A/N: Alright so we're back on track right? Well maybe not quite just enough time to redeem myself? Eh… Well other than that, I can say that the last chapter was considerable short but I wanted to let you guys be aware of what my next move was and about Lucy's relationship with Natsu. I decided that I might want to work on those two for a little bit, together and individually. I wanted you guys to be more aware of the struggles that they are having to go through and hopefully… in this chapter, it will explain more. Um. So… I hope that lemon made you guys happy! I know some of you were begging for some more action. So there it is!
Previously…
They sat in silence. Nothing heard but breathing. He waited for her. Waited for her to reach her calm. He traced his fingers up her spine before holding her close to him. He ran his fingers through her hair as he felt her tears on his chest. He knew she would cry. He knew she probably wasn't ready to do this with him yet. She was still grieving and needed just a friendly hug not sex. Maybe he was selfish but he didn't want her to leave his side ever. He wanted her to park her little ass right next to him and never leave him again.
Chapter 21 || Sugar this is gospel
"I should go," Lucy said, shuffling to get her clothes back on. No way. He wasn't going to let her go away again.
"No. You should stay," Natsu said, grabbing her wrists. The blonde merely looked at him before yanking her hand away from his grasp.
"I should. And you should stay the hell away," she said. By this point he was angry. She was the one who had started this. She who kissed him, made him think that she wanted to get back together with him. He angrily grabbed her wrist again before glaring at her.
"Stay away? What the hell do you mean stay away? After what we just did?"
"It didn't mean anything!" She said, her voice getting louder. "You tricked me, made me fall for you. You… You seduced me!" She said, disgust obvious in her voice. Natsu scoffed.
"Seduced you? You're the one who came to me. You kissed me. You wanted this just as much as me!"
"You know, you're an asshole. You knew that I wasn't ready. You should have stopped me!"
"Stopped you? You're a grown ass woman. If you weren't ready, you should have stayed your ass at home. I'm not your babysitter." Lucy was silent for a minute. She didn't know what to say. She wouldn't admit that he was right. It was all his fault. It was all his fault for what he had done to her. What he had put her through for these past months they'd known each other. Natsu wasn't what she needed. He was a drug. A dangerous drug and she needed to stop getting a high off of him.
"It doesn't matter. You're still at fault. What you put me through… That girl or whatever you got pregnant—
"I didn't get her pregnant! I told you that!"
"Yeah? And what if you had? You would have gladly left me for her!"
"You were the one who told me to break things off! I was willing to stay with you! I wanted to stay with you!"
"Yeah of course. You'd probably lie again… Whisper that you love me in my ear but really you only want one thing. You're just a pervert. I can see why people don't want to stay around you. More or less, your mother knew before hand to leave you behind. I should have done the same…" Lucy said, her voice cracking. Natsu sat up more, letting go of her.
"You know what Lucy… I'm done. I don't care anymore… Maybe I would have cheated on you? Lisanna was always pretty… funny… She certainly wouldn't rub her shit in my face!" He yelled. Almost barked at her like a vicious dog. Lucy frowned, her eyes were stinging but she wouldn't dare let a tear slip from her eyes. "I can't believe I came all the way over here for this. Canceled my tour… For you. I can't believe I was ready to deny what could have been my child, for you. I give up everything for you… But truth be told, you're just a broken mirror, an empty promise, a shell even. I liked it better when the only redeeming quality of you wasn't just your boobs," Natsu said, leaning back and turning his TV on. He knew she was offended by the way she stood there. He could see her clench her fists from the corner of his eye. He didn't care though. She could pout and whine all she wanted, he wasn't going to deal with any of it. He didn't want to deal with it. He won't. Ever. If what happened meant nothing, then she was just using him. His jaw clenched at the thought and his eyes narrowed towards the TV. He couldn't even pay attention to what was playing, she was just standing there.
"Get your shit and go," Natsu said, his voice was cold and cut through her like she was butter. "I'm assuming I didn't fuck you too hard you can't walk your ass to the door… Or at least crawl. Apparently you're good at getting on your knees right?" Now he was just mocking her, pouring salt into her wound. He refused to care. He refused to open his mouth again to apologize, kiss her, and make sure she's okay. He didn't want to want her. He didn't want to need her. He heard her laugh maniacally before leaving his room, slamming the door, and making a vase drop. He wasn't picking that up. He turned the channel, looking for something at least half decent to watch. He wasn't in the mood for Game of Thrones after certain circumstances caused him to throw the remote out of hands. His mind kept running back to Lucy although these thoughts were diminished by his stubborn behavior. No way would he be with a broken girl like her.
Lucy had gotten into her car before driving off. Tears ran down her cheek angrily. She didn't know what she was thinking, coming over his house. She had originally wanted to just mend their relationship by becoming friends but the way he looked at her. She hadn't seen his gaze in such a long time that she wanted to drink him all up like her favorite wine. Only thing is, he isn't. He's a human and she totally disregarded his feelings. She understood that now that she had left from his house but she knew he probably didn't want to see her again. No, she knew he didn't want to even hear her name. Maybe there was no hope for them after all? Maybe the whole thing with Lisanna and Michelle just proved that they were in two separate worlds. They couldn't be together no matter how hard they tried to be happy. Lucy drove in silence until she had arrived at her house. Entering the door, she was immediately greeted by Levy.
"Lu-chan!"
"Not now, Levy."
Levy cringed at her melancholy tone. Wherever hurried off to just a few hours ago must have really gotten to her. Plus it was late. Where was she coming from? Lucy hurries up stares before slamming the door behind her. Levy stared off before heading into the kitchen to see Erza eating strawberry cake and Juvia drinking a huge bottle of water. "Was that Lucy just now?" Erza questioned. Levy nodded.
"She's in a really bad mood."
"Why?"
"Probably a love rival…"
"Juvia please…."
Back in her room, Lucy buried herself in her sheets. She had absolutely nothing to do now but attempt to sleep soundly after what just happened. Her legs were sore, her eyes kept pouring tears, her heart beat kept increasing, and she couldn't catch her breath. Was this really the effect Natsu had on her? She wouldn't allow it. Snuggling in the sheets, Lucy closed her eyes preparing for the long night and the emotional day that would come after it. Lucy's eyes snapped open when she heard a loud bang. She looked at her phone. It was seven in the morning. Sliding her feet into her slippers, Lucy ran downstairs to see the source of the strange noise. Walking downstairs she saw Erza and Sting bickering.
"Idiot that was a priceless vase!"
"I'll pay you back!"
"Didn't you hear what I said? Priceless."
"What's going on here?" Lucy said. Sting and Erza looked at her and Sting blushed and scratched his head. Lucy's jaw clenched. That's exactly what Natsu did when someone found out something he did. It annoyed her. She wanted him to stop. She wanted him to go.
"Sting broke a vase when he rushed in here!"
"Why wasn't the door locked?"
"Shut up, that's off topic."
Lucy sweat dropped before glaring at Sting. "Why're you here? I hadn't seen you since… yeah." Sting looked at her.
"Huh? Oh, yeah! I just, uh…" Sting pulled out flowers awkwardly before handing them to her. "This is just me… sending my co…ca dolese." Lucy smirked and accepted the flowers.
"You mean condolences? "
"I guess." He said. Of course he probably wouldn't want to admit that he didn't know how to pronounce a simple word but she wasn't judging anyone.
"I actually… Wanted to take you out…sometime," he said awkwardly. Lucy scoffed. Was he really trying to make a move on her? She for sure thought that Sting would title her as weird and hormonal for crying like she did at the party. It was just that song had brought up a lot of memories that she couldn't handle.
"Sure." She said. She was taking a huge risk though. She could definitely fall back on her butt for this. Sting could definitely let her down or she could let herself down. No way was she over Natsu, whose shadow sting lingered between her and her happiness. She was definitely going to end up hurt. But it was a risk that she would take… She quickly dressed herself despite not showering the day before. She didn't want to keep him waiting forever for her. Plus, she smelled fine. She brushed her teeth quickly, accidentally scratching the side of her gum too hard that she started to bleed.
"I'm ready!" Lucy said, coming down the steps. She wore a pink tank top with shorts, dark shades, and a cowboy hat. Sting laughed at her.
"The hells that?"
"It's my cover up! I may have given up life as a singer but I'm sure to still get attention…"
"Cocky now?"
"Just being realistic."
"If you say so," Sting said. He smirked, It was his signature move to Lucy. He was so smug. So snide. But she liked it. "Ready to go?" He asked and Lucy nodded.
"Where are we even going?" Lucy asked as they got into his black charger.
"Somewhere nice and secluded."
"Not your house right?"
"Huh? I mean, no, unless… You want to?"
No way. She learned her lesson. "No thanks," she said. She should have said this earlier.
"Okay. But worry not, it's just a little restaurant… We can sneak in through the back so people won't see us."
"I can deal with that…"
"So formal…"
"So comfortable… I could be a murderer. You don't know me, Sting."
"Yeah… But I know of you. I'm pretty sure no murderer becomes some pop singer."
"Some pop singer? Do you know who I am?"
"Lucy Heartfilia. Renowned teen sensation. You've won several awards and you have more than fifteen million followers on twitter. Your fan base is sky rocketing and you have a lot of money, not only from your career, but from your rich and pretentious father, who owns several Railways. You have just quit from your position as singer and currently reside in New York with your friends. Your sister died in a terrible accident and you are currently going through a break up…" Sting said. "This is all from magazines though…"
"You do your research…"
"Just as any other jealous wife."
"You're a jealous wife?"
"That was a metaphor."
"Do you even know what a metaphor is?"
"No."
"Okay."
They arrived at the restaurant where they were instructed to go around the back for discretion. They pretty much had to be made a table in the storage room and eat there. At least for them, the food was pretty amazing. "Having fun, babe?"
"I'm not your babe and I'm intrigued."
"Really?"
"It's not every day you get to eat five star food in a storage closet."
"Hey, it was either this or the freezer."
"Or… we could have ordered the food and went back to my place and ate it…"
"But all your friends are there."
"And?"
"I wanted this to be a date between me and you."
Lucy looked at him quizzically. "Why?"
"Look. I'm interested in you okay?"
"Oh yeah? What's so interesting about me?" Lucy said, leaning forward on her elbows.
"I like your brown eyes."
She kept leaning forward. "And?"
"I love your smile."
"And?"
"I love your hair."
"Oh yeah?"
"And I think you're beautiful…" He said. Lucy smiled before leaning back in her chair.
"You're really a man of words, Sting Eucliffe."
"Ah, you know of me?"
"I know you are a son of a powerful man…"
"And I know you are a daughter of a powerful man."
"Why say that?"
"It means we are a power couple!"
"You're full of it, you know?"
The night went smoothly between the two. Whatever Sting said, Lucy shot back at him with a witty response that made him want her more. She knew it did and that's why she did it. She didn't need Natsu to make her happy. There are other fish in the sea and they're just waiting to be caught in her net. She knew that Sting's feeling for her weren't genuine. She knew what genuine feelings were. The feelings that Natsu had expressed to her. Sting was just another boy. He wanted what she could give him rather than what they could feel for each other. It was fine for her though. It didn't matter though. Natsu was out the picture along with all of his dramas. Her career was out of the way too. She could do anything she wanted. She had all the money in the world and that could give everything! Hell, she could learn to pole dance now! The whole night was just them talking and eating and drinking. After a while they had started to play an alcohol game, resulting in her getting drunk. He took her home. Not to her house but to his apartment. Luckily for her and unfortunately for him, nothing happened. She just fell asleep on his bed, snoring and all.
Meanwhile…
"Freed… I want to go on that tour now."
"We can't go just yet. We don't have the budget for that and plus… Some people refuse to see you perform because you broke up the band."
"Ugh."
"I think you should get the band back together."
"What?"
"You heard me," Freed said. Freed picked up a couple flashcards before handing them to Natsu. "These are the boy's new numbers and things to say when they answer. Don't say anything dumb," Freed said. Natsu rolled his eyes but inside he knew he wanted to be back with his best friends. Gajeel, Gray, Jellal… He missed them sorely.
"I'm on it."
Natsu picked up the company phone before dialing their number He looked at what the flash cards said: 'Sorry for the inconvenience. Join me again. I'm fired up?' "What the fuck Freed…" Natsu mumbled. After fiteen seconds of ringing, someone finally answered. It was a gruff sounding and slow "hello." Natsu knew that voice.
"Stripper." He said.
"Hah!? Who is this!?"
"It's me you dumbass! Who were you expecting!?"
"Shut up! I knew it was you! You're the only one that sounds like a hyena!"
"A hyena!? You damn…"
"Slanty-eyed"
"Droopy-faced"
"FREAK!" They said in unison. Of course this was the beginning of their one hour verbal fight before meeting behind a warehouse and fighting until they were bruised up. Gajeel and Jellal were there too. While Jellal stayed out of everything, Gajeel totally jumped in pounded them both into the dirt. Not that they'd let him win after that. It went on until nightfall and they had decided to join back together simple to fight some more. Freed figured he'd have to get the band's budget up… They literally destroy everything they touch. And they were so loud. So loud. They renamed the band too.
"E.N.D!"
"E.N.D!"
"E.N.D!"
The lights shimmered off the stage. The crowed looked like a hundred dots to them. They all bounced back and forth, jumping up and down. When they heard the band was getting back together, they were ecstatic. Freed had managed to cover up them actually breaking apart by stating they were: 'taking a break,' in a recent press release. Everyone was happy that they hadn't totally given up on the band. Natsu's fan girls were happy he was now officially single again. Or so they had heard. Lucy had managed to stay away from the spotlight which had made Natsu anxious and yet relieved as well.
Sugar we're going down.
Panic at the disco/Fallout Boy (Mashup)
This is gospel for the fallen ones
Locked away in permanent slumber
Assembling their philosophies
From pieces of broken memories
Am I more than you bargained for yet
I've been dying to tell you anything you want to hear
Cause that's just who I am this week
Lie in the grass, next to the mausoleum
I'm just a notch in your bedpost
But you're just a line in a song
When gnashing teeth and criminal tongues conspire against the odds
But they haven't seen the best of us yet
If you love me let me goWe're going down, down in an earlier round
And Sugar, we're going down swinging (If you love me let me go)
I'll be your number one with a bullet
A loaded god complex, cock it and pull it
'Cause these words are knives that often leave scars
The fear of falling apart
And truth be told, I never was yours
The fear, the fear of falling apart
…
He sung this song with Gray who's voice had matches his own in a nice harmony. He was thankful that he had friends like them. Even though Natsu was ready to leave them behind, they still had his back when he came begging for them to be by his side. He wouldn't leave them again. He made that promise to himself on the stage and a promise to them with his singing. He wouldn't stop performing either. He'd keep going until he was on top of the world. He'd even make her grovel beneath him. It was a high that he couldn't get off of and he loved every second of it.
"They've gotten really good…"
"I know."
"Why do think they named themselves E.N.D?"
"I can't say."
"Lucy?"
"Yes?"
"Sing.
