Chapter 21

Kagome sat at the table looking around wondering who was texting her. She didn't recognize the number but then again with her being drunk she was lucky that she was sober enough to know that she was also texting Sesshomaru. She looked back to her phone and started texting back even though her better judgement thought about just ignoring the creepy text.

-Who is this? I'm sorry but I lost all my contacts a couple weeks ago so I don't recognize the number at the moment. Kagome-

She hit send and watched it go through and clicked out of the unknown persons number. Right before she went to lock her phone it buzzed. She smiled immediately when she saw Sesshomaru's name light up.

-That's great to hear. What time is good for you? And where should I pick you up? Sesshomaru-

In the middle of reading Sesshomaru's text she got different text, no doubt from the unknown number but she replied to the current text she was on. After sending her response she looked up to see if she could find her friends. She spotted Inuyasha flirting with a girl at the bar, she turned in her seat and spotted Sango and Miroku talking and dancing halfheartedly. Sango must have known that Kagome was looking at her because she looked over and made eye contact for a few seconds. Kagome smiled at her friend and looked down at her phone and opened the new text.

-I'm Jake from state farm. But I'm offended that you dont know who I am. Come on Kags, think. Who am I?-

Kagome just stared at her phone trying to think of who this person is but noone came to mind.

"What's wrong Kagome?" Sango asked making Kagome jump because she didn't see her coming back to the table.

"It's nothing." Kagome tried to sound convincing but it wasn't working with Sango.

"Kagome we've been friends since we were three. I can always tell when something is troubling you. So try again." Sango said with a serious tone.

"Fine, since I can't get anything past you. While I was texting Sesshomaru I got another text but I don't know the number. Because as you know I lost all my contacts, you know what I'll just show you." Kagome confessed then leaned over showing Sango the messages. "At first I thought it might have been my dad but I don't think it's him."

Sango looked at Kagome's phone and read the through the messages then looked at her friend like she was blonde or something.

"Are you serious right now Kagome?" She asked.

"What?" Kagome retorted.

"Do you seriously not know who this is? Other than myself who has ever called you Kags?" Sango questioned as she stares at her friend waiting for it to click. Sango raised her hand and did a count down, three... two... one...

"OH MY GOODNESS. REALLY! CAN IT REALLY BE HIM?" Kagome shouted gaining everyone's attention that was around them.

"Text and find out but I'm pretty sure it's him." Sango chuckled as she handed back her phone.

Kagome watched as Sango turned and walked to the bar where Miroku stood talking to Inuyasha. Her attention went back to her phone with excitement hoping it was her old friend.

-Bank, is this you? Kagome-

Kagome only had to wait a few minutes until her phone vibrated in her hands.

-Ding Ding Ding. You're still as smart as ever. Bankotsu-

Kagome squealed, it was really Bankotsu. She hasn't spoke to him since they graduated. He never explained why he left, hell he didn't even mention that he was going to be leaving.

-Not really, it took Sango pointing it out that you called me Kags. Wait, you said you could see me then where are you? Kagome-

"Look behind you" Kagome heard a familiar voice say. She got up and slowly turned around and practically screamed and dove into Bankotsu's arms and hugged him like her life depended on it.

"Oh my goodness Bank. I can't believe it's you. I missed you. Where have you been? I haven't heard from you since we graduated. You never said anything." Kagome rambled.

"Whoa there Kags, calm down. I'm sorry I never contacted you all this time. I just thought since I never said anything that you would be angry with me. But I needed to move and the reason is for another time. But right now I'm actually working." Bankotsu said with a smile.

"Wait you work here?" Kagome asked.

"Indeed he does. I'm taking it you two know each other?" Sesshomaru suddenly appeared out of nowhere.

"Oh my geeze. You scared the shit out of me. And yes we do know each other, since we were little actually." Kagome spoke quickly not noticing Sesshomaru smirking.

"Is that so? Well I don't mean to be the bad guy here but Bankotsu you have a job to do." Sesshomaru said.

"Yes Sir. I'll report to you when my shift ends. And I'll see and talk to you later Kags." Bankotsu said and gave Kagome a quick hug before leaving.

"See you around Bank." Kagome spoke into the hug and watched him leave. "Wow, it's been ages since I've seen him." She said softly.

"I've known him for a few years, at least since college. After we both graduated I opened this club and gave him a job here." Sesshomaru informed her. Kagome took in the information he just shared with her and she looked up at him and smiled.

"Well thank you for taking care of my friend. Not that I'm complaining but what brings you here?" She asked.

"Well I do work and own this club." He joked.

"You know what I mean." She retorted as she lightly hit his arm which made him chuckle and that in turn made her heart skip.

"I was doing my rounds and I seen one of my guards talking to someone and I wanted to make sure nothing was wrong then as I got closer I noticed it was you." He explained. He was about to tell her about his text but he didn't need to as he watched her lift her phone.

"Oh geeze, you texted, I'm so sorry. I got so distracted that I didn't notice." She apologized then read the message.

-7:30-8:00 sounds good to me. I'll make the reservations. Sesshomaru-

"Well I'm glad you approve of the time. So mister club owner where are you planning on taking me, just so I know how to dress." Kagome said sweetly.

"Well that is going to be a surprise but I would have to say semi formal would do." He answered.

Kagome stuck her bottom lip out and pouted as she spoke. "But that's not fair." Clearly the alcohol talking.

Sesshomaru held in a groan then leaned close to her ear and whispered for only her to hear. "You make me want to kiss and bite that bottom lip." His words caused Kagome to inhale and held her breath and her words had the same effect.

"What's stopping you?" She used the breath she was holding to say that, her hot breath on his neck making him growl. They were inching closer and closer until in the short distance they both heard Sango yelling for Kagome, ruining the moment they were having.

"That is what is stopping me." He gritted through his teeth causing Kagome to giggle then she turned and sent a glare towards her friend.

"Kagome I called us a cab because I don't know about you but I'm too drunk to drive." Sango told her, then she noticed Sesshomaru behind her friend. "Is it ok if I leave my car here and come get it tomorrow?" Sango asked.

"Yes, that is fine. Just write down the make of you car and the license plate so I can make sure my men don't have it towed." Sesshomaru stated. Sango got a napkin and wrote down all the stuff he needed and handed it to him.

"The cab should be here, we should get going. Thanks for the free drinks." Sango said then made her way to the doors.

"I guess I should go. And as Sango said thanks for the free drinks, you really didn't need to do that. I'm happy that I let Sango talk me into coming tonight." Kagome said looking into his eyes but looked down when he grabbed her hand.

"I'm glad as well, and as for the drinks it was my pleasure. Until tomorrow then." He stated then lifted her hand and kissed the palm like he did earlier that night. Kagome stood there for a few minutes before she realized that he walked away. 'Wow' She thought. She made her way to the doors and saw Sango getting into the cab and she followed suit. Once inside the cab Kagome couldn't stop looking at her hand that still tingled from where he kissed. 'Tomorrow is going to be a long day.' She thought as the cab made its way to her house to drop Sango and her off.
