Hi everyone, have another chapter!
To Not so human I'm sorry about the confusion! You can interpret this story however you want to, I think it is a little bit AU. But yeah, you can interpret the facts however it is that you see them.
Thanks everyone for the great reviews! It's great to hear everyone's opinions.
On to the story! :D
It had been a long time since Envy had left to reclaim those two stupid brats who had dared to try and outsmart them: the Homunculi. It had been exactly thirty-eight minutes and forty-three seconds. That was sufficient time for Envy to have re-captured both girls and brought them back to the Goodman household, at least Lust thought so. The conclusion to draw from this seemed obvious, either the girls were proving themselves more difficult to snatch than they had been the first time or Envy had gotten himself into a situation that required more effort.
"Gluttony," Lust summoned the short, chubby beast to her side and then smiled fondly at him. Neither of the Homunculi noticed when Ed's eyes cracked themselves open wearily and immediately began to listen in to the conversation that was going on before him. Ed's whole body ached and he was desperate to somehow escape, but at this point he figured it was probably better to gather information given his current limbless situation, "It would seem that the brats may have managed to ruin our plans. With Envy after those girls, we now have no one to greet Alphonse."
Ed felt a wave of relief wash over him and a smug expression crossed his face briefly before he heard Gluttony suggest, "I'll watch the yummy alchemist." With that remark, the colour drained from Ed's face at the thought of being alone with the Homunculus that would almost certainly eat him at the very first chance he had. But to his amazement, Lust shook her head and wiggled her finger at Gluttony in a 'no-no' gesture. The Homunculus took a graceful, sweeping step towards Gluttony and then placed a hand on the top of his head, making him look up into her glinting eyes.
"If I left Edward here alone with you, you'd gobble him all up before I came back, wouldn't you?" She said dramatically in a baby-voice. Gluttony laughed a loud, broken laugh and nodded his great round head vigorously. With that clarified, Ed opened his eyes and stared up at Lust and Gluttony. He could feel his heart beating fast and the hand that he still had felt like it had pins and needles in it as he felt fear growing in the pit of his stomach. But he was Edward Elric! He didn't get scared – don't be absurd!
As though trying to prove that he wasn't afraid of his captors, Ed forced a laugh and then winced slightly at the aches and pains that were dotted around his body, but mainly concentrated around his head. Lust's head whipped around at the sound and darkened her face with a frown when she saw the boy's amber eyes glaring back at her, "So, your plans are a bust. What's next? Even if you had somehow managed to get Al, I would never have turned you human. The last thing humanity needs is more bastards like you who think they can do whatever they want!"
"You may be right," Lust said softly. Her face was facing towards the ground and looked, mournful? Ed's face creased in confusion wondering whether he had just heard her right. But the she raised her face to meet his sight again with a crazed expression on her features, "You might resist now. But in a few months time, when I have tortured you and moulded you to whatever I want, I won't have to force you. You'll do it yourself without me even having to ask."
Ed was horrified at her words. What exactly had she planned for him? It had to be something big if she thought that after enduring it he would completely change his ways and willingly change her from Homunculus to human. Maybe they were going to brainwash him? Or torture him until he no longer had any sense about him? There were so many ways that this could go, and Ed didn't like a single one of them. He had to get out of there, someone had to come and save him. He refused to even think of the possibility that he might someday think nothing of sacrificing another life for the sake of these monsters. Either way, Ed was speechless: at a total loss for words. Lust was pleased to see that she had disturbed him so much that even he, famous for his big mouth, was rendered speechless.
"Come, Gluttony. I guess we'll have to go to Dublith." Lust sighed melodramatically. At that, Ed's chest tightened. Just as he learned that his brother was no longer at risk of being captured by Envy and as every passing moment built up his confidence of Winry's safety, Ed as reminded of his own problems. He was still being held against his will by two Homunculi who could definitely kill him if they decided that they no longer needed him.
In short, Ed didn't want to leave Rush Valley if he could help it. If Al was anywhere near finding him, then he was near to finding him in Rush Valley, not Dublith that lay to the south. Ed thought quickly and ended up blurting out his question in a far more panicked voice than he had intended, silently cursing himself when he saw the crude smile that appeared on Lust's face at his obvious worry, "What about Envy? Are you just going to leave him here?"
"Of course not. Don't be stupid Edward Elric," Lust said, enunciating every syllable of him name with sarcasm, "Envy knows the back-up location. The moment he realises that we are gone, he'll meet us there. Now, Gluttony, go and fetch Ed's leg will you. He'll need it if we're going to walk to Dublith."
At this, Ed's stomach dropped an extra mile at the thought of going through a reattachment at the hands of someone who didn't professionally deal with auto-mail. It was going to hurt, he knew it was. It was going to hurt so much. The alchemist was so busy worrying about the imminent pain that he knew was coming if he didn't so something, that he barely even noticed when Gluttony returned with one of his missing body parts. Gluttony dragged the leg over to Lust who laid it down next to where Ed's eyes were watching it closely with beads of sweat appearing on his forehead from sheer nerves.
"If you reattach that, I'll barely be able to move for hours." Ed ended up whispering. He hadn't even meant to let it slip out, but it had to be said. He didn't want to be subjected to a beating because he physically unexpectedly couldn't move after the leg had been reattached. He was still trying to rest the bruises he had already acquired from Envy and the head injury that still placed black dots in his vision every time he moved.
"Oh, you'll move alright," Lust contradicted him, "This place is rigged to be blown to pieces half an hour after I initiate my sequence. So if you want to live, then you'll get moving pretty quickly after we stick that leg back where it belongs."
Thanks for reading, I hope you're enjoying this.
I'll upload some more soon!
