A/N:
Thanks for the reviews.
Lizardmomma: Lol, thanks for catching that. Damn spell check sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. I will update the chapter with the fix soon.
Chapter 21
King of the Trolls
They were all back and the first thing they noticed was the manner that looked quite tiny amongst the other large homes, but it was their home well at least a replica. Piper ran to her sons who also ran to her with Leo right next to her. Wyatt and Chris smiled as their mother picked up their smaller self's and cradled them on her hips. Leo kissed both boys as Penny came out to greet them.
"My darlings," she said and extended her hands.
"Hi grams, your work?" Phoebe asks as she hugged her.
"Yeah I thought you guys deserved it, you know I made the dollhouse right," Penny replied as someone came out of the group, someone she has not seen in a very long time. "Prue," the words escaped almost like a breath as Patty put her hand to her chest.
"Hi grams, mom," she said not sure if she was going to get yelled at or hugged. Luckily they decided to hug her.
"I don't understand they said you became a Virtues?" Penny asks.
"I did after I met with you when I died and after somewhat accepting it, they gave me a choice so I became a Virtues because Kevin told me about Melinda and that she might need some guidance," Prue replied.
"Well I'm glad they keep us in the loop," Patty said as she put both hands on her oldest daughter's face. "Did you fall from grace to be with them?"
"She was Enait and the eggs gave her away," Piper said as she put the boys down as she did not want to have Prue go into right now.
"Mommy did you meet a lot of people?" Little Chris asks.
"Yes and I will tell you all about it at dinner ok," Piper replied as the boys went off to play in the center of the village with some of the other children of the clan.
"Oh did she cut her eggs into little squares?" Patty asks.
"So I have one quirk, let it go," Prue replied and smiled.
"Where are the armies we were promised?" Leo asks noticing the lack of the other clans.
"Down in the Valley," Yerran said as he stepped out of the main building.
"Yerran your tongue must give you wings, how did you arrive so quickly?" Mel asks as she never trusted the silver tongue.
"Magic and it may be difficult to fly with such small wings," he replied as Rigar greeted his daughter along with Lila.
"Astra glad to see you well," he said and put his large hands on her small shoulders.
"Thanks father," she said and put her small hands on his forearms.
Leo and Henry walked over to where they could see the Valley just between the mountains. There were houses set up instead of tents and the various fires gave light to the entire Valley. Henry and Leo looked at each other and smiled as numbers was always important in battle.
"Wyatt it seems your younger self thought it appropriate to make houses for the soldiers," Yerran said.
"Oh that was nice of me," he said as Chris rolled his eyes.
"Yes It was very kind and fortunately your brother helped and filled the homes was Toys. It's not a major problem just that the generals of each clan are having issues using Tinker toys as a way of mapping out the battle," Yerran said and Chris could not help but laugh a little.
"We will take care of it," Wyatt said and followed Yerran to a path that led to the Valley.
"Where are they going?" Piper asks as she saw her two sons disappear over the hill.
"Probably to talk to the clans," Coop replied.
"Leo could you go with them, because -"
"I know we got it," Leo said and Henry along with Coop went down the path.
"I say we go to our house and relax," Paige said and they followed her to the replicated manner. They opened the doors and it smelled exactly like the original. Everything was duplicated to perfection even the cracks and leftover smudge marks that they could never remove from vanquishing demons.
"Except you," Phoebe said as she slammed the door in Cole's face. He stood for a moment and his jaw tightened as he walked away to go to his other home the villagers gave him earlier. He stepped in and made sure all the curtains were closed as with a wave of his hand the capsule Melinda was held in became visible.
"Now let's see what you could really do," he said and pulled out some old books from a drawer. Most of them written in Latin or even older language. Some bear the symbols of the different clans as he ran his hand over the old ink.
Piper sat down on the comfy couch and if she closed her eyes she could swear she was in San Francisco and everything was fine. The others did the same as Prue could not help but check out her old room.
Melinda went looking for Jack and found him standing near the gazebo that was high above the village. He was looking at pictures of their daughter. A small droplets of salty water fell and landed on the corner of a Polaroid.
"You always were low-tech," Mel said as she wiped the tear off with her finger and then had to look away from it.
"I'm sorry, I'm the one who said to bring her here. I said it would be safe," he said and put the photograph back in his pocket.
"Jack she was safe, we were betrayed," Mel said as he looked into her eyes. She has seen more pain then anyone that he has ever known in the eyes showed it. They were mixture with sorrow and anger, forced to be open, forced to show some kind of life. He tried to recall what they once looked like before the madness and for the life of him he could not.
"We were the only ones who knew, how?"
"I don't know but one day I will find out who," she replied.
"You think we have enough?" he asks while looking down into the valley.
"If we lose then no," she replied in her normal getting to the point mode." Jack I am more concerned that an elder got here and why did they not attack while we were gone?"
"Maybe they knew you could get back quickly," he replied.
"Or maybe the elder has always been here," she said.
Prue was sitting on her old bed that was technically now Piper and Leo's room. Piper came in and sat next to her.
"We haven't had time to talk," Piper said.
"Honey I haven't had time to go to the bathroom," Prue said and they both chuckled a bit as apparently they both needed the humor.
"Did you have anything happen when we dealt with the Erotes?" Piper asks.
"It's not important, Piper these are deep desires something that crosses your mind once. The Erotes exploit it and make it bigger than what it really is," Prue replied.
"Why do they still hurt?" Piper asks as she could not get out what Mel said to her.
"Because words can sometimes hurt worse than a dagger," Prue replied.
"Spoken like a true Virtues," Piper said and took in a deep breath.
"Right now I am your sister and we have a lot of catching up to do," Prue said and put her hand on Piper's.
"Am I interrupting?" Paige asks nervously.
"Nope I have been wanting to talk to you," Prue replied and Paige sat next to her on the bed.
"I'm not in trouble am I?" Paige asks.
"No, I just wanted to thank you and say how proud I am of you. You took to being a witch better than any of us and you saved my sisters," Prue said as she began to tear up.
"Thank you I needed to hear that," Paige said and they embraced for the first time. Piper could feel her heart grow as her baby sister finally got to meet her oldest. Phoebe stood outside the room as the words from Piper continue to play out like a cheesy song she could not get rid of. She wanted to go in but what if Prue blamed her as well.
"Mom," Prue said from the hallway. Phoebe wiped her face before facing her daughter.
"Yeah baby," Phoebe said as she finally turned around.
"You ok?"
"Yeah its just been a long day," Phoebe replied and put her arm around her.
"It looks like grams made an extension you know for us kids," Prudence said.
"Kids right," Phoebe said as she looked at her 27-year-old daughter.
"You know what I mean. Um tomorrow I think we should talk about using your empath power."
"That's odd you teaching me."
"Well I've had a little longer experience," Prudence said.
"That would be nice," Phoebe said and they went downstairs.
Wyatt and the others made it to the main house where the generals of each clan were going over battle plans. On the outside the houses looked normal but each were different. On the inside is where things changed as the furniture was quite colorful they were even some beanbags. Toy trucks, a TV with a PlayStation everything a little boy could want or girl as Chris made sure to make things for his sister.
"Oh boy," Wyatt whispered as he tried not to laugh while the generals were not amused.
"I'm hoping you're coming to fix the problem as drinking my wine from a sippy cup is not becoming of any general," The general of The Deadly Edith clan said.
"Yes and sorry," Wyatt said and closed his eyes. The interior began to change and the beanbags were replaced with a very ornate and looked like very expensive chairs. The toys disappeared along with the TV. Everything was now made for adults and useful in planning a battle. The small plastic table was now replaced with something that belonged in King Louise collection. The sippy cups were replaced with ornate goblets.
"You watch way too much history Channel," Chris said.
"That will suffice you are excused," the man said as the others remained quiet.
"You know I know a few things about planning a battle we both do including my father," Wyatt said as his tolerance for being talk to like a child was now beyond paper-thin.
"Really tell me the battles you have won," the general for the Erotes spoke.
"Well, for starters we pretty much decimated the underworld, destroy the source on countless occasions, save the world on a weekly freaking basis," Wyatt replied.
"Oh and the war for Olympus," Chris added and Leo smiled proudly.
Unfortunately the men were not impressed as they began to smirk.
"We saved your kind over and over again," Wyatt added.
"Oh the magical community, our exiles. Little tiny fairies, ugly little trolls, ridiculous looking leprechauns wearing the cheapest cloth I have ever seen and of course the goblins that were fairly fierce," the man said and stood up from his chair. It was then that Wyatt got a good look at the man who mocked him. He was missing one arm and the rest of his body seemed scarred. He then began to look around and notice that all the men and women have seen their share of battle. "Tell me Awray do you think goblins are well presented and their world," he asks and the leader of the Whirlwinds stepped out of the shadows.
"No not even close," she replied and sat down while folding her legs one over top the other. She sat perfectly straight.
"Your a goblin?" Leo asks as he looked at the beautiful woman but she too had a scar on her arm but it did not change the power she gave off.
"Yes, you see when we leave this world we change and become what you can except and I find it very degrading but that is not your fault entirely," she replied.
"We should let him stay the battle of Olympus is even heard of in our world," Naria added as she walked in and heard the conversation from outside.
"Monarch of Constellations it's good to have you," Awray said as they seemed like old friends.
"It's good to be here," Naria said and bowed slightly to signify respect.
"Fine you can stay but you better be right and it will be tested trust is earned and -."
"I know blood," Chris said and took a dagger off the table and made a slice on his forearm deep enough to bleed and leave a mark. Even though he can heal himself he did not as Wyatt, Coop and Leo did the same. The man nodded in approval and they began to plan.
"They call me Orin Rythen Mathar, but you can call me sir," he said and Wyatt nodded.
Nighttime was beginning to fall over the land like a deep shadow of the tallest mountain that stretched its peaks across the world. The children were now in the house as dinner was finished and the dishes cleaned. The inhabitants of the village began the nighttime routine, but this time it would be interrupted as a man stood in the center of the village and looked frightened.
"I come bearing a message a warning," he yelled and all the villagers including the charmed ones were now standing outside.
"A teachtaire," Mel said.
"Well get on with it," Riger said.
"You don't have to kill me," the man said.
"Then the saying would lose all meaning," Lila replied.
"Give up the boy and this place will be spared," he said and Mel could tell he was reaching for something in his pocket before anyone could react a man on a horse came out of the darkness. The teachtaire turned to only be faced with a large round metal ball attached to a sturdy wooden handle. He went flying backwards as the sound of metal hitting flesh and bone made everyone cringe. Mel immediately went to the fallen man and search his pockets and found something that sent a shiver up her spine. It was something she created and something she almost used. "Max," she said through her teeth as the other man on the horse now became visible because of the light from the houses. Mel teleported a sword to herself and without one moment of hesitation, she ran the sharp blade through the teachtaire heart.
"To the point as usual," the man said on the horse and Mel smiled.
"Roland I knew you would not miss a fight," Mel said as he got off his horse. He had a dark mustache and beard that was well maintained. There was a design shaved into his beard on both sides. His eyes were a gold color in the center. His clothing seemed mismatched but in some weird way all went together mostly warm colors of brown gold with dark reds. His hair was short with a touch of gray on the sides that blended into the blackness.
"Trolls miss a war you have been gone too long and have grown much. You were this high when I saw you last," he said and put his hand just above his waist as he was a few inches taller than her.
"Yes the inquisitive one you called me," she said and hugged him. Leo felt a quick spurt of jealousy as she has not shown that kind of affection towards him or even talk to him.
"Sometimes the annoying one," he said and smiled.
"Is it just you?" she asks.
"Does it need to be more?" he asks with a cockiness in his voice. "Of course there is more but only because they insist," he replied.
"Who the hell is he?" Phoebe asks.
"King of the Trolls and are dam good fighters," Riger replied.
"He is a troll?" Piper asks as the last encounter they had with one was something right out of the storybooks for children.
"Welcome to our world and you're beginning," Lila replied.
On a mountain miles away Max stood awaiting some kind of explosion, but when nothing happened he assumed they got the message and smiled as he was glad that Melinda was now aware of his presence.
To be continued...
