This is, pretty much, one of those chapters that is an extra before the big important part, like how before the current arc in Black Butler, is the shopping chapter.

Spending the Night in the Grave

As soon as we got back to the manor, I ate a nice breakfast, then I went upstairs to rest. After all that trouble, deserve to earn some rest.

I wasn't surprise that the tea cart was still there when I first got here, and it does help show where my bedroom is.

When I lay on the bed, I totally forgot how comfy and soft the bed was, like laying on a marshmallow cloud. I yawned, got in the covers, and fell asleep.

Finally, for once, no dreams about death and no stranger dancing with me. Just a simple good night rest...it could mean that I'm started to loose fear, piece by piece.

It did gave me time to think about a few things...There are so much to tell Sebastian while he was a doll with Grell.

The fate, the wings, the broken spell, turning into a cat, fighting Undertaker...I still felt really bad for that guy for that night...

I mean, he's crazy, but I don't think he's that crazy...I should repay him for everything, but what will do?

As I think, I remembered when we met and last night...I remembered that he was all alone with no one to spend time with...It's no wonder he was thrilled and loopy when he saw me...

I know what I should do to repay him...But I need Sebastian's permission first, even though I just got back from that messed up doll house.

So after resting for almost 2 hours, I got up and search for Sebastian.

When I found him, surrounded by different kinds of felines, I walked over to him, "Uh...Hey Sebastian?"

He turned to me as he feeds one of them a bowl of milk, "Hm? I see that you're feeling better after that rest."

"Yes," I nodded, "But I need a favor, just for tonight...I want to spend the night at Undertaker's parlor."

He froze as he fed another cat, then slowly turned to me again, "Madison...You just got home...Why on earth you are going there?"

I couldn't help if it was because I need more training...or does he really miss me...I sigh and replied, "Well, without him, I would have become a puppet's bride for all of eternity...Please, Sebastian, I want to repay him by going there!"

He sigh as he looked down, "I do suppose it was true...But just because he helped you..."

I smiled, speaking, "Thank you Sebastian!"

So during lunch, I told Sebastian every single detail while he and Grell were miniature dolls, and I never seen Sebastian's eyes this wide.

"You gained the Diversity wings?" He asked.

I nodded and he continued, "Madison, those wings were one of the rarest kinds a demon used...And I never seen a half demon with a pair..." He then smirked and finish off his quote, "Well, either way, you're half way close to complete your training. We just need to work on a few things, such as transformations, flying with those wings, and many others."

I gulped that it could take a long time for me, but for the transformation part, after last night, I was too scared to use it again since it hurts during the process.

"Speaking of Transformations," Sebastian sigh, "It's just a shame I missed you becoming a kitten...I would have love to see that..."

I looked away, blushing, "I'm not sure if I like to talk about it..."

Later in the afternoon, I gathered some clothes and items, picked up a card Undertaker gave me that I still have, saying 'Good-bye' to Sebastian, then head to the funeral parlor.

After a few turns, bridges, and into a very dark alley that not even the sun can touch it, I finally made it to the building.

I took a deep breath, then knock on the door, hearing Undertaker's reply, "Ah~! It's open~! Come in, Come Come~!"

With that, I opened the door, walking inside the dark coffin room with two rows of candles glowing on the floor and at the end of it was a group of bones and small random bottles.

I tilt my head as I walked to it, but then I heard his creaky laughter again, speaking, "Ah~! Hello Madison~!"

I froze when I heard something rolling right behind me. I looked back, seeing a skull rolling towards me!

I gasped, tip-toed aside quickly, and watch it roll into the bones and small bottles, collapsing them one by one...just like bowling...

"Strike~!"

I looked behind me, seeing Undertaker in a bowling position with his pointer and pinky out.

I sigh, knowing that it was bowling...

"Hey Undertaker, you do know they created bowling alleys back at home." I spoke as I put my suit case of my clothes gently aside from a nearby coffin.

Undertaker walked over and asked, "So, What are you doing here today?"

"Well," I replied, "I am still sorry for yelling at you last night and I want to say 'Thank you for helping me,'...and I thought to repay you for helping me out, I thought I should spend the night here...so you won't be lonely..."

He paused for a minute or two...then, in a weird reaction, he pulled me to his chest, holding me into a hug. My face was in his chest, but I can feel his long hair tickling me.

I heard him spoke, "...Thank you."

I looked up at him, then I looked down, manage to notice the lockets he have, the one in front has a number 8 on it with green leaves and for what was written in the bottom center was named 'Claudia P.'

I looked confused until he let go of me, speaking to me, "Come, let's have some tea and I'll show you where you'll sleep."

"A-Alright." I replied as I walked to a coffin, sitting there as I watched him make the tea. I looked down, thinking that maybe I should ask him about this Claudia girl later...

I saw him give me the tea, I took it and took a sip. It taste the same as last time, which makes me happy to get used to.

I looked back at the 'bowling alley,' then back at Undertaker who is drinking his tea, then I spoke, "So...is this what you mostly do?"

He looked at me, then spoke, "Sometimes, I also play with corpses and skeletons, practice some magic, and what is rare and what I want to do is to have people come over to be fitted in a coffin."

I looked down at my beaker of tea, then look back up at him, "You don't like being alone, do you?"

He hesitated for a few moments, then he looked down, speaking, "I...I thought I like it to be alone, especially after hiding from the reapers during retirement...but then I met someone who was long gone..."

That's when it hits me about Claudia, could it mean that he was...in love with a girl? But didn't he loves Grell too?

"You mean Claudia?" I asked.

He shot back up, speaking, "How did you know that?"

"It's on your locket." I spoke as I pointed.

He looked away, speaking with a sigh, "Yes...Claudia Phantomhive...a beautiful and smart woman...I know there is someone else I am having a crush over now...but even so, Grell's too close to end up like Claudia..."

He looked at me, then I nodded to motion that I was listening, then he continued, "I...can't say how she died, but when I tried to revive her, the society thought I was a traitor, so they scarred me and kept me in prison for fifteen years...I escaped when I started losing my own mind, but all I kept thinking about is her...

I practiced magic afterwords, but that's when a demon came in...your assassin...he thought I'd be the right person to explain his fate, so, after I look into the crystal ball...I told him...that he'll be killed...killed by you...so he killed your family to end your family tree..."

I gasped with my eyes widen about what he said. That's why the assassin killed my family...the monster in my fate was a demon...

He continued again, "And you remembered everything I told you last night about your fate...I still felt guilty about it, Madison...But I was happy that you came in for my help...I'm not lonely anymore...I hope you see what I mean..."

"I think I do, Undertaker," I replied, "I mean...I felt the same thing with the fears circling around me...I always have them in my dreams and I always ended up dead...But now...I'm not afraid anymore...And I want to thank you for it..."

I held out my hand to him with a smile, speaking, "Friends?"

He stared, smiled, then held my hand, shaking it, "Friends."

After we let our hands go, Undertaker leaned to me, asking, "But please, tell me about these nightmares, I am interested to hear~!"

I sigh and told him almost all the dreams I remembered, including the one as my fate started, and I told him the scariest one yet, "I was in a dark forest, surrounded by trees that looked like people, bowing down to me...in a crazy manner...I thought I'll be lost there until I found an orphanage in the meadows.

When I entered the building, there was no one here, especially downstairs...that is until in the back room of the basement, I saw a group of kids and a teacher looking at me.

They all smiled and the teacher wants me to play a game...They didn't told me what, but I accept, and allowed me to sit at a chair. As I sat there, the children and teacher walked around me in a circle, joining hands...or when I saw one without an arm...I thought it's a fun game, but then they started to jumpscare me, causing me to scream...They kept playing it with me, getting more scarier, and I escaped...but a little girl followed me...then I woke up when she killed me with a hatchet..."

I looked at Undertaker...who started laughing like a runaway earthquake. He fell off the chair, laughing while kicking his legs.

I looked down at him in an awkward look, "How...is that funny?"

"It's *wheeze* funny to imagine *wheeze* your reaction! *wheeze*" He replied while gasping for air.

I glared, and spoke, "Well, now, at least, I'm not afraid of them anymore...especially after all I went through..."

He grinned as he stood up, "That is wonderful, deary~!"

I sigh, "Yeah...It pretty much is..."

For a few hours, we did spend some time with different kinds of magic, which was pretty cool.

Shrinking, animal transformation, gender switching, even body switching...the body switching was the craziest part, since from looking at Undertaker and myself, I'm shorter and, oddly that it's not from his bangs, I'm not blind...

When I was in his body, I ended up seeing how fuzzy and dim his vision was, I walked around with my hands up, speaking in his voice, "Oh dear god! I can't see a blasted thing!"

I ended up bumping into coffins, causing Undertaker to laugh in my voice...I never knew my laugh can sound this wicked...then again, Undertaker was using it.

I sigh and spoke, "You know, you're laughing at your own self, right?"

"But the way you act in my look is just a hoot!" He replied.

It was even hard to walk in his feet as well, since I ended up stumbling left, right, and forward. I was close to crying when I ended up twisting my...or his knee a little by accident.

But it's not the only thing that's pretty much painful, I do believe when it comes to his crazy grin for almost everyday, he pretty much doesn't care if his face hurts when he relaxes his lips.

I can still hear him laugh as he spoke, "Don't hurt my body, mouse~!"

I glared, then I started to hear my...or his stomach growling, "Geez...I'm getting hungry..."

I can hear him chuckle in my voice, "Well, well~! So am I~! Let's turn back and have some dinner~!"

After we switched back, he allow me to follow him to the kitchen, which was, oddly compared to his coffin room, clean and decorated nicely, like I came from the wrong building...

I watched him go into the cabinets, and picked up a jar that contain bone shaped cookies...

Are they for an appetizer...or what?

I walked to a fridge nearby, inside was...nothing...just empty...

I saw him held up the cookies, speaking, "Dinner is served~!"

I looked at him and spoke, "Are cookies your everyday meal?"

He grinned as he took a bite of one, "They are yummy, aren't they?"

I narrowed my eyes a little, almos tlike a 'really' look...Luckily, Sebastian gave me some money in case of an emergency...but I believe right now this is an emergency...

I grabbed his arm, pulling him out of the kitchen and to the door, "Ok, we're either going to a market, or going out to eat."

"Eh? What's wrong with cookies?" He asked as he was sliding from my pull.

"I love cookies, but you need meat to grow muscles, you're skinned to the bone for goodness sake!" I replied.

I ended up taking him to a nearby McDonalds, and I ordered both a quarter-pounder with fries and two sodas while Undertaker just sat in a booth, giving people the creepy looks that cause them to scoot away from him.

It actually felt weird having dinner with a reaper, especially a crazy one...I mean, it's not like a date nor anything...after all, my heart's getting closer to join Sebastian's hands...

After I brought the food over, I give him his and started teaching about what we're having.

"This is known as a burger. There are different kinds for flavors, toppings, even how many you want. Be careful that it's best to eat once in a while, not everyday." I spoke.

"I see," He nodded as he picked up a french fry, "But what about the warm, golden sticks?"

I snickered and replied, "Those are french fries, they are the result when a potato is cut and fried. Same kind of thing about the burgers, just once in a while or so."

I then continued when he was asking about the drink, "What I pour in the drinks are sodas. There are many unique flavors all carbonated. The kind I used is just Coca-Cola."

He stared at them, and spoke, "I see now..."

I smiled then I started eating my meal.

I noticed he just kept staring at his food, I looked at him and spoke, "Something the matter?"

"I...I never tried something like this before..." He spoke quietly, "I never eat meat ever since I retired..."

I looked down, then I opened the package that contain his burger then spoke, "Well, it's a great time to give it a try!"

With that, when he was about to open his mouth for a question, I stuffed it into his mouth until my fingernails feel his teeth, then I watched him chew.

I leaned a little to know what he thinks...then in a few seconds, he kept munching down the burger like a dog.

Just watching him like that makes me giggle and I continued eating my meal.

After dinner, I thought of taking him to an ice cream parlor for a treat; so I took him there and bought him mint chocolate chip, and for me, chocolate chip cookie dough.

Just watching him eat his ice cream makes me wish that Crystal and/or Sebastian came here to join the fun...but for now, I'm just glad that I gave Undertaker the reason to smile about.

Just as we were about to head back, I started to yawn deeply, causing Undertaker to smile and spoke, "Awww, the little rabbit is sleepy~!"

I looked at him and asked, "Is there a room or a bed that I could sleep in?"

He laughed loudly and replied, "You're too cute~! I don't have a bed, just these little coffins are a perfect kind of beds here~! Allow me to check your height and length~!"

I narrowed my eyes as he grab a tape measure, then I spoke to myself, "Of course..."

After checking my height and length, he smiled, and spoke, "Perfect~! Exactly what I need~!"

I tilted my head, "What do you mean?"

I saw him walked to another room, and carried an ebony colored coffin and set it close to a big coffin...on the lid, it spelled my name...

My eyes widen as I noticed, then I looked at him, "You have got to be kidding me..."

He giggled and shrugged, "Sorry Miss~! I'll allow you to go into another room to change into your pjs~! I'll change into mine as well~! No peeking~!"

With that, he left to one room, then I walked into another with my bag, changing into my white nightgown, then came back to the coffin.

I took a deep breath and open the lid, revealing a white coffin bed, complete with a mattress, a pillow, and a dark red quilt.

I lay one of my favorite stuff animals on the coffin and saw Undertaker came back...with pink bunny pajamas, that caused me to laugh much like his!

He grinned and poke my cheek, speaking, "You laughed! That's my job~!"

I snickered and spoke, "Well, Can I, at least, say 'Nice pajamas, Undertaker?!'"

He grinned as he got into a coffin close to mine, speaking, "I'll get you for that, Madison~!"

After he yawned, he lay down and spoke as he close the coffin with a lid, "Good night, Madison~!"

I yawn and got in the coffin, not closing the lid, and replied, "Good night, Undertaker."

With that, I hugged my stuff animal, snuggled in the soft, comfy coffin, then fell asleep into my dreamland...
