Without further ado, the last chapter of No Other You
Epilogue
Three months later
"At last." Chloe remarked while having dinner, after reading a letter he had received from their butler, relief evident in her body.
"What do you mean?" Oliver asked, rising to stand beside Chloe, who was reading a note.
"This is a message from Clark. He has stated that the danger has now passed, they are both safe, and that he is inviting us to his stables tomorrow afternoon for tea."
Chloe has always been on edge ever since the day Clark has dragged Lois from their Metropolis townhouse. While Lois has assured her that she felt safe with Clark, she would always worry about the two. The fact that Bruce did not even try to communicate with them after Oliver asked him to watch over them added to her concern.
Oliver smiled at Chloe. "You can rest easy now, my dear wife. Such anxiety will not be good for the babe."
For the first time ever since these baffling events started, Chloe gave out a genuine smile. "Forgive me, my dear husband, but I could not help it."
"I know."
Chloe then placed the napkin on her lap to the table and stood up. "I am going to write to Lois. I want to know the whole story."
Oliver kissed Chloe's forehead. "Go, my dear wife. I will join you soon."
"You better." Chloe said with a wink. "I think a massage is in order." She finished as she sauntered out of the dining room, feeling lighter than ever before, knowing that her cousin and her friend are now safe.
What was to be a simple horse haltering turned into an entirely different incident.
Lois has decided that she wanted to give Blaze a light exercise. Entering the stable, she was met at the doors by one of the grooms, and offered his assistance. She dismissed him and told him that she can halter a horse on her own and that he might be needed elsewhere.
Left alone, she entered an empty box where the halters, lead ropes, and saddles were stacked, and found the one she had always used for her horse. She grunted upon hearing footsteps and said without looking. "I believe I have made myself clear that I am not a whimpering woman in need of help just to prepare my horse for an exercise."
She was caught by surprise when strong hands encircled her waist, the sure grip causing her to tumble backwards to a strong chest. Lois grinned when the mouth of the hands' owner caught her earlobe in his teeth, before moving his mouth to her exposed neck.
"I believe I have told you, my lady, that you are to wait for me whenever you decide to go on a ride." His lips never left her skin, and his hands were now removing the shirt, his shirt, from the confines of her breeches.
Lois tried not to whimper as his hands made its way to her breasts beneath her custom camisole specifically made for her horse exercises. "As you can see, your grace, if I were to wait for you, we never get to riding." Her own hands were over his while they massage her chest.
"Believe me, riding is all I have in mind." Clark said, his hand moving deliberately downward. "You will ride my hand, you will ride my face, you will ride me. Hands on the balustrade."
Lois complied, loving the confident sound of his voice. Clark unbuttoned her breeches, and slowly, torturously, his right hand made its way inside. At his first touch, Lois buckled and completely surrendered to the loving ministrations of his hand. He spread out the wetness on her nether lips, and expertly pressed and prodded her womanhood.
"Ride." Clark whispered as one finger entered her, in time with his tongue laving at her ear. Instinctively, Lois' hips met the thrust of Clark's finger. Clark increased his speed, inserting another digit, and Lois also upped the ante, but the moment Clark curved his fingers, Lois shouted his name, her body shuddering at the force of her climax.
Bent forward, her head on top of the hands on the banister, she tried to catch her breath as Clark stepped back from her. Having no strength to look at what he was doing, only hearing the rustling of hay, Lois tried to straighten herself, but was stopped when Clark slowly replaced his hands on her waist, but instead of moving down, they moved up, taking her shirt and camisole along the way.
Lois giggled as she tried to stop him. "Somebody might come in."
"I told all of them to stay the hell away from my stable."
"Did you really?" Lois queried, still tingling from the effects of her earlier orgasm.
"Not in those precise words, but close enough."
Lois laughed merrily, as Clark turned her around, finally kissing her on the mouth ever since they had started this ride. Lois's arms encircled Clark, and pulled away after her hands met his bare skin. What she saw made her lick her lips and bite her bottom lip in delight. Clark was gloriously naked and ready, all of his clothes and her discarded top beside them.
"Hope you like the bed." Clark said, his eyes twinkling mischievously. Lois could not find words, and Clark kissed her once more, slowly maneuvering them towards the clothes laid out on the floor. "Hands on the balustrade, please." Clark repeated his earlier instruction.
Lois once again complied, placing her hands at the handrail on her back. Clark left Lois' lips, but his mouth did not detach from her body. He travelled downward, sucking and licking along the way, until he made a stop at her chest. "Have I told you how much I love your breasts?"
Her eyes closed trying to savor everything that he was doing, she almost forgot to reply. "Remind me."
"Gladly."
Lois' back arched when Clark enclosed his mouth on her nipple. His arm circling her back, he pulled her against him, his manhood grazing her thigh, strong and hard. Clark continued to love her breasts, circling the rosy peak with his tongue, then pressing his face between the mounds kissing and licking the valley between, before shifting his attention to her other breast, starting all over.
Satisfied with his work, Clark continued his trek downward and crouched as his face came in line with her crotch. He looked up, stealing a glance at her face, ecstatic to see her eyes clouded with desire, only for him. He pulled down her breeches, placing kisses on the skin he exposed. The curls hiding what he sought beckoning him, he blew on them and saw Lois shivered at the promise his mouth could bring.
He surprised Lois by standing up. He then took her hand and led her to their arranged clothes. He sat down, his back on the handrail, taking Lois with him, sitting astride him, her knees on either side of his hips. "Kneel, love, and keep your hands on the balustrade."
Lois did not know what Clark has planned, but it excited her nonetheless.
Seeing that Lois followed his instructions, he slid further down on the floor, lifting one of her knees to accommodate his wide shoulders, only to stop when his face was completely underneath her center.
Lois finally realized his intention, and gripped the handrail tightly as Clark gripped her thighs to pull her against his mouth. As Clark's tongue darted out to taste her, she could not help her hips as they moved on their own volition. The friction his mouth was giving was too much for Lois and as soon as Clark's tongue entered her, she exploded once more.
Clark guided Lois' limp body to lie on top of him. Clark's hands roamed her back leisurely, and it was a while when Lois had the strength to lift her head and look at him, question in her eyes.
Clark understood immediately. "Your pleasure is my pleasure, love. Besides, do not think that we are through."
Lois' eyes widened, surprised that her body still responded despite her two previous orgasms. True enough to his word that they were not yet finished, Clark positioned her hips against his, and in one sure thrust, he entered her with a force she knew would only give her bliss. Recognizing that she still has enough strength, she tightened her inner walls and Clark took a deep breath, gritting his teeth. It thrilled her that she was able to elicit such a reaction from Clark. Before long she was riding him, forward and back, up and down, their bodies in tune with each other.
Lois was nearing the edge again, when Clark pulled out of her completely. "It is my turn to ride." He said huskily.
Clark turned Lois around, and she was now on her hands and knees, her backside now exposed to him. A bit forcefully he pulled her, but Lois did not mind. Aligning their hips, he thrust inside her as if there was no tomorrow. One hand on the handrail and another on the floor, Lois savored the beast that was Clark, ecstatic that only she can bring out the animal in him. Clark kept on pounding and Lois kept on receiving, and this time they came together. Both heavily breathing, Clark collapsed on her, and she welcomed the weight.
It took them a while to recuperate from their delicious exhaustion, and regaining a bit of his strength, Clark lifted himself off Lois' body and settled on his back, but immediately dragged her to his side. Lois laid her head and hand on his chest, her leg sprawled on top of his.
"Have I told you how much I love you?" Clark asked.
Lois smiled as she began tracing circles on his chest with her finger. "Not today, my lord."
Clark dipped his head and lifted her chin, meeting her eyes, Clark tried to convey everything he was feeling to the woman he now holds in his arms. "I thought I was content but I was wrong. I thought I would not need anyone, but having you and loving you is both strengthening and terrifying. You make me a better man, Lois, and I cannot even fathom my life without you in it. I love you, my duchess, more than I thought I could."
Lois felt tears threatening to spill. She had the same reservations, the same fears. "You have accepted me and treated me as an equal ever since we played poker in Chloe's masquerade." She said with a grin, which elicited a grin from Clark as well. "What we have transcends everything in this world. And I know, deep inside, that we will always be in each other's minds and hearts, that we will live through each other's thoughts and actions. We will never truly leave each other. I love you, my duke, with every fiber of my being."
Sharing a sweet kiss, they lay together in silence, Lois and her horse's morning exercise forgotten.
Chloe carefully stepped down of the carriage with Oliver's help. Hooking her arm through his, they walked towards the gazebo Clark's groom led them.
"I reckon today is the first time in a while that I have felt good."
Oliver knew exactly what Chloe meant, but he put on an exaggerated pout and looked at his wife. "Do I not make you happy enough?"
Chloe was immediately regretful, and stopped walking. She thought Oliver truly meant his question and that she had hurt his feelings. "That is not what I mean—"
Oliver placed a kiss on Chloe's cheek and smiled. "It is a jest, Chloe. I know exactly what you mean."
That prank earned Oliver a light slap on his arm, and Chloe continued. "You do make me happy, Oliver, but all that has happened with Clark and Lois, always in the dark of what was happening with them, it somehow took a toll on me."
"I know, sometimes I would catch you staring at nothing in particular. More often than not, I thought of asking you, threatening you even, to stop worrying, especially with our child growing inside you. But that is who you are: a good cousin and a good friend."
"Thank you for always understanding me."
They reached the gazebo and found a setting for a larger group. Clark probably invited their other friends as well, and Oliver voiced it out his observation.
"I agree. Maybe most of them are running late, Clark did issue the invitation on short notice." Chloe said, sitting down on one of the plush chairs.
Soon after, Clark came atop Sultan, with another groom behind him astride a different horse.
"Glad you are able to come!" Clark said, dismounting and handing Sultan to the groom who had also dismounted.
"It is a good thing we are without commitment today. Are they others coming?" Chloe answered without standing up.
"I believe so." Clark walked over to Chloe, and finally noticed her rounded middle. "This is a great surprise! What wonderful news!" Clark said as he bent down to kiss Chloe on the cheek, and he gave Oliver a hug after.
"Definitely. Even greater news when we received your invite last night. Good to know you are safe." Oliver said as stood behind Chloe and placed his hands on her shoulders.
"Thank you. Today is a happy day." Clark said, then his eyes narrowed. "Perfect timing as well."
"Perfect timing?" Chloe asked.
"You know Sultan here, correct?"
"Who would forget such a horse?" Oliver exclaimed.
"The other one is Amir, sired by Sultan."
"He is also a beauty!" Chloe said. "I think he will fetch a handsome price."
"He is not for the market." Clark smiled widely at Chloe. "He is for you."
"For me?" Chloe asked, incredulous at such a generous gift, and completely clueless. "For what reason? Have you known of the babe even before today?"
Clark laughed. "Of course not. I only arrived here last night, how would I have known?"
"Then why?" Chloe asked, still confounded.
"You wound me, Chloe. You have already forgotten the bet."
As Chloe rummaged her mind, another horse came to view, this time a lady leading it by a rope towards them. Chloe screamed in delight when she realized who the lady was and was soon on her feet, meeting her cousin halfway and enveloping each other in a hug.
"You have worried me greatly dear cousin!" Chloe said as they separated.
"I have told you not to." Lois said.
"You cannot take that away from me, Lois." Chloe replied. She then stopped. "Goodness, your hair has hay! Let me remove them from you."
Chloe started pulling the hay from her hair, not seeing the blush that covered Lois' face and neck.
However, Oliver saw and smirked at Clark, who just shrugged as he watched Chloe fussing over Lois.
"You and your love of horses." Chloe said, still oblivious to the real reason behind Lois' unkempt hair.
Lois saw Oliver looking at Clark, and she decided to change the subject immediately by turning around and placing a hand on her belly. "I hope our dilemma did not affect the babe?"
"You noticed?" Chloe teased.
"How could I not?" Lois laughed as they made their way back to the gazebo. Chloe went to Oliver and Lois went straight to Clark, who put his arm around her waist. It was then that everything became clear to Chloe.
"You two!" Chloe screamed once more, and went over to Clark and Lois and spread her arms wide to accommodate the two. "I cannot believe it!" She then turned to Oliver. "I told you to have faith."
Oliver smiled and went over to them, shaking Clark's hand and giving Lois a kiss on the cheek. "This is a lesson for you Clark: always believe your wife."
Clark laughed and looked at Lois as Chloe pinched Oliver's arm. "I have always believed her even during the time we were not married."
Lois looked at Clark, one eyebrow raised. "Remind me of when that happened."
Chloe then stopped, her jaw dropped.
"Is everything all right, Chloe?" Oliver said, concern at his wife's inability to talk. "Is it the babe?"
But everyone's concern was unfounded.
"You are married!?"
The group laughed at Chloe's unending complaint that her cousin and her friend had married without inviting her.
"I should have a right, you know. I take credit for their current relationship. If it were not for me, they would not have met each other. And I still resent the fact that I am not invited to your wedding."
Lois stood up and went to where Chloe was sitting, hugging her from behind. "Do not be so glum, cousin. It was a short engagement, and it would have been shorter had the carriage carrying the dowager duchess not lost its way."
The pout still remained, and Lois ploughed on. "Now knowing that you are with babe, I do not believe that Oliver would let you on a ride that would jeopardize both of you."
"That is true." Oliver interjected.
At the mention of the safety of her child, Chloe finally relented. "All right. You are forgiven."
The group let out a celebratory cheer as Chloe and Lois hugged.
"All this celebrating without me?"
All of them turned to the interrupting voice, and found out it was none other than the Duke of Gotham.
Greetings erupted, and soon Bruce was settled with the group, and the topic shifted to Clark and Lois' adventure in Smallville.
"I really could not fathom Maxima would go through all of those atrocious things just to have Clark." Mera said, tightening her hold on her husband.
"It is vexing, and I pray that will be the last I would see something like it, for I have already told the King that I am retiring from my duties as a spy." Clark announced, looking at Lois, who knew beforehand of his resignation. The King did not like the idea, but Clark promised that he would be available as counsel, and it somehow pacified the monarch.
Bruce grinned. "I wonder who would ever be able to replace you?"
"Oh, I put in a name."
"Pray tell, who that unfortunate man is." Arthur goaded.
"None other than Bruce Wayne, though I told the king that he may always need another set of clothes for him, in case of an unfortunate turn of events."
Everyone was confounded at Clark's words, while Lois laughed as Bruce shook his head repeatedly, all the while grinning.
"I would love to tell the story. I call this story, The Batman."
It was night, and Lois was preparing for bed, braiding her hair for sleep, when she was stopped by Clark. "I love your hair long and loose."
Lois looked back at her husband lying on the bed shirtless, and grinned. "As you wish." Finished with brushing her hair, she joined her husband under the covers and snuggled in his arms.
"That was a fun gathering, wasn't it?" Lois asked. "I honestly was concerned that they would not believe my story, our story."
Clark smiled and kissed her temple. "They believe us, even if Bruce was not there to validate us, they would still believe us."
"I like them." Lois said. "Your friends."
"I reckon it is safe to say that they like you too."
The statement earned him a kiss from Lois. "I really thought Chloe was angry with us for not inviting them to the wedding."
Clark was quiet for a while, and Lois lifted her head to look at her suddenly pensive husband. "What is it that is bothering you?"
Clark smiled and looked at Lois. "Nothing huge, love. I was just wondering, if you want another wedding so that our friends may be a part of it."
Lois was so touched by the gesture, that she gave Clark a deep kiss. "There is no need, love. That wedding already has the most important people in it: you, me, and the minister. That our parents have witnessed it was an additional blessing."
Clark smiled, grateful to have Lois as his wife.
"Besides," Lois continued. "all the succeeding occasions and happenings will be shared with them, such as our babe being born."
Clark gazed at Lois, happy at the knowledge that she was willing to start a family with him, when Lois grabbed his hand and placed it on her belly, only then did Lois' meaning sink.
"You are with child?" Clark asked in amazement. "But you went riding earlier! Would it not hurt the babe?"
Lois shook her head. "I only led Blaze to the round corral for a bit of exercise. I have not ridden a horse for the past month. And if you have not noticed, I did not argue with you when you told me that we are to ride in a carriage on our way here to Metropolis."
Clark smiled at the memory. "We would not be able to do what we did in the carriage had we ridden on horseback. You have made me insatiable, your grace."
"And that insatiability resulted in this life growing inside me."
Clark shook his head. "It was our love that made that life. I hope he has your courage and wit."
"And I hope she has your strength and kindness." Lois teased, pulling his other hand and placing them against her lips.
"Not to mention my outstanding skill in poker and riding."
Clark laughed heartily as she pulled Lois in a hug. "There is no other you. No other."
"I know." Lois said, her eyes dancing with glee, the joy in her heart palpable in her every action.
"And speaking of riding," Clark said as he pulled Lois on top of him, lifting her sleeping gown over her head. "Since you will not be able to ride horses for a considerable time, I reckon it is my duty to keep you proficient in the skill."
Lois grinned. "I agree. I would like to keep my winning streak with regards to horse racing. I am still intent on getting that win on poker though, you better be ready."
The room erupted with laughter, but soon were replaced with sounds of passion, reminiscent of their dauntless respect and undying love for each other.
