A Simple Daydream
Last time…
I didn't say anything, only glared at the spot where I saw the blur.
"….Meh. Let's go." I said finally, walking forward again.
Really, though. Who was that blur?
Continuing on…
Later, we all piled into Tsuna-san's room, feeling quite squished.
"I feel like we should dog pile someone."
"Nah, I don't feel like being the squisher or squishee, Mys."
"Aww…"
"What are we all doing here anyways?" I asked. "Is there something we need to do?"
"Have you told Akiko about the new addition to the group?" Reborn-san asked, popping in all of a sudden. I felt like yelping, but kept it down because then my throat would hurt.
"Not yet…" I said thoughtfully.
"You never told me what happened!" Suzuki-san said. "I was trying not to bother you because of your headache but I really want to know!"
"Okay. So remember the student today? The one that Mys dragged away from class?" Suzuki-san nodded quickly. "The reason I blacked out was because of him. I gave him the Mist ring, so he's the Mist Guardian."
"He doesn't seem like Mist though…" I thought. Then I flinched. "Shoot! I didn't…!"
I was starting to miss Mist's and Sun's voices. For some reason, Storm and Rain wouldn't talk to me anymore, Cloud wasn't even there as usual, Sky was off doing something as usual too, and Thunder didn't even explain why Storm and Rain had left. She only seemed to give me the impression that I'd done something tragic. But what did I…?
"And this ends today's meeting." Reborn-san's voice cut into my thoughts. "Is that alright, Jenna?"
"Hmm?" I said, clearly looking out of it.
"We're just going to try and look for the other guardians as usual." Mys answered. "You're sure you're fine?"
"Yeah, perfectly fine." I said distractedly. "I'm going outside for a bit."
"I'll walk out with you!" Suzuki-san said, standing up. "I have to go home anyways."
We went through the house together, down the hall and the squeaky stairs, to the front door. I tried thinking of a million excuses to take back the ring, but I couldn't find a single ounce of will to say any. It seemed wrong to take back something I'd freely given, even though I desperately needed the Sun ring back. Wait, desperately…?
Maybe I was possessive, but I wanted to hear Sun's loud excited voice and Mist's sly but quiet tone.
I sighed inwardly and slipped out the door, waving bye to Suzuki-san as she went the opposite way.
I started walking, the cold air giving me a boost. I slapped myself, shaking my head as the pain sparked.
"Stupid idiot! You should have already left those feelings behind!" I said to myself. I looked sideways guiltily, as if someone was there. I remembered the twinges of unease when I met the other students. I sighed with sense of finality.
"No. It won't ever go away." I murmured.
"What won't?" Vixen's voice asked me as I spun around. Vixen stood there, in the twilight, looking very peeved. "Why haven't you been walking around more?"
"I have."
"By yourself, dummy!" Vixen scoffed. "Really! Do you want me telling the others what you look like?"
"So you haven't!" I said, relieved. "Thanks for not telling them!"
Vixen stared at me. "Even though I'm holding that info to threaten you?"
I shrugged. "I really don't want to be challenged, but I'll beat them all up if I have to."
Vixen stared me down. Her eyes, a questioning glare. Mine, simply easy-going and faking happiness.
Vixen scoffed and turned to leave.
"Come to the same alley as last time! I'll settle if you're fit to become boss of the Red Dragons." Vixen called back.
"Will do!" I said, saluting with a smile. As soon as Vixen turned the corner, my smile dropped and my eyes looked to the ground tiredly. "Ah, let the cold air rush through this empty soul of mine…"
I continued walking through town, looking to the right, left, back, and front of me warily. Maybe I am paranoid, but paranoid is what I need right now. I'd rather it wasn't though...
I returned to the Sawada Household, shivering as the wind started cutting through my jacket frostily.
"Oh? You got back sooner than I thought." Mys said, looking up. "I almost thought you'd skip dinner."
I sat down at the coffee table, where Mys was doing her homework.
"Nah. Dinner actually tastes good." I said, waving my hand. "Plus, I don't have to make it."
Mys sighed. "The food you make is always so… normal. It's so normal, it makes me forget what it tastes like and disappoints me each time."
"Yeah, yeah, Miss. Critic. You take what you get." I said. "Now finish your homework."
"Just saying." Mys said, shrugging.
"Where's Tsuna-san anyways?" I asked. "I didn't see him when I came in."
"Went to go get some groceries." Mys answered. The answer pretty much answered my other questions, which told me that there were no ingredients for dinner and either Reborn or Nana-san had sent him out. If it was Reborn… Well, surprises are plentiful these days. Though, the mafia boss could surely handle whatever happened. Possibly.
It wasn't too long before Tsuna-san came back.
*Bam!* Tsuna-san shot through the door and flopped onto his bed.
"Dogs! Dogs, everywhere!" Tsuna-san whimpered.
Yep. He is soooo totally the boss of the freaking mafia.
Dogs are cute. But not when they're chasing you. It's kinda scary when they bark all of a sudden too... Maybe dogs aren't that cute.
Thanks especially to Kaizuka-Michiko for reviewing! YAY!
Mys: That's great and all, but why didn't you say it sooner?
Me: I was hoping for one more review, but then it got all the way here!
Mys: Next time. Just do it.
Me: Yeah, I know.
Mys: So... Dogs? Really?
Me: Why not? A mafia boss can be scared of dogs too, ya know!
Mys: Does Reborn have a part in "that"? *Waves arm to signify Tsuna's whimpering*
Me: Yup! He's the reason he even met up with those dogs!
Mys: ...Too long! This author's note is too long!
Me: Posh! It's just-!"
Mys: Please review, favorite, and follow this story if you like it! *Pulls the curtain close*
Me: Don't just cut me off-!
(You really think Mys and Jenna are interesting OCs? Thanks! At the moment, I'd like Mys to be funny and a bit energetic while Jenna is... Jenna? Not too sure how I want everyone to see her...)
Disclaimer: I don't own KHR! Boo.
