After returning to Parker from the wilderness, Emily once again found herself with more than enough free-time on her hands, with Hotchner and Morgan calling back to Quantico to bring in the Calvary of the FBI and HRT teams as the replacement of Chief Brody and most of the now dead police officers.

She later learned that after the bodies were recovered that they performed ballistic tests that they and the hunter Elkins had been killed by Tyler Cullen and a second unknown shooter.

Emily was the only one that had a plan for something to do in that time that was left for the day. Hotchner and Morgan would be in the police station all night into midnight. Rossi was staying behind to help them and J.J. and Reid were turning in for the night last she saw of either of them.

James she lost track of after he was brought back. Then she heard that some of the hunters in town were having a toast in honor of Elkins. She quickly left for the dinner where they were all supposed to meet as soon as she leaned about it.

Although she was still trying to figure out how she was going to break it to him about her pregnancy and him being a father. When they were young and engaged, James never brought up having children. He seemed to welcome the idea of it back then, but he was a different person now, just barely a piece of the man he once was.

Finally she arrived at the dinner.

James was sitting alone at one of the back tables alone by himself. The others in the dinner were ignoring him, not that Emily found it to be much of a surprise, after he was arrested upon their return to Parker and the DNA test confirmed that he and the Cullen family were related Chief Brody and the Parker Police Department put little effort into hiding the fact of his relation to them a secret.

He was not angry see her as she walked up, in fact he was quite the opposite. In her mind he had a few reasons to hate her, she and the team were partially responsible for the town learning about his relationship to the Cullen family, and he was forced to kill the only other known surviving Cullen, who could have told him anything he wanted to know, just to save her from the mine she stepped on.

"Hey Raven." He says, greeting her as she arrives. Emily took the seat across from him replying gently "Hey James."

Emily looked at James thinking about what to say to him. She was unsure if she wanted to apologize for bringing this mess down on him, tell him about her status quo of being pregnant. She then asks a third option question "What are you doing here by yourself?"

"Celebrating, for the first time in the past two horrible years I can finally leave Parker now that Stabler is out of my life." James said, glad to finally be rid of Stabler after two years of being bullied and harassed by him to no end.

"Wait… you're glad he's dead?" Emily asks, horrified by the idea of him enjoying that another human being was gone from this earth. James takes notice to this quickly and clarifies saying "I'm not glad he is dead, I'm glad because I am finally free to leave this miserable little excuse of a town."

"What was keeping you here?" Emily asks, then James says "During my first year here after Stabler tried to arrest me a couple of times he would have me arrested whenever I tried to leave to go visit my nephew and niece. Now with him gone I'm free to leave and start over somewhere new."

James quickly follows up his answer by saying "It's a shame I won't be able to learn anything new from the Cullen family." Making what little disappointment he had clear. Then Emily says out of guilt "I'm really sorry about that James, I know it meant a lot to you."

"Don't be." James says in an attempt to make her feel better "If I had to do it all over again I would do it all the same way without a second thought."

Emily was glad to hear him say those words. She felt some closure in knowing that he did not blame her for what happened.

As a moment of silence came between them Emily once again pondered telling him of how she was pregnant, but every time she got cold feet. James could see this, but was unaware of what was causing such internal conflict and asks "Raven, is there something you want to tell me?"

"Why?" She asked. He then replies "Every time you want to tell me something important you look like you have a terminal disease, and right now raven you look like you have the freaking Black Death plague."

It was nothing new for Emily to realize that he could tell when she was holding the cards so close to her chest—figuratively speaking. She then took in a deep breath, looking for the courage to give him the news before finally saying "Yesterday before they brought you to the interrogation room….I was being checked by the doctors….they found something strange near or around my stomach so they wanted to take a better look at it, but then I had to leave. I went back earlier today before I was coming to get you."

"What was it, you sick or something?" James asked appearing to be completely oblivious to where this was going to at first, then an idea as to what she meant hit him on the head like a hammer.

"You're pregnant?" He said, sounding both shocked and at the same time confused before asking "Isn't that something women at your age can't do any more?"

"And just how old is it that you think I am?" Emily asks, and then James says "Well let me think, I'm in my forties and since you're a year older than me I would guess you are also in your forties. Stop me if I'm wrong."

Emily shut down for a second; subtlety was never his strong suit, right up there with his first impressions. James quickly realized his error and says "Sorry Emily didn't mean to offend you."

The seniority in his apology was genuine, Emily could hear it and accepted it saying "It's okay; to be honest I was a little shocked myself, took me a couple of minutes to realize it when they told me. Though you're taking it better than I thought you would."

"How did you expect me to take it? Just drop my jaw down and remain still for an hour or two." James joked. He then asks "But their sure? The Doctors were 100% positive?"

"They say it's an early stage, but yeah their sure." She replied.

James then begins sit back in his chair, contemplating what to do with this prospect of being a father. He had a look of a man who had just been given some of the best news for the first time in a long, long time. He did not even try to conceal the smile on his face.

"What are you thinking James?" Emily asked and James responds saying "To be honest, when I started to make plans to leave town I was still thinking about where to go to. Now it looks like I'll have to try finding a home near you."

"You'd do that?" Emily asked then James replies "Of course I would, I'm not going to leave you to deal with this on your own."

She was glad to hear him say that, she was still a little nervous at the thought of being a mother and did not want to have to deal with it on her own like she did when she was a teenager and Matt had to help her.

James having already finished his food and drink leaves his money on the table for the waiter. He then says "I'm going home Raven, as soon as your people are done raiding that mad house for the old man in the wheel chair I'm leaving."

"Wait up." Emily said, following behind him as the two leave together.

As they walk down the streets together Emily asks "If you could make it to Quantico, do you really think that you would be able to find work to keep you there? I mean it's not like there's a lot of mechanic jobs around there."

"I'll find something, it's not like I can just walk away again." James said, making it clear that he was not going to leave her so easily this time. She was smiling at him as he said those words and he asks "What are you smiling about? Is there something on my face?"

She continued to smile before saying "I'm just happy to know you'll be there." James himself starts to smile again and says "Me too."

The following morning

Emily woke up the next morning, finding her head resting on a pillow next to James. It was more than likely the most perfectly pure night's rest that she has had for the first time in a long time.

Her phone ringing was the very thing that woke them up. As Emily begins to dress herself as she answers it, James being the one who was still half-asleep, she could see him starting to get up herself. She checks the caller ID before answering, it was Hotchner.

"Hello?" She said as she answers the call.

"Prentiss, the raid is going down soon; we're gearing up with the HRT teams near the hunting grounds." Hotchner said from his end of the call. Prentiss then begins to putt on her shoes and grab her gun, after she finished dressing herself in a quick flash as she says "Alright, I'm on my way, just give me a couple of seconds to get there."

"Hold on Prentiss, we need you to bring Greaves with you." Hotchner said from his end of the phone conversation, just seconds before Emily was about to hang up. She then looks over to James, who was dressing himself up, and then back to her gun as she places it on her side and asks "Why do you need him?"

"When I was giving the request for a sniper to cover the raid, the sniper they recommended to me was given some of the details to the case and he recommended that Greaves be given the position instead." Hotchner replied to her question and she asks in riposte "Which sniper recommended him?"

"Mick Rawson, he spoke highly of him, said he would be better prepared for this on account of how he has a better understanding of the area." Hotchner said, clarifying as to why he was needing James. She was surprised to hear the name of Rawson again though, or the fact that they knew each other.

Hatcher then hangs up after hearing her say "Okay." She then look to James, giving a confusing look and he quickly takes notice to this asking "Something wrong Raven?"

She then says "Yeah, my boss said to bring you along to be our sniper."

"Why?" He asked, and Emily replies "I'll tell you when we get there."

"Okay." James said as he shrugs his head with a accepting grin on his face and begins to get fully dressed, grabbing his brown leather jacket before getting his two guns and rifles before walking out the door behind Emily as he fits on a pair of gloves.
