Ending the Haunt

Chapter 21

"Everything is too fucking loud."

Laxus didn't disagree with Cobra's statement. It was loud- the church was bustling with noise and chatter, echoing off the scaling walls. It was bad for Laxus and the other five dragon slayers- it was torture for Cobra, who could only deal with loud noises after getting used to them. Only reason why he could stand to be inside of the guild building now. Before the Poison Dragon Slayer would only spend, at max, a few minutes in the building but dragging Kinana off somewhere much quieter (those were usually their dates).

The church was large and spacious- up until people started to arrive. Now the building was filled to the brim with people- probably all of Hellbringer's connections with the Underworld. It was insultingly easy to infiltrate the place. They were all hiding in the crowd in various locations, with minimally disguises. Laxus, Cobra, and the Old Man were all in the back, swallowed up by the people. The guards- a laughable amount- against the walls couldn't focus on one single person, their gaze just barely hitting the top of everyone's head.

If it wasn't for the fact that Hellbringer is a prideful fuck face who thinks everyone is below him and would never attack him, Laxus would believe that this was a trap.

The Wedding March song started to play, silencing the chatter. Laxus watched as Fried walked onto on the platform, back painfully straighter. He was wearing a three piece black suit with a black tie. His hair was pulled back into a ponytail that was tied off at the base of his neck. A black rose with dark crimson tips was pinned to his jacket. He looked good, though looking like he was at funeral. His funeral. It was obvious that he was being forced to stand there, the guards with their hands ready to pull out a weapon. Hellbringer was standing right behind his mate, stone faced with icy eyes.

The church doors opened and, walking in like she owned the world, dressed in white and lace, Meg walked in. The dragon inside of Laxus raised its' head and growled, growing increasingly tired of the woman's presence in this whole mess. All eyes were on the woman as she walked, smug faced, down the aisle to stand right next to Fried, looking at him with something akin to lust and desire. Even from his place in the back, Laxus could see the dismay and anger in Fried's hard eyes as he stared back. Just then, the priest walked up to stand behind the dark podium, starting to speak the opening words, "We have been invited here today to witness and celebrate the uniting in marriage of bride and groom. They are taking the first step of their new beginning; their new life together. The ability and desire…"

The blonde mage wanted to laugh. And destroy stuff.

The desire to stand up, grab Freed, level the whole fucking building till nothing but dust and ash remained, and go the hell home was overwhelming. But he stayed still, fingers digging into his thighs, fangs biting the inside of his cheek, eyes staring at the ceremony. Soon enough this stupid fucking thing would be done and everyone would be back at the guild and Freed would be back home. Sure enough, after what felt like forever and a day, the words "speak now or forever hold your peace" were spoken and the Master's voice immediately came after.

"I object."
