At the time Vlad specified, Kamen Riders Siren and Phantom Knight arrived in the mirror world version of the plaza. There were quickly joined by Ouja and Camo.

"So this is gonna be a two on two fight," Phantom Knight said.

"Before we begin," Siren said, "I have a question for Ouja: you're Penelope Spectra, aren't you?"

"Yeah, what of it?" Ouja retorted derisively.

Siren screamed in a mixture of rage and excitement after finally coming face to face with her mother's killer. She charged the snake-themed rider as Ouja took a card from her deck and placed it in her reader.

Sword Vent

Ouja caught her sword as it came from the sky and the two began exchanging strikes. Camo decided to leave the two ladies to their business as he looked at Phantom Knight and contemplated his plan of attack.

Unfortunately, Vlad began thinking to himself, Daniel's familiar with my favorite techniques. If I use my Clear Vent, he'll simply counter with his own. And if I have Biogreeza attempt to strangle him from behind, he's probably thought of something to deal with that too.

Camo decided to charge Phantom Knight and adapt to the situation as it developed. Phantom Knight took a card from his deck and placed it in his reader.

Guard Vent

Phantom Knight's energy shield formed around his reader. He decided to go with the shield because he remembered how infuriatingly ineffective his sword was against the reptilian rider in their last battle.

"Why do you want to kill me so much?" Ouja asked as she parried a strike.

"You killed my mother," Siren responded slowly and with almost tangible venom.

"Do you have any idea how little that narrows it down?" Ouja responded dismissively.

Siren yelled as she slashed at Ouja, who delivered a slash at the same time. Both blows connected at made sparks emit from their armors.

"I still don't understand why you're so upset," Ouja said as she stumbled backward from the blow she just received while Siren did the same. "I killed my mother too and you don't see me whining about it."

Phantom Knight used his shield to block a punch from Camo and countered with one of his own. Camo dropped to the ground and tried to do a sweeping kick but Phantom Knight saw it coming thanks to experience from their last fight and jumped over the kick. He then bashed Camo in the head with his shield before Camo got up. Camo began rolling on the ground to put some distance between him and Phantom Knight before getting back up.

"You've gotten much better, Daniel," Camo said.

"Not really: you're just running low on your bag of tricks," Phantom Knight shot back.

"Then this shouldn't come as a surprise to you either," Camo said as he took a card from his deck attached it to a red cord that took it into his reader.

Hold Vent

Camo's ball and rope came from above and landed in his hands. He aimed the ball at Phantom Knight's torso but it was blocked by the ghostly rider's shield. Camo pulled the ball back and threw the ball again and this time, it wrapped around Phantom Knight's ankle.

Shit, Danny thought as Camo tugged on the rope and made him fall back. That was smart of him to change tactics so quickly. Maybe his bag of tricks isn't running so low after all.

Camo ran up to Phantom Knight's right side and kicked him in the thigh, far from where he could block with his shield. Camo was about to deliver another kick when Phantom Knight hit him in the side of the knee with his shield. The ghostly rider then hit Camo in the waist with the side of his shield, which made him fall back. He then opened his reader (which dematerialized his shield) and put a card in it.

Sword Vent

Phantom Knight caught his sword and put the point on the ground push himself up. He then turned to Camo and was about to strike the downed rider Camo started rolling away. Camo pushed on the ground while rolling, which shot him several feet into the air and he maneuvered himself to land on his feet.

Camo faced Phantom Knight and grinned under his helmet as he thought of a new plan of attack. He took a card from his deck and attached to the red cord that pulled it into his reader.

Clear Vent

Camo vanished and ran towards Phantom Knight. He's going to after my right leg again to incapacitate me, Danny thought. He held out his sword and waited for what he hoped would be the best time to strike. He made a horizontal slash to his right side that hit Camo, causing sparks to come from his armor and his Clear Vent to wear off.

Phantom Knight tried to follow through with a downward strike, but Camo blocked with his forearm and countered with a punch to Phantom Knight's chest

While this was going on, Siren had taken a card from her deck and placed it in her sword.

Guard Vent

Siren caught her shield and used its power to teleport behind Ouja. She slashed at Ouja's back and teleported to her right side to deliver another slash.

That is some shield, Spectra thought. I must have it.

Ouja took a card from her deck and put in her reader.

Steal Vent

Siren appeared right in front of Ouja and attempted another slash, but her shield disappeared and reappeared in Ouja's left hand and was then used to block her strike. Ouja vanished rematerialized behind Siren and slashed her back.

Shit, Star commented to herself as she took out a card and placed it in her sword.

Sword Vent

Siren was hit from the left as she caught her bladed staff. She began spinning around with both blades out in the hopes that she hit Ouja wherever she popped up. This tactic paid off and she caught Ouja off-guard. Siren stopped spinning and slashed with her staff. Ouja blocked with the pilfered shield, the impact causing it to disintegrate.

Ouja used her sword to knock Siren's staff out of the swan-themed rider's hands and followed through with a strike to her torso. Siren grabbed her sword and parried a strike from Ouja. The snake rider kicked Siren in the side of the leg to set Siren off-balance and delivered two more strikes to her torso.

"This has been fun, but I think it's time for you to go see your mother," Ouja said as she took a card from her deck and put in her hip-mounted rider.

Final Vent

Venosnaker crawled up to behind Ouja, who jumped up in the air. When she was level with Venosnaker's head, the snake beast unleashed a blast of Venom that propelled Ouja towards Siren while Ouja was doing a series of bicycle kicks. Ouja kicked Siren several times before she was shot backwards with massive amounts of sparks coming from her armor. Siren landed on her back as her advent deck was destroyed and her armor disappeared.

"Star," Phantom Knight said as he took a card from his deck and placed in his reader.

Clear Vent

Phantom Knight turned invisible and went over to his downed ally while slashing Camo on the way. Camo knew where Phantom Knight was going but decided there was no harm in letting them say their goodbyes while Phantom Knight used up his Clear Vent.

"I'm here, Star," Phantom Knight said as he held her hand.

"Danny," Star said weakly as she returned his grip. "Thank you for trying to help me. I wish I could have gotten to know you earlier. Promise me you'll make them pay."

"I promise," Danny said with great rage building inside him that made him look forward to fulfilling it.

Star finished disintegrating as Biogreeza turned visible several feet from him. The chameleon monster stretched his tongue out and then around the sphere of energy that had appeared from the destruction of the Siren advent deck. Phantom Knight saw the tongue and slashed it with his sword, ensuring that Camo's contract beast would not profit from the death of another one of his allies.

Phantom Knight turned visible after severing Biogreeza's tongue as Phantomas appeared behind him and absorbed the energy sphere, which made him brightly glow yellow. Phantomas shot a small, yellow ball energy towards Phantom Knight, who caught it in an outstretched hand. The ball turned into a card in Phantom Knight's hand. It had a picture of a yellow, right wing and had the word 'SURVIVE' on top.

Phantom Knight was about to put it in his reader when a flash of green flame made his sword vanish and his reader change shape. It had transformed into a blaster about as long as his forearm with the ghost face at the front and a black square on the left side that looked like it might have been a slot for cards. Phantom Knight opened a hatch on the front of the blaster that looked like the ghost face on the front was opening its mouth. Phantom Knight put the new card in the 'mouth' and closed it.

Survive

A flash of green energy went over Phantom Knight and changed his armor. His chest plate was now white with black trims and bigger than it had been with a ghost face on the front. His gauntlets and shin guards now had designs of neon green flames on them and his face guard now had a neon green strip on the top.

I feel incredible, Danny thought as he took a card from his deck and glared at the two enemy riders underneath his helmet and wondered which one he was going to kill first. Vlad seems to be the brains of the operation, so I'll kill him first. Don't worry, Star: I'll make Spectra pay for you and your mother and Valerie soon enough, Danny thought as he took a card from his deck and placed it in the slot on the side of his blaster.

Shoot Vent

Phantomas appeared behind Phantom Knight and transformed. He grew to over three times his original size and his nubby hands were replaced by thin, black arms that had four claws each. This new evolved form was called Phantogigas.

Phantom Knight pointed his blaster at Camo as a blue laser sight came from it. Camo started running to the left to make himself a harder target for whatever attack was about to come as Phantom Knight tried to keep the laser sight on him. Phantogigas brought his hands together and started shooting large, green fireballs at Camo. The first two missed their target while causing explosions that made Camo stumble. The third and last fireball hit Camo and caused him to fall back as many sparks came from his armor.

I've had a good partnership with Vlad, but I think it's time that it came to an end, Ouja thought as she decided to abandon Camo and began walking away. She did not get far when Wing Knight glided in front of her from above with her cape equipped.

"I've looking forward to round two with you," Wing Knight said as she took a card from her deck and the guard on her sword changed to its shield form while her cape disappeared. She put the card into a slot on the shield and withdrew her changed sword.

Survive

A black wind overcame Wing Knight and transformed her into Survive Mode.

"Not another one!" Ouja said as Wing Knight charged her. She slashed at Wing Knight, who blocked with her shield and countered with a slash of her own.

Back with Phantom Knight and Camo, the reptilian rider had gotten back on his feet as Phantom Knight pressed a switch on the side of his blaster that popped out a curved, 3 foot long blade from the top of his weapon like a switch blade.

"I'm a little disturbed with myself about how much I'm looking forward to your death," Phantom Knight said. "I'll have to deal with that later, once I've gotten revenge for all my friends who've died because of you."

"You're going to need more than bold words and this new form of yours to make that happen," Camo said as he took a card from his deck and put it in the reader on his thigh.

Copy Vent

An image of Phantom Knight came from and went over to Camo, turning him into a mirror image of Phantom Knight complete with a duplicate of his weapon. "Let's see if you have what it takes to follow through with your threats," Camo finished.

The two Phantom Knights charged each other and slashed their swords. The original's sword cut through the duplicate's, hit Camo and dispelled his Copy Vent because Camo's card could only replicate the appearance of Survive Mode, not it's power. Phantom Knight followed through with another slash and Camo took a card from his deck.

This probably won't work, but I'm out of options, Vlad thought as he attached the card to the cord on his reader.

Advent

Biogreeza appeared behind Phantom Knight, stretched out his tongue, wrapped it around the empowered rider's neck and began squeezing. Phantom Knight learned the hard way that Survive Mode did nothing to make this form of attack any less effective as he clutched at the tongue and used his newly enhanced strength to pry it off.

While he did this, Camo ran up to him and kicked his blaster out of his hand. Phantom Knight didn't let this get to him and countered with a punch to Camo's torso that made him stumble back a few steps. He raised his right arm to follow through with a quick punch when Biogreeza wrapped its tongue around his left leg and pulled back to make him fall forward. Phantom Knight returned the favor by tugging with his left leg hard enough to make Biogreeza fall and hit his head.

Camo walked up to Phantom Knight as Biogreeza retracted its tongue and kicked Phantom Knight in his right side. The ghostly rider pushed Camo's leg hard enough to make Camo fall to ground and got back on his feet. He rand over to his blaster and picked it up.

Let's see what other cards I get from this new mode, Danny thought to himself as he took a card and placed it in the blaster's slot.

Nasty Vent

Phantogigas appeared next to Biogreeza (who had gotten back on its feet) an unleashed a powerful scream that hit the Chameleon creature with enough force to send him to the ground and make several sparks come from its body. Both contract monsters vanished when the sonic assault was over.

I'm gonna have to remember that one, Danny thought.

Meanwhile, Wing Knight and Ouja had been exchanging blows. Ouja had been putting up a good fight but she was no match for the power of Survive mode. She took a card from her deck and placed it in her reader.

Advent

Wing Knight heard that and saw Venosnaker slither towards her. She took a card of her own and placed it in her sword's slot.

Blast Vent

Darkwing flew onto the battlefield and evolved into Darkraider. Darkraider opened its wing's and unleashed twin blasts of wind from its turbines just as Venosnaker attempted to spit acid on Wing Knight. The wind blasts hit Venosnaker with hurricane force and blew its acid onto itself. The large cobra cried out in pain as it was knocked to the ground and then slithered away from the battle.

Wing Knight was grinning from ear to ear under her helmet at the sight of defeating Venosnaker. "This is for you, Ember," she said as she placed a new card in her sword.

Final Vent

She 'sheathed' her sword into her shield as Darkraider flew towards her. She jumped onto her partner, who then assumed its motorcycle form. Wing Knight faced Ouja and hit her with the immobilizing beam. Wing Knight rocketed towards the snake rider as her cape formed a drill bit in front of her. She collided with Ouja, causing Ouja to fly backward as a massive amount of sparks came from her armor.

She landed on the ground and her advent deck shattered, removing her armor and leaving her vulnerable to the corrosive effects of Mirror World. She began laughing as she faded out of existence.

"What's so damn funny, you psycho?" Wing Knight asked.

"Of all the people I've killed," Spectra began, "I get killed over a down-on-her-luck, two-bit rock n' roller with delusions of fame. It's hilarious!" Spectra continued laughing even as she finished disintegrating.

"That was creepy in at least three ways," Wing Knight commented out loud.

Back with Phantom Knight and Camo, Phantom Knight took a card and placed it in his blaster.

Final Vent

Phantogigas changed into a large, capsule-shaped motorcycle that drove up to Phantom Knight, who climbed on board. Phantom Knight started driving towards Camo as Phantogigas became wreathed in neon-green flames. The motorcycle/fireball hit Camo, making him fly back as sparks came from his armor.

He landed on the ground as his advent deck shattered, removing his armor. "Well done, Daniel," Vlad said as he began disintegrating. "I didn't think you had the guts to go through with killing me. I'm glad that my influence will live on past me," he smiled as he faded from existence.

"And now I want to take a bath in hand sanitizer," Phantom Knight said, extremely creeped out by Vlad's last words.

He looked around plaza and saw Wing Knight some distance away. He walked over to her. "Hi Sam," he greeted.

"Danny," Sam greeted back. "Nice Survive Mode form."

"Thanks. How long have you been here?'

"I glided in about the time you tried to blow up Camo with giant fireballs. I saw Ouja try to make a run for it while you focused on him. I killed her."

"Thanks for that."

"For killing her?" Wing Knight asked. "I thought you were against that."

"Things change," Phantom Knight responded.

Wing Knight knew what he meant. In the beginning, she had no issues with the death-match aspect of the Rider War but seeing Ember murdered made her realize that was more complicated than simply sacrificing a couple random people for the noble goal of saving the environment.

"Wait a minute," Phantom Knight said. "If Siren, Camo and Ouja are dead, that means you and I are the only ones left to determine who will fight Wrath for the grand prize."

"Siren's dead too?" Wing Knight asked.

"It happened right before you got here," Phantom Knight explained and then flipped his blaster's blade out. "You want to do this now or later?"

"Later," Wing Knight answered. "What do you say we settle this sunset tomorrow, at that old factory southwest of town?"

"Sounds good," Phantom Knight said as turned and walked away.

There's been so much death, Danny began thinking. And what has it all been for? Maybe I should let Sam win: saving the environment might make all that death mean something. If only there were some way to…., Danny's eyes widened underneath his helmet as an idea occurred to him.

Earlier, Star had asked him what he would wish for if he won the Rider War. He didn't have an answer then, but he did now.
