Vigilante Chapter 21-Secrets Revealed
"Yes, we will help you"
The 3 squads cheered for the Loonatics, whom they just became the newest members of the Shadow Claws.
While they were celebrating, Jack wanted the Loonatics to know who the real enemy was this entire time. He didn't want to spoil a good moment right now because both the Loonatics and the others are all having fun, something that hadn't happen for a long time.
So Jack walked away from the group and over to a chair so he could watch over everyone while they're having fun.
"Hmmm" Jack sighed. He was surprisingly calm in this situation, normally the newbies would be frightened or try to challenge the others into something so he had to be on edge just in case if something went wrong.
He was spacing out because he wanted to tell the Loonatics the real truth but is right now a good time to tell them? He's not sure why but right now he's questioning himself.
"You ok Shadow?" A voice said out to him.
He looked up to see his wife, May, along with his sister Luna, her second-in-command Lucian, Shasta and his twin sister Mishka were all standing beside him.
"Oh nothing, but I was wondering when it's a good time that we tell them the entire truth." He said as he leaned back in his chair.
Luna wondered but had a suggestion, "I know, we should introduce them to the main commander, like we did for Ace when he joined."
The others agreed by this idea, even though the Loonatics may not know who the leader was but the leader knows them very well.
Jack smiled, "Sure, at least they should know the real truth to why the Shadow Claws were made."
"We're on it, come on Lucian." Luna said as she ran out of the room.
"Yes ma'am" Lucian followed behind her.
Ace was with his teammates, explaining why he joined, but when he seen both Luna and Lucian left the room, he was curious.
He decided to be with his team because they were truly happy to see him, and even Duck was glad. He hugged Ace right away but quickly acted like it was nothing. Under his tough self-loving self, he knows how to be kind to the other members of the Loonatics.
Once he finished telling them, Ace went out to introduce them all to most of the members and have them tell the Loonatics why they each joined.
Somehow Lexi felt sad for hearing why they all had a terrible past to where they only said, 'their enemy'. She didn't know who they were talking about, but if she somehow knew, she will help them all. They had all had their tragedies at a young age. Now they joined together and decided to help the Loonatics because of their main commander's orders.
'Who's their main commander?' Lexi wondered but she had a feeling that they will find out soon.
Lexi decided to not say that question yet and followed Ace around with the other members of the Loonatics.
After a few more minutes of Ace explaining what's going on, Jack looked up to see that the Loonatics were almost done. He got up from his chair and walked over to them.
Ace looked over and knew that his teammates will know who's been the enemy behind everything. He smiled, "Guys, do you want to know who's the main enemy?"
Lexi knew that they're about to find out, "Sure…" She didn't know who it was but she has her suspicions; maybe it was another group of people who knew how to stop them many years ago but could never find them.
Ace looked back to see Jack behind him, "You may proceed Shadow."
"Thank you Ace, for as you may know Loonatics, the Shadow Claws was created for 3 reasons, our first reason is to protect the main commander at all costs. The commander enhanced the first squad and later created the entire organization. The second reason had changed, we use to help our current enemies in the past, but after the incident that had claimed many of our comrades' lives and our happiness, we changed from being helpers and into assassins for hire. The final reason was made not that long ago, after the meteorite that hit this planet, we were ordered to protect the Loonatics, but only if they really needed the help. This only happened once when Mat Tiger had laid rampage onto you guys." Jack said while everyone settled down.
The Loonatics looked at each in disbelief, they were ordered to protect them after they were formed?
Lexi wanted to know more about that last reason, "Could you explain about the final reason?"
Shasta decided to explain it from where Jack left off, "Well we wanted to help you guys because you're one of the few anthros that wanted to help the people out, that's why the main commander started to take a liking to you guys."
Lexi and the guys didn't follow, "Really?"
"Yeah, in fact I'm sure that the main commander here is someone that you know."
Lexi was still confused, "I don't know what you're talking about?"
Shasta hit his head in disbelief, "What, you truly don't know? Well why don't I just tell you right now," Jack and the other leaders and sub-leaders glared at him for almost ruining everything, "The main leader is-Argh," Shasta stopped because someone was choking him, the person responsible was his sister Mishka.
"Why don't you want me to tell?" Shasta wanted to know why.
Mishka smiled, "Because you always like to ruin the surprise brother."
Shasta tapped out because he was about to pass out, "Ok I give."
He was on the ground, trying to breathe because his sister could prevent anyone from breathing if she wanted.
He looked up to see her had a hand out for him, "Are you ok?" She sounded like she was worried like a family member would sound like.
He refused by swatting her hand away and got up, "Shut up, you know that your arm locks could kill someone."
Mishka acted like she had her feelings hurt, so she acted like she was about to cry, "That hurts brother."
Shasta smiled, "I didn't know that you even had emotions."
Mishka realized and stopped herself, "Oh right, I don't. Thanks for being a member of the Shadow Claws, it helps out."
Lexi didn't know about this, that many of the people here no longer have their emotions.
Normally if her brothers would do something like what Mishka did, she would hate them until she forgives them. The big question is; does she have what it takes so she could be like them. If she had to, then she would have to forget about herself and be a completely different person. Lexi knew that would be impossible for her and the Loonatics.
Ace looked over to her, nudged her on the arm and got the guys' attention, "You know that they're lying."
"What do you mean?" Lexi didn't understand what's going on.
Ace chuckled, "That part of 'no emotion' means that they know how to conceal it pretty well so the enemies don't know. This was a clever maneuver to protect the members so the enemies won't use their emotions against them. There's only one person here who has no emotions."
"Who is it," Slam asked the question this time, curious.
Ace pointed out to the dark brown wolf in the crowd, "That dark brown wolf over there, his name is Kai Diamonds also known as 'Reaper'"
Lexi and the guys all remembered why, his family was killed and he later tortured that person to death.
Jack cleared his throat again because of that last unexpected event from Shasta, "Anyway, I do mean to tell you guys why we called the people who betrayed us 'our enemies' is that once we tell you, you will think that we're the bad guys."
"Why? And who's your real enemy?" Tech decided to ask this question because he was the one who wanted to know more.
Jack paused for a moment to think of the right words to say, once he was ready he said, "The people from whom we hated for 18 years were the people who we tried to help many years, the very people that you help today; the police."
The Loonatics gasped because they had always believed that the police were always the good guys. The police never once tried to harm the Loonatics when they became the 'Protectors of Acmetropolis' and once they became the 'Guardians of the Universe' they were treated like the heroes. Why did the Shadow Claws hate the police, was it because something happened?
"Why-do-you-hate-the-police, is-it-because-they-did-something-to-you-many-years-ago? I'd-never-think-that-they-are-the-ones-who-caused-you-problems, normally-I-thought-it-was-another-group-of-people-you-hated?" Rev decided to ask this question. He never found anything wrong with the police all of his life.
"I don't blame you Rev, one of the Shadow Claws' original orders when it was just created was to help the police when they needed the help. They were grateful but after a while, they started to hate us for helping too much, when we had so many members, we almost put the police out of business but that ended horribly," Jack said while he was remembering the past.
"Why did the police hate you guys so much?" Slam asked this question.
May decided to answer this question, "Did you ever realize that there's more humans on the force. The main reason why is that the main leaders in command were humans who always hated the anthro population. The anthros were discriminated by the police so some came together and made the original group and called themselves the Shadow Claws. They wanted to make a difference by helping the police and show the anthros that they can still live with humans in harmony. The police didn't like this at all but if they wanted to arrest them, it will look like they're the bad guys, so they let them work with them for a while. After our commander was introduced to them, they decided to go find more people who will help out the cause."
Duck never realized but he could relate to them, in his life, the humans always hated him. While they have the easy life, he had to fight to survive, "I never knew about this group, what happened to them."
George decided to tell about that, "Once we had enough members to almost 500, something happened to where the president was murdered by some assassins. With no one to blame, they instantly captured the leaders of what is today's Zeta Squad, Tom 'Jacob' and Ella 'Kira' Bunny, along with the other members in their squad. They were all executed publicly as a message that they are going after the members. Somehow the members did the following; they fought, hid or quit. The ones who fought the police fought bravely but they were all killed. The ones who quit were never found initially but even though they still quit, they police found out and later executed most of them. The only ones who made it were the members, who hid from everyone, and many of the members today are either children of the original members or they had a solid reason of hating the police. Jacob and Kira Bunny were killed while Ace was only still a small child."
Lexi felt sorry that they wanted to make a change but she still wondered about the incident, "So do you know who killed the leaders?"
Seth shook his head, "No, no one ever knew why were the leaders killed. No member was told to eliminate them, so that was something that we will never find out."
Lexi wanted to know more on why did the children wanted to fight, "So you all wanted to avenge your parents?"
Cody decided to answer that question, "That's right, we were all not even 13 years old when that incident happened so when the police killed the parents, they decided to kill the children because simply they thought of us as 'Children of Trash'. Many children were killed by them but the ones who were saved joined with us and wanted revenge."
Tech wanted to know why the police never did anything to them yet, "So why did the police never did anything to us yet?"
Jack chuckled at that question, "They have you fooled Tech."
"What do you mean?"
"They were playing you like a fiddle from the start." Jack smiled as he was looking at their surprised expressions.
"Wait a minute, what do you mean 'played us like a fiddle'?" Duck wanted to know.
"Did you ever realize that the security systems in the prisons seemed too perfect to be broken out of but the prisoners still find a way past them?" Jack wanted to see if they would realize what he meant.
Lexi did notice that a few times, "Yeah, I thought that the prisons were impossible to break out from but they still find a way to get out from? Why are you telling us this?"
May decided to continue, "Because when the police wanted to test you guys, they make a deal to the inmates and make the scene make it look convincing. They will continue this until one of 2 things happen: to defeat you by these villains or make you guys accidentally kill someone. If the second part happens, this will be the perfect excuse to have you guys arrested and since that there's no laws to put down animals or be subjected to tortuous methods, they have you guys experimented on and killed for their later creations."
"Experimented? And what's their creations?" Tech didn't know that the police were doing this.
May decided to have the hologram projectors activate and show the Loonatics what they were about to make, "This creature that you see here is something they are making right now. They call this operation 'NIGHTFALL' this creature was a being made from the leftovers of the meteor and the radiation that the powers for the residents here on this planet. The bodies look male but once it has intelligence, we don't know for sure but once it gets ready for combat, the military will have a chance that they will no longer need you. We have some footage here that will show you that these creatures have no apparent weaknesses so killing one will be considered impossible. They have a new ability to transform into anything because of their flexible body. We aren't sure when these abominations will be available for further testing but we need to make sure that these don't see the light of day." May showed them what one of these creatures look like, it looked like a human shaped creature but it has no similarities at all, it has nothing but this light grey skin and the eyes are all black. It may look slender and weak but it could lift a boulder weighing about 2 tons or 1814.4 kilograms with ease. It had long arms and legs for some odd reason but these traits for combat reasons of agility or leaping capabilities.
Lexi tried to comprehend what she just heard but she still didn't hear anything about their commander, "You forgot to mention about the commander, who is it and why did it make the group?"
Jack looked surprised but before he could say anything, the doors opened up.
He looked over to see both Luna and Lucian of Zeta opened the rather large doors, showing another Shadow Claws member, but this one looked different. It had more silver decals instead of the entire outfit being black. So it looked like this one was important.
Lexi and the other Loonatics didn't realize but the Shadow Claws members all got out of the way after the sight of the main commander. They all stood straight and looked like soldiers right in front of their main commanding officer.
The main commander walked in to the lounge room, but Lexi couldn't tell what it's looking at or even thinking.
'So this is the one' Lexi thought as this person was the one who helped the small group of vigilantes into the group of helpers but later turned into the most infamous assassins of the planet.
When the commander was right in front of the Loonatics, it looked at each of them, like it was studying them.
"Is this what you choose, Lexi, Tech, Rev, Duck, Slam?" It said while it had the same voice modifier that the others use for their missions.
Lexi realized that it meant that; 'is this what they chose?'
Lexi stood firm and nodded in approval, "That's right, they gave me the choice and we stand firm on that choice."
The commander tilted its head and laughed, "I'm glad that you found out what happened to your former leader Loonatics. I could say that I could be proud that you are about to fight the actual enemies that caused so much problems over the past 30 years that I was here."
"You knew all along that the police were corrupted, why didn't you try to stop them sooner?" Lexi wanted to know why did the commander wait for about 30 years.
"I wish I could say so, but I had more important matters to attend to."
"What was more important than helping out the people?" Lexi was starting to get furious, if she had the chance, she would've helped out as much as she can.
"Because I was hunted down by someone from somewhere else, I barely escaped with my life. When I got here, I hid for a few months. After that, I seen a small group of anthros that helped defeated someone who committed a crime. I asked them 'why didn't they let the police handle it'. They said that the police can't handle all of the crime but they decided to help them in anyway possible. I asked them who they are; they introduced themselves as Tom and Ella Bunny, along with Todd and Casey Wolf. They decided to call themselves the 'Shadow Claws'. I decided to have them become my personal bodyguards while I help them evolve from being 4 members and into an organization that had more than 300 members. We were well known for being the helpers but that all changed 18 years ago." The commander said.
"Where the main executions happened and many of the members all died." Lexi decided to say that.
The commander nodded, "Yes, after many of our comrades perished, I went into hiding with the surviving members and bided our time until the right time to strike back. Many of the members decided to change our main roles, from being helpers and into assassins. I didn't want that but under these circumstances, I had no choice. I let them turn into the most wanted criminals while I stayed as their main leader."
Duck realized that the others didn't asked about where it came from because the commander said that it escaped from somewhere, "Ok so where did you come from and who did you run away form?"
The commander turned away from the team, "I would explain that but why don't I show you why I ran away," its hand reached up to deactivate the modifier and remove the hood.
When the hood was down, they saw that it had long blonde hair.
'Why does it look familiar?' Lexi recognized this hair, it looked like, "Wait are you-"
The commander turned over before she could say whom it was.
The Loonatics were shocked, that the main leader of the most infamous assassins of the planet was their leader, Queen Zadavia of Freleng.
Ms. Zadavia looked at each of their expressions, "From your expressions, I guess that you must hate me for lying to you guys. I understand for that, but I did this so I can keep the promises for my friends and comrades."
Lexi was the first to say something, "It's not that we're mad at you, but why didn't you tell us right away?"
Zadavia looked at them but she had an expression that meant that she wanted to but couldn't, "I could've but if you guys knew about the secrets of the police right away, you would've attempted to stop us and sided with the police. It seems right to always side with the police but once you found out the truth of the police, I wanted to make sure that you don't have blood on your hands when the time comes. I was too late for keeping Ace away from the truth but I didn't know he would become a great member. And now you found us and know the truth, are you sure about this choice?"
Tech was the first to answer, "Yes ma'am, but how did you find out that the police were cruel?"
Zadavia thought back to when she first arrived her, "I guess that it was when I got away from Optimatus and landed here about 30 years ago."
Lexi knew that she was here for a while but no one ever knew that she was here for 30 years, "What? But how old are you?"
Zadavia knew that her age would surprise anyone, "We Frelengians can live up to 400 years old on Acmetropolis' time scale. Since our planet has some different properties, we could live for a long time."
Jack laughed, "We all said the same things to her to, and even we still don't know her true age."
Zadavia giggled, "Yes, that's one thing I don't want to say. I guess that could be a private matter for me."
Lexi wanted to know on why would Zadavia wanted to kill the cops and her 'sources,' "So the Shadow Claws are your sources when you told us?"
Zadavia forgot that she told them about that, "That's right, I'm glad that you remembered that I said that. It was thanks to them that they find the right people for you guys to arrest."
Rev wanted to ask her something, "Why do you still let us handle these guys and not have the Shadow Claws handle them? Is it because of the police or the law enforcement? And also, are many of the mysterious deaths of the police something that you guys did? And also, how come you never introduced them to us-" Rev had more questions but Tech clamped his beak again.
Zadavia smiled, "The Shadow Claws only work in the shadows while the Loonatics are the ones who the humans trust very much. The only reason why the police die is that they are either looking for a reason to capture you guys or capture the Shadow Claws members. And finally, I did this because it was the only way to prevent you guys from becoming corrupted."
"Corrupted?" Lexi knew that corruption happens all the time but why did it relate with them.
Zadavia sighed, "After the incidents, many members came together and made the plan to kill off the main leaders of the police. I didn't know about this but it was called 'Hell's Fire'; this plan was for the members to come together and kill the main leaders of the law enforcement. Some decided to go corrupted and go on with the plan ahead of time. They all died during this operation but only some of the original law enforcement leaders lived. Even though only one still lived today, his name was Joseph Blake, the new leader of the law. He decided to go into hiding while the police capture the Shadow Claws. We did the same to but now that he's out, we must find a way to kill him."
Lexi never seen Zadavia act this way, was she the real Zadavia that she's talking to?
Zadavia looked at the Loonatics, "So far you know the costs of being a member and know why was this organization created. So right now, you are under Ace's command with Lexi as the second-in-command and Tech as their third-in-command."
Lexi looked over to see Ace beside her. He held her hand tightly, and when he looked at her directly, he smiled happily. He was secretly glad that everything happened. Even though he could've been dead, at least he survived and had the chance to be by her side again.
"I'm proud that you might bring hope to everyone, not just either human or anthro, but to the civilians of Acmetropolis. I'm proud that I help create the Loonatics, you guys always surpass my expectations." Zadavia was proud, that they will help fight the people that they thought were their comrades but once they found the truth, they knew that they had to fight with her original group.
Lexi and the Loonatics all smiled for their leader. They weren't mad at all, they just wanted to know why she made the Shadow Claws and never told them.
"We're not mad Zadavia, it's just that we're still concerning the fact that you never told us about this." Lexi said.
Zadavia somewhat calmed down, she expected them to hate her, "I'm sorry to deceive you guys, but for now; you guys are dismissed. Ace, Lexi and Tech, could I talk to you guys, this is important for being the leader, second and third-in-command."
Everyone else decided to go back to what they were doing but the leaders of the squads.
"Ok sure, what's up?" Lexi knew that this was important.
While everyone else but the leaders of the squads were going about like they would everyday, Duck was feeling bored. He decided to watch some TV.
He sat on the one closest couch to the TV and turned it on, not knowing that there was someone sitting on the same large couch.
He turned over to see a female wolf sitting near the opposite side of the couch. She was on her phone, but in his eyes, he never seen a purple wolf before. So he moved over closer to her, but he noticed that she started to tremble.
"Are you ok?" Duck wondered on why was she doing this.
Even though Lexi wasn't looking, she heard someone say, 'Please stay away.' She looked behind her to see Duck really close to this girl. She didn't recognize her but she was also wearing the cloak, but she had her hood down.
'Who is she?' Lexi wonder who she was but when she looked over to Ace, as he had frightened expression.
"What's wrong?" Lexi asked him.
"This isn't good, we need to warn Duck right away."
"Why?"
"Look over there." Ace pointed over to 3 wolves, George Williams, Chaz Mason and Seth King were getting their weapons out. They were walking over to where Duck was, with an expression that they could kill.
Duck was about to touch her on the shoulder, about to ask but before he could say a thing; someone grabbed him by the neck. He was pulled back by someone and when the person turned Duck around, he seen 3 people in front of him, one had his hand around his neck while the other 2 had their weapons aimed at him.
"WHOA, WHAT'S GOING ON!" Duck tried to quack out of his grip, but when he tried, nothing had happened. This was like the time when he was captured by Optimatus and he had the handcuffs that could disable his powers.
"No one will go near Flower here! You understand Duck." Seth said while he loaded his weapon right in front of Duck.
George looked over to Rose, "He didn't hurt you?"
Flower shook her head, meaning no.
Lexi wanted to intervene but Ace and Jack stopped her. They knew that this would happen but they don't want to interfere.
Lexi decided to see what's about to happen.
"OK OK I UNDERSTAND please let go of me." Duck sort of pleaded for his life, those 3 could've killed him but they decided to scare him first.
Chaz let go of his throat and the other 2 lowered their weapons.
Once he was free, he quacked on out of there. Once he was somewhere else, he hid behind Slam for comfort.
"Who is she?" Lexi questioned Ace and the other leaders of the squads.
"Her name is Rose Winters, the youngest member of Alpha Squad. She is also the shyest member of group because she witnessed her parents' death at the age of 6. So she has a hard time meeting new people and when she doesn't trust them, she starts to tremble. She has a very quiet voice but once she says to stay away, she means that to the person approaching her. We make sure that no one will treat her badly so all of the members will protect her from any new members until she trusts them enough." Jack decided to tell her ahead of time before any of the Loonatics get hurt, well besides Duck.
"How do I get to know her so she could feel comfortable around me?" Lexi wanted to make sure that she wasn't hurt from being around Duck.
"Not sure, but my little sister must know you ahead of time before you meet her. If she starts to talk to you first, then that's a good sign." May decide to tell her because she helped Rose throughout her life.
"Your sister?" Lexi didn't believe this; she thought that she wasn't related.
May smiled as she said, "My maiden name was Winters."
"Is it ok to talk to her?" Lexi wanted to know if Rose would open up to her.
"Go right on ahead, but watch out if she's scared, if the guys here won't attack, she will make sure that she will protect herself." Jack decided to warn her.
Lexi got up and walked over to the couch where Rose sat.
She noticed that the both Artemis and Luna were beside her, trying to comfort her.
Lexi decided to sit on the couch, but not too close for Rose to stat trembling.
Both Artemis and Luna decided to talk to her but wanted invite Lexi, "Hi Lexi." They both said in unison.
"Hi guys, what's up?" Lexi was curious on how will she get Rose's trust.
"Nothing important, but told her to never trust Duck, because he's a no good egotistical person." Artemis said while Rose smiled on what she said.
"HEY, I resent that you know." Duck said but quickly quietly calmed down by the glares of Seth and George.
Everyone all laughed at that because it was considered funny to actually shut up someone who is impossible to shut up.
Shasta decided to call both Artemis and Luna over for something. It wasn't important for them but this was a test to see if Ms. Lexi could get Flower's trust.
With no one else around to make the conservation, Lexi decided to move closer, but made it look like she's not paying attention.
Rose knew that Lexi wanted to know her, but at least she wasn't like the duck from before.
Even though she had nothing to say, she just wanted to see what the others were up to. When she looked behind her, to her amazement; none of the others were shooting her glares like what happened with Duck. They were all hanging with each other like it was a normal day.
After Lexi looked back to the Holo-TV, she also saw Rose do the same, checking on everyone. Even though her hair was over her eyes, she could see them perfectly.
Lexi decided that, since Rose doesn't like to make the first part of the conversation, she might have to.
Lexi looked over to the wolf and said, "I'm sorry that Duck had to make you feel uncomfortable, he always knows how to annoy someone. That's why he was the one who always gets hurt."
Lexi wanted to know what's going to happen next, will she try to be distant or will she reply.
Rose didn't do much be let out a small giggle, even though for Lexi, she could hear it perfectly.
"It's ok Lexi, you don't need to apologize for something that wasn't your fault. The only one to blame here is your friend Duck, he should've known that it's hard for me to trust people." Rose said while she wasn't looking at Lexi.
Lexi knew that she has a hard time trusting people but she wanted to know why "Is it ok to tell me why?"
Rose sighed, "Yeah, it all happened after the members were killed but before we recreated the Shadow Claws. Normally the people from whom I trusted had betrayed me in many ways. Once they found out that I was a child of the Shadow Claws, they will want to use me until they no longer need me. Once they were done with me, they will try to find a way to get me arrested. It was a good thing that my true friends were there they rescued me every time. There were some good people whom I trusted, but they were all killed mysteriously. I knew that this was a reason why I never trust anyone, they would either be killed for knowing me or they will want to kill me."
Lexi was dumbstruck, because Rose has one of the best reasons to join.
Lexi still found a way to find the words to say something, "Were there anyone who wanted to keep you safe?"
Rose looked down to the ground, "There was a few people who wanted to keep us children from harm. They were the members who hid from everyone. The only thing they wanted to do was keep us safe, so they all decided to adopt us all and let us mature. We all had a choice to either forget about the life of the Shadow Claws or help them with their main goals," She looked up at Lexi, "you know what happened next?"
Lexi nodded, "So you all joined without a second thought?"
Rose nodded, "That's right, in order to make our parents proud, I would go into corruption until we finish our goals."
Ace looked over and noticed that Rose felt comfortable enough to talk to Lexi, he smiled, "This is wonderful, the Loonatics and the Shadow Claws are working along perfectly."
Jack nodded in agreement, "I'd never think that this would happen either."
Ace looked directly at Lexi, "Is it ok to tell her how I feel?"
May thought so, "Yes you should, now go after her and ask."
Ace thought that she might've rejected him, but since that she personally went after the Shadow Claws and noticed that she found him, he knew that they love each other.
He got up from his seat and walked over to where Rose and Lexi was at.
Lexi wondered what was he doing, and even Rose but she turned around smiling about something.
When he was right behind the couch, he asked, "Hey Lex, is it ok to talk to you in private?"
Lexi was wondering why would he ask, she looked over to Rose and she had a thumbs up in approval. Lexi nodded her head, "Sure."
The bunnies left the room and into a dark hallway, even though this building was for their headquarters, they still like to have only some lights on so it can stay dark.
Lexi felt uncomfortable in this setting, them alone and in the dark.
"So was it true that you tried to find me, even though everyone else gave up?" Ace knew that many people in the world believe that he's dead, but not Lexi.
"Well, yes. I knew that it takes more than one villain to kill you, you always know how to save the day while the rest of us will back you up. But before you went missing, you said that you love me, was it true?" Lexi was hoping that it was the truth or otherwise she almost died for a lie.
Ace looked away, with his hand to the back of his head, "Well, how should I put this-" He stopped because the both of them heard footsteps.
They both looked out to see who's coming. To their amazement, it was both Artemis and Luna Asuna. They were walking towards them.
"Hi guys whatchya doing." Artemis leaned forward towards them.
"Nothing much, what are you doing?" Ace said to them.
"It looks like they may need some privacy Artemis." Luna said as she grabbed onto her sister's hand and led her away.
"Oh let me go, anyway, bye guys, make sure you don't anything naughty you hear!" Artemis said while her sister was literally dragging her away.
This made both Ace and Lexi feel even more uncomfortable once they heard that.
Ace quickly remembered what he had to say, "Well…That was the truth. I thought that I was going to never see you again, so I decided to tell the truth. I never wanted to tell the truth because I always believed that someone will use that against us. Once I found out that I was still alive, I knew that I had to find you but under these circumstances, I had to stay hidden for a while. I personally wanted you to find love with someone else than me."
Lexi knew that Ace liked her, throughout their endless quests, Ace was always there for her, "I knew that I cant find anyone else because they don't have what you have."
"What is that?" Ace didn't know what she was aiming at.
Lexi leaned closer to him, "They're not you Ace."
Lexi was getting closer towards him and he was to.
What they didn't realize was that there was a pair of hands that came out from the wall behind them.
When they were close enough to where they were having their noses touching, the hands pushed Lexi into the buck.
They both closed their eyes, preparing for the impact.
Ace landed on the floor first, and he felt something on top of him but he also felt something on his lips.
When he opened his eyes he saw Lexi on top of him for some odd reason. Lexi opened her eyes, they wondered what happened but they realized that they were kissing.
Truthfully, they were happy. They wanted to this for a while longer but they stopped because they heard laughing.
Lexi got off of him and helped him up while searching for whoever did this.
She looked back to see a pair of hands out from the wall, "What the?"
The laughing continued and the person responsible appeared from the wall, it was Luna and Artemis.
Lexi knew that one of them or if not, both probably have that power to phase through walls.
Ace was laughing, truthfully he knew that he probably back away from the kiss, but thanks to the twins; he was able to.
Now that he got that off of his chest, he decided to go back to the group, with Lexi, Artemis and Luna.
Jack looked back to see the Asuna twins walked in first and Ace and Lexi. Ace and Lexi had a strange expression on their faces when they walked in, it looked like they did something to where they felt guilty about something.
"So are you sure that you did you know 'that' yet?" Cody was the first to ask that question, because no one will walk into a group of people with that expression.
Ace quickly waved his hands meaning that he means no, "We didn't do that, if that was your thinking, bunch of perverts."
That last comment made everyone laugh out loud.
Lexi instinctively held onto his hand without looking, Ace looked at her and smiled. She knew that joining the Shadow Claws with the person she loved for over 5 years, even though it had taken her friends from her adventures to make her finally see the light, but she's glad that everything fell into place. Even if she had to go into the darkness of corruption, as long as she has her partners and her love, Ace, she would still go there for them, together as a team.
