The months went by fairly quickly. Severus' mother was back on her feet and was doing well on her own. Soon the O.W.L. exams would come up and everyone was busy studying for them if they weren't doing homework. Well, almost everyone anyways. The marauders gang and Alice decided it wasn't exactly worth their time.
Alice sat in the library with Lucius and Severus, supposedly studying but was really reading behind her text book. Lucius noticed she wasn't taking notes on anything and figured out that she wasn't studying. He wasn't going to say anything though. She did what she wanted to anyways and this might start something with Severus. That was the last thing anyone needed right now.
Slowly, Alice slipped her book into one of her robe pockets and closed the text book. "I'm gonna go sneak down to the kitchens for some food, I'll see you guys later." She told them, before walking off. Dinner wasn't for another few hours and since there was nothing better to do, Alice decided to stretch her legs out a bit. She ran into Narcissa on the way down and invited her with. Since she had no headphones, she figured having a friend would be better than the madness of silence.
The pair made their way towards the owlery since Narcissa had to mail off a letter anyways. "So, how are things with Lucy?" Alice questioned
Narcissa laughed at the nickname replying with, "Lucius and I are doing rather well. But we haven't seen each other too much because of the studying."
"Oh Merlin. Is he on you about studying like crazy?"
"No. Why, is Severus like that?"
"Yes! And it's going to start a fight if he doesn't leave me alone about it. Honestly, he should know by now that I don't study and I don't give that big of a damn about the O.W.L.'s."
"The storm clouds are rolling in, aren't they?"
"Most likely Cissa." Alice sighed as they walked up the steps to the owlery.
A few days later, Narcissa was right. The storm had hit, and it wasn't pretty. Alice and Severus had been sitting outside together, Severus taking notes of course, and Alice was flipping through a couple of her comic books for a pose to draw. Just as she found the right one, Severus looked over. "Shouldn't you be studying?" he asked.
"Nah, don't think so" was her response.
"Why not? The tests are only a few days away."
"And? You make it sound like it's the end of the world if I don't study."
"It might be for you, if you don't"
"Oh please Severus. You know I don't give two shits about studying. It's dull, boring, tedious, pick a word."
"You know that's one of your problems, Alice. If it's boring or seems unimportant to you, you generally want nothing to do with it."
"Well than consider it a miracle that I find suicide completely cowardly."
"What's that supposed to mean?" he asked, head snapping towards her.
"It means I'm bored with the world Severus! Yes, I'm glad for magic, but for crying out loud, I want something interesting in my life. I want to go on an adventure, or down the rabbit hole! I want Wonderland!"
"How would that bloody white rabbit make you happy?" he asked, holding up one of the comics.
"Easy!" she told him, snatching the comic back, "I wouldn't be bored. I would be happy, able to fight. It wouldn't be here. Here where hardly anything interesting actually happens. I'm just bored with the world okay? It's so damn dull!"
Before Severus could say anything else, Alice grabbed her things and headed for the castle. She was pissed, beyond reason right now. But if there was one thing she would not do right now, was cry in front of people. She hated looking weak, and that's how she felt about crying, and right now. Not even thinking where she was going, she went to her dormitory, knowing no one else would be there at the moment, which was perfect.
She threw her bag on the foot of the bed, a few comics leaning out, and pulled the curtains tightly shut. That's when she let all her anger and frustration out. She didn't want to fight with her boyfriend, but she knew it would come. She also didn't want to be bored with the world, she wanted an adventure. To be a heroine or something. Alice's gaze fell on her comics, releasing a new wave of frustration. If she hadn't been collecting them for so long, she would've set them on fire. But she just couldn't bring herself to do that.
Alice was too attached to her books and entertainment. She could never bring herself to destroy what she loved so much. She was attached to her wonderland, and she knew it. But ever since she had been dating Severus, it seemed like she was getting a bit less attached. She wasn't sure if she liked it or not at the moment. All Alice wanted at the moment was to be held. She was a complete cuddleslut but no one really did that, so she ignored it.
Alice grabbed one of the comics and looked at it with a sad smile. "Dammit Wonderland," she barely whispered, "What have you done?"

AN: What am I doing with this story? I've gone so far off the original story line. Well, have some feels now. I figured they should get in a fight because not every couple is perfect. Got some stuff coming up soon in this. Hope you enjoyed!
