing the scene before either bedmate woke up. With a smile still on her face, Roxanne burrowed deep in her pillow to get some more sleep and dreamt a pleasant dream.

About half hour later, the smell of bacon and coffee in the air got too much for Roxanne and so woke up to stretch on her bed and threw the covers off. Standing and popping her bones from sleep, Roxanne went to the main room to see the boys just about finished with the cooking. Heading to the bathroom, Roxanne did her business and washed and dried her face and hands. Finish combing her hair, Roxanne went to the main room and saw that a plate is ready for her on her spot at the table with the boys smiling in greeting.
"Good morning boys. Sure does smell delicious" Grabbing a napkin and is about to dig in when in the corner of her eyes, she saw that Sasuke grimace at the food. Upon further inspection did she see that Sasuke is a little green but when she looked at Naruto, she saw that he looked ok, as he ate like a starving man whom has been denied food for so long.
"Sasuke, what's wrong, aren't you hungry" Sasuke shook his head and looked up.
"I feel like my head is going to explode with my stomach" Hearing this, Naruto looked up from his plate with a piece of meat hanging from the side of his mouth and quirked an eyebrow. Turning to Roxanne, he said.
"I think Sasuke-boy over here is hung over. Don't know how, he only finished 4 beers last night" and continued to eat. Pursing her lips in thought, Roxanne got up and went to the fridge. Coming back, Roxanne set down a beer in front of Sasuke and herself. One look at the can, Sasuke head snapped up.
"You're serious" She nodded as she popped open her can "But won't that make it worse" Roxanne shook her head and took a sip before answering.
"Believe it or not, Sasuke: with one can you'll feel a whole lot better then you are now and better enough to eat, now drink up"
"What about me" Naruto ask and Roxanne just nodded her head to the fridge. Naruto got up and grabbed a beer.
"Well it is the weekend and we won't have to worry about anything until Monday, so I say we drink up and relax today" Holding up his can in salute
"I say that is a great idea, Naruto" and held up her own can, clinking it with his. They both looked at Sasuke as he stared at the can in front of him and looked up at them in question, in which they nodded their heads in assurance. Picking up his can, he popped it open and took a big long sip of it.
"You both are nuts" Sasuke said after swallowing and wiping his mouth with a napkin, Roxanne chuckled and nodded to Naruto.
"You hear that Naruto, 'we're nuts'. Just one more notch before crazy and that comment deserves a good sip"
"Yeah!" and downed half of the can as Sasuke watched on with wide eyes and a second later joined in on the chug-a-lug. Setting their cans on the table, the trio laughed and continued eating. Well in Sasuke's case, started eating and he hummed in appreciation when he keep everything down.
Once breakfast or brunch was eaten, Roxanne helped with the boys clean up, the beers forgotten on the table. Once washed, the other dried and the last stacked them away in the cupboards. Easily done in minutes and Roxanne sat back down on the chair to watch as the boys did their dance while wiping the counter down, having a sip of her beer and enjoyed the show even if it lasted a couple more minutes. Down what is left of her beer, Roxanne crushed it as small as it can go and tossed it in the trash bin while grabbing another beer. Heading to her room, Roxanne plopped down and grabbed for the remote to continue on the movie they were watching the night before. The boys came in, saw the bed and looked at each other before blushing madly, both blushing for 2 totally different reasons. Roxanne pretended to not notice and scoot over so she sat right nab in the middle as she waved the boys over. Naruto to the right and Sasuke to the left but no beers and so Roxanne shrugged, continuing on hers and watching the movie. Soon, the tension Roxanne felt from both boys' shoulders eased down and they finally relaxed against the pillows.
Soon, with the last sip of the alcoholic beverage in her mouth, Roxanne felt as well as heard the steady breathing of both boys and she knew right then that the boys fell asleep. Having no other way to get up but to make a clone, Roxanne quickly did the signs and one quietly popped out. Handing the can to her look alike and gestured for another can, Roxanne sat back and waited. Not long after, she had one in her hand and the clone lay down at the foot of the bed to watch the movie with Roxanne.
Just as the credits rolled down the screen, Roxanne tensed: someone she has never felt before appeared outside Naruto's bedroom window. Lowering her own chakra, Roxanne switched places with her clone and looked out her own window. Seeing the window wide open, she stealthily climbed out the window, chakra lined her feet and hands. Slowly, as to not spook anyone sneaky around Naruto's place, Roxanne peeked in. Seeing a huddled figure sitting on the floor, with its back to the window, Roxanne leaped up and sat on the edge of the window, clearing her throat for attention.
"You know it's a felony to break and enter someone else's home?"
The figure tensed up 'I didn't even sense her' and they turned around. Eye balling each other, Roxanne could see that the person had on a Jonin vest, grey spikey hair and an eye patch over one eye.
"Who knew that a Jonin class shinobi would break into someone else's home and by the looks of it, not take anything? Strange" Looking around to make sure is when the guys attacked. A kunai thrown at her but Roxanne is a bit quicker than that as she plucked it out of the air and twirled it around her finger and tsk'ed at the surprised Jonin.
"Shouldn't of done that, bro" and swoosh.
In a blink of an eye, Roxanne had 2 clones grab onto the guy and held him down on the floor, while Roxanne sliced at the clones he made. The clones held the guy's arms and torso from struggling as the guy stared at Roxanne in shock and surprise that a girl, let alone a young girl who should be a Genin, out rank him, a Jonin in combat and stealth.
Roxanne twirled the kunai in the air as she walked over to where they held the guy down and straddles his torso. She smiled a sweet smile and held the kunai to the guy's throat.
"What your name sweet cheeks, and don't try to lie or I'll mark you for every lie you tell" Said in a sickly sweet and innocent voice. The guy signed angrily and stopped any movement.
"Kakashi Hatakei" Roxanne didn't look surprised.
"The copy ninja and former Anbu of the Leaf Village snooping around a newly ranked Genin's home. And for what?"
"Research" Roxanne tilt her head to the side while smiling, indication for Kakashi to continue.
"Research because Naruto Uzamaki will be part of my 4 man squad"
"Oooh, sweet! Now I'm going to assume that Naruto is first on your list for the 4 man squad and so you have 2 more places to break into, is that correct, Kakashi?" He nodded. Roxanne smiled and snapped her fingers. Clones popped out of existence and Roxanne stood up just as Kakashi scooted away, holding his throat to inspect for blood. Throwing the kunai at his feet, Roxanne hopped up on the sill of the window, looking out.
"Be warned, Kakashi Hatakei, next time you want to break into this building again for I live just one floor down and like to keep what's mine safe"
"Wait" Roxanne stopped from leaping out.
"Who are you?" Roxanne smirked but did not turn around.
"Roxanne" Kakashi's eye widen at the mention of that name, for he had heard the story of the test that happen the day before of how a girl took the Jonin test and passed quickly, almost killing one of the opponents and injuring all of them before it was stopped. After a couple seconds of eerie silence, Kakashi and Roxanne nodded to each other in brief understanding of one another before Roxanne jumped out and quietly climbed back in her window.
Seeing the boys still asleep and the clone had already popped in another movie, Roxanne lounged at the foot of the bed and enjoyed herself, because one needs to smirk in satisfaction if one were to take down a former Anbu ninja in under 10 seconds.

When the 2nd movie ended, is when the boys started waking up from their slumber and the clone could finally move around to stretch. Feeling someone move about the boys open their eyes and looked around.
"Finally, you all had a nice nap" Roxanne called out from her spot at the foot of the bed and the boys looked at her then at the clone between them.
"When did this happen?" Sasuke thumbed at the clone as Naruto smiled and snuggled close up to the clone, who wrapped her arms around him.
"Sometime between the first movie and this movie" Naruto sighed and Sasuke smiled at the pair.
"So what did you do while we slept?"
"Oh, nothing of interest, just this and that with a beer or two" Roxanne smiled and rolled over onto her back, staring at the ceiling "Waiting for you guys to wake up so we can go"
"Go, go where?" Naruto snapped up like a spring at the mention of going out and the clone got flung off the bed to the floor. Silence for a sickening second before Roxanne burst out laughing and Naruto sprouted apologies to the clone as she rubbed her sore behind. Sasuke sighed and reprimanded Naruto's mistake. The clone then stood up, smacked Naruto upside the head and popped away with a humph'ed. Rubbing the sore spot and smiling sheepishly, Naruto repeated the question when Roxanne calmed down.
"Well, lunch sounds about right and maybe go from there" the boys nodded and got up to stretch the kinks out. Roxanne put her hand over her heads to the floor and kicked herself up and over. Landing on her feet, Roxanne too started a small stretch as the boys laughed at her antics. Checking her room, Roxanne picked up her wallet and keys on top the night stand, slipping on a wrist band and headed quickly to the bathroom to run a comb through her hair. Once satisfied, Roxanne was about to call out to the boys but cut herself short at the sight: Sasuke combing his hand through Naruto's hair while he did the same to Sasuke's hair and the blush that lightly colored both faces is a snap shot moment but alas, the camera is in the room. So burning the moment in her memory for later to be etched on paper, Roxanne quietly stepped back to the bathroom and hollered from there.
"So guys (an 'eep' and shuffle) we gonna head out, I'm starving" pretending to come out of the bath, Roxanne saw the boys standing a bit closer than usual, with a tint of blush on Naruto while Sasuke is turned the other way but she pretends also to not notice and smile at the pair.
"We walk I guess" Heads to the door, swung it open and twists around as she walk backwards smiling at the pair.
"Just lock it behind you, Sasuke" Loops an arm with Naruto, they walk ahead as Sasuke does as he's ask. Roxanne stares at Naruto until he turns to her and tilts his head sideways
"What?" Roxanne smiles and shakes her head "Nothing, just happy today"
"You're weird" Naruto grunts with a smile and Roxanne laughs just as Sasuke catches up and hears the last part of the comment.
"Obviously" Roxanne gasped in mock hurt and swats Sasuke's arm as he and Naruto laugh.
"Takes one to know one, honey" Naruto and Roxanne laugh at that but Sasuke quietly gasps and almost trip on his own feet when that last word was uttered. A warm sensation filled his chest at that one word as he stops and watches as Roxanne is talking to Naruto and all the surroundings faded away and all noise quiet down to nothingness. It's been forever since anyone who mattered to Sasuke call him 'honey' and it fill him with something akin to longing as a vision appeared of his mother smiling down on him. Another gasp fill his mouth when he saw his mother's beautiful face and tears filled his eyes. Reaching forward with one hand towards the vision but before he could touch her, a voice called out to him and the scene vanished like a puff of smoke as the faces of Roxanne and Naruto appeared with worried faces.
"Sasuke, you ok?" Naruto's concern etched in his voice as Sasuke shook his head and looked back at the two with a clear mind and vision. Smiling brightly, like Naruto has never seen, Sasuke slung an arm around Naruto's shoulders and lead them away with Roxanne linking arms with Naruto again.
"Never better, Naruto, Never better" and stared ahead with that smile ad Naruto and Roxanne looked at each other before shrugging and smiling also.
'Today just might be a good day'

Saturday afternoon at the market place has always been busy, with adults buying fresh fruits and veggies, to merchants advertising their sale and the trio stood staring for a good minute, before almost being pushed out of the way of a cart. The merchant mumbling about snot nosed kids and Naruto shaking his fist at him, Roxanne and Sasuke smiled at the scene.
"So, what does everyone feel like having?" Roxanne
"You know what I want" Naruto
"We always know what you want Naruto" Sasuke
"But why can't today be what I want?" Naruto
"Because not everyone likes ramen, Naruto" Sasuke pointed out and Naruto slumped in defeat.
"What do you want, Roxanne" changing the subject, Roxanne looked around and shrugged.
"Meat and veggies with a nice cold drink"
"We should of brought our beers then" Naruto said with a cheeky grin
"And how were we supposed to hide them from plain view?" Sasuke asked with a brow raised and Naruto smirked at him with a roll of the eyes.
"By either the transformation jutsu OR a plain paper bag" Sasuke looked dumbfounded for a second and Roxanne jabbed him with a finger.
"Thought you were the smart one, Sas?" Sasuke blushed a bit but not at the comment. Naruto laughed and Roxanne looked around some more.
"I know. How's about we each split up, get what we want as take out, meet back here and eat at the park underneath the tree?" Both boys thought on it, for like a second before nodding their agreement.
"Great, be back here in 20 minutes and we'll head down together" Once again nodding and both boys took off in different direction as Roxanne watched them leave. Heading to an empty alleyway, Roxanne popped out a clone and gave instructions along with money and the clone left without a word.
Roxanne then went and made an order at a nearby restaurant, with a small smile.
20 minutes, one hot bundle of food and awaiting 2 boys did not deter Roxanne's patience as she sat on a chair that is for sale by one of the hollering merchants. Looking to her right she saw Sasuke coming with a bundle of his own and so got up, tossed a coin to the merchant for sitting on one of his chair and picked up her bundle to walk over to him. Small talk ensued until Sasuke looked over Roxanne's shoulder and gaped at the sight. Roxanne furrowed her brows in confusion at Sasuke's look before turning around herself, only to have her jaws dropped.
There, not 30 feet from where they are standing, is Naruto but not just Naruto but Naruto carrying an oversized bundle on his back with the biggest smile ever. As he came closer, Sasuke shook off his stupor and Roxanne closed her jaw with a click, Naruto waved with a finger and set down his bundle, if you could call it that.
"Hey guys"
"Um Naruto, what the hell is that?" Sasuke asks with Roxanne nodding along.
"Oh, you said we can get anything we want and so I got what I wanted"
"Ramen?!"
"A weeks' worth, yeah" Said with a smile no less.
"What!" Sasuke couldn't believe his eyes or ears but Roxanne laughed it off and gestured for them to come along. Naruto picked up his bundle and followed Roxanne, leaving Sasuke behind to wrap his head around the notion.
"Only you Naruto, only you" Roxanne slapped his arm and laughed.
When Sasuke came to, he noticed that he's alone and so grabbed his own bundle and ran after the laughing duo, which so happens to be just outside the park area.
"Finally snapped out of it, eh Sasuke?"
"How are you not shocked at the sight of this?" He gestured to Naruto's bundle.
Roxanne shrugged. "Cause its Naruto?" asked as a question and Sasuke stopped what he was going to say and thought about it.
He sighs "Yeah, cause its Naruto" and that got a smile from Naruto.
Heading to a well grown tree, the boys noticed a lone figure standing there and as they came closer they saw Roxanne, or her clone waiting patiently. When they stopped and set down their bundle, Naruto needing a bit of help, they noticed a small cooler at the foot of the clone's feet and the boys looked to Roxanne for answer but she smiled and gestured for them all to sit. The clone, when sat, brought the cooler closer, looked around and popped the lid open. Picking something up and handing it to Roxanne, Sasuke gasped in shock while Naruto leaned over and grabbed one himself.
A beer: a nice cold beer under the tree out in public; or so Sasuke almost screeched at them.
"What the HELL are you doing?" and quickly looked around to make sure no one is around to see the atrocity that is in sight there. Roxanne smiled and brought the can up for the 2 to see.
"Watch this" and using one hand, Roxanne made the signs for the transformation jutsu to disguise the can as a soda pop. The boys looked on in shock but Naruto snapped out of it and laughed as Roxanne threw him the can.
"Naruto had given me the idea and since we are on break, might as well indulge" Sasuke sighs and drops his head to his hands, shaking it.
"I swear you two are like the worst influences, next thing you know you'll have me shop lifting or something" Roxanne and Naruto stared at each other, shrugged and Roxanne answered as she popped open a disguised beer.
"Shop lifting? Nah, the worst things we can do is go and hide out in the Forrest of Death and you just end up following us, so who the bad influence now?"
"Still you and him, And. What?" Sasuke looked confused but the subject changed as to not arouse suspicion.
"Whatever man, let's eat" Naruto says and starts unwrapping his bundle as the two did the same.
5 beers later(Both Roxanne and Naruto had 2 while Sasuke only had one saying that he wants to be clear headed if they are going to be out in public), everyone is lounging against the tree, enjoying the breeze and warmth of the afternoon day. Garbage was discarded in nearby bins and stomachs were being digested. Naruto and Roxanne sipped their 3rd beer as Sasuke sighed in contentment.
Until a voice yelled in surprise and eagerness which had all groan in either annoyance or…well more annoyance. Cracking open their eyes; they see Sakura running towards them, waving and yelling Sasuke's name.
"Sasuke, if you value the quietness we just experience then you will get rid of her or else we leave you with her" and with that Sasuke jumped to his feet and met Sakura half way. Naruto and Roxanne watched the scene as if they were watching a movie, sipping on beers and awaiting the verdict.
They didn't have to wait long as Sakura nodded enthusiastic with the biggest smile on her face and took off with a blush and wave. The 2 left behind wondered with interest as Sasuke came back with a gloom expression as he sat back down. Naruto and Roxanne sat quietly staring at Sasuke or spill on what he told the pink one to make her go away.
Sasuke sigh and that can't be good.
"I promised her on Monday that I'll sit beside her for the whole day until she or I gets picked for our group" and shudders at the thought. Silence ensued, that is until a stifled laughter escaped and Sasuke turn to see both Roxanne and Naruto trying to hold in their laughter but their faces are a dead giveaway. Sasuke sighs one more time before the dam broke and both of his companions laughed their hearts out, rolling over him and holding their stomachs with tears of mirth on their faces as they rolled around on each of Sasuke's lap/legs. Just as quickly it happen, it quickly stopped and 2 pairs of eyes stared up at Sasuke. He looked down with confusion at the sudden quietness but Naruto asked a question before Sasuke could open his mouth.
"Ino is so gonna be pissed" and again laughter started. Sasuke humph'ed in annoyance and pulled both Naruto and Roxanne off his lap/legs and stood up. Naruto and Roxanne called him back, apologizing and promising not to laugh again but Sasuke kept walking away.
"Shit, I think we took it too far, Naru" Naruto nodded in agreement and they both got up and took off after Sasuke.
"Come on Sasuke, we're sorry"
"Like really sorry" But Sasuke didn't listen and kept stomping off, but he'll deny that saying that Uchiha's don't stomp. When they caught up to him, Sasuke turned his head the other way so as to not look at them. Naruto pouted but Roxanne had an idea to make Sasuke halt.
"Please sweetie, we're really, really sorry" and that got a reaction: Sasuke stopping abruptly. Turning to he saw the ultimate weapon being turn on him: on one side Naruto's big blue eyes giving him the hurt puppy dog look and on the other side Roxanne's violet teary eyes and both had the cutest pout that had to be illegal in all the Fire Nation. And Sasuke melted.
"Alright, you're forgiven"
"Yay!" Came from both before both Roxanne and Naruto jumped and hugged the life out of Sasuke,; nuzzling his face and neck, much to his embarrassment and liking.
"Thanks sweetie, you're the best" a kiss on the cheek
"Yeah thanks buddy" a slap on the back
"Yeah whatever" but Sasuke didn't really mean that when the grin on his face told otherwise and gave a small shove to the two.
"Hey guys!" a voice shouted from a distance and all three turned to find Kiba running towards them with Akamaru running side him. Roxanne knelt to the ground just as they came closer and picked up the puppy that wagged his tail in glee. Kiba laughed and smacked Naruto on the back, and if the closer eye were to see that Sasuke had a tick in his eye at that gesture, Naruto laughed and greeted Kiba.
"You guys up for anything" Kiba asked and everyone within the vicinity had their attention peaked.
"As long as it's nothing incriminating then I'm in" Roxanne say as she scratched Akamaru behind the ears.
"I'm all for it, Kiba, what you got in mind"
