Chapter 20: Unseen danger

Yue got out of her school and she sighs a little worried. She didn't see Serge during the day and she wondered if anything happen to her friend. Serge didn't like school that much but he is not someone who's going to miss it.

She walked at the direction of the temple like usual and she entered in the building. In the temple, she saw Gustave waiting for her.

"Hi there!" Said Gustave. "Is something wrong?" He then went serious.

"Well...Serge wasn't at school today...He doesn't really like school but he never miss it." Said Yue.

"I don't know what happen." Said Gustave. "I am not at the same school and I was busy studying. I had to update a lot since my absence in Europe...I remember how much funny it was a few times."

"That's...true...*Sigh* Why am I even telling you this...I should have called his mother." Said Yue.

"There is a good reception here...Even with my actual old cellphone." Said Gustave.

"Yeah." Said Yue. "But I don't want to speak to her right now...So I'll wait. She can be upset for a long time."

"I guess she wasn't the Fire Outpost guardian for nothing." Gustave chuckled a little. "Alright...We should practice for now." Said Gustave.

"That's the only thing we can do now." Said Yue.

Marie looked at them seriously a second before talking.

Yue also nods when she knew it was business time.

They followed her until they reach Argus, Vigilant Seer and the other outpost guardians are there.

"What's the matter?" Asked Gustave.

"Look." Said Shao.

They looked at the globe and they saw the separatist at different place. The 2 place they are is the school and around the place they fight him last time.

"What are they doing?" Asked Gustave.

"Searching." Said Eric.

"Elaborate." Asked Gustave.

"Searching for Serge." Said Eric. "They tried to trap him before."

"I can guess that is their plan." Said Shao.

"We had to warn Serge." Said Gustave.

"I'll call his mother while you decide what the plan is." Said Shao taking his cellphone.

"Alright...Shao asked a plan so...We had to take the initiative so we had time to think. They are divided...But I don't see Jeff." Said Marie.

"He is not at the school where he can be." Said Yue. She putted her hand on her shoulder and thought about it.

"They are watching his track." Said Gustave. "I think they are hunting him now...Like they don't have that much time now."

"Well...I don't know why they are hurrying up." Said Marie. "But they are only 3 and we should have that much trouble. We are 5."

"Jeff isn't around here. So he might try to surprise us." Said Eric. "He might have a few others we don't know about."

"Maybe." Said Gustave. "I think we should split up and we kick their ass in an awesome way."

"I've called Angelina. She said they are coming here and Serge is probably in the Kaiju realm. So they will not find him even if they are searching." Said Shao.

"Okay...So we are going now." Said Gustave.

"No. They do not know he is not here. We don't have to intervene." Said Shao. "We will remained her and monitories their action."

"You want us to sit there and do nothing?" Asked Gustave.

"No. We are watching for now. Jeff absence worries me the most." Said Shao.

"Jeff..." Said Eric. He grunted a little.

"He wasn't there a lot." Said Yue.

"But when it is something like that...Jeff will be present." Said Shao.

"I can agree with that. He is only there when it is duty time." Said Marie.

They nod and they watched that is going to happen now.

Kaiju realm: Fire civilisation: Blastforge city

The Attack Raptor landed brutally near the town. Serge coughed a little by the brutal landing.

"I should start to get use to this...But I'm not." Said Serge.

"You will eventually." Said Burnclaw. He then said nothing and he looked at Serge. "I hope for you."

"Good thing your gut is good to protect me from injury." Said Serge giving him a small tap at his stomach.

"Don't get too use of it." Said Burnclaw with a small chuckled.

They both get down and they walked in the city.

"Do you think I'll draw attention?" Asked Serge.

"Look around." Answered Burnclaw.

He saw a few fire creatures looking at him with curiosity and wondering what Serge is. A few of them looked at Serge for more than a few seconds.

"You had nothing that can hold their interest." Said Burnclaw.

"That is good...Right?" Asked Serge.

"It is. If they are interested...You don't really want to know what's in their mind. Some fire creatures can be a little aggressive. We are a fighting type of creature." Said Burnclaw. "Alright...We now need to find the armor shop where I'll ask him some upgrade for my weapon."

They started walking in the town and a lot of creatures walked around them. Serge walked behind Burnclaw while looked around with curiosity. He didn't saw a living town like that before. The fire civilisation is different from Quebec. Quebec was an important town but he knew it wasn't like Montreal. Quebec is more a tourist town with his history.

They continued walking until Burnclaw stopped. Serge saw him and he stopped and he didn't bump behind his partner. He walked by the side and he wondered why he stopped walking.

"Well...Burnclaw...It good to see you again." Said a voice with a little sarcasm in it and some grudge in it.

Serge looked at the one talking to Burnclaw. He recognises Blastforge Slavetrader from the tablet when he searched before.

Blastforge Slavetrader is a tailless drakon. He is a little longer than Burnclaw. He had yellow skin covering his muscular body. He wears a red metallic short. He wears red bracelet at his wrist. He has long brown hair on his back and some are attacked by a silver ring. He had a red bandana on his head. The back of his head is a brown horn like stone.

"What is your business?" Asked Burnclaw.

"You seem to be in a hurry." Said Blastforge.

"I had something else to do Blastforge; if you had nothing, then they out of my way." Said Burnclaw.

"I had to talk to you about when you left me behind with the other bounty hunters. 1)" Said Blastforge. He looked at the eyes of Burnclaw.

"We couldn't defeat Tatsurion and we retreat. We couldn't win this time." Said Burnclaw without explaining more.

"He could have kill me if he didn't choose to let me go...Luckily...Hum...What's by your side? Hum...A lunch?" Asked Blastforge.

Serge glared at him but he didn't have time to reply when Burnclaw stood in front of his partner and sent a treat.

"If you touch him...I'll make sure this will be the last thing you'll do." He said darkly to Blastforge. He drew his knife and pointed at Blastforge throat. "And my threats are never empty."

"Alright." Said Blastforge raising his hand and backing away. "He's not a lunch...Who is he then?"

"He is an associate of me." Said Burnclaw. "If there is nothing else. Go away." He adds before Blastforge could reply.

"..." Blastforge turned around and he walked away.

Burnclaw watched him and when he was away he turned at Serge.

"When you see one of the Slavetrader. Never trust them at anything. They are even less trustworthy than me." Warned Burnclaw. "You shouldn't leave my side."

"I do not intend to do that my friend." Said Serge.

"Slavetrader isn't that much of a treat when you don't have a bounty on your head and you can fight back...Also...If he is alone. If he had a few other bounty hunters...This is not a good sigh and he always intended to act." Warned Burnclaw.

They continued walking until they reached the armory shop.

"Here we are...Let's go." Said Burnclaw.

They both entered in the shop.

"Well...I can imagine a USA armory shop to be that way." Said Serge.

Human realm: Kaijudo temple

Everyone watched the movement of the separatist for a while and Gustave became bored after a while.

"I don't think you really need me and helping you watching them." Said Gustave. "They obviously don't know he is in the kaiju realm. He is safe for now."

"What worries me is Armando." Said Shao. "If he became too impatient...It can be dangerous."

"I already fight him before and I can tell you that this is not something you will like to see." Said Marie.

Yue looked at the globe and she still saw nothing about one thing.

"I still hadn't seen Jeff." Said Yue.

"Anyway I-" Marie stopped talking.

"What?!" Asked Gustave.

"They all took their cellphone at the same time." Said Marie.

"A conference call..." Said Shao. "I fear they are starting to make their move now."

They looked in the globe and they saw that they hang up and they walked away to a specified location. Armando had excitement in his face.

"He planned something that he liked. Be ready." Said Shao.

Marie took her glove and got ready.

"Kids...Get ready too...I'll call Amelie and when she is here...We are making our move." Said Marie. "Are you ready Eric?"

"I'll stay here and watch...Shao...Give them the honor of your presence...It will be my turn to watch." Said Eric.

"...It is always the light one who watched in the globe unless it is necessary." Said Shao. "Is it personal?"

"...No...I know more about Jeff than you." Said Eric.

Shao looked at Eric who looked right in his eyes and he nods with a small smile.

"Fine...But you better call everyone if you find out what Jeff is doing." Ordered Shao.

"I will." Said Eric.

"Let's wait and see where they are before moving out." Said Shao.

Everyone nods and they watched the globe and wait to see what will happen now.

Kaiju realm: Blastforge city

Burnclaw and Serge got out of the armory shop and Burnclaw looked at the bullet before charging it in his weapons.

"I hope those upgrades will be useful." Said Burnclaw. "Those bullets are made to pierce armor more efficiently."

"I hope it too then." Said Serge.

"Yeah...You touch nothing like I ask you...Because it is dangerous to touch anything in there." Said Burnclaw.

"So...Did it blow up?" Asked Serge.

"...How did you know that? Someone touch an explosive and BOOM! It had to be rebuilt." Said Burnclaw surprise that he found out the answer.

"Not really. It was just a guess...I mean...I've saw the mine exploding and there is bomb." Said Serge.

"Alright...Well...I think we should return now. If your mother is there...we better be over there soon." Said Burnclaw a little nervously. "I don't want her to send Skycrusher to destroy me."

"Alright...This town was interesting to see it...Not the same as home." Said Serge.

They walked at the direction outside the town.

Human world: Kaijudo temple

The duelmasters continued watching the globe and they saw that they opened a veil and Memory swamp appeared.

"Looks like it's time." Said Gustave.

"What is going on?" Said a voice.

The group turned around and they saw Amelie and her mother walking in.

"The separatist entered into action." Said Shao. "We are moving out and we will stop them...I don't know why they attack the theater but we had to be ready."

"Well...I was about to ask Eric too...Wait...Why are they there?" Asked Amelie. "I received the call but you didn't give me all the detail."

"They are searching to kidnap Serge...They then decided to go at the theater and attack it without any real reason." Said Marie. "We had to go Amelie."

They walked away. Angelina felt like she had been forgotten in this.

"Alright...Just a sec." Said Amelie. "Eric...Since you are the one staying here...I want you to tell my mother where is Burnclaw house. She wants to talk with Serge."

Eric nods and he looked at her. Amelie then walked away.

"I never see you before." Said Eric.

"I was the ex-Fire Outpost Guardian." Answered Angelina. "I am surprise that no one took my place yet."

"I don't know why...But Shao wasn't interest in replacing the previous one...And we also don't have too many since Jeff and some our own had break up with the temple." Said Eric.

"More like separate their way...What they want?" Asked Angelina.

"They want to destroy the kaiju realm and the creatures there." Said Eric.

"Okay...Can you open the veil please?" Said Angelina.

Eric nods.

"You know Jeff...He was the one who train me." Said Eric.

"I know him well enough...before I quit...I don't know why he quit thought." Said Angelina.

Eric opened the veil and he looked at her.

"You remember how to come back?" Asked Eric.

"Of course." Said Angelina.

Theater

The group was outside the theater and they walked at the direction of the door and they looked at it.

"Well...Who's up for a play?" Asked Gustave. "Because we are bringing the cool now."

"*Sigh* What did Europe do to you?" Asked Shao.

"Alright...Let's enter now." Said Amelie. "I do not like what will happen now."

"Me too." Said Marie. "Where is Jeff? Did he decide to stay behind this time?"

"I don't know." Said Yue.

"Let's go everyone." Said Gustave.

He entered first and the 4 others follow him and they walked inside the theater. Marcus saw them entering and he smirked.

"Jeff...They are inside...It is your turn to act now." Said Marcus.

AC: This is the end. The next part will be more interesting I can assure you. I just had some trouble with this chapter and it didn't come out as great as I hoped for.

1) It happens after episode 21. Burnclaw isn't inactive when Serge isn't there. He continued hunting Tatsurion when he can.
