Chapter 21
Haruhi took hold of Kyoya's hand as they left the doctor's office and got into the car. They had just been told that she was six weeks pregnant. Haruhi leaned against his shoulder, "Pregnancy round two."
Kyoya smiled, "Honestly Haruhi, I'm excited. We're getting married and soon we'll have another kid."
Haruhi turned to Kyoya, "I'm excited. Kyoya, I am so excited for everything that is to come. I just never saw it coming…just like the last time."
Kyoya pulled her onto his lap and kissed her, "I think we are just really good with surprises. Haruhi, I know you were frustrated about going to school while I stayed at home to raise Sora and that you wish you had more time with him. You still have plenty of time to study law and become a successful lawyer. Nothing is lost. Do what you want."
Haruhi held onto Kyoya's shoulders and looked down at him, "I don't want to be a housewife, staying at home all day. You are right though, I wish that I had just a bit more time to devote to being with our son."
"Take that time. You always try to get the deadlines done without the help that Suoh-san has given you. Give yourself leeway for things. Besides, it won't be good for the baby if you stress yourself out."
Haruhi smiled, "You're right. I just…I guess I am the workaholic. Who would've thought?" She laughed and kissed him again before shifting off his lap.
Kyoya grabbed her hand and squeezed it, "We'll be fine."
Haruhi nodded as they felt the car stop and heard the driver announce that they were back at the house. They climbed out of the car and walked back to the house. Opening the door, they heard Sora running up towards them. Kyoya picked him up and hugged him, "Hello Sora, are you almost ready to go? We're all going to your Uncle Hikaru and Kaoru's house soon."
Sora smiled, "Grandpa has been helping me get ready! He's almost done too!"
"Well, let your mother and I go get ready to go out again. Off you go now." Kyoya put him down on the floor and watched him run towards his room. Kyoya turned to Haruhi, "Now, let's get you in that Hitachiin dress. If you don't wear it, the twins will be really upset."
Haruhi sighed, "I hope it fits."
Kyoya smiled at the comment as they made it to their room. He wandered into her closet and picked the dress off the hanger. Kaoru and Hikaru always made sure that Haruhi was well dressed for any event. Kyoya wouldn't have it any other way, especially since the clothes always accentuated her wonderfully. Walking out, he saw Haruhi looking at her naked body in a mirror. She slid her hands down her sides and stopped at just below her belly. Sure enough, there was a small bump protruding from her otherwise slim figure. Kyoya smiled, "Haruhi, you're beautiful."
She looked at him with a mock pout, "You have to say that, I'm going to be your wife and I'm the mother of your children."
Kyoya leaned in and kissed her, "You are very beautiful-being my future wife and mother of my children is just a bonus. Now put on the dress, because it will fit."
Haruhi nodded and pulled on the sea green dress. It was cut to cling to her bust and abs, but the V-trim around her hips let the dress flow out at the bottom. Looking in the mirror, Haruhi spun and smiled, "Perfect job as always. Shall we go?"
They walked back out and saw the other two sitting in the living room. Ranka had Sora in his lap as they played hand games. "Ready to go?" Haruhi asked.
Ranka looked up and saw the two with their hooked arms. "You look stunning Haruhi! Well, both of you do!"
Haruhi hugged her father before they all headed out the door and into the car. It wasn't long before they made it to the Hitachiin mansion. Walking in, they were greeted by the twins. "You're the first ones to arrive! Hey there Sora-kun!" Kaoru came over and scooped Sora into his arms. They all headed up to the living room where the fitting was to take place.
Hikaru hugged Haruhi, "We're so close to the big day. You can't imagine how excited we are!"
"Well, at least this is the last fitting. I love the clothes you make, don't get me wrong, but the fittings are my least favorite part of the process."
Hikaru laughed, "At least we can get you into girly clothes! So, shall we start drinking without the others?" Hikaru motioned to a maid that was walking by with drinks. "I bet it'll make the fitting easier for you Haruhi."
Haruhi fidgeted a bit, "I actually won't be drinking-I've got a lot to do after this."
Hikaru looked at her curiously as everyone else took drinks. "That hasn't stopped you before Haruhi. Just have one drink, it won't hurt you."
"I shouldn't Hikaru."
Hikaru looked at her slyly, "Is there something you're not telling us Haruhi?"
"I don't know what you mean Hikaru."
Kaoru looked over at Sora, who was playing with Usa-chan quietly. "He's asking if you're pregnant again Haruhi. I mean, that would be the only reason you wouldn't even have one drink."
Haruhi gave an exasperated sigh as she heard Kyoya laugh next to her. She elbowed Kyoya, "This isn't funny!"
Kyoya snaked his arms around her and said nothing more. Haruhi sighed, "Damn you guys for being so observant. Can't you just accept that I said no?"
Hikaru shrugged, "You've got to be better at convincing us."
"So are you?" Kaoru asked.
"Yes. I just found out last night, but I really didn't want anyone to know till after the wedding."
The twins smiled at her, "We're honored to be the first ones to find out! Oh, this is so exciting! Congratulations!" They raised their glasses in a toast like manner before drinking.
Ranka looked at Haruhi, "I'm glad to know too. Congrats to both of you!"
Haruhi looked at her father guiltily, "We were going to tell you when we got back from the fitting. I really didn't want anyone to know just yet. It's just so much dad…"
"It's okay Haruhi."
Haruhi leaned back, relaxing a bit. They fell into a comfortable conversation while waiting for the others to get here. They didn't have to wait long as the others started to file in. Haruhi greeted them all while Hikaru started to roundup the men to get them into their tuxes. Kaoru, on the other hand, took the women into another room. Before closing the door, Kaoru turned to Haruhi, "You just stay out here. Hikaru and I want to show you the tuxes and dresses. Your dress comes last, since yours is a secret to everyone."
Haruhi sat back on the couch as Hikaru started to let the guys out to model their tuxes. Slowly, the Host Club men walked out and Haruhi admired the colors. The pants and jacket were black with a white undershirt. However, the tie was a beautiful sea green blue. When Kyoya and Sora walked out, Haruhi couldn't help herself as she walked up to get a closer look. "You both look so handsome!"
Sora smiled and Kyoya pulled her close to him, "I can't wait to see your dress, but Hikaru told me I'll have to wait for it."
Haruhi kissed him, "I promise that it'll be worth it."
Kyoya smiled as Hikaru called them back in. Haruhi looked at Hikaru, "These are wonderful!"
"Wait until you see the dresses!" Hikaru replied back as he closed the door to the men's changing room.
Haruhi then settled herself back on the couch as Kaoru opened the door. Renge, Fuyumi, and Mai filed out to show Haruhi their dresses. The dresses were sea bluish green, much like the dress Haruhi had on. The top of the dress was snug and at the hips the dress flowed loosely around the legs. She stood up again and hugged Kaoru, "These are beautiful!"
Kaoru smiled and waved the girls to go back into the room. He hugged Haruhi before replying, "Why thank you Haruhi. Hikaru and I have worked really hard on these. Now though, why not try on your dress? Come." He held out his hand to her and led her to a private dressing room in the corner of the dressing room. Walking into the room, she saw the dress on a mannequin. Kaoru was behind her observing her awed expression, "I know this is the first time you've seen the finished dress. Hikaru and I only worked on pieces with you, but never the full dress."
Haruhi walked up to it and smiled, "It's…beautiful!"
The twins smiled at her reaction, "We can't wait to see it on you Haruhi." Kaoru walked around and carefully took it off the mannequin. Unabashedly, Haruhi took off her dress so she could step into the new one. Hikaru zipped it up as Haruhi looked into the mirror. The base color of the dress was white and clung to her bust and flowed out around the hips to stop at her feet. The top of the dress was wrapped with a see-through sea green and a strip that went from the waist to the end of the dress. Haruhi smiled as she looked at herself in the mirror, but then noticed Kaoru walking back with a few items in his hands.
"Important little things," Kaoru told her as he laid them out. There were sea green 1.5" heels, a veil that had the sea green trimmings on the end, white gold heart-shaped earrings with aquamarine stones inset, and a matching necklace. Hikaru took the shoes and kneeled down to put them on her feet while Kaoru put the earrings and necklace on her. For the final touch, Kaoru took the veil and showed her the tiara on it, "Kyoya always called you a princess, so why not make you a real tiara?"
Haruhi's eyes glazed over with tears up as she took it in her hands, "Doing my hair now would probably be a pain, but this is so beautiful!"
"We would really prefer to keep this outfit a secret. You look stunning Haruhi and we're really happy that you let us make this for you," Hikaru told her, giving her a hug.
Haruhi handed the tiara back to Kaoru and wiped her eyes. "Emotional as usual," Kaoru joked as he placed the tiara on the dresser.
"Let's get you out of this dress and back to Kyoya. I think a week before the wedding we can double check the measurements to make sure everything fits. You're early on though, so from what we remember nothing should change too much."
Haruhi gave a grateful smile as she felt Hikaru unzipping her dress. "We'll let you get changed. Just lay the dress on the chair and put the jewelry on the dresser." With that, the two slipped out to join the others.
Haruhi carefully slipped out of the shoes and dress. Just as she was instructed, she put the dress on the chair and the jewelry on the dresser. Leaning down, she picked her other dress off the floor and put it back on. Moving out of the room, she went to join the others. Sora ran up to greet her and she scooped him up into her arms, "Why hello there Sora-chan!" Sora hugged Haruhi's neck and yawned. Haruhi stroked his hair gently, "It has been a long day…hasn't it?"
Kyoya came up to her, "I think so too. Maybe turning in early would be a great idea. Sorry to cut this party short everyone, but I think it is time for us to get dinner and just relax. Thanks to everyone who came and we'll see you all at the reception dinner."
All of their friends agreed and bid them farewell as they gathered their stuff. Haruhi held Sora as they piled into the car. As soon as Ranka shut the door the driver started to head home. "So…did you like the dress?"
Haruhi looked up at her dad, "I loved the dress! I'm so excited for all of you to see it. The twins think they won't have to do many alterations to it either."
Kyoya put his arm around her, "I am so excited to see you in it. The twins told me that no one but the three of you can see it till the wedding."
Haruhi smiled at him teasingly, "It will be worth the wait."
Kyoya leaned in and kissed her before looking down at their son, "Everything is worth the wait."
The car then stopped and the driver told them that they were home. Ranka pushed open the door and led them inside. It was time for them to start dinner and get ready for bed. They had a lot of things on their minds, but the need to rest was what they really needed to do first. So they piled into the house to do just that.
