Chapter 21: A Deal
In the dark room, pants can be heard as well are heart beating against someone's chest. Faint sounds are made as if someone is testing their patience. Suddenly a voice was heard "shine the lights" the room was filled with lights as it shone on two people in the room. The one sitting in a chair was Spirit wearing a serious look on his face and from across of him is Soul who had a bored look on his face. He is put in binds around his body the one that was used on Medusa. Soul stare at Spirit like he's some old toy he want to throw in the trash like the toy disgust him.
Spirit stare at Soul before he spoke "so Soul"
"yes asshole" Soul remark.
Spirit left eyebrow twitch before he sigh "why are you here?"
"to talk to Death idiot" Soul said.
"he can't talk to you right now" Spirit said.
Soul raise an eyebrow in curiosity "why not?"
"he have business to deal with"
"like what business?" Soul asked.
Spirit lean forward before speaking "to deal with you Soul" Soul narrow his eyes in slight anger. If Lord Death is trying to get rid of him in one fell swoop like he's some kind of bug then he have another thing coming. Soul growl silently as he felt his anger boiling inside his chest.
"just try Death and trust me you'll see hell" Soul thought in anger.
Lord Death scowl at the mirror like he lost interest to it. He took his hand and put it on the mirror before sighing "Soul...all this time you were a witch...killing every student and innocent without showing mercy" Lord Death thought. He'll never admit to the others but Soul happen to be one of his favorite death scythes in the academy. Soul make him laugh, keep him company and come to him when he need his help hell he even sit and drink tea with him.
Lord Death sigh as he remember that one time when he was teaching Soul the reaper-chop and his first victim was Spirit who walk in the wrong time and got hit in the head causing the death god to laugh himself to tears. He frown slightly "why Soul?" he thought in question. Suddenly he receive a call from Spirit as he appeared on the mirror "what is it Spirit?" Lord Death asked.
Spirit clear his throat "we're having problem...Soul not talking something tell me he have some wicked plan up his sleeves"
"really? Is there anything to make him talk?"
"only if we let him talk to you" Spirit answered.
Lord Death hummed in thought "if we let him come to me then maybe" he look at Spirit before speaking "let him in and tell him I'm ready to talk" Spirit stare at him in shock.
"but Lord Death"
"now Spirit" Lord Death said in his scary voice. Spirit nod before he disappeared leaving the death god alone "what are you planning Soul?" he whispered.
Soul is walking with Spirit who is behind him. Beside him are two soldiers keeping an eye on him. Soul still having an frown on his face look at Spirit "so Death Scythe are you going to kill me after this conversation?"
Spirit snarl silently "no but I will make sure you don't do anything stupid"
"please you don't know my tricks" Soul smiled.
"watch your mouth witch we know you'll strike when you had the chance" Spirit spat.
Soul chuckled "you got that right but I got more tricks up my sleeves that you'll never see it coming"
"yeah that might get you killed" Spirit said making Soul laugh in amusement.
"maybe but we just had to see" Spirit roll his eyes but frown a little. In case you didn't know Spirit felt bad for Soul's friends after they found out about his secret. Kid was depress, his two little angels were sad, the Thompson sisters try to comfort Kid but they were just as depress as him, Tsubaki sometimes cry but worst of all he felt bad for Black*Star. He fail to believe that Soul is a witch even though he was born as one to begin with, he get angry and yell at anyone who bad mouth Soul but worst of all when no one's around he'll cry in sadness like he just lost someone who is a part of him.
Spirit sigh as they made it to the room "okay ready Soul?"
"I was born ready" Soul said. Spirit smile slightly.
"at least he still his normal self" he thought before he open the door. When its open, Soul eyes widen as he see not only Death and his death scythes, Nygus, Sid and Stein but he also see his friends wearing their spartoi uniform.
"well this is surprising" Soul said as they walk up to Lord Death who is looking at Soul like he's some precious doll that is ready to turn into grotesque monster which will never happen for a very long time.
"Hello Soul" Lord Death said. Soul smile at him cutely almost making Lord Death to bend down and hug him cause he is so freakin' adorable.
"hello Lord Death" Soul said. Marie almost snort at Soul's cuteness but hold it in.
"that little bastard" Soul smirk and side-glance at Marie like he read her thought before looking back at the death god.
"so Soul you're ready to talk?" Lord Death asked.
Soul smiled "yes but first" he hop to him still smiling "can you take these binds off it's really uncomfortable seeing how Mesa deal with this when she first wear them" Soul gesture his binds to him as if he trying to bribe him "pretty please kitty?" Kid gritted his teeth silently.
"Soul"
"okay Spirit would you do the pleasure as to take them off" Lord Death said.
"yes sir" Spirit took out the keys and started taking the binds off "no funny business okay Soul"
"okay" Soul smiled at Spirit.
Once the binds is off, Soul stretch making a popping sound from his bones before he realize something "wait I know this part...Mesa told me about this...its when Lord Death do his special"
"REAPER-CHOP" Lord Death chop Soul in the head causing him to groan in pain as he grasp his head.
"don't you think that was harsh?" Spirit asked.
"come on for what he did he could at least get one chop" Lord Death swing his arm doing the reaper-chop in the air while Spirit dodge it.
Soul sniff a little while rubbing his head with his hood off "goddamn that reaper-chop hurts like hell" he put his hood back on his head as the pain went away "when I heard that the reaper-chop is worst than Maka-chop I take extra cautious not to piss him off but one way or another I got the damn chop to the head" Soul's tail flick to the left before wrapping it around his feet "it hurt more than Maka-chop damn"
"c'mere Soul" Soul blink as Lord Death pick him up by the hood.
"Now what do you want to talk about hmm?" Lord Death asked. Soul blink again before he felt something on his loincloth "are you going to talk?" Lord Death hold the loincloth and starts playing with it making Soul blush.
"my loincloth" Soul squeak "really? my loincloth wow you want to embarrass me huh?" Soul thought before he smile "excuse me can you put me down please?"
"of course" Soul was put down as he fix his loincloth.
"aww he dress up like a kitty-cat that remind me when Maka dress up like one" Spirit said in a baby voice. Soul stare at Spirit weirdly.
"his obsession with Maka is fucked up in so many levels" Soul thought before he sigh "I got to get them to accept my request so my plan can work but knowing them...they won't fall for it so maybe there's a gap between this little game" Soul thought.
Soul took out two vectors and put them on the floor as he lift himself up in the air before he cross-leg his legs "let's see if I can walk this through" he clear his throat before speaking "now the topic we are discussing about"
"do you think girls still dressed like cats?" Spirit asked.
"yes they still do for Halloween or for a costume party" Lord Death said.
"are they talking about women dressing like cats?" Soul thought "hey drop this right now"
"oh we shouldn't talk about this it might disgust him since you're a tiger witch" Lord Death said making Soul angry.
"no that's not it we're here for the talk" Soul growl.
"oh yeah now...about this talk" Lord Death said as he hold Soul by the hood again.
Soul thrash around while he curse up a storm "will you fucking put me down you fucking pervert"
"kitty-cat" Spirit said. Soon ten vectors went straight at Spirit and crush his fantasy.
"you keep this up and I'll murder you from where you stand" Soul said as his tone went deadly.
"can he take a joke?" Spirit asked.
"I don't think so since he is a tiger witch it might offend him" Lord Death said while they talk, Soul step backward with his vectors as he sneak away from them.
"yeah but people make cat jokes all the time" Spirit notice Soul who is now in the middle of the corridor "hey what did I said about funny business" Spirit yelled making Lord Death look at Soul too.
"aw come here Soul I won't pick you up again"
"is that a promise" Soul yelled.
Soul smile slightly when he saw the death god nod his head. Good cause as long he don't pick him up and embarrass him in front of them then he can get down to work. Soul sigh as he walk over to them "if he pick me up one more time then hell will break loose" Soul whispered before he made it to them "okay now let's have a little chat kitty" Soul said.
Piper straighten out her tail feathers as she watch the scene from her mother's orb. She push up her visor before rubbing her eyes "so mom how do you think dummy will get them to accept his deal?" she asked.
Medusa sigh before answering "don't worry your cousin have tricks up his sleeves that will get him what he wants"
"if he release it Lady Medusa" Eruka said.
Medusa flick Eruka in the forehead making her moan in pain "what was that for?" she asked.
"Eruka you should know your brother...he can handle it no matter what sticky situation he's in" Medusa said
"yeah but"
"no buts Eruka" Dawn said next to Crona who had his head on her shoulder "he's going to be fine as long he don't mess this up" Eruka sigh.
"okay Lady Dawn I understand" she said as she look at the orb.
Medusa frown slightly as she remember about Eruka's behavior. You see ever since Eruka adopt Soul on his birthday, she'll get worry when he go out to cause trouble and when he first had his power in he starts to go on mission on his 13th birthday making her even worry about her little brother. But as long that Soul keep his wits up, he won't get hurt or get into trouble. Medusa sigh "Soul try not worry your sister this much beside she care about you very much" she thought still looking at the orb.
Soul still sitting cross-legged in the air as he smile "well Death as you can see the bargain, its very promising" Spirit close his eyes and sigh.
"we won't accept your deal Soul until we hear your condition" Soul look at Spirit and Lord Death before he chuckled causing Lord Death to stare at him weirdly.
"fine if you won't tell me then I'll pick you up by the hood again" as he said that, Soul was pick up by his hood while he thrash around in anger.
"YOU PUT ME DOWN RIGHT NOW YOU PROMISE" Soul yelled in anger.
"adorable kitty-cat" Spirit cooed as Soul stare at him like he's some disgusting bug.
"YOU QUIT THAT SHIT OUT IT'S FUCKING CREEPY AND WEIRD" Soul said before he look at Lord Death "now put me down I'll explain the deal but let me go" Soul said as his anger slowly went away.
When Soul is put down, he sigh before he spoke "okay here's what I want to say before I get straight to the deal"
"what is that?" Azusa asked. Soul smiled as he side-glance at her.
"well Azusa I want to ask you a question"
"like what?" Sid asked. Soul smiled before he put his index and thumb into his mouth before he whistle. Soon a blue tiger came from behind the death scythes who jump back in fear as it walk up to Soul who is smiling in admiration.
"ah my precious Maro so glad you came" Soul pets Maro's head as he purred in happiness.
Spirit gulp in fear "that's a huge tiger"
"yes all my kittens are huge" Soul said as he playfully flick his nose making him wiggle his nose. Maro look at Soul strangely before he pounce on him before licking his face "stop Maro stop" Soul laugh while everyone stare at them weirdly.
"does he always act like this?" Marie asked.
"maybe he just distracting us" Sid said.
"so it can be trap" Stein said. Spirit gritted his teeth before walking up to Soul.
"okay Soul no time for funny business tell us what you want or we'll get serious" Maro growl at Spirit who back up away from the angry tiger "down kitty down" he said in fear.
Soul giggled before he stood up and scratch his tiger's left ear before he spoke "you're right no more funny business now here's my question" Soul clear his throat "do you know about...Pariah?" the room went silent as the word sink in like an ice cold sword came from the sky and stab someone in the chest. No one move a muscle as their body went tense from the name that slip out of Soul's lips. Soul glance around the room as his smile turn into a amuse smirk founding this silence very interesting to his ears.
Spirit gulped before speaking "P-P-P-Pariah...as in...The Pariah" Soul nod his head as his smirk grew bigger when he saw Spirit's knees buckle in horror.
Maro chuckled "cub I think you struck a nerve"
"yes my kitten indeed I did" Soul said. Soul look around the room again before he snickered in amusement "care to tell me if you know that creature"
"my dad told me stories about them" everyone look at Cheshire as her body shook with fear "he said long time in the ancient times, there was a story about the Mayans that was killed in one day" she said.
"The Mayans trade stuff with the Aztecs and it was going great until one day, on that very night a little Mayan boy who was going to sleep saw a bright light from distance. So him being a kid grew curious about the light, so he step out from his house and ran from the village to find what is causing that light to shine so bright" Cheshire swallow before continuing the story "when he got there he saw big no gigantic egg that was glowing a eerie red light that its so bright that it might make you see red" Liz hug Patty in fear as the story continued on "but the kid was fascinated that a egg this huge can glow so bright. He want everyone to see this beautiful creation so he ran to the village and woke up everyone before telling them about the egg" Soul grew a wicked smirk as he listen to the story.
"The people grew interest to the boy's story so they follow him to the egg and was astounded that this egg live here from the village. But unbeknownst of them, that this egg will be the last thing they'll see in their entire life. One of the Mayans want to see what's inside the egg, so he grab an object and hit the egg with so much force that it started to crack under pressure. The more puncture the egg the more the shell crack until finally the egg couldn't take it no more" Cheshire bit her lips before she spoke "the white egg shell broke into pieces to reveal a red egg-shape creature. They were shock before it turns into horror. The creature broke into hundreds pieces before those pieces turn into humanoid species" Soul watch how everyone shook with fear as he lay down on his tiger who is laying down on the floor.
"Their body are red with yellow diamond-shape marks all over their body, sharp claws, two big wings on their back and ultra-violet eyes that look like it can hypnotize you with only one stare. Now Pariah is gruesome creatures that don't like be treated like slaves or being disrespected by mortals and that what the Mayans did to them. They told the creatures to leave with them so they can sell them to the Aztecs. The leader whose name is Haos growl at the Mayans and told them that they're not slaves to be sell to pesky mortals but they didn't listen" Cheshire said as the room grew tense "as they talk and giving them orders the creature had enough. So they killed them with so much vengeance and anger it force the people to flee in terror but they couldn't runaway from them. They follow them into their village and finish them without showing mercy before they went to another village that hold the Aztecs and the same fate happen to them and Incas and the Olmecs" Kim gulped while Ox teeth chattered with fear.
"More people heard about these astounding creatures so they decided to captured them and keep them as their own army. But each one didn't live because how they abuse their power only make them angrier and more vicious as they kill them in a most savage and brutal way that if you see it up close it will make you throw up" everyone gasp in terror "now since Pariah is getting very dangerous they decided to put them into temples in different location just in case if anyone found their location"
"but people keep finding them every month because of their power that they wield inside of them" everyone look at Soul who had the most sinister smirk on his face "so after the last person was killed, a whole group of soldiers and scientists put Pariah into a glass container that can hold them in until they got to their destination and ever since then no on dares went to go find them because 1. they don't know where the temple is and 2. because they were scared that same fate will happen to them" Soul said looking bored all of sudden.
Lord Death scowled at Soul "what do you want Soul?"
"nothing I'm just telling you that Pariah is being held inside the temple of Africa in Nigeria" Soul smiled when he heard everyone gasps
"but that can't be...no one can figure out the pattern" Nygus said.
"but I did you see they moved them into different states, countries and continents" Soul scratch under his tiger chin making him purr in delight "now it was hard for me but then I figure out the pattern, they move in every 4 month in 3 weeks to go the temple first was America then Europe then Russia then Costa Rica and so forth until finally their last stop was Africa and they landed in Nigeria" Soul said.
"what are you trying to say?" Azusa asked.
Soul chuckled "I'm saying that they still inside that temple and Arachnophobia is going set it free unto this world" Soul smirked as he saw everyone faces went pale when he told them about their rival releasing Pariah "now here's the deal I'll help you stop Arachne if you let her out from the academy"
"let who out?" Marie asked praying that Soul is talking about her.
"I want Petunia out so she can help me with your mission" everybody stood there with fear while Soul look at them with a smile on his face "if you don't then your world will perish into smithereens you choose Death" Soul smile while Lord Death's body tense up a little.
"Oh baby he got them" Axel said.
"that's our grandson" Dawn said while Medusa smirks.
"see Eruka...Soul knows what he's doing" she said while Eruka smirk menacingly.
"you go little brother" she said as she watch the scene unfold inside the orb.
At the Castle, Arachne and the others watch as they grin evilly "you're right milady Arachne he's one clever witch" Mosquito said while the spider witch chuckled evilly.
"you go my little spider" she smirk at they continued to watch the scene while Soul smiled evilly.
Back at the DWMA, Soul is waiting from the response from the death god who is having trouble with his decision "tick-tock Lord Death because tomorrow morning Arachnophobia is going to Africa to get their prize" Soul said impatiently.
"Lord Death don't fall for his trick" Azusa said.
"yes Lord Death what if its a trap" Spirit said.
Soul growl and was about to yell until he heard a familiar voice "ITS NO TRAP YOU HUMANS" they turn around to see a white tiger, snow-white tiger, a liger, a black tiger, regular tiger, golden-tabby tiger and a tigon sitting on the corridor pillars before they disappeared and reappeared next to Soul.
"hello Lilac, Sumita, Vexy, Hercules, Apollo, Ravi and Topaz" the tigers roar at Soul saying hello to him.
"hi cub" they said before they glare at the humans.
"You're Soul's familiar" Stein said making the tigers smile.
"yes we are and so are his other kittens" Topaz said while Soul smiled.
"yes that true Topaz my pretty kitten" Soul pet Topaz making her purr "now like Lilac said its no trap...they really are going to set Pariah free in least you let grandma Petunia free" Lord Death continued to stare "if you don't you'll lose everything and I mean everything" Soul said emphasizing everything.
Lord Death began to sweat as he made a hard decision "so Lord Death" Soul walked up to Lord Death while he smiled "do we have a deal?" Soul stretch out his hand as he waits for the death god to make a deal. Lord Death made a pro and con of the situation. If he make a deal, Arachnophobia will never get Pariah and the world will be safe but if he don't make a deal, then everything and everyone will die by the hands of Pariah. Lord Death look down at Soul before he glance at his out stretch hand thinking for a good minute before he sigh.
Lord Death stretch out his hand while everyone watch in shock and disbelief "well Soul" he grasp Soul's hand and shook it "you got yourself a deal" Lord Death said as he realize he's going to regret this deal but as long Soul help them with their mission they might had hope after all. Soul smiled as his plan started to unfold itself.
"get ready Pariah...your queen is coming" he thought as his smiled turn into a wicked smirk.
PARIAH WILL RISE FROM HIS SLUMBER MWAHAHAHAHAHAHA.
