Epilogue
There is the first video together, and then there is a second video, and a third, a fourth with some delay soon after.
People ask to hear more of their story, and so Kurt and Blaine start a blog about their life together that later lands both of them their first parts in a short film by a fellow NYADA student, and then that short film suddenly lands Kurt a small part on Broadway, in a whole new show. It is not his big break, but it is a start.
It gets Blaine, years into posting – because of course the two of them cannot keep music from slipping into their posts more and more often as time goes on – attention from a record label, "They want to sign me, Kurt!"
Blaine still struggles around alcohol, some days more than others. Especially when he is stressed about some part of his life already it gets tough. What makes the biggest difference is that he now knows that he can take himself out of that situation, walk away, and Kurt smiles proudly at him every time he sees Blaine do it.
Sure, sometimes that involves Blaine leaving Kurt alone at a party, a bar or restaurant with Elliot or some other friend or group of friends. But Kurt knows, Kurt understands, never lets Blaine leave on those occasions without checking first if Blaine needs him there with him right now, and sometimes Blaine does, cannot make himself let go. And whenever Blaine leaves alone Kurt makes sure to pull Blaine into his arms and into a deep kiss before Blaine walks out the door.
But with all that the best thing that they get from posting all those videos over the years is the video responses and skype chats with people still as stuck as they had once been or not stuck anymore, or desperate and about to do something as self-destructive as Blaine had begun in those last months in Lima. And so, if you ask the two of them, the best they get is the chance to be there for those boys and girls, men and women talking to them, and seeing them through, the messages of people happily having made their way out, such as first Kurt and then Blaine had, but really they had done together, over the years arriving in the dozens.
They keep the blog going even after they stop posting weekly, and make sure to add new videos once in a while to remind whoever finds this blog that what everyone is telling these kids should not exist, or is impossible, can be and last, and can bring so much happiness, that they can be happy and bring happiness, that they have a chance, if they refuse to give up.
A/N: A dear friend has asked for an out-take of Kurt discovering the first video online posted by Blaine of himself all bruised up and battered. I will write it and add it at some point as Chapter 22 to this story. Just a heads up in case any of you want to read that too just put the story on alert.
