This chapter is a shorter on than usual. It doesn't service too much of a purpose. I have big ideas for this story, but I didn't want to go from one major event to the next one with no point in between. So this is a small cooling off period in the story. The second part of this chapter involves Hidan and Kakazu. I mostly wrote that part to add more to this chapter, but it does sere the purpose of letting you see how the other relationship is doing. I will not usually be writing too much about them unless it has to do with Sasori and Deidara.
More drama will be on the way soon. ;)
In the meantime, enjoy this short chapter!

Karen kept her word, and she didn't report Sasori. Deidara never thought he could possibly love his mom even more, but she proved him wrong. Deidara didn't think she was completely thrilled that he was dating his teacher who was almost ten years older than him, but she saw that Deidara was happy.
A few weeks passed since they sent in Deidara's college application. Deidara was usually extremely confident when it came to his art ability, but the wait was still very suspenseful. He was getting very impatient. He wanted them to just accept him already.
The couple was sitting on the couch in Deidara's apartment. Karen was gone on another business trip, and Ino was out with friends somewhere. Sasori's arms were wrapped around Deidara.
"Did you get your letter for Ishi yet?" Sasori asked.
Deidara sighed, "Not yet. I know these things usually take a while, but I hate waiting, hmmm."
Sasori chuckled, "I know how that feels. They should be sending out letters soon. Are you sure you don't want to apply anywhere else. It couldn't hurt."
"No I'm okay, hmmm," Deidara said, "I know they'll accept me. My art is too unique for them not to."
Sasori frowned, but nodded, "If you think so."
The door opened, and Ino walked into the room.
"Hey," Deidara said to her, "How was the mall?"
"It was fun," she said, "I got some new shirts."
She put something down on the coffee table and went to the kitchen to get a drink. Deidara leaned over and saw it was a pile of mail. He quickly went through all the letters.
"Is it there?" Sasori asked.
Deidara checked them all again and sighed, "No not yet, hmmm. I can't stand this."
Ino came into the room with her glass of water, "What were you looking for?"
"My letter from Ishi Art Academy, hmmm," He said, "I've been waiting for it."
Ino frowned, "I thought I saw something with your name on it when I was bringing the mall upstairs."
She went back out the apartment door and came back holding a letter.
"Sorry I guess I dropped this coming up the stairs," She said.
She handed the letter to him. Deidara's eyes widened when he saw it was from Ishi. He showed the letter to Sasori.
"Open it," Sasori encouraged him.
Sasori sat up to be closer to Deidara, and Ino sat on her brother's other side. Deidara looked at the letter nervously. No matter how confident he felt before, he started to feel less sure of himself as he held the white envelope.
"It's okay, Dei," Ino said, "Just open it."
He took a deep breath and carefully ripped open the seal. He took out the paper and read it over.
"What does it say?" Sasori asked.
"It says 'We have accepted you to our second level of the admission process. You will have an interview on February 3rd where you will explain to us your art and why you should join our Academy. The interview will determine whether or not you are expected," Deidara said. He had a bright smile on his face.
Sasori smiled and hugged him, "That's great. Many students who apply there don't even get a chance to have an interview."
Ino hugged her brother too, "Congratulations."
Dei smiled and read the letter again. He was proud of himself for getting this far, and he was confident the interview would be a breeze.
He looked at Sasori and kissed him, "Thank you so much for helping me, hmmm."
Sasori kissed him back, "You're welcome. I'm so proud of you."
"How come I don't get a hug or anything?" Ino said, pouting, "I've been supporting your crazy art my whole life!"
Deidara laughed and hugged her, "Thank you, Ino. You're my favorite fan."
She laughed, "You're welcome. I know you're going to kick ass at that interview."
He smiled, "Thank you, hmmm."
Ino stood up, "I'll go to my room and give you love birds some alone time."
She winked and walked out of the room. Deidara frowned and blushed slightly.
Sasori chuckled and wrapped his arms around Deidara again, "What are you going to tell them at the interview?"
Deidara shrugged, "I'll show them my art. First the basic sketches and water colors, but then I'll wow them with my most beautiful explosion ever! I'll have to make sure it is small enough so that I can still use it inside, but even if it's small they'll still be impressed by it."
Sasori smiled, "I love seeing you so happy. I hope they see how amazing you are."
Deidara leaned against Sasori, "Thank you."

Hidan laid down on the bed in Kakazu's apartment. He didn't usually go to the teacher's place, but he had a really bad fight with his dad. After many harsh words exchanged and several brutal punches, Hidan left the house. Usually he would go to Deidara's place whenever he wanted to get away, but for some reason he ended up at the teacher's apartment. He was hoping sex would make him feel better. Kakazu wasn't about to object to that.
Kakazu was sitting on the balcony, smoking a cigarette. Hidan stood up from the bed. There were some bruises on Hidan's pale skin. A few were from when he was fighting with his dad, but the majority were made by Kakazu. The pain didn't bother Hidan, because he kind of liked it. He hated when his dad was the cause of his pain, but with Kakazu it was different. With Kakazu the pain was only for the purpose of pleasure, and they both liked that.
Hidan slipped on his boxers and walked with a slight limp out to the balcony. Kakazu looked at him when he came out.
"Want one?" he asked, as he held out the box of cigarettes.
Hidan nodded and took one, "Sure."
He sat on the other chair on the balcony and lit the cigarette. He took a drag of the cigarette and then breathed out the smoke.
"Why did you come here anyways?" Kakazu asked. He usually didn't care, but for some reason he felt like asking Hidan.
"Cause my dad was being an asshole, and I needed some way to reduce stress," Hidan said.
"I don't exactly think our sex is that 'relaxing'," Kakazu said. He put out his cigarette and leaned back in his chair.
"It isn't, but it makes me feel better," Hidan said, "and don't act like you don't enjoy it too."
"Of course I do," Kakazu said, "but you're the one the gets all the injuries."
Hidan shrugged, "It doesn't really bother me."
Kakazu sighed, "You're a weird kid."
Hidan frowned, "Don't judge me. You're the fucked up one for having sex with your student."
Kakazu chuckled, "I guess you're right."
Hidan finished his cigarette and put it out. He stood up.
"I guess I should get going then," Hidan said. He walked back into the room.
Kakazu stood up and followed him, "Do you think your dad is calmed down now?"
"He never is," Hidan said, "I don't see him a lot, because he is always out at bars, and when he is at home, we constantly fight. When I was little he would beat me up, but now I can take him."
Kakazu nodded as he watched Hidan redress, "You know…if you wanted to you could just stay here?"
Hidan looked up at him with a surprised look on his face, "Stay here? Why would you want that? I thought this wasn't supposed to be a romantic relationship."
"It isn't," Kakazu insisted, "but if your dad is constantly being an asshole, there's no reason to stay there. He probably wouldn't notice you missing anyways."
"Even if he did, he would be thrilled that I was gone," Hidan said, "I don't want to bother you with my shitty problems."
"Don't worry about it," Kakazu said, "Just stay here and then you don't have to worry about him."
Hidan smiled, "Thanks. That would be awesome."
Kakazu smiled a rare genuine smile, "You're welcome."
"I'm just going to run back there and grab some stuff. My dad should be gone for a few hours so I won't see him," Hidan said.
"Okay. Just be safe," Kakazu said.
"I'm not some fucking damsel in distress," Hidan said, "So don't worry. I'll be back soon."
Hidan finished dressing and quickly left the apartment. Kakazu could tell the boy was very happy. For some reason he felt happy too. He wasn't sure why. It's not like he cared if Hidan stayed in his apartment or not. He was probably just happy that sex would be more convenient now. That had to be the reason. Kakazu knew there was no way he could ever love a psychopath like Hidan.
