AN1: I am so sorry it's been so long. I am just crazy busy with school and family and argh, I suck. This is a super short chapter but I promise it's the perfect set-up for what I have coming next. I love you guys. I do not own the Gilmore Girls.

When Rory and Jess got back from the bridge Jess was calm, talking, and ready to deal with his mom. He knew she wouldn't believe in him, but he didn't really care anymore. He was starting to see that he had Luke and Rory and sometimes Lorelei, and that was really all he needed in his corner these days.

Liz was sitting at the counter of the diner squealing with someone with crazy curly hair. As Jess walked in everyone in the diner got quiet. He wouldn't have expected anything less form the gossip hungry residents of Stars Hollow.

Jess simply asked Liz to go upstairs, and Rory followed closely behind.

"Liz, we need to talk." Jess began.

"Jess, call me mom, he never has been one for small talk has he." Liz stated, the latter half directed at Rory.

"Look, why are you here?" Jess asked, ignoring his mother's attempt at small talk.

"I just wanted to see my boy. I'm headed out on the fair circuit selling earrings, thought I'd visit my guys before I left."

"Huh, any questions about what I've been up to lately?"

"Sure, what have you been up to lately?"

"Liz, Rory's pregnant, she's having a baby, and its mine."

"You always were like your father, all books, and music, and girls."

"I'm going to work, I'll see you tonight okay?" Jess asked Rory.

"Yeah, tonight" Rory answered.

Jess grabbed his jacket and walked down the stairs, Rory still following, he kissed her goodbye and left for wal-mart. Rory knew he would be gone for a long time, most likely looking to pull a double shift. He didn't want to be around Liz and he didn't deserve it either. Rory told Luke she was headed home and that she might see him later.

"Lucy I'm home!" Lorelei called when she arrived later that night.

"Kitchen!" Rory called back.

"Is Ricky here too?" Lorelei asked, referring to Jess.

"He probably won't be in until late tonight, Liz is here." Rory stated.

"What?" Lorelei asked.

"He and Liz make you and Grandma look insane." Rory replied.

"What happened?"

"Well she came he ran, I followed, we talked, we went back, he told her about the baby, and she said he was like his father." Rory ran through the days events quickly.

"Wow." Lorelei replied.

"No kidding, you could see the hurt on his face when she said it. He's afraid he'll run and be like his dad and she basically told him that he would be."

"I'm sorry sweets."

"He'll be home late tonight, and we'll talk in the morning. When he's ready."

"Sounds like you've figured it out for the night."

"Yeah, I hope so."

"Yeah."
