Gregor woke to the sound of his wife humming a happy tune as she brushed out her golden hair. "Good morning, husband." she said, returning to the bed.
Body aching, he took her in his arms and kissed the top of her head. "Little Megena." he said quietly, as erotic images of their night together flashed through his mind. "Last night...it was..."
Megena smiled, and ran her hand down his bared stomach, "I hope I pleased you."
Gregor took her face and turned it towards his, kissing her he whispered, "You did."
She smiled, and kissed him back quickly. "I hope that we have created new life, my lord."
Gregor got out of the bed, and stretched out his long limbs, "Well, we'll know soon enough."
"A woman always knows, Ser." Megena yawned, placing herself back beneath the blankets. "When do we leave?"
Gregor put his breeches on, "When ever we want." he said, "I have to return to King's Landing with the Lannister."
Megena frowned, "Fine." she said, "we can leave now."
Gregor sighed loudly, and slipped his shirt over his head. Megena caught sight of her blue favor that remained around his wrist, and smiled. "Wife, you need to bathe." he said.
Jaime Lannister stood leaning against a tree smiling, "It would seem that she has survived, Hound." he said, pointing at the approaching mounts of Gregor and his wife.
Sandor grunted and walked towards the mount of his brother, "Welcome back." he grunted.
"Thank you brother." Gregor said, as he dismounted his horse.
Jaime stood with Megena, his hands lingering on her waist. "Well done, my Lady." he said against her ear.
Megena's knees weakened at having this beautiful being so close to her, "I did my duty."
Jaime released Megena, and walked up to Gregor, and offered him his hand. "My family has a gift for your bride. May I take her to the stable?" he asked.
Gregor nodded, and went into the Keep with his younger brother to prepare his things for his journey to King's Landing.
Megena reluctantly followed Jaime to the stables. She did not trust herself to be alone around this man. Every move he made was like a tiny seduction to her eyes. Jaime smiled over at her, reading her easily. " I'm not going to hurt you, my Lady."
Megena's eyes narrowed, "You would die before you raised your hand, Ser."
Jaime laughed, "Oh, I know I would. If anything could disarm me, it is those blue eyes of yours."
Megena rolled her eyes, "What did you want tos how me, Ser?" she asked, losing her patience.
" It's not a dragon." he said, taking her hand and leading her further into the stable. "See?" Before them stood a large white stallion...he was flawless, the very image of beauty.
Megena placed her hand on the horses nose, "Why?" she asked.
"So you don't forget me." Jaime whispered against her neck. "he was once mine, I leave him in your care. Should you ever wish to leave, he will bring you to me."
Megena looked up and stared into the piercing green eyes of Jaime. "You are too kind, my Lord."
"Jaime." he said, resting his forehead against hers.
As Megena raised her head, with the hope of their lips meeting she felt a rush of air around her, and opened her eyes to see the hem of his red cloak disappear around a corner.
Gregor kissed the lips of his wife gently, "Write to me if you are with child."
Megena nodded, and watched as her husband mounted his horse, and followed the Lion and his men. Once they were out sight, Megena ran into her home and called out Sandor's name. "They are gone!" she cried out, "Come, Sandor...they've left!"
Duilya placed a hand on her shoulder, and smiled sadly at her, "He's gone, love."
Megena laughed and waved the old woman away, "In the kennel is he?" she asked.
"He left while you were in the stables with the Lion." she said, taking the young woman's hand.
Megena's face went white, and tears began to form in her blue eyes. "Why did he leave me?" she cried. "everyone always leaves me." She collapsed into the nearest chair, and buried her face in her hands. "I am alone. " she cried, "I shall have to birth a child on my own. My husband is gone. My love is gone."
Duilya allowed Megena to cry, surprised that she had seen such a reaction...she did not think that she would ever care enough for Gregor to miss him when he left. "He'll be back for you." she cooed, stroking her golden head. "he will never leave you."
A/N:
It's been a while, hasn't it? I am sorry, truly. I have not been feeling well these past few months, and had really lost all motivation to write. I hope you all can forgive me. Also, I am sorry that this chapter is so short. I didn't think that it needed much else. So..what did you think of Jaime and Megena's moment in the stable? I'd love to know what you think! As always, thanks for reading! -M
