Alistair stood in the lobby of the hospital. He had one last bit of business left to attend to. Taking his cellphone out of his coat pocket, he quickly dialed a number.

"Hello?" a female voice answered with a Russian accent.

"Yes, this is Alistair Crane."

"Ah, Mr. Crane. I've been expecting a call from you." she answered back. This heavy-accented Russian woman was a nurse hired to care for Sheridan's stolen child.

"How's the spawn of Antonio doing?" Alistair asked.

"Oh, she has been a little angel. She's by far the most well-behaved baby I've ever had the pleasure of looking after." the nurse replied.

"That's good to know. My grandchildren have always been well-behaved. Until they all turned on me."

"And to what do I owe your call, Mr. Crane? You made it out to be quite urgent."

"I'm just calling to tell you that our timetable has been moved up. The next phase of my plan is about to be set in motion. Endgame starts in a matter of hours, and you play a large part in it my dear."

"I'm glad you've placed so much faith in me, Mr. Crane."

"You come highly recommended by my friends in Russia. They told me you have a habit of being discreet and that you're loyal to a fault."

"My reputation proceeds me, then." she replied.

"Indeed it does. You just make sure you take good care of my granddaughter. She and Victoria are essential in my plans. Fancy can never find out I stole her child and gave it to Sheridan until the time is right, but Sheridan can never find out I switched her real baby with Fancy's. As far as you or anyone else is concerned, Sheridan miscarried that night."

"I understand." she replied.

"Good. We'll be in touch and expect a visit from me later tonight." he hung up the phone.

"Sheridan's daughter will be brought up by me and raised to be a true Crane. To hell with Julian, and Sheridan and Fancy. Its about time I rectified the mistakes I made with Sheridan growing up. The mistakes I made with all of them. I'll raise my own branch of Cranes. Both of my granddaughters will grow up knowing the true power that comes with being a Crane. The name Crane will strike terror into the hearts of everyone in Harmony once again."

FLASH

Luis paced back and forth anxiously in the waiting room, having discovered a barely conscious Fancy at the foot of the staircase. Sam and Julian were also in the room, both had grim looks on they're faces.

"What is taking them so long?" Luis spoke up.

"Luis, calm down she's only been in with the doctor five minutes." Sam replied.

"How can I calm down? Any minute now he could come in here and tell me my wife is dead." Luis said.

"You can't think that way." Sam replied.

"Sam is right. Right now my daughter needs you to stay strong, for her sake as well the baby's." Julian replied.

"Isn't this something? You and I used to be at each others' throats. I blamed you for Martin walking out on us. I took it out on you and your entire family. I even made your sister's life hell just to satisfy my ego. I just want to say I'm sorry for that, Julian. You're a good man, a good father, and a good father-in-law. I just want you to know that." Julian put his hand on Luis' shoulder.

"I love you, son. And so does my daughter." the two hugged.

"Well, well, well. Isn't that precious?" Alistair, having witnessed the entire exchange.

"I never thought I'd see the day when a Crane and a Lopez-Fitzgerald would display such a vomit-inducing lovefest. Much less my own son with my hated enemy."

"Get out, father. You're not welcome here."

"Don't be rude Julian. After all, it was my money that all but built this place from the ground up. Perhaps you outta show a little more respect." Alistair replied.

"You heard your father, Julian. Don't be rude. After all Alistair here was gracious enough to come here, saved us the trouble of having to track him down. And now that you're here Alistair, maybe you can answer a few questions? Namely the circumstances behind your miraculous return from the dead?" Sam replied sarcastically.

"What can I say Bennett? We Cranes are nothing if not persistent. I'd fight my way through hell and back just to see the horrified looks on all your faces."

"I watched you die father. No one could come back from a wound like that, not even you. Viki shot you in the heart. I watched as they zipped you up in a body bag. You were dead!" Julian replied.

"Julian, perhaps you should consider investing in some eye glasses, because as you can see I'm very much alive. And anxious to get back to the all important job of making all your lives a living hell."

"And you do do that well, don't you father?" Julian said.

"We all saw your body, Alistair. You were cold as ice. You care to explain that?"

"I don't have to explain a thing to you, Bennett."

"Well then, you can either explain it to us here, or at the station."

"I'm not going anywhere without a lawyer." Alistair replied.

"Alistair, everyone in this room knows you shot your own son in cold blood and you never paid for it. I have grounds to bring you in with or without your permission."

"Yes, Miles has to grow up fatherless thanks to you." Julian replied.

"Miles, Miles, Miles... Sorry, who is Miles?"

"He's your grandson father, not that you care." Julian replied.

"Who the bastard son of Chad and Whitney? And you'd be right, I don't." Alistair replied.

"Luis, you've been awfully quiet. I figured you of all people would want to have it out with father. Luis?" a worried Julian asked again. Luis had just been staring at Alistair the whole time.

"Luis son, are you alright?" Julian asked again.

"It was you. You did this to Fancy." Luis finally spoke. "I'll get you for this!" Luis yelled as he lunged at Alistair. He had to be physically restrained by both Julian and Sam.

"Wait a minute! Wait a minute!" Julian yelled as he desperately tried to hold his son-in-law back.

"I'll kill you for this, you son of a bitch!" Luis yelled.

"Yeah, you and everyone else." Alistair replied sarcastically.

"Luis, will you please calm down? You're making a scene!" Julian replied.

"The hell I will! Alistair is the reason why Fancy fell down the stairs!" Luis said. "I swear old man, if Fancy dies its gonna be on your head! I'll kill you and make sure you stay dead this time!"

"Chief Bennett, instead of harassing little old me perhaps you should consider arresting your crazed in-law for making threats."

"Shut up, father!" Julian yelled.

"Oh, its no threat Alistair. Its a promise." Luis replied.

"Empty promises. Just like the ones your homewrecker father Martin used to make to your mother Pilar. You Lopez-Fitzgeralds are predictable to the very end." Alistair said.

"You take that back you bastard!"

"Truth hurts, doesn't it Luis?! With your father's impotence its a wonder he managed to have five children are you sure you're really his offspring?" Alistair replied.

"Father, I already told you to shut up!" Julian replied.

"Or you'll what son? Pelt me with more fake bullets? You know, perhaps I'd be dead if your whore of a wife Eve had actually bothered to fill the cartridge with bullets that actually worked! I guess all those years of snorting cheap cocaine and giving people lapdances affected her brain."

"Okay, none of this is getting us anywhere! Now Luis, I want to release you. But I need your guarantee you won't touch Alistair." Sam said.

"Fine." Luis replied.

"Now, calmly explain to us what you meant when you said Alistair is the reason why Fancy fell down the stairs."

"Exactly what I said. You see Julian, you're wonderful father over there is the reason your daughter is in there fighting for her life and our unborn child's life."

"Luis how do you know this?" Sam asked.

"Because he came to our house. I walked in and Fancy was at the bottom of our staircase. God only knows how long she had been there."

"I thought Fancy had already lost consciousness when you got there?" Sam replied.

"No, she only lost consciousness when the paramedics arrived. But before she did she said one thing and only one thing. She said your name, Alistair. You left your own pregnant granddaughter for death! What kind of a monster are you?"

"The type that doesn't tolerate my family members fraternizing with the enemy. As far as I'm concerned if Fancy loses her baby, I did her a favor! No granddaughter of mine should have the displeasure of carrying your spawn for one more minute!"

FLASH

Alistair went to leave, when he suddenly felt a searing pain in his chest. Alistair went tumbling into the coffee cups, knocking them down in all directions in the floor.

"No, not now! Not when I'm so close to my goals!" Alistair said through gritted teeth as he leaned on the counter. He began to unbutton his shirt. The scar from his chest wound from Viki's gun glowed a grayish glow.

"Your soul belongs to us, Alistair Crane!" a disembodied voice spoke.

"Alistair Crane belongs to nobody!" Alistair replied.

"You knew there were consequences when you sold your soul to Satan, old man. We have plans, and you're going to help us carry them out, whether you like it or not."

"I do no ones' bidding but my own." The pain intensified.

"I'm afraid you don't have a choice in the matter, Alistair. For once you're not the one in control here. We are."

"What is it you want from me, anyway?"

"We want Endora."

"Endora, the inbred witch? What could you possibly want with her?" Alistair asked.

"Her powers. Endora belonged to us and her mother Tabitha stole her from us."

"What does that have to do with me?" Alistair asked.

"You're her grandfather. You've expressed interest in taking her away from her mother, yes?"

"I was joking! I was trying to get under that old hag's skin!"

"We're not laughing. And if you want to live to see another day in this mortal realm, you will do everything the Dark Side commands of you and more."

"Fine! I'll do it! Just knock it off already, my chest is killing me!"

"Just remember, it was our dark magic that protected you when your own granddaughter shot you in the heart! You owe your very existence to us!"

"A lot of good that did me, I still ended up in a coma!"

"We made no promises when you made the deal. We kept our end of the bargain, you're still breathing. You're a marked man Alistair Crane, and the Dark Side has come to collect."

"My soul may belong to you for the time being, but rest assured its a temporary arrangement... Not even the forces of hell and damnation can stop Alistair Crane."

"Are you alright sir?" a doctor who just happened to doing his rounds asked.

"Didn't you hear them, doctor?" Alistair asked.

"Hear what?"

"The voices. The voices that are all around us. Listen, can't you hear them?!"

"I can't hear anything, sir. Perhaps you should sit down for a minute?"

"Out of my way, fool!" Alistair brushed past him, knocking him in one of the chairs. Alistair staggered out of the lobby.
