Oh. My. GOD!

You guys! I can't even put into words how great you are!

All the reviews made me so happy! Also I just want everyone to see this particular review I got from NovaTheHedgehog7500 because I have never laughed so hard, or agreed with a review, so much as I did this one! I have put the main part of her review here ~

'I believe I can diagnose this. *nods slowly* Yes, yes. I do believe that Rene is fangirling. This is a very common form of fangirling in which your brain just stops working. Along with your heart. And you die. Only to come back moments later with hazy recollection of the happenings of the brief fangirl attack. My advise? If you want to stop, stay out of range of any fan related anything. But why would you want to stop?!'

Can everyone just take a second to let that sink in...

Sunk in yet?... no?

Or was it just me who thought this was amazing x'D

Annnnnyyyywaaaaayyyy... big shout out to all the reviewers who have helped me with their kind words more than they realize :D and I will let the fun continue. LOVE YOU PEEPS SO MUCH XXXXXX

3rd Person POV

L watched the casket be lowered into the ground. Everyone was mourning the loss of such a bright young girl. He even saw the hint of tears in a few of the mens eyes.

He wasn't sure if he was meant to feel sad too... but then again he was never any good with emotions. So all he did was watch, slowly people began to take their leave one by one.

The sound of footsteps came from behind him. He half turned around and caught sight of Watari looking slightly concerned.

"L... it isn't like you to take breaks." The older man said softly.

The detective turned back to the show he was watching on the television.

"Rene will be fine once she has some rest, she just had a small panic attack."

The ginger groaned in her sleep causing both men to turn and face her. L felt something nag at him when he looked at the young girl. While she slept she looked so much more innocent then when she was awake.

He had done something that night that he had never done before; he had done something by instinct. When she collapsed in front of him he had automatically run forward and caught her.

It unnerved him that she had been able to cause him to move on impulse.

L studied her properly for a moment. She was still wearing a lot of makeup, a lot more than she normally would.

She had been gone for quite a few hours and by the time she got back it was almost midnight. What was she doing out for so long that made her want to look prettier?

He could only come to the conclusion that she was on a date. Maybe something on that date made her stressed enough to set off the panic attack? At this thought L found that he suddenly felt quite angry.

"L, are you okay?" Watari's calm voice spoke up.

The detective came back to reality and looked down at his clenched fist and without responding he left the room to go back to his computers, leaving the sleeping girl and the bad TV soap on behind him.

The older man gave a small smile.

Maybe she would be the person who could help L unlock the feelings he had hidden away. Although having seen her personality there was no way to predict what would happen between the two of them.

Rene woke up feeling like death.

Speaking of death...

She shot up and looked around her, she was in her room... in her bed...

Was that just a bad dream? Oh thank God!

Stretching she got out of bed and slowly made her way to the door. Slyly peeking out of the room she caught sight L's back as he sat hunched over the computer screen like usual.

Ba-dum...

No way... her heart was doing that thing again. She put a hand to her cheek and realized that her face was really hot. Did she catch a cold or something?

Groaning she left the room and made her way towards the detective before throwing herself face down onto the sofa.

She heard L turn around then get up and slowly make his way slowly towards her. Too tired to bother looking up she felt L's stare on her as there was silence in the room. That's when she felt a cold hand brush against her shoulder and she snapped her head around to see L's outreached hand.

"What exactly are you doing..." She asked bitterly.

"Why do you have a tattoo on your shoulder?" The detective inquired.

The ginger shot up turning to face the detective and keeping her back from sight. Why did he have to ask this now. The sudden movement made her dizzy and for a moment her sight went dark. Obviously the blood hadn't gone to her brain quickly enough.

She felt L's large hand hold her up straight and she didn't have the energy to fight him off; instead she let him guide her back onto the sofa. Within seconds she regained her vision but felt very weak.

"Watari told me that you had a panic attack." He said plainly.

Rene scoffed.

He looked at her sternly. "The tattoo on your back looks very similar to that gang members would have."

Feeling that nagging pull in her chest again Rene sighed. Maybe telling him would get him off her back for a bit. Maybe he would become afraid of her and finally leave her alone. God damn it, she was too exhausted to try and make up an excuse or escape from this and that annoying detective knew it.

She let out a large sigh "Fine... I will tell you."

The whole thing had started when she was only 11. After being orphaned she lived on the streets of London, stealing, lying and keeping to the shadows. It was hard but she took it day by day, she was going to survive no matter what. That was the only thing that kept her going during the freezing winter nights.

After almost a year she came across something she was never meant to see.

A murder. Plain and simple murder.

She was still a child and couldn't help but let out a horrified squeal as the corps dropped to the floor. The men caught sight of her but she had already begun running - she ran as far and fast as she could.

They chased her for quite a while but she was able to slip away, cutting through corners and small spaces that they didn't even know existed. For a few weeks it worked but eventually she was caught, she knew she couldn't run forever. But instead of being killed like the other man, they brought her to their base and was thrown in the middle of a room with four men. Three of them watched and discussed what do do with her. Non of which seemed beneficial on her part.

"She managed to evade us for weeks. If any of the others found out of this we would be the laughing stock of the street." One large man seethed.

"As far as our informative's have shown she has not told the police." A smaller guy pointed out.

"So girl, speak up, how did you avoid us for so long."

Rene slowly looked up at the man of the center of the room and her eye fell upon the leader of the gang sitting in front of her, one day she would come to know him only as 'The Boss'.

"I... know these streets like the back of my hand. I know every short cut and where every security camera is in the city." The larger man let out a sarcastic laugh. It was clear that he just wanted to kill her and get this over with.

"She's right." One of the youngest men in the room spoke up, he was sitting in the corner of the room and had been silently watching her the entire time. "Trying to get her she managed to find her way around and avoid almost all of the cameras, that's why it took so long to catch her."

The Boss hummed to himself.

"Where is your family girl."

The silence they got as a response did not please The Boss.

"SPEAK WHEN YOU ARE SPOKEN TO CHILD." He bellowed.

"They are dead." She said as calmly as she could.

The younger man stood up and walked over to her, "I believe she could prove very useful in our plans, we need someone who can make quick choices on routes to take. Non of us here know the city like she seems to."

This shocked her. She had never intended to join a gang, she had no intention of dying here but she had mentally prepared herself for death already.

"Bos-"

The larger man was quickly silenced by The Boss with a flick of his hand.

"I trust your judgment Hard-Drive and you are my right hand man, however she is too dangerous for our group. We haven't been around for as long as the other gangs and one slip up could cause our whole operation to go up in smoke... If we keep this girl... then you take full responsibility for her." The other two in the room watched The Boss shocked that he had actually spared a life. "Anything, and I mean ANYTHING happens that can be linked back to her then you will get a chest full of lead, understand?"

"Of course Boss."

The room was quiet as The Boss stood and made his way to the door.

"Boss are you sure about this." The smaller man spoke up.

"Are you... doubting me." He growled.

The two men coward like stray dogs and followed the leader out, leaving the girl and Hard-Drive alone.

L's POV

"I spent the next two years with him and we became like brother and sister, he was an expert hacker and taught me everything he knew. I helped them figure out routes to take and with me the gang grew and became one of the biggest in England. I was the secret weapon that only the four of them knew about." She finished.

I watched her, taking in all of this new information. It explained quite a bit about her, living in such a hostile environment. However it was painfully obvious that she was not revealing everything.

For now it would do. There was no use pushing someone like her into a corner, he had learnt that much.

I walked over to my computer and contacted Watari.

"Watari, Rene may have her sweets again." I said into the microphone.

"Of course Ryuzaki."

Looking over at Rene I realized she was watching me with a small, sad, smile on her lips. Her eyes were watery but she fought back the tears with a dry laugh.

"L... thanks." She smiled a genuine smile. " Thanks for not making a fuss."

I felt my heart beat louder in my chest but didn't let it show. She did look her best when she smiled. Giving her a small nod I went back to my computer and worked as I heard her walk back to her room.

For some reason I couldn't concentrate on work but instead found my mind drifting back to what she had told me.

...

Maybe I need more strawberries.
