Chapter 20 – Last Battle

July 31st 3:00 p.m.

Runway, North Korean Base

Marcus raced towards Chase Lihn's BMW, from what he could tell Chase manage to repair her car on short notice.

"Marcus, you will pay for everything… ever since Tri City you're all I think about" said Chase as she raced head on towards Marcus' GT-R.

"You're worse than an obsessive ex-girlfriend" said Kira as she rammed Chase with her Aston Martin.

"Stay out of this…. I'll deal with you after I kill him" Chase said.

Marcus rammed Chase for a second time "You heard the lady"

Chase recovered and selected missiles, then she took aim at Marcus.

"That won't work" said Marcus when he noticed the lock-on alert, he raced towards Chase and used machine guns to destroy the incoming missiles.

"Marcus, we gotta do something about that bitch" said Kira.

The GT-R tried to ram the BMW again but Chase managed to evade the car.

"Look, Kira. I need you to make way for Xian and company. There's an Antonov jet close to the hangar we blew up" said Marcus.

"But Marcus…" Kira protested.

"I'll be ok… I got this" Marcus said.

Kira did a 180 turn "Ok…. Take that bitch down and promise you'll come with us"

"I will…. Now go!" Marcus replied.

Kira raced out and was on her way to help Xian and his people along with the refugees they found earlier.

The GT-R and the BMW M3 were facing each other.

"So now it's you and me…. You wanted your chance for revenge and here it is…. Come!" Marcus taunted.

"You're dead" Chase replied. Both cars raced head on, the GT-R swerved to the side causing the M3 to slide and make a 180 turn. Marcus used the car's machine gun but at no avail.

Chase raced towards Marcus' car and within range she used her plasma cutter which inflicted heavy damage to the GT-R.

"Vehicle's shield damaged by 40%" read the HUD. Marcus knew that another hit from the plasma cutter could incapacitate his car.

"Marcus, are you alright?" Jade asked on the radio.

"Not really…. Any ideas?" Marcus replied.

"Chase neutralized the virus that Wade inserted in your previous encounter but the worm cluster is hidden deep within her car's mainframe. Keep her busy so I can re-animate the cluster" Jade explained.

"That shouldn't be too hard" Marcus replied sarcastically.

"I know it's hard but it's our only chance" Jade said.

Marcus paused for a second and looked at Chase's car "Ok but whatever you do, do it fast"

Meanwhile…. On top of the rail gun…

Dalton and Jae Kwan were standing on top of the rail gun. Both men were facing each other, Dalton was a Muay Thai specialist while Jae Kwan was versed in a violent form of Taekwondo. They stared hard for a second before they engaged in combat.

Jae Kwan attacked first with a flying kick which Dalton countered with flying knee. Both men fell to the floor as their attacks landed simultaneously. Dalton got back up and rushed to attack Jae Kwan but he was able to land a kick on Dalton's jaw as he got back on his feet with a spinning kick. Dalton only shook it off and threw a right cross to Jae Kwan's face and got him in a Muay Thai clinch. Then proceeded to nail him with knee strikes to the mid-section. Jae Kwan was able to escape the clinch and tried to catch his breathe.

"Get up….. I wanna keep doing this all day" said Dalton.

Jae Kwan leaped into the air and landed two kicks on Dalton.

"Be careful what you wish for" Jae Kwan taunted. Then he kicked Dalton several times while the latter was on the ground "because you might get it!"

Dalton covered himself and then he grabbed Jae Kwan's foot and took him down. Both men were on the ground, breathing heavily. Dalton look to his left and saw Marcus' GT-R battling Chase Lihn's BMW.

"That woman is really something…." Jae Kwan was back on his feet.

"Say what?" Dalton said as he was getting up as well.

"She cheated death and now she's face to face with the man that ruined her life…. And she's playing an important role for our nation's rise to power" Jae Kwan said.

"She's a common criminal…. And she could care less about you revolution" Dalton barked.

Jae Kwan walked towards the edge of the rail gun's platform "People always serve a purpose whether they are aware or not…. Even you serve our purpose… you're the main antagonist to our story"

"Enough talk…. The sooner you die, the sooner I'll take a vacation" Dalton replied.

"Very well" Jae Kwan turned to Dalton and got on his fighting stance.

Back to the runway…..

Chase Lihn opened fire on Marcus' car, some of the bullets were able to penetrate the once powerful armored shell.

"Caution…. Shields' efficiency down to 20%" said the GT-R's on-board computer.

"Jade, anytime now" said Marcus.

"Almost there" Jade replied over the radio.

Marcus launched to missiles at the BMW M3 which caused it to spin out of control.

"It's useless, Marcus…. You're on the losing end this time" Chase taunted.

The GT-R rammed the BMW with full force.

"If I die, I'm taking you with me!" Marcus replied.

The M3 recovered, Chase took aim and launched a missile at the GT-R but Marcus was able to evade it by drifting to the side. A technique he copied from his fiancé.

Chase tried to ram the GT-R head on but Marcus drifted to the side again, causing Chase to slam into a fuel truck.

"I've just awaken the worm cluster in Chase Lihn's car, now hit it again with the EMP" Jade said.

Marcus took aim and blasted the electromagnetic pulse at Chase's BMW M3.

"What a hell!" said Chase as she saw her entire dashboard spark all over, the HUD display on her windshield started to fuss. After a few seconds the vehicle and its system shut down, Chase tried to re-ignite the car but at no avail.

"Thanks Jade, you're an angel" said Marcus, then he aimed his last missile at Chase's disabled car.

Chase saw the small compartment open from the lower bumper on the GT-R.

"Oh fuck!" Chase groaned.

"Bye bitch!" Marcus launched the missile at the BMW, causing it to explode along with the fuel truck in a huge fireball.

On top of the rail gun Dalton and Jae Kwan saw the explosion as it made the rail gun rumble.

"So your friend survived" Jae Kwan said.

"And now you're next" Dalton threw a low kick to Jae Kwan's leg and followed with several elbow shots to the head. Jae Kwan retaliated with a back spinning kick to Dalton's mid-section which made the latter stager for a moment. Jae Kwan tried a back heel kick but Dalton block it with his elbow and countered with a flying knee to Jae Kwan's face.

"Game over" Dalton threw a roundhouse kick to Jae Kwan's face, causing him to take one step back to the edge of the rail gun's platform and for the finishing move, Dalton performed a Superman punch which landed on Jae Kwan's face.

Jae Kwan without saying a word fell to his death.

Dalton was completely exhausted but he had one more thing to do, disarm the Red Lazarus. He jumped to a small catwalk and climbed down a ladder. There was a manhole that led to launching pod where the missile was. Dalton pulled his combat knife and pried the compartment open and there it was, a silver vial with a bio-hazard symbol on it.

"This is what everyone was dying for" Dalton said as he grabbed the virus container, then he climbed back to the platform and walked to the edge and saw Marcus and Kira down below.

"Dalton, down here!" Kira waved as she saw Dalton.

"What took you guys so long?" Dalton said.

"Very funny, smartass. Let's go home" said Marcus.

Dalton made his way down the rail gun with the last container of Red Lazarus.

Back on the runway….

Kira ran and gave Dalton a hug "I'm happy you're ok"

"Same here" Dalton said as he wiped the blood off the side of his head.

"So that containers is?" Marcus walked up to Dalton.

"Red Lazarus" Dalton replied.

"Now that we've finished the job, how about we get the hell out of here… I have an angry girlfriend I'm gonna propose to back home" Marcus walked to his car.

"Right" Dalton said.

"Xian and his people are waiting in the plane" said Kira.

Dalton nodded.

The Vulcan Stingray, the Night Raven and the Ghost Falcon raced full speed towards the Antonov where Xian, his operatives and the refugees were waiting.
