Darkness. That's the first thing I remember. It was dark, and it was cold. And I was scared. But then...then I saw the moon. It was so big and it was so bright, and it seemed to chase the darkness away. And when it did...I wasn't scared anymore.
Jack awoke with a deep breath, he looked around confused at where he was...or who he was for that matter. Standing up, he saw that he was on a floating piece of ice that looked to be in the middle of the ocean.
"What the...where I am? What's going on?" Jack said to himself in confusion, he couldn't remember anything before waking up on the ice.
He looked around a bit in confusion before turning to look at the moonlight as it dimed a bit. Jack carefully treaded across the ice until he hit something with his feet. Looking down at his feet, he saw a wooden staff with a curved head. He gave it a curious look before he reached down and picked it up. Immediately the staff started to glow a cold blue in his hands. Odd, Jack thought. He took another step and almost dropped his staff, as the base of the staff hits the ground, frost shoots out and spreads across the ice.
"Woah," Jack said through a breath. He almost couldn't believe what he was saying.
Jack carefully touched the ice again, sending more frost across it. He then swung the staff around as he gain more confidence and started to run on the ice. With another swing a gust of wind swirled him up high into the air.
"This is incredible," Jack said in awe as he looked out over the ocean. Suddenly, the gleam of several lights catches his eye. Aiming his staff in their direction, he flew out into the night. As he got closer, he started to see buildings and a giant palace. Looking down, he saw what appeared to be the town square, he slowly lowered his staff and started to descend to the ground. Once his feet hit the ground, he stumbled a few times before coming to a stop.
"Gonna have to work on that," Jack said to himself with a small laugh as he looked around the area. The square was quite busy with many people walking around and enjoy the night. He couldn't help but noticed that some of buildings looked scorched and some where even halfway torn down. It looked as if the place had recently experienced a disaster. Shaking his head to clear his thoughts, Jack quickly walked up to an older woman who was sitting on a bench.
"Hello, good evening ma'am." Jack said with a bright smile. He put on a puzzled expression when he saw that the woman seemed to be looking right through him.
"Ma'am?" Jack asked as the woman got up off the bench and calmly walked past him.
He was about to go after her until he saw a young boy walking around with a bag of candy. He crouched down as the young boy ran toward him. "Oh, ah, excuse me, can you tell me where I am?" Jack asked as the young boy ran right through him, as if he were a ghost. Jack staggered back in shock, he felt as if the wind had been knocked out of him.
"What's going on?" Jack asked as he looked at his hands, he knew he was standing right in front of these people, yet it was like they had no idea he was there.
"Hello! Hello!" Jack shouted as the people continue to pass through him, unaware of his presence. Fear began to overtake him and he quickly flew back up into the air on a gust of wind.
Jack took a few deep breaths to calm himself as he looked down at the town square. How is this possible? Jack thought to himself. Looking over at the large palace, he noticed a light coming from an open window high up on the palace. Flying over, he slowly pushed the window the rest of the way open and went inside. Once his eyes got used to the light, he saw that he appeared to be in some sort of office or study. The room had fancy high end decorations with a large fire place that was burning softly creating the light he saw. It was then he saw a figure sitting at a desk. Getting closer, he saw it was a girl, one that he would describe as beautiful sitting at the desk and looking out another window. The girl was wearing an icy blue dress, had platinum blonde hair and blue eyes. She's absolutely stunning, Jack thought as he slowly approached her. It was then he noticed that her eyes looked puffy, as if she had been crying.
"Hey, are you alright?" Jack asked slowly, trying his best not to startle her. He completely forgot about his own problems, for some reason he only wanted to make sure she was ok.
The woman didn't move from her spot, she didn't even turn her head. Jack let out a sigh as he got a little closer. "Hey..." Jack said as he reached his hand out to her, stopping just before he touched her. He didn't know why, but the thought of having his hand pass through her without her knowing he was there scared him. It was almost if there was something about her that was familiar. Jack shook his head again, he had no idea who he was, let alone someone else. He pulled his hand back and started to walk back to the window. He turned and gave her one last look. "Whoever you are, you're way to beautiful to have sad eyes like that," Jack said before he used a gust of wind to jump out into the night sky.
Elsa jumped as a strong gust of wind came in through the window. She turned to look and her eyes went wide when she swore she saw a figure jumping out of the window. "Who's there?" Elsa asked in a demanding tone as she went over to the window. She looked out and around the window only to find that there was no one to be seen.
She continued to look until her nose caught a scent that was very familiar to her. Her eyes widened more when she realized it was a smell that she had gotten very used to...his smell. "Jack! Is that you?" Elsa asked hopefully out at the night sky, she could have sworn that she had seen someone at the window.
After a moment, Elsa shook her head. "I'm just imagining things. My mind is making me see and smell things of him because that 's what I want." She said sadly, it seemed so real, but she knew that it couldn't be.
She was about to close the window when she noticed how big the moon looked. The same moon that Jack said he used to talk to. "I know that you're up there somewhere Jack." Elsa began as tears started to fill her eyes. "Whenever I see the moon I'll know that you're looking down on me, still watching over me," she said as a lone tear ran down her cheek and to her chin before it dropped to the carpet.
"My guardian."
