Malik heard the knock on his door, but didn't say anything. He heard the door open, and felt someone lie on his bed with him, "Malik?" he heard Kadar's voice, "Supper's ready."
"Not hungry," he mumbled.
"Please come out of your room," Kadar begged, "You haven't left since they let you out of the hospital, and I miss you, and mom misses you, and dad misses you," He could hear that Kadar was on the verge of tears. Malik sat up, wincing. Kadar held out his hand, and they left his room.
Malik heard his parents talking, and they rounded the corner, heading into the kitchen. His mother looked up, "Malik," she said, smiling. She walked over to him, and hugged him lightly. His father walked over, and Mrs. Al-Sayf stepped back. Malik looked up at his father, and his father hugged him, holding his son close. Malik felt tears in his eyes, but held them back. Kadar looked at them.
"Can we eat? I'm hungry," he complained, and Mr. Al-Sayf chuckled.
"Yes, we can eat," he said, and they sat down.
After supper, Malik and his dad went outside, sitting down on the porch. Malik breathed out, his breath visible against the cold air, "Malik," his dad began, but Malik cut him off.
"I should have told you," he said, "Are you mad?" Malik turned to his dad.
"No I'm not mad," his dad answered, "A bit disappointed that you didn't tell me right away."
"I was scared," Malik admitted, "about how you would react," His father turned to him.
"Malik, I love you, not matter who you decide to date. I never want you to be scared to tell me anything," Malik nodded, "Can you ask Altaïr to come over? I owe him an apology," his dad said, and Malik smiled.
"Of course."
"Are you serious?"
Connor and Leonardo were out for a walk, "Yup," Connor answered.
"That is crazy," Leonardo said, "And I can't believe that Lucy just stood there and watched," Connor sighed, and kicked a rock, "Everything alright?"
"I have a crush on a girl, but...I've never really liked anyone, so I don't know what to do," Connor explained.
"Ah, love," Leonardo sighed, placing a hand over his chest, "So complicated when you can only admire him from afar," Connor frowned.
"Him? You have a crush?"
"Uh, I never said that," Leonardo said quickly, and Connor raised his eyebrows, "Fine, I do."
"Do I know him?" Connor asked.
"Maybe."
"Ezio, isn't it?" Connor stated.
"How did you know?"
"Come on Leo. You've been in love with him for so many years. We all know, except him. Are you ever gonna tell him?" Connor asked, and Leonardo sighed.
"I don't know. He has so much stuff going on right now I don't want to spring it on him," Leonardo said.
"Trust me. Ezio could really use someone right now," Connor said, placing a hand on his shoulder. Leonardo looked at him, "Just saying," The two walked in quiet for a bit, until they came to the park. They walked over to a bench, and sat down.
"How are things with Haytham?" Leonardo asked, and Connor sighed.
"I don't know. I thought they were good, but...things happen," Connor answered, looking down at his hands.
"Maybe you need someone too," Leonardo suggested, "This girl...she goes to our school right?" Connor nodded, "I think I know who it is, and she could use someone right now too," Connor smiled.
"I guess we can all use somebody," he said, looking at the kids playing in the park.
I've been roaming around
Always looking down at all I see
"Yeah," Leonardo said, and he saw a snowflake fall, "Hey. Snow!"
Painted faces fill the places
I can't reach
Connor looked up, and felt snowflakes fall on his face. He smiled. He loved the snow.
You know that I could use somebody
You know that I could use somebody
Someone like you, and all you know
And how you speak
Countless lovers
Under covers of the street
You know that I could use somebody
You know that I could use somebody
Someone like you
