Annabeth searched through the masked visitors belongings, she knew it was wrong but what she had seen earlier kept playing over and over in her head.
That blue masked person had called her Wisegirl.
She'd also had a spear in a mace can, from her spying she'd seen that the people were trying to hide their weapons so people wouldn't know who they were but now... she knew.
Her skinny fingers slipped inside the pockets of the leather jacket that lay, draped over the arm of one of the statues. Inside her fingers curled over something familiar and she brought it out with a feeble cry of victory, her old Yankees cap was in perfect condition.
She narrowed her eyes and looked at the other things that had been pulled out of the pocket. It was the handle of a lightsaber. By pressing the button she released a dark blue glowing blade, so that's how she had made the mistake Annabeths mind mused It was because the mace can and lightsaber had similar shapes, she must've picked up the wrong one. Another thing caught her eye, It was necklace- one of the ones from camp half-blood. on it was strung a few of the beads that were given out each year, but these ones were burnt so black you could barely make out the pictures anymore, the only one she could make out was the picture of a trident, a skull and a lightning bolt with a strike through them...
representing the year the children of the big 3 Gods had been banished.
Thalia strode towards the portal that had been set up in the yard, In her hand she clutched the piece of paper- If she was correct then to cure her friends she would need to call one of the companies most well known contacts. She didn't want any of them to end up like percy.
As she stepped through the portal she felt a slight feeling of light headedness before watching her body materialise on the grounds of the school. She could already see the teachers filing out of the building in robes that were so last century, squabbling like a bunch of teenage girls. A cat was the first one to reach her and she bent down to address it formally. I'm afraid Olympus is having some dragon problems and I fear that there is a basilisk on the loose roaming around there somewhere, my friend has been frozen and I've heard from a reliable resource that Mandrakes can help to cure paralysis.
The cat miaowed before swishing its tail and slowly growing in size, It's tail and ears shrinking until there was a normal woman standing in front of her with messy grey hair tied in a bun, spectacles and witches robes. "My dear, come with me." The woman placed her hand on Thalia's arm and waved away the rest of the teachers with the other. "I'm the Head Mistress here at Hogwarts and we certainly do have a supply of Mandrakes that we could get for you, sorry for accidentally getting one of your colleagues turned into a rat when they were last here, I take it from your mask you are from The Company?"
They took a small path leading round to the other side of the great school, it's magnificent stone walls rose up next to them and distracting Thalia. "Yes, I am currently in charge while our leader is away. Thank you for your help."
Annabeth stared at the bead in her hand and a cold feeling crept into her heart, feelings she thought she had long ago suppressed welled up inside her as she desperately ran from room to room looking for something. She fumbled hesitantly with the stick when she found it, she had seen the green masked leader use it to make their weapons disappear into thin air, if only she could find it and know for certain wether a certain someone had come back.
A hole appeared in the air in front of her and hesitantly she put her hand in side and felt around, for a moment there was just empty air before she felt her fingertips brush against a cold metal cylinder. As she pulled it out her heart gave a little leap.
In her hand she clutched something she'd never thought she'd see again, a weapon with immense power and had been beside her on her best quests, the wielder of this weapon was truly the greatest hero she had ever met and now she felt as though she had the chance to meet him again.
She shoved he cap and the lightsaber in her pocket and ran outside, in the sunlight she could see the name glinting on the side of the pen- Anaklusmos, Riptide.
She was too busy admiring the pen to notice the girl stepping out of a portal in front of her carrying lots of potted plants until they collided, within a moment the pots lay smashed on the ground and the small mouths of the mandrakes opened in a horrible wail. The pen skittered out of Annabeth's hand and came to lie at the girls black booted feet who looked down on it with a mixture of horror and surprise on her face.
The mask had been nocked aside in the collision and now the daughter of Athena was staring into one of the faces she thought she'd never see again. Thalia.
