Hello!

Thank you for the reviews! Especially to Maya, Helen and Yessikg. Thank you too for the alerts and favourites! =D

In this one we're going to have some surprises! (Well, maybe not, but...)

What was Morgana asking to the king?

Enjoy it...

"What Merlin said?" He asked, looking at her, desperately trying to change the topic. Not only because he didn't know how long he could keep saying no to Morgana, but because he was truly worried about her health.

"He said he doesn't know exactly what it is." She answered, noticing the sight she had last night was happening. "Maybe Gaius can tell us..."

Her heart beat so fast when he walked quickly to her bed, sitting and holding her arms. The tension between them was palpable. He was so angry and hot! She wished to kiss him.

"Listen to me well, Morgana! I want you to know I'm just doing this because I honour the promise I've done to your father." He said very angry. "Nothing more than that! I'm a man who fulfils his promises."

"So fulfil the one you made to me. Be by my side, I know you want this as much as me. Help me with my magic, it's so difficult to deal with it alone..." She begged.

"What are you asking me, Morgana?"

Chapter 20

He was angry, but the lady kept herself calm and confident. Be yourself. Be sweet to him. The dragon had said it.

"Love me, Uther." She asked and saw his eyes getting darker and sweeter.

That was torture! How could he even consider resisting her? His hand came to cup Morgana's cheek, making the lady sigh. His head was coming nearer and nearer... his gaze locked at her mouth... his other hand caressing hers gently... their lips barely touched. That was when someone knocked. If it was Arthur there outside he would...

"Gaius!" Uther said getting up quickly when the man entered, followed by Merlin.

"Have you requested my services, sir?" Gaius asked as if nothing had happened involving he being in the dungeons.

"Yes, I had, Gaius." Was the king awkward? Interesting... "I'm so sorry, Gaius. I shouldn't have reacted like that; I know you only taught Morgana magic to make her deal better with her dreams."

"Sights." Morgana corrected him calmly.

"Yes, sights." Uther agreed. What...? Was he finally accepting the fact she's a witch? "Can you forgive me, Gaius?"

"Of course I can, my lord. However I have to say I'm not the one for whom you should apologize..." The elder man looked at Morgana. Merlin had told him how much the poor lady was suffering with Uther's rejection. And that was comprehensible, he was her guardian, and they're so close to each other...

"Merlin." The king ignored Gaius comment. "I think you'll be a great physician some day. You were really doing it well. But Gaius is more experienced, and I think you've said you had to learn more..."

"Great!" He was sincerely happy "So I'm not the physician anymore?" The boy was excited.

"Continue learning well with Gaius and some day you'll be a great one." Uther answered. The king looked so calm! What has Morgana done to him?

Gaius walked to Morgana's bed. The lady was pale and looked like she has recently passed by difficult moments.

"May I see my patient now, sir?" Gaius asked

"Of course, Gaius. I'll be outside." The king left.

"So, Morgana? What happened to you, child?" Gaius asked as the king closed the door.

"I... I fainted." She said low, looking at her hands. "I don't know what's happening to me, Gaius!" She looked at him now. "I faint every time I have a sight... I'm beginning to think I preferred the nightmares!"

"The logical explanation to your faints during your sights is that your energy level is low. So when you have a sight the energy is used and so you faint." Merlin concluded, receiving a surprised gaze from Gaius.

"Very well, Merlin!" The physician greeted him. "But why would your energy level be so low, Morgana?"

"I don't know, Gaius." She sighed.

"Have something unusual happened to you, my child?" The elder man continued investigating her symptoms.

"Uther is being so cold to me, Gaius." She was apathetic. She feared that if she let her emotions come, she would cry again. "I don't understand him! He knows I have magic and he saw what happened to the men who fought against the sorcerer... but he's so stubborn, Gaius!"

"Well, he's combated magic about half of his life, Morgana... He really needs some time to think well and reconsider his opinions about this topic." Gaius said wisely.

"Oh, and my magic!" She remembered about it. "Look what happened!" She made the sparks. "Sometimes it works, but today when I tried to kill the sorcerer all that happened was this! See?" She made the sparks again.

"Morgana, you did what?" Gaius couldn't believe!

"Colourful sparks!" Merlin said, receiving an impatient gaze from Gaius.

"I know I shouldn't, but... He's going to kill Uther! I... I can't lose him! Last night I went to the tavern to kill the sorcerer, but..." She stopped talking, lost in memories.

"Does Uther know you went to the tavern to kill a man?" Gaius asked very shocked.

"No." Morgana didn't dare looking at them.

"Had the man hurt you?"

"No, Merlin saved me just before he could... do something worse..."

Gaius sighed. Poor Morgana! She was so desperate about losing her guardian that the physician was already worried about her reaction if the king really dies...

"Fainting, problems with your magic, concerns about Uther's reaction and about your sights... Is there something else, Morgana?"

"She felt sick in the morning, Gaius." The boy promptly received the physician's attention. "I gave her dill and mint."

"Good." Gaius approved him. "Your clinical reasoning was correct if it were an ordinary sickness, Merlin. It's clear that her energy is being used very intensely... Now let us examine you, Morgana, so we can discover why your energy is running out so quickly."

Uther was alone, pacing in front of his ward's chambers. Occasionally a guard passes near him. The castle was full of them because of the championship.

Why was Gaius taking so long to examine Morgana? The king sighed and continued pacing... What else could he do?

Arthur was right. He really loves Morgana... her dark hair, her porcelain skin, her eyes so bright and sweet... Oh, and her fiery personality, all the passion she doesn't think twice to show, the way she always says so sincerely what she thinks or feels... No, he doesn't have a life! Not without Morgana. He wanted to enter her chambers, kiss her and say he's completely in love and nothing could change that. But... but she has magic and he was King Uther, known by his combat against sorcery. How could it work? Should he really change that old law?

"So, Gaius, what is it?" The lady asked, noticing he and Merlin exchanged a worried look.

"Morgana, my child, I need to ask you some... hum... some unusual questions and I need you to be very sincere in your answers." Gaius asked her.

"Of course, Gaius. You can ask me whatever you need to know."

"Very well." The physician sighed. "Have you ever been with a man?" He asked. "In a very intimate way, I mean..." He added, making Merlin smirk.

"Oh... I... hum... Yes, Gaius, I have." She blushed.

Gaius expected that answer, but even so, he was a bit shocked. Merlin couldn't deny it was so weird hearing her talk about that kind of thing... but what he thought Morgana and Uther do all the times he comes to visit her in her chambers or he invites her for a ride? Play chess? Surely not!

"I see..." Gaius continued. The physician gave her some moments to the lady get more comfortable about their talking. "And how is your period?"

"My period... it's late! It always uses to come during the new moon... but this time it's a bit late." She explained. Only now she noticed that! With everything that was happening, the last thing she was worried about was her period... "Oh, Gaius! You don't mean I'm..."

"Yes, Morgana... you're pregnant." Gaius said carefully.

"I... I'm going to have... a baby..." She was absorbing that piece of information, touching her belly.

"What? Morgana! How did it happen?" Merlin was so shocked! Morgana will have a baby!

"Oh, Merlin, are you sure I have to tell you about how this kind of thing happens?" Gaius teased him. Suddenly he took a precipitated conclusion... "Merlin! What have you done to her?"

"No, no, Gaius I..." What he meant? The boy was as surprised as Gaius! Merlin avoided Gaius' slap by running around Morgana's bed.

"Your irresponsible brat!" Gaius was mad!

"Stop it please!" Morgana asked. "I'm feeling dizzy with so much movement..."

"Oh, I'm sorry Morgana!" Merlin went to hold his friend's hand.

"Morgana..." Gaius said very carefully. "Please, tell me it is not Merlin's!"

"Of course it's not Merlin's!" She said, don't noticing the mock expression of outrage Merlin had. The physician, however, sighed in relieve... but for few time... "It's Uther's." The lady said dreamily. She wasn't alone anymore. A part of Uther would be always with her!

"What had he done to you?" Gaius was even more shocked. "You're a child, Morgana! He couldn't have done this..." The physician was going to the door. Probably to talk to the king...

"No, Gaius! Wait!" Morgana screamed, making the man stop and look at her. She was talking in that powerful way. Merlin was mesmerized by how she can sound like that even being so vulnerable in her bed. "I'm not a child anymore, I'm a grown up woman." Yes, Gaius had to agree. "I... I wanted Uther to... hum... to do this to me." She blushed a little bit, but continued even so. "I love him, Gaius." She confessed. "I truly love him."

A heavy silence felt over the chambers. Suddenly some things the dragon had said beginning to make sense... However, Gaius wondered what could happen if the king really dies, leaving Morgana alone with her child.

"You know he needs to know about it." Gaius said. "Sooner or later he will know it. And if I can give you an opinion, earlier the king knows about it, fewer problems you'll have..."

"I understand, Gaius... I intend to tell him soon. But please, not now." The lady begged. "Give me a time to think about it." She said calmly now. "And... hum... I'd like to tell him about our child privately..." She blushed furiously, making Merlin smirk again imagining how would be that private talking...

The physician accepted it. If she wanted to be with Uther like that, and considering she has reacted well to the fact she's pregnant, so it's comprehensible she wants to tell him alone. The physician sighed. Yes, Morgana was an adult woman.

"You're going to have a baby!" Merlin was by her side, fascinated now. "May... may I touch it?" He asked with a big smile, his hand near of her belly.

"Sure!" She smiled back to him and put the blankets away, feeling his careful touch. "It's so small..." Morgana commented dreamily.

"It's going to grow..." Merlin said softly. "And then you're going to have a lovely baby!"

"Oh!" Realization came to her. "What if... what if Uther doesn't love me? And our child?"

"Of course he loves you, Morgana. How couldn't he?" Merlin looked into her eyes. "And he'll love your child as well..."

"But Merlin, what if..."

"If he doesn't you won't be alone, Morgana." Merlin interrupted her very patiently. "You still will have me... oh, and Gaius... and Gwen and Arthur, of course! We're your friends. We're going to help you with anything you need." He said with a big smile.

Gaius watched them very touched. His boy was growing up too... and he would be a great man!

Gaius' chambers were almost silent now. When Arthur and Gwen have finally arrived there with Kevin, the boy has practically run to his father, who was still unconscious. He refused when Gwen offered to prepare him some food or to give him some water. The little boy lay beside his father, embracing and caressing him until sleep reached him.

"Gaius and Merlin are taking so long..." Gwen pointed sat beside Arthur, who was embracing her kindly.

They have brought two chairs near of the window, not only to look the beautiful sky full of stars, but also because there was a body on the table, covered by a white sheet. The body of the man who died and that Merlin wanted to study.

"I think they have lots of things to talk to Morgana... and also to my father, he just can't treat her like that!" He said.

They stood some more instants sat there, looking at the stars. The physician's chambers were almost dark, there were just some few candles illuminating the room.

"Guinevere!" Something occurred to the prince. "I think I know something to make us enjoy this wait a lot..." His voice was mischievous, his mouth found her collarbone. First he kissed it then, when he heard Gwen moaning, he started sucking softly to tease her.

The girl smiled and her arms went to embrace his neck, keeping the prince near. His hand touched her thigh, caressing it in a way he had never done to her before. So... so hot and hungry!

"No, Arthur, not now..." Gwen whispered.

"Why not?" His mouth was still in her collarbone. Arthur was glad to notice the words against her skin caused her to gasp.

"The boy..."

"He's so tired that I bet he won't awake before noon!" Arthur answered never pulling away.

The way he was teasing her, the heat of his body so near her and his arms holding her so hardly made Gwen feel so hot, as if there was fire inside of her body! When she noticed, she has already gone to his lap and brought Arthur's head up, so they were kissing very hard, his hands passing by her body with so much desire...

"You're right, Guinevere. We should stop..." Arthur whispered after they pulled away for air. Gwen gave him a look of protest... she was so naïve! "I need you so much! Maybe I can't stop..."

"I think... I don't want you to stop, Arthur." She said in a very shy way, blushing furiously. Arthur smiled at that.

"Well... If you're sure about that, so we can continue it later, in my chambers... I really don't want to awake the boy or even the dead man!"

Gwen smiled and gave him a chaste kiss, so she went back to her chair. They keep looking the stars, still holding each other's hand. However, the prince was constantly giving her a promising glance...

"But Gaius, I can't understand!" Merlin said still beside Morgana, who was in her bed caressing her belly now. "Morgana is pregnant, so it explains why her sights cause her to faint. Because the baby needs her energy to grow up..." Gaius nodded. "But what about her sickness?"

"Merlin..." Morgana couldn't believe how naïve her friend was! "Pregnant women use to get sick." Gaius smiled at her comment.

"I know that." He looked at his friend patiently. "But as we could see, your pregnancy is in the very beginning. You should have the initial signs of it in some more weeks."

Gaius was surprised! Merlin was so more mature, he has even studied about herbs and anatomy, as the elder man could notice!

"You're right, Merlin." Gaius was proud of his pupil. Morgana, however, was worried. What was wrong with her baby? "It only can mean one thing."

"Gaius, is my baby fine?"

"Yes, of course, Morgana." Gaius smiled. "Your sickness only means that your baby needs more energy than usual, and it makes you weak."

"Why my baby needs so much energy?" The girl was curious.

"Because your child will have magic." Merlin concluded, receiving another proud gaze from Gaius.

"Oh... a baby... with magic... just like me!" She was so touched.

"That means we have to practice your magic, so you won't feel so exhausted." Gaius recommended.

"But Gaius, if you teach me magic again Uther is going to..."

"Uther can't do anything against you or his own child, Morgana." Merlin interrupted her. "About me and Gaius... well... we can take care of ourselves!"

Morgana sighed.

"So we're going to have more magic lessons in secret." The lady concluded.

"You're going to have magic lessons, my child, but not in secret." Gaius said very confidently. "It's time to have a very serious conversation with our king! Merlin, please, go to the king's chambers and ask him to came here so we can talk."

Was Gaius insane?

"No, Gaius! He's going to arrest you again! And I'm not ready to have another conversation with him today! I... I can't hear again that he doesn't love me, even if it isn't serious!" The lady protested and tried to get up, but Merlin kept her in her bed again.

"No, no! Stay on your bed, Morgana." Said the boy. "We're going to be with you. And we won't tell him about the baby, right Gaius?"

"Sure!" The physician nodded, very surprised to notice Morgana was so desperate for the king's love. "But we need to inform him about your health, Morgana. He was really worried about you."

"Really worried..." Merlin smirked.

"All right." The lady agreed. As if she had a choice...

Merlin walked to the door, he was going to call Uther. But what a surprise! The king was still there! Pacing in front of his ward's chambers! And looking really worried...

"My lord..."

"Yes, Merlin! How is she?" Uther asked almost desperately... and the man pretends he doesn't love her! Merlin smirked.

"She's better now, sir. Gaius asked you to enter, so all of us can talk."

The king nodded and followed Merlin to Morgana's chambers. He was glad to notice that she looked calmer and kind of hopeful. However, concern was clear in her eyes too.

"Uther!" Merlin saw her eyes bright when the king entered.

"Morgana! It's good to see you're better." He went to her and kissed her hand softly, her voice echoing in his mind: "love me, Uther."

Now he knew about Morgana and Uther, Gaius thought their relationship was obvious to notice when they're together. All that times Merlin joked about it... the boy was right!

They were looking at each other in such an intense and intimate way that Merlin was feeling awkward to be there too...

"Sir..." Gaius interrupted their exchange of glances, receiving the king's attention. "We need to talk about Morgana's health."

"Yes, Gaius... please, tell me, what's wrong with her?" The king was so worried...

"Apart the fact she's very stressed..." Gaius noticed guilt in Uther's gaze. "Morgana needs to control her magic."

"Magic again?" The king screamed angrily. "You've called me here to talk about magic!"

"Indeed sir." Gaius answered so calmly that the king couldn't help but look shocked at the physician. "Lady Morgana really needs to control her magic."

"To be healthy, everything in a person needs to be working well." Merlin explained. "Not only the body, but the emotions, the mind..." The boy continued, giving some moments to the king absorb it. So Merlin received an encouraging nod from Gaius and continued his explanation. "When someone has magic, it's a part of this person. It means that if Morgana's magic is out of her control, she can't be healthy... I'm sure you remember her nightmares, sir..." The king was listening to him very carefully now. He has promised her to be by her side. "How desperate she was... and now her faints... Lady Morgana really needs to control her magic, if she doesn't, it will soon cause serious harm to her health, sir."

"Gaius, what...?" The king was angry, but also worried and surprised.

"Merlin is right, sir." Gaius said. "I've called you here to ask your permission to teach Morgana to control her magic."

Uther's heart is getting softer! Will he allow Gaius to do teach magic to Morgana? Or will he just threw the poor man in the dungeons again?

About the next chapter... Well, guys, next Friday I'm going to defence my PhD thesis. So I'll probably take some more days than usual to update, since I have to prepare my presentation and try not to be so scared! =O

However, here there is a little tease to you... Merlin will see a really embarrassing scene!
