So I know it's been a couple months and I feel super bad for not updating until now. But here is the next chapter! There will probably only be a few more so I hope you enjoy!
Gail starts to stir as she lifts her head to see Holly sleeping soundly beside her. She smiles and scoots closer to Holly wrapping her in a hug as she cuddles against her giving her a kiss on her forehead.
Holly moves a little turning more towards Gail. "Hmm" Holly starts to mumble.
Gail kisses Holly again on her cheek working her way to her lips. "Hey baby." Gail hums to Holly as she sees her smile.
Holly blinks her eyes a few times while smiling. "What time is it?" Holly wonders.
"Just past 6." Gail continues to caress Holly's hair as she kisses her shoulder. "I thought we could get up and have breakfast before you have to go into work." Gail is off today, but she wants to spend as much time with Holly as she can.
"Mmm. Yeah that sounds good." Holly smiles up at Gail and leans forward to give her a kiss on her lips.
Gail kisses her a few times back before pulling away. "I'll start making breakfast while you get dressed." She brushes the hair out of Holly's face before kissing her forehead and making her way to the kitchen.
Once Holly is dressed she heads into the kitchen to see Gail.
"Hey it smells great Gail." Holly walks in and looks at the stove then smiles back at Gail.
"It's just bacon, eggs and toast." Gail smiles as she finishes cooking the eggs.
"Still looks great." Holly says as she walks towards Gail wrapping her hands around her waist kissing her neck. Gail turns around in Holly's arms kissing her a few more times before Holly lets go so she can grab a cup of coffee.
Gail grabs the plates and sets them down on the kitchen table.
"So what are you going to do on your day off?" Holly asks Gail taking a bite out of her bacon.
"No idea. Probably hangout here for a little while and then go meet Dov for lunch." Gail takes a sip of her coffee.
"Sounds like a fun filled day." Holly smiles as she continues to eat her breakfast.
"Finally having a day off is nice though. I want to be lazy." Gail states knowing that she's been working non-stop for the last couple of weeks.
"Hey I think you should be lazy. You deserve it sweetie." Holly says as she looks at her watch.
"I need to go or I'm going to be late." Holly states as she takes one last bite of her breakfast and gets her coffee to go.
She grabs her purse as Gail follows behind her.
"Have a good day Hols. Call me if you need anything." Gail says as she gives Holly a kiss on her lips.
"I will. Love you." Holly smiles and kisses Gail one more time.
"Love you too." Gail says as Holly heads to work.
After a few hours Gail makes her way to her parents house to discuss something important.
Gail walks up to their door and takes a deep breath before knocking. After a few seconds her dad answers.
"Gail. What are you doing here?" her father asks shocked to see her.
"I wanted to speak to mom about something. I can go though." Gail answers since she hasn't talked with her parents since the dinner incident.
"No, no don't go. I'm just surprised to see you is all. I'm glad you came by though. Come in while I go get your mom." Bill says as Gail walks into the living room standing awkwardly.
After a few minutes of standing nervously her mom walks into the room.
"Gail." her mother says not showing any emotion.
"Mom" is all Gail can say.
"So what brings you by. Must be something important seeing as we haven't seen you for months." her mother says still standing in her spot.
"Yes there is something that I wanted to tell you." Gail says as she looks at her mom for the okay to continue. She nods her head telling Gail that she's waiting.
"As you know I've been dating Holly for awhile now and I know how you don't approve of it, but it is happening and she's never going to go away." Gail starts.
"I still don't understand why." Her mom says as she has no expression on her face.
Gail just shakes her head before continuing. "Anyways what I wanted to tell you was that I'm going to ask her to marry me." Gail says looking up at her mom before continuing.
"What! No! Look, dating a women is one thing, but marrying one is unacceptable." Elaine yells finally showing emotion letting her daughter know she is unhappy.
"You can think whatever you want but I'm going to ask her. I thought I would tell you now so that you wouldn't over react later. If you don't want anything to do with it then fine. I've been fine living my life without you." Gail says knowing that her mom was going to react this way but hoping she wouldn't.
"I'm just going to say one thing, is that if you marry her then don't come by here when it all goes wrong." Elaine sternly says with a harsh tone.
"You know what I don't understand is that you never wanted to get to know her. There is a whole other part of my life that you will never know because you believe it's wrong for me to love Holly. I'll make it easy for you. You don't have to acknowledge me as your daughter don't worry about that." Gail says holding back tears as she heads out the front door.
As she makes her way to her car she hears her name. "Gail."
She pauses wiping at her eyes before turning around. "Hey dad, if you are coming out here to give me a speech, save it." Gail tries to stand brave but can't take much more.
"I'm not." her dad says quickly.
"Then what do you want. I would figure you would be in with your wife."
"Gail I don't agree with what your mother is doing." Gail's father says as he steps closer.
"Then why didn't you say anything?" Gail asks shaking her head.
"I did. After you left that night after dinner I talked with her but I'm kind of stuck between you two. I don't want to lose you as a daughter and I want to get to know Holly better." Gail's father tries to explain.
"Why haven't you said anything sooner than this." Gail questions.
"I don't know honestly, but after I overheard you telling your mother that you want to marry Holly, I started to realize I need to get to know her." Her father says sincerely.
"Do you mean that dad?" Gail wonders hoping that at least one of her parents cares.
Her dad steps closer and wraps Gail into a hug. "I do. Maybe I can come by and all three of us can have dinner." Bill says as he pulls back from his daughter.
"Yeah, I'll talk with Holly and set up a time." Gail says putting her hands in her pockets.
"Whenever works Gail, just know that I love you and you seem happy which is all that matters." Her father smiles.
"Thanks dad." Gail says looking at her father with tears. "Well I'm going to get going."
"Alright I'll be waiting for that dinner date." Her father smiles as he goes back inside.
Gail gets back to her apartment with Holly and gets cleaned up. She doesn't want Holly to see that she has been crying.
After getting cleaned up she goes to call Steve.
"Hello?" Steve answers.
"Hey Steve." Gail says into the phone as she sniffles.
"You okay? Did you go see mom?" Steve asks knowing that Gail had this planned out.
"Yeah I did. Mom reacted the way I assumed she would, but dad surprised me." Gail says as she goes to sit on the couch.
"What did dad say?" Steve wonders hoping that it was positive.
"He said he was supportive of it and he wanted to have dinner with Holly and I sometime soon."
"That's good Gail. That's a start, maybe mom will come around."
"At this point Steve I don't really care what mom thinks. She doesn't matter to me anymore." Gail says understanding that her mom isn't going to come around.
"We'll you know Traci and I are always here for you." Steve says sincerely.
"I know and I really appreciate that. I was actually calling to see if you have everything together for this weekend?" Gail asks getting to the reason why she called.
"Yeah I have it all. Is the plan still the same, where you take Holly out while Traci and I set everything up?" Steve wants to make sure he doesn't screw this up.
"Yes the plan's the same. Just text me when you have everything together." Gail says as she thinks about Holly.
"Okay I can do that. This is a great idea Gail, and Holly will love it."
"Thanks Steve. I'm hanging up now because Holly should be home soon."
"Alright Gail I'll talk to you later." Steve says as they both hang up.
Gail decided to order pizza for dinner since she doesn't cook much and she definitely didn't feel like cooking tonight. Soon Holly gets home from work excited to see Gail.
"Hey babe." Gail says as she sees Holly walk in with her bags.
"Hey honey." Holly smiles as she sets her bags down to give Gail a kiss.
"How was work?" Gail asks pulling away from Holly.
"Same old, same old. I'm catching up on everything which is nice." Holly starts to say.
"Well I ordered pizza and it should be here soon. I figured you would be hungry after working all day."
"That sounds awesome. Thanks for ordering it ahead of time." Holly says to Gail as she goes to sit on the couch.
"Of course." Gail says walking towards Holly.
Gail sits next to Holly and lifts her hand up for Holly to lean into her. Holly scoots closer towards Gail and lays her head on her chest.
"How was your day? Did you have lunch with Dov?" Holy asks curious to what Gail did today.
Gail doesn't want to tell Holly about her mom so she doesn't mention her.
"Actually I went to see my dad."
Holly lifts her head and focuses more on Gail.
"How did that go?" Holly asks sincerely knowing that their relationship is the reason why her parents aren't talking with her.
"My dad actually wants to have dinner with us sometime. He said he wants to get to know you better." Gail gets out.
"Wow. Really? What did you say?" Holly asks still curious on Gail's conversation with her dad.
"I told him I would talk with you first. " Gail says to Holly brushing the hair out of her face.
"This sounds like a good opportunity for him to get to know me a little better." Holly smiles knowing that this is good.
"Okay I'll call him sometime in the next couple of days and set it up." Gail says as she hears the doorbell.
After she gets the pizza she sets it on the kitchen table for Holly and herself.
"So you work tomorrow right?" Holly asks as she takes a slice of pizza.
"Yep, I work until Friday then I'm off for the weekend. Which I was thinking maybe we should do something." Gail suggests.
"Okay like what?" Holly asks.
"I don't know. Just go out. We haven't really had time for just us with moving and helping with Ashley. Which don't get me wrong, I love spending time with her, but we need a weekend." Gail smiles.
"Yeah I know what you mean. Whatever is fine Gail since we both have the weekend off finally together." Holly says as she continues to eat.
"We'll have fun."
"We always do." Holly smiles finishing up her dinner.
They continue to work for the next couple of days before the weekend comes.
"Hey Holly you ready to go?" Gail asks as she goes into their bedroom.
"Yes, just give me one more minute honey." Holly tries to finish getting dressed quickly.
Steve and Traci are going to set everything up for Gail once she gets Holly out of the house.
Gail texts Steve letting him know that they are getting ready to leave and to come in about 20 minutes.
"Okay I'm ready" Holly says coming out of the bedroom seeing Gail texting someone.
"Telling your mom where we are going?" Holly jokes as she sees Gail quickly put her phone away.
"Oh no. Just Steve wanting me to come to this family thing they are having." Gail says as she grabs her coat and Holly's before opening the door.
"You ready for a night out?" Gail asks changing the subject.
"Anywhere with you is always a good time." Holly smiles kissing Gail before heading to the car.
Gail opens the passenger door for Holly as she gets in then shuts the door. She makes her way to the driver's side to start the car.
"So we are going to that store that you like down the street with all that house decorating stuff that you want." Gail starts to say as she pulls out of the parking garage.
"Really? Every time I want to go there you always avoid answering." Holly looks to Gail confused but happy that she actually wants to go.
"I thought I've said no enough so I wanted to see why you loved it so much." Gail looks to Holly then back to the road.
"This is exciting! I've been wanting you to help me decorate the apartment and now we can!" Holly smiles widely.
"It's just a store Holly." Gail says wondering why Holly is so happy.
Holly turns to Gail taking her hand. "It is, but this time you are coming in with me even though I know you hate this kind of stuff." Holly says caressing Gail's hand before intertwining their fingers all the way to the store.
After shopping for an hour Gail feels her phone vibrate in her pocket. She takes it out while Holly is looking at a picture and sees it's a text from Steve.
"Hey Holly I'm going to go to the restroom real quick and then I'll be back." Gail says not waiting for a response as she heads to the back of the store to get her phone out.
She calls Steve who answers after the first ring.
"Hey Gail." Steve says into the phone.
"Is everything ready?" Gail asks quickly.
"Yes we just finished with it. This was a good idea Gail, but just wanted you to know it's safe to head back." Steve says to Gail.
"Thanks Steve we will finish up here then head back. I'll see you soon." Gail hangs up and heads back to Holly.
"You okay?" Holly asks Gail seeing her look a little nervous.
"What? Oh yeah, I'm fine." Gail gives a half smile.
"You about ready? I think we've picked out enough for one day." Gail says smiling looking at the basket full of items that Gail could care less about but knows Holly loves it.
"Yeah we can go, I'm surprised you lasted this long actually." Holly starts to head to the checkout with Gail right by her side.
"Well you were having so much fun who was I to stop you." Gail starts putting everything on the counter.
Once they are finished paying they head back to their car and to the apartment. When they get there Holly and Gail set everything in their apartment in the living room to go through later.
"This was a good trip, we got a lot of items to put up to make this apartment look more like home." Holly says as she goes to sit on the couch.
"We do." Gail says thinking of what to say next.
"Holly?" Gail says nervously.
"Yes." Holly looks to Gail standing in front of her.
"I wanted to show you something." Gail says as she looks to Holly who wonders what's going on.
"Ookay." Holly says taking Gail's hand that's held out for her.
"What do you want to show me?" Holly asks as she follows behind Gail out of the apartment.
"Just trust me." Gail says smiling as she starts walking up the stairs to the terrace on the top of their apartment.
