Hey, so I've been getting a lot of questions/messages lately so I thought "Hm, these might be common questions that other people have. Maybe I should make a post about it!" So here we go! (No obligation to read these, I just thought it'd be helpful)

Wow, Cecilia, why haven't you updated in 500 years?

Okay, I'm really sorry about that. If you don't know, I took a gap year between high school and college. So when I first started IBYL, it was the first summer after high school and I felt like there was all the time in the world to work on writing. Now, however, is crunch time and I need to prep for college/real adult life. ANYWAYS, I haven't really had the time to write and even when I do have free time, I just don't have the energy for creative writing and editing. Even my (very casual) artwork has been suffering.

OH MY GAWD, SO IS IBYL CANCELLED?/PLEASE DON'T QUIT WRITING THIS!

I promise you, I will never give up on IBYL. There is just too much love and energy put into this fic for me to just quit on it.

Who the hell is Maxysred, and why does she have so many weird, spammy reviews?

Maxysred is my best friend. I wrote the Avengers fic titled "Captain America vs Harvard" for her. She used to help edit IBYL in the early stages. She's great, I swear.

Are you going to answer any questions about the fic/your writing in this?

How long will IBYL be?

Honestly, as long as it needs to be to get to the point that I want it to be. Initially, I thought it'd be about 20 chapters long, but I'm thinking it'll be closer to 30(+?).

CHAPTER 13 sex scene: Did that actually happen?

No, that was a dream sequence. What happened was; as Cath fell asleep she got a text from Levi that said he was coming over. On smartphones you can read the text from the home screen without opening the text, so she only briefly saw it, but didn't realized it because she was on the verge of sleep. So, she had Levi coming over that night on the mind and she had a sex dream about him. (Kind of difficult to explain...)

The shower scene was actually supposed to be poorly written and have a bunch of flaws in it because it was a dream and Cath has no prior knowledge of what sex is like.

When did Levi get so depressing?

He needed more depth in the fic. We didn't need him to magically transform from a great character to a Mary-Sue.

Who is John? Where did he come from? Like, why is he even here?

Physically, John was inspired by Roy G. Biv and Kip Kaizer from Monsterkind (my favorite webcomic) and Bo Burnham. He's just a cute guy :)

His background is from a lot of different places. I have a friend who was molested when he was about four years old, and although he's kind of a little ladies-man now and sexually active, he's a little bit off-put by sex now. Another old friend of mine, had a pretty traumatic toddlerhood, with a drug addicted mom and a shit dad. She was adopted by her aunt, who she calls "mom." There's also a bit of myself in there, not the traumatic bits, just the sense of humor and social anxiety.

The reason I even thought to put John in the story was for Levi. Someone who would love him unconditionally that wasn't in his family. The kind of person that Levi found for himself who would always there. A soulmate without the sexual tension (aka soul-bros.)
A relationship like me and my own best friend. (That would be Maxysred from a few answers up)

What the FUCK is Wrohn?

So, Wrohn is apparently WrenXJohn. That was not my doing, but I gotta say I really dig it conceptually. Probably won't happen, only because I'm not the biggest fan of OCsXCanon Characters. I'll see how far you guys take it and possibly work it in there. Very flattering, nonetheless.

Why did you choose "Pickering" for Levi's middle name?

When I read Fangirl I was like "HOLY SHIT LEVI IS BO BURNHAM HAHAHAHA"
My reasoning? He likes that Cath has two arms ("I have a lot of respect for your arms. I like how they're attached to the rest of you" pg. 309) and his interest in her every-color eyes (dialogue on pg 395).
If that doesn't make sense to you, listen to Repeat Stuff by Bo Burnham and you'll understand.

ANYWHO:
Bo Burnham's middle name is Pickering, so that was a shout out to Bo.

8/7/15 Update

When are they graduating?

Levi is graduating Spring term 2013, but he had to make up a butt-ton of credits he didn't receive Freshman year.
Cath is graduating on time, which is after Spring term 2015
