CHAPTER 21
The dinner affair went smoothly as Itachi mostly dominated the conversation. The oldest guy in the room was technically maneuvering the discussion of matters not related to the younger ones relationship. Despite him being at hand and as much as his presence screams intimidating, the blond and raven can't help themselves to some teases. The two were exchanging heated glances every moment and Itachi had to cough to make them aware that he was still in existence. But when a particular noise that sounds more or less like a gasp filled the table, Itachi had to put his foot down.
"I appreciate that you two need to express how much you love each other but that can wait. For now eat. One must respect the food placed before him."
Despite the stern command of the older Uchiha, his voice was laced with amusement. The blond flushed and slapped the pale hand that was caressing his thigh under the table.
"Teme, I told you to stop. Look, Itachi got mad." Naruto hissed at his boyfriend who only hoists his eyebrows on him, as if daring him to deny good feeling he felt with his caresses. The blonde rolled his eyes at the impossibility of Sasuke. But after that little reprimand, all three managed to finish their meal in peace.
After the dinner, they all assumed post in front of the flat screen television but none has his attention on the reality show that was playing. Itachi was reading a document, with his eyeglasses perched on his nose, a cup of steaming coffee on his left hand and the other two had their hands clasped, all their thoughts focused on each other. The young lovers were waiting for the older guy to leave them in solitude.
Sasuke glanced at the wall clock and saw that it was almost eight in the evening. It's late for Itachi to be driving back to his own place. The older Uchiha has some problems with his eyes that render him almost blind during the night. He can't have driving his brother away just to yield to his desires. Itachi's safety is more important after all.
"Naruto, come and help me prepare aniki's room." Sasuke said to the guy beside him as he separates their hands.
Itachi had to look up from the documents when he heard what his brother said.
"I'm not staying the night little brother. No need to bother yourselves."
Sasuke was about to retaliate when his older brother gave him a cold stare. "Fine, but I'll drive you home."
"Thank you Sasuke but that won't be necessary. I already called Kisame to pick me up. He and Deidera are still in the office."
Sasuke sighed in relief. He heard Naruto chortled. "What?" He growled.
The blond smirked haughtily. "Nothing. I never thought you can be a sweet little brother."
"Idiot." Sasuke said but he was clearly amused.
Itachi's cell phone rang and he excused himself to answer the call. The two was left in silence. After a moment, Itachi went to back to the younger males. "Kisame's on the lobby. I have to go." He tucked away the papers inside the briefcase and gathered his coat that was hanged on the hook.
The two stood and accompanied the older raven on the door. "I'll be visiting you more often Sasuke since our office nearby demands most of my time. I will spend some nights here every now and then."
Sasuke nodded. Itachi addressed the blond, "It was good to see you again Naruto. One of these days I might invite you over for dinner. No, not here and it'll be the two of us, alone." Itachi didn't miss the threatening snarl that escaped his younger brother while Naruto slightly blushed with the thought of him and Itachi going on an almost date. The older raven's a handsome and zealous man after all.
Itachi chuckled. "I'll go ahead. I'll be calling you Sasuke. Enjoy your night." He raised a hand to say his goodbye and the younger raven closed the door as the back of Itachi vanished from their sight. As soon as they went back to the living room, Sasuke jumped on Naruto making the blond fall on the couch.
"Hey, what's the big idea teme!?" The blond shouted at Sasuke's face as he tried to escape his arms but stopped his struggles when he felt the intense gaze of his boyfriend. He just realized how close their faces were. Naruto can see the unblemished soft skin of Sasuke, the high-bridged nose which he considered to be illegal, the dark eyes that can melt even the coldest person and those lips, the lips that caressed his own, the lips that uttered Sasuke's love for him. Unconsciously, a smile formed on Naruto's mouth, one that overflows with his own love for the raven.
Sasuke's heart beat rapidly as he saw his lover smiling under him; that smile that always radiates his world, the smile that saved him from his own demon. Naruto is his salvation. Overcoming his greatest fear is hard, it's a continuous process but having Naruto with him lessens the burden. He's not completely over his horror but step by step he's conquering it and eventually he will defeat it. For him, for Itachi, for Naruto.
Tan hands flew out of nowhere, cupping the pale face above it. Slowly, the hands caressed the silky skin, travelling down to the prominent jaws, sliding at that sexy neck and settled on the chest of Sasuke Uchiha. Naruto felt the rapid beat of the raven's heart, mirroring his own. No words were uttered as they simultaneously closed the distance until their lips met in a kiss. It was slow, as if they are tasting each other for the first time. Sasuke nip the blonds' bottom lip as he slightly sucked on it. Naruto let out a whine mixed with pleasure.
Sasuke's hands moved, from its position behind Naruto's head it now settled on the blonde locks, gripping the hair with slight force as he deepens their kiss. "I don't want to hear you apologizing for showing how much you want me, dobe." Sasuke's voice sent trembles on Naruto's body The intense gaze almost sent Naruto to the edge. He bit his lower lip and take courage to make the first move. He flung his right arm around Sasuke's neck while the other hand grips the scruff of his shirt. "You won't change your mind?" The raven insisted.
"No! Teme, go home! I have things to finish. If I don't do that report that the old perv wanted, I'm pretty certain he'll be having a sweet time giving me a failing mark."
The raven sighed as he pocketed his hands. "Hn. Alright. I'll see you."
Naruto was waiting for a kiss but Sasuke only left him a little smile. The blond just shrugged his shoulders and went inside to work on school stuff. Maybe Sasuke was disappointed after all.

Naruto came to school the following morning just as all the seniors have. Everybody was still keen on discussing the recent camp. He saw Sasuke made the smallest of smiles that appears like a quirk but it was enough for Naruto. It didn't slip his attention that a certain pink-haired woman was eyeing Sasuke in deep fascination. The blond chuckled inside. Oh what a terrible it is for the female community.
"Here's my man! Naruto dude, come over here!" Kiba called for him across the room. He threw a knowing look over the raven before he walked towards his friends, with happiness flowing out of him.
"Hey guys!" He dropped his bag on his seat, taking everyone's presence.
Sai smiled at him, while Shino and Neji nodded in acknowledgement. Chouji was busy munching on his snacks and Shikamaru just yawned in his direction.
Kiba slung an arm around his shoulders. "It feels good to win, right blondie? I can't help but brag. This is Shika and Neji we flattened out!"
The two mentioned didn't say a word but Neji narrowed his eyes at the loud mouth brunette. The lazy guy just sighed as if the statement bores him.
The blond grinned cheekily. "That only means that we're better Kiba!"
Kiba sniggered. "Of course we are!" He was still wearing the smug smirk as he stare down on his best friend. The blond has a goofy smile plastered on his lips. He was happy to see Naruto smiling that way again. As he took on Naruto's appearance his eyes caught two red marks sitting on the base of Naruto's neck just above the collarbone.
"Naruto, what's that on your neck? Did you get bitten by some insect or something?" Kiba asked.
The blond snapped his head on the brunette, his expression baffled. "What?"
"Here." He pressed his point finger on one of the marks that elicit a gasp from the blond. He jumped away from the brunette as his hand slapped on his neck mumbling, "I don't remember being bitten by—"
His words trailed as he recalled his lovemaking activities with Sasuke. It's the only explanation for the marks. His eyes widened and the blush crept on his face like he was burned under the heat of the sun. When he looked over his friends, all of them are staring curiously at him, with knowing looks on their eyes. Sai broke the awkward atmosphere.
"Someone's in need to explain himself." Sai said, with a slight edge to his voice. His dark eyes all penetrating the blond.
Naruto frowned as he raised his hand in mock surrender. "Alright. Later at lunch."
Just then the bell rang for the first period. Everybody went back to their seats as the lessons started to roll. The blond though has his thoughts on the marks and the awaiting conversation with his friends. Maybe it's best to bring Sasuke along. He stole a glance at the direction of the Uchiha and flashes of their intimate moments flicker before his eyes. He felt embarrass for thinking such things under the broad daylight and in the middle of the class! But he can't help it. He always thought it will always be a dream to have Sasuke. He snapped out of his daydream before it lands him to something more compromising.
He tried to focus his attention to what his professor was saying, but it proved to be difficult. He bravely looked over Sasuke again and received a jolt of surprise when he saw the Uchiha staring back at him. Butterflies instantly appeared on his gut and he felt something unexplainable rushing through him. This time, he felt his cheeks flush. He didn't dare break the eye contact until Sasuke smirked at him. He narrowed his eyes on him already on the verge of mouthing 'teme', but before he can do so, he felt a tap on his shoulder. He harshly looked to whoever did it and grimaced when he saw a pissed Umino Iruka staring down at him. He gulped and scratched the back of his neck.
"Mr. Uzumaki, I don't appreciate my students letting their minds wander off from the lesson. Yes, you did great at the camp and I'm assuming you will do the same inside my class." His voice was steady but stern and the blond felt beads of sweat forming on his temple. He nodded vigorously and the brunette teacher left him a sharp gaze. Sighing, he brought his attention on his notes.

"Man, I thought Iruka was going to chew you alive!" Kiba exclaimed as their classmates filed out to go over the canteen for their lunch. "It was stupid of you to slip into your fantasy under his class. He can be scary."
Naruto scowled at his best friend as he fished his frog purse from his bag. "I know! It's not intentional dog-breath! Iruka nearly made me wet my pants."
The brunette sniggered while everybody started walking out the door. Sai intrude in their conversation, "Let's go or nothing will be left for us. You two continue your Iruka-tale later." He said and marched off after their friends. Kiba shrugged his shoulders and followed the raven. The blond however deliberately slowed his actions so he can stay behind and ask Sasuke to join them in lunch. However he saw that he was the only one left in the room. He sighed dejectedly and went off to find his friends but as soon as he crossed the door, a hand grabbed him, pulling him to the wall.
"What the—!?"
"It's only me, dobe." Sasuke whispered on his ear. He can feel the hot breath of the raven tickling the fine hair over his hearing organ. He shivered under the feeling which caused Sasuke to chuckle, before removing himself from Naruto.
"Teme! I thought you went ahead the canteen. Let's have lunch together with the guys, if you're fine with it." Naruto couldn't help the slight plea from his voice. Since he promised his friends he'll tell them the situation, it will put him at ease knowing that Sasuke is beside him. It might help control some emotions within the group.
Sasuke's eyes bore into Naruto's, assessing the blue orbs and looking deep inside him. After a moment, Sasuke jerked his head, something that one can interpret as, 'if you must'. The tan guy gave a relieved sigh before his face broke into a dazzling smile.
"Let's go Sasuke! What are you waiting for?"
Naruto jogged ahead through the hallway before turning into the corner. He walked down the pathway leading to the canteen. Looking over his shoulders, he saw the raven following him with that impassive expression on his face, his hands on the pocket of his jeans. Smiling to himself, Naruto knew things will be as good as he hoped for.
Spotting his friends in the far corner table, he waved a hand and walked over them. He saw Kiba was talking animatedly with Chouji who already has his tray full of food. He grabbed the chair beside the brunette. "Hey! Haven't ordered yet?"
"We were waiting for you Blondie. But you're not expecting Chouji to do the same right?" He rolled his eyes as the plump man started downing his food.
Naruto laughed. "Nah. I would be surprise if he did." He saw Sasuke approaching them. "Why don't we get our meal?"
There were murmurs of agreement. "By the way, Sasuke's going to join us." He jerked his head towards the Uchiha who stood behind him.
No one said anything. There was an awkward atmosphere that seems to eat them all. Even Chouji who was already half through his meat, stopped chewing. Coughing to ease the situation, Kiba said, "Sure man. Come on." He beckoned his friends who were still looking at the raven with caution before they stood one by one. Sai was the last to leave his seat. His eyes never left the Uchiha.
When everyone has gotten their food, they went back to their table and started eating in silence. No one attempted to break the stillness until their plates were clean. When inevitable cannot be delayed anymore, Naruto made the first move.
"Ah, I don't want to complicate things and you guys know I'm not the type to play with words, so..." He sheepishly scratched the back of his neck then glanced at the raven beside him, trying to get more confidence. Sasuke looked back said nothing and then averted his gaze. "Sasuke and I are—"
"—lovers." Whatever Naruto was saying was finished off by none other than Sasuke Uchiha. He was looking directly at the blonds' friends, his gaze never faltering and his voice was injected with every ounce of confidence he has.
"It's time that you admit what you want." Shikamaru muttered. Most head in the table turned to look at the lazy genius. He shrugged his shoulders and offered nothing to explain his words.
Shino leaned forward by a fraction before saying, "I'm happy for the two of you. You have my support."
Chouji was next to offer his congratulations, followed by Neji. "We have seen this coming." He nodded before giving a sideway glance to Sai, whose face remained unreadable.
Kiba was unusually quiet and it made Naruto anxious. "Kiba?"
The brunette's face was void of emotion and in all honesty he wasn't sure what to feel. Of course, he wanted his best friend to be happy but he can't let the fact slide that it was also this man who was with him that made the blond cry so many times. Love really is a curious thing. Though he can't say that he's not expecting this. It was only a matter of time.
Kiba look determinedly at the raven, "I don't think I have any right to disapprove but I want your word Uchiha. Your word telling all of us here that you're not going to hurt Naruto. He had enough of you shattering his heart. I just want him to be happy and as much as I hate to admit it, we know that you can give him that happiness."
Sasuke met the hard gaze of Kiba and after a moment or two he said, "You have my word. I'll make him happy."
A smile formed on Naruto's lips. Everything seems fine now. He wanted to grab Kiba and give him a bone-crushing hug but before he can even lift a finger, a hand caught his arm. He saw Sasuke glaring at him. Possessive, jealous bastard. He contented himself with flinging an arm around the broad shoulders of the brunette. He knows that his message has been sent across.
"That was intense! I thought for sure you'll never approve of this. I was almost preparing myself for the worst. But you guys are the best!" He beamed at every face in the table.
"We're not going to get deeply involved with your relationship because you two are old enough to handle your problems yourselves but do remember Naruto, we're here for you." Neji said with a small smile in his lips.
"Thanks Neji!"
Just then the bell rang that signals lunch break is over. The scraping of chairs echoed and scurrying of feet filled their ears. It's time to go back to their classes.
"Alright guys. Drama's up. Let's head back." Kiba said and stood. All of their friends followed. Sai on the other hand didn't move from his seat.
"Sai, not coming? You're going to be late." Naruto said as he stood at the same time that Sasuke did. The Uchiha didn't seem pleased at the idea of the blond worrying himself over somebody else, but he didn't say anything. He just continued to stand beside the tan guy, not sparing any attention to the other raven.
"I'll have to look over something. You guys can go ahead."
The blond has a confused look on his face. He wanted to ask if there's something wrong with his friend when Sasuke butted in, "Let's go or we'll be in trouble."
Naruto bit his lips and looked over Sai with concern flooding his face. "We'll be going now Sai. You should as well after you're done with your thing." The shorter-haired raven nodded.
The two left, leaving the guy alone. Sai stood up as he watched the retreating backs of the two vanish from his sight. He combed his hair with a hand. He was utterly frustrated and hurt. He was expecting this; the interactions between those two since the camp were suspicious enough as it is so it was not like the fact that they are lovers now came as a surprise. No it doesn't but Sai still felt he has hope to make the blonde realized that he's a much better man than that Uchiha. Now that things have come this far, the only option left was to give up, if it also means being graced by Naruto's bright smile once more. He shook his head in utter disappointment of himself. He should have made his moves when Naruto needs comfort, when Naruto was hurting, when Naruto was most vulnerable. But he can't take someone's distress for his own gain, mostly not if that person is the one he love. For now he'll accept his defeat and wish his blond the happiness he deserves.

When Sai went home that day he wasn't expecting Sakura to be at the front door with her arms crossed at her chest. She was wearing an impatient look as she took in the form of his cousin walking in deliberate slowness.
"What took you so long? Classes ended an hour ago!"
Sai mustered his self-control so as not to roll his eyes on the pink-haired girl. "I had to go to the library for some research. I never thought you're keeping tabs of me."
The girl clicked her tongue. "I wanted to ask you something."
"Can't it wait until I've changed my clothes? You see I just got home." Sai said with mild sarcasm.
"This won't take long. Let's talk inside." She went ahead in the living room. Sitting on the couch, she motioned the raven to do the same.
"What is it?" Sai said as soon as he's seated.
"I wanted to ask something about Sasuke."
The statement brought a little surprise to the raven. His cousin never bothered him with anything not unless it's something that will benefit her.
"Since when did you have to ask me something that concerns a guy you like?"
"Since now. So, I saw you having lunch with him today. Are you guys close? He's never as much gave me a glance but he was, how do I say this, relaxed, at ease with that blonde. Sasuke never behave like that with anyone. And Sasuke always has his eyes on him. No matter how much Ino and I flaunt ourselves to him, he never acknowledge us. He simply ignores us."
Sai massaged his temple. He felt suddenly tired. "We're not close. We're not even friends and I doubt we'll ever be. Get to the point Sakura. Where are you getting at?"
Sakura pursed her lips, uncertainty dancing in her green eyes. "Is he perhaps gay? And is that Naruto his boyfriend?"
Sai stiffened at her questions. Girls are really perceptive but Sai won't give her any bit of information. It was too personal for him to reveal.
"Not my place to tell."
The girl furrowed her brows. "Does that mean that you know?"
The raven just shrugged his shoulders.
"I can't make you talk huh. Well I'll find about it myself and I'll make him realize that girls are better! I'm definitely better than anyone!"
"Yeah? Good luck on that. If you're quite done, I want to rest now." When Sakura said nothing Sai stood up and head for his room, leaving a somewhat displeased pinkette on her own.
A/N: I can't believe it took me a couple of months before I was able to post another chapter. Sorry everyone. Well how was the lemony part? *hides under the cover* I'm not too confident on that but I really did try hard to deliver it. Lemons are a challenge to write and take a lot of thinking.
Someone asked if the story's ending. Actually no, not yet. There'll be something more to happen before I can finally close the story (if you catch the drift with Sai-Sakura's conversation at the end and some other more I have yet to work on). If everything goes as planned, there'll be around four or five chapters more.
