"Why were we invited here?" Dylan annoyedly asked Phoenix once they arrived at the Halliwell home. She talked her friend into tagging along. She heard Leo wanted a word with them.

Phoenix frowned. He pointed to the staircase. "Leo is Leo. Who knows?"

"Rather pointless, don't you think?" Colette yawned, marching into the home. She started for the attic.

Phoenix was uneasy. He had to speak to Dylan before the truth came to her as a shock. "Hey, Dyl? I need to confess something to you."

Dylan held up a hand to cut him off. She wasn't going to hear it. "Save it, Nix. The word is spinning around like knives, cutting the tension in the air. See ya up there!"

Phoenix motionlessly moved his mouth. He scurried after the strawberry blonde, "Dylan, you don't understand!"

Dylan shook her loose ponytail, rolling her eyes. She reached for the attic door, opening it to reveal a shock. Her eyes glazed over with tears, believing a ghost stood right in her view. "Chase?"

The pain cracking her tone took Colette, Leo, and Chase himself off their gaurds.

Chase furrowed his eyebrows, glancing curiously to Phoenix. "Dylan...?" He skeptically spoke, lifting an eyebrow.

Phoenix stood next to Leo who was awaiting the four.

Leo cleared his throat. "Celebrate your family reunion later. I am sending you four on a mission."

Dylan couldn't keep her eyes from her twim brother. She was wondering how he survived his death or if he did. She was aware that it could also be a hoax on his end from whoever was allowing it to slide.

"What kind of mission?" Phoenix proposed, raising an eyebrow at his uncle.

"You're going undercover to seek information, and certain people. It will help to learn more on your powers plus your family backgrounds." Leo softly informed like he was ripping a bandaid off a wound.

"Leo, where are you sending us? Cut the cryptic crap!" Dylan boomed, wanting to escape her twin as fast as possible.

Everyone else flinched.

"You'll be sent to a school...of sorts. This school is far from magic school. It isn't even located on earth." Leo sighed, rubbing his neck.

"Wait, do you mean we're being sent to a school in the underworld?" Colette asked, tapping her fingers furiously on her leg. She was already sick of being around the do gooder.

Leo shook his head. He ran his sausagelike fingers through his light hair, "You'll be attending a school up in the clouds."

"How is a magic school in the clouds going undercover? And, why do I have to do this?" Chase finally spoke with cold anger in his tone. He was angry at his sister, their mother, and his dead girlfriend.

"It's one shaped for whitelighters plus future whitelighters alike. You have to do this, because as far as I'm concerned you saved Phoenix from becoming evil. Not to mention, you helped to stop him from destroying the Charmed Ones, well, his aunts." Leo reminded, watching Chase lighten up at hearing Phoenix's name.

Chase looked to the boy, hiding a cheshire smile beneath his dark bangs.

Dylan took in the scene before her. She saw the way Chase was eyeing the Halliwell boy, breaking her heart. No one ever did mention this to her. She watched how Phoenix wore a transparent smirk, fully aware her twin was admiring him without having to lock eyes.

"We aren't fit to be whitelighters!" Dylan hissed, earning a baffled look from Leo.

Leo lightly chuckled. "The school is suppose to be transitioning of sorts. You'll have to see for yourself. Will you do this for the future Charmed Ones?"

Dylan furrowed her eyebrows. She could not wrap her head around the statement he just spoke. "Leo...?"

"We'll do it! Anything to keep my mind from Cole. My poor love." Colette said with an inch of her heart breaking some more.

Phoenix narrowed his eyes at the blonde female. "Who cares what happened to Cole?"

Colette growled, grabbing the boy angrily by the collar. Her hands were lit with fire, nearly scorching the boy. "I care!"

"But, do you love him?" Phoenix challenged. He flung her backwards, using his telekinetic power.

Colette crash landed on the floor. "Think I broke a rib."

Dylan saw Colette was right about needing to keep her mind from Cole. So, she agreed to Leo's absurd mission. Her eyes locked with her no longer spiteful twin, "I will talk with you when it's time to get the show on the road."

Chase nonchalantly smiled. "Okay. I'll explain everything to you when we speak."

Dylan grunted, helping Colette to her feet. She sighed, "Sorry about her, Nix. His absence has been harsh on her."

Phoenix held no bitter feelings toward her, but he could tell something was off in the atmosphere. Would it always be that way?

No matter how I write the end to book one it feels like a cliffhanger to me. Anyway, what're your thoughts? What will happen in book two, and what is the off feeling Phoenix has?
