I THINK YOU GUYS WILL LIKE THIS CHAPTER... HOPEFULLY.
Klaus walked into the room, oblivious of the fact that Caroline was waiting for him. He closed the door and went to his bedroom, when he noticed something in the room….
"Caroline?" No response "Is everything okay?"
The blonde smiled, the kind of smile that would make another run, but not him. He hesitantly stepped into the living room and turned on the lights, since everything was dark. Sitting in the couch, there she was waiting in her pajamas, looking bored but at the same time, very angry.
"I don't know, Klaus. Is everything okay?" She said it in a way that remind him of the ball. The cold hard tone in her voice, with hurt laced between each word. He didn't knew what she could be angry about, but then he remembered the shadow he had seen earlier that day, and knew it was her.
"I can explain why I didn't told you" He winced, knowing full well why he didn't told her. He wanted to spare her the pain of finding this out. He waited for her anger to diminish. It didn't. He waited a little bit more, then he started talking.
"Two weeks ago, Rebekah was in the forest, near Mystic Falls. On the edge, to be technical. She noticed a body, hanging near the edge of the creek. It was covered in blood and-"he let Caroline proses this. "But the body…. It had a heartbeat. We have been finding bodies all over, but never left alive….. Then we realized it- she- wasn't truly alive"
"She was a vampire" she whispered, horrified. "Was she in full transition?" Klaus knew the truth was coming, he knew it. He just didn't wanted to face it.
"Yes" Caroline sucked in a breath, then let it out. "We think she was forced to complete the transition, because when she woke up, she freaked"
"How long have you been finding bodies?" It was obvious to him Caroline was fishing for information, even though he would tell her anything.
"About a week and a half. I didn't wanted to tell you because you already had so much on your plate, with Marcel and what-not" She snorted, her face twisting into an "Are you kidding?" expression, making him feel stupid.
"We don't know who is doing the killing, if you're wondering. We have nothing on them. All we know is that they have very powerful people in their group" Klaus noticed how quite she was, and he wondered if she was starting to piece the information together.
"Who was the body, Klaus?" He winced at that question, not wanting to be the one to break the news to her. But he had too, he knew that.
"Caroline…. This will not be easy…. I'm sorry for this" She started trembling, trying to stay calm.
"Who. Was. It?" She asked, now clearly irritated. Her face twisted into a scowl.
"Your mom" she looked up, wide red eyes, that looked like they've been crying too long….. and they were. "It was Sheriff Forbes… Care, your mom is a vampire" Klaus didn't realized it what was happening until her eyes completely closed. Thankfully, he caught her before she hit the floor.
When Caroline woke up in her room, the first thing she noticed was the sunlight and the memories of the night before rushed into her. With those, came the tears, and the wonder of how her mommy was holding on to her new reality. Her mother was vampire. The thing she hated the most. She couldn't imagine how much suffering she was going through. Just the mere thought of her mother hating herself gave her an empty uncomfortable feeling in her chest. She kept crying and crying and…..
Suddenly, she felt a pair of arms envelop her, pulling her against his chest. Klaus. "Let it all out sweetheart" and she cried until she couldn't cry any longer.
"Where is she?" They were in the kitchen, talking about the circumstances her mother was in. She didn't want to call it any other name, because that would mean talking about visiting her, which she couldn't do at the moment, not with everything else around her going on.
"She's alright. Your mother is with Stefan, in the best hands" She suddenly remembered Klaus talking about how they were finding bodies. "What about the thing killing people? Do you think it will come here?" She felt instant relief, knowing her mother was with Stefan and Rebekah. But then… "Wait, I thought Stefan and Becks were in a hotel… did Rebekah brought her with them?" That would explain why Stefan was in such a hurry over the phone, she thought.
"Yes, it does explains that" had she said that out loud? Oops "And yes, to answer your question. Rebekah brought your mother over to their hotel room….. Here in New Orleans" That caught her attention. Her mother was here? That made her feel better; but it didn't answered her question. Caroline then understood he was trying to change the subject.
"Can it come here, Klaus? The murderer?" Klaus tensed, and his face twisted into a scowl.
"I don't know; and I seriously don't want to worry about that"
"But we have to, if we don't, who will"
"Marcel can worry about his precious little city"
"I thought it was your city"
"Same difference" She was getting frustrated
"Klaus, this is your chance to actually be the hero, not the villain. We need all the help we can get to find this thing, whatever it is, and that means-"
"Don't say it" She said it.
"We need Marcel and the witches to find this thing"
