A/N: I've always been a bit confused by Nana. I'm sure it's a cultural thing, but I feel Ri would have reacted like this and done something like this. So here's the finish of the arch, we'll be onto another starting next Wednesday!

The Adventures of Skull and Ri

8.5: Meeting the Vongola (Terrorizing Reborn), Part 5

Sawada Nana was not completely oblivious as most suspected, however it took a stern look from Ri-san one day when she was mid-fret over Tsuna's uselessness to realize she was actually hurting Tsuna, though her son seemed to be accepting of her unintended barbs. The look on the slender cross dresser's face spoke of disbelief, anger, and reprimand. The green eyes had then turned sympathetically towards her son and the kind expression had firmed on Ri-san's face, a look that was sisterly and motherly all rolled up into one. When Nana finally glanced at her son and actually listened to what he and Ri-san were talking about she felt shame.

"How's school been, Tsuna-kun?" Ri-san asked as he filled Tsuna's teacup, gave Lambo a cookie and kept Reborn under control, the strange baby now teen eyeing the slim figure with a deeply-entrenched respect and wariness.

"Ahahahaha," her boy laughed, "Ever since you got the teachers to actually teach and keep the bullies from picking on me and Enma-san class has been much better. My grades have gone up since then too, especially math."

"I'm glad," Ri-san said with a warm smile as their tea was sipped. "I was furious when En-chan came home with a black eye. How is your wrist?" He asked in concern, "I heard you twisted it or something?"

What?!

Nana hadn't known Tsuna had gotten injured.

When had she grown blind to the troubles he faced every day, the bullying and harsh lessons he'd been subject to?

"Sprained actually," Tsuna answered, "It's much better now." Ri-san hummed with a nod.

"Ne, Tsuna-kun," Ri-san said leaning forward, "Skull and I are taking En-chan and the rest of the kids to Italy and France for the summer, would you like to pack up your friends and mum and come with? I'm sure you and Nana would love to get away from Namimori." Nana blinked and glanced at Ri-san in confusion. Ri-san smiled at her encouragingly.

"You can reconnect and bond a little, I know Tsuna's friends have kept him busy and you've been busy with the munchkins. You could take a day, even a week, for just the two of you," Ri-san offered to Nana who suddenly felt like blinking back tears.

"That would be fun," Nana replied cheerfully, a well of gratitude springing up in her. She wasn't losing her son! She wasn't going to lose her son!

She felt untold gratitude towards Ri-san's gentle reprimand and reconciliation efforts.

Tsuna thoughtfully nodded before smiling widely at Nana.

"That would be nice, you've been so busy with Lambo and I-Pin lately we could use it." Tsuna said with a wide grin she'd never seen on him before. "Want to tour Rome with me, kaa-chan? Maybe Venice?"

Nana blinked away tears and hugged Tsuna, burying her nose in that long shaggy hair and breathing in his almost forgotten scent.

"Hai!"
