Austin's POV

"Louis! Get off of my face!" Ally grumbled under the mess of a pile on the floor that was Louis Tomlinson.

Louis just stuck his tongue out at her with no intention of getting up. Ally groaned and Louis just smirked. "This is what you get for calling me boring!"

Honestly, this whole situation is cracking me up. We've been at the boys' flat for merely 15 minutes, and Ally had already managed to get herself kicked off the couch and sat on by Louis.

Zayn and Niall were shouting at each other and the tv while playing some sort of video game I don't recognize. Liam sat in the corner, overlooking everyone, occasionally telling Zayn and Niall to be quiet or scolding Louis. Harry sat next to where Ally had been sitting on the couch, laughing at Ally, taking pictures, and posting them on twitter.

Ally groaned again and finally Harry said, "Okay, come on Louis. Before you kill her." Louis still wasn't moving, so Harry pushed Louis off of Ally, making Louis fall sideways onto the floor. Harry helped Ally stand up and they both sat back down on the couch. Harry casually had his arm around Ally, and that really set me off for some reason.

They were just friends..right?

I tried to ignore them, I really did. But, for the next fifteen minutes they sat there, giggling back and forth, their faces close together, his arm still around her shoulder, peering at his phone. I couldn't look away.

"Staring is not caring!" Louis whispered into my ear.

I jumped at his sudden voice by my side. I hadn't even noticed he was sitting by me.I snapped my head over towards his. My eyes widened. "I wasn't staring."

Louis laughed at me, raising his eyebrows. "Oh really?"

I could tell he didn't believe me, but I couldn't blame him. I had been staring. That much was obvious. Now, how do I cover my tracks?

"I just zoned out for a bit, that's all."

Louis just smirked at me, with a knowing look. "You sure this has nothing to do with how you obviously like Ally?"

I snapped my eyes up to meet his and frantically looked towards Ally, to make sure she hadn't heard Louis. I noticed Harry and Ally were actually not in the room anymore, I let out a breath of relief.

"They left a few minutes ago. They wanted to go to the bakery."

"Oh. Okay. So..London huh?"

"Don't try to change the subject!"

I cringed. I was hoping he would just drop the whole me liking Ally subject. I would really rather not go down that road.

"Come on, Austin. You obviously like Ally."

I sighed. I knew I couldn't really deny it. Louis knew. He was right all along. I couldn't find the words to say it out loud, so I just nodded.

"Yes! I knew it! You guys WILL end up dating!"

I raised my eyebrows. Louis was clearly forgetting one major detail. Ally. It's not like Ally liked me. Even if she says there's nothing going on between her and Harry...I still feel like there is.

"Uh..Louis. To be dating..you kind of have to have mutual feelings.."

Louis' face twisted in confusion. "Uh duh."

He still didn't get it. "Ally doesn't like me like that."

Louis scoffed. "What makes you think that?"

I laughed without humor. "It's pretty obvious Ally likes Harry."

Louis laughed with me. "Oh please! Harry and Ally are just friends. Best friends, yes. But just friends. Ally helps Harry get girls."

Wait. What?

"No. They're just saying that."

"No...listen to me Austin. Ally does not like Harry. There is nothing going on between them. You don't have to worry about Harry."

I decided right then to just believe Louis. Afterall, he is best friends with Harry. He knows him better than anyone. I nodded weakly, letting Louis know I believed him.

"You know what that means, Austin?"

I shook my head.

"Oh come on, Austin! You still have a chance!"

I looked at him with confusion. He really thought I had a chance with someone like Ally? Come on, we have a tough history together. Besides, she'd never like me like that.

"Seriously Austin! You and Ally are meant to be together, I can feel it!"

I sighed. "Louis. She would never like me."

"Of course she would! You guys have to write a duet, right?"

I was confused as to where this discussion was leading, but I just went with it. "Uh yeah. That's why I offered to come here with Ally. She wanted to see you guys so badly, but she couldn't come because of the duet. So...if we write the duet here, she can visit with you guys."

Louis smirked at me. "You know how much you can say in a song?"

Uh..what?

"Austin. You're a singer. You like a songwriter. You're language is music. Use it to your advantage. This duet...it's your breaking point."

"What do you mean?"

He shook his head at me, clearly disappointed that I didn't understand. "Austin. You can win her over through the whole experience of writing and singing the duet. You just have to find the right lyrics."

Huh. Okay. I think I know what he means. I think he's saying the duet has to mean something. I have to find a way to say how I feel through the song.

"Ya know what? I'll give it a shot."

Louis smiled hugely at me, clearly happy he had convinced me. "Good. Because I ship Auslly."

"Auslly?"

"Yeah...Auslly."
