Pretty much all of you guessed correctly, but LoveSparkle guessed it first :D So yes, Dak will be making another appearance pretty soon. I also see that alot of you are excited that Kames is finally happening! It'll be a little while before they're officially together, but there will be a few moments between them coming up that I'm pretty excited about. Anyway, I hope you all enjoy the new chapter!

Control

I couldn't help the way my heart was racing.

As soon as the last bell rang, I was out the door and heading to James' house. Although I knew that he was probably okay, I just didn't want to take any chances. I wanted to see with my own eyes that he was okay.

It took close to ten minutes for me to make it to James' house. Immediately noticing an unfamiliar car in the driveway parked right next to James'. I made my way up to his front door before ringing the doorbell, noticing the laughter coming from the other side of the door.

The door opened after a few seconds, revealing a happy James on the other side.

"Hey Kendall! Come on in." He said cheerfully, giving me a bright smile.

I just stared at him for a second before walking, immediately noticing how… happy he was. Come to think of it, I've never seen him this happy. Especially lately…

As I made my way into the living room, I came face to face with none other than Jett, who glanced up at me before immediately averting his eyes.

"Uh… h-hey Kendall." He said nervously, looking anywhere but at me.

I knew that he was probably afraid that I would snap at him or something, but Dak's words stopped me from doing that. Ever since my run in with him this morning, I had been thinking about Jett. Even though I still didn't quite trust him, I did believe that he was starting to change for the better.

"What are you doing here?" I asked calmly as James came up behind me.

"He's been here all day helping me with my powers." James said in that same cheerful tone.

And while I wanted to ask if he was okay, I found my attention drawn to Jett.

"Is that true?" I asked Jett, who still wouldn't look at me. I watched as he meekly nodded, which in turn made me let out a sigh.

"Can I talk to you for a minute? In private?" I asked Jett, looking between both Jett and James.

Jett nodded his head before quickly heading into the kitchen.

"Are you sure you're okay?" I asked suspiciously as I turned my attention back to James. I looked into his eyes, noticing how the hazel orbs now seemed a little brighter.

"I'm better than okay. I feel amazing! This is actually the best I've felt in a long time." He admitted, taking a few steps closer to me in the process. "And even though I'm still not quite sure what Jett did to help me out, I know I have you to thank for it." He said, throwing me for a loop in the process.

"Me? What are you talking about?" I asked, watching as his expression turned into one of confusion.

"You asked Jett to see if he could help with my powers didn't you?" He asked, that look of confusion never leaving his face.

"Oh! Yeah, I kinda forgot about that." I lied, hoping that he wouldn't see right through it.

He stared at me for a second before opening his mouth. I could tell by the look on his face that he didn't really believe me, so I spoke before he could say anything.

"I should go talk to Jett. He's probably wondering what's taking so long." I said before quickly making my way into the kitchen.

As soon as I walked in, I noticed how nervous Jett was. For a second, just for a second, I started to feel a little bad for the guy. But I quickly pushed the thought away, knowing that there were questions that I needed answered.

"What'd you do to James?" I asked, watching as he looked up at me in shock, just noticing that I was in the room.

"Honestly… I have no idea." He said, letting out a sigh before continuing. "I came over early this morning just to help him get his powers under control because I knew if you were around, you wouldn't let me anywhere near him. But when I got here, he just seemed so… scared. He kept trying to get me to leave, saying that he didn't want to hurt me."

I couldn't help but glance back at the door that led out to the living room, wondering what had happened in such a short time to cause such a drastic mood change.

"Anyway, I refused to leave. I suggested he calm down, and he did just that… he calmed down." He said, pausing to stare at me, probably trying to gauge my reaction.

"So… what you're saying is, you just told James to calm down. And he did it?" I asked incredulously, a million questions running through my head.

"Yeah. And it gets crazier. I told him that he had control over his powers. That if he focused, he would have his powers mastered in no time. And now, he has his powers almost mastered."

Okay… something definitely wrong there.

"And you don't see anything wrong with that? Anything at all?!" I exclaimed, knowing that something wasn't right here.

"Of course there's something wrong! But the way I see it, it helped James. So I don't really consider it a problem." He said, finally seeming to gain the confidence that he had been severely lacking lately. That's when another question came to mind.

"Why did you tell James that I was the one that asked you to help him?" I asked, watching as Jett's expression changed yet again.

"Because I know how much you care about him. I just thought that maybe I could give you an edge." He admitted, even though I could tell just by looking at him that it hurt him to know how much I cared about James.

"So what, you just say the word and James does whatever you say now?" I asked, the words coming out more bitter than I intended them to.

"I don't know. I haven't really thought about it." He said before suddenly standing up. "Only one way to find out."

With that he made his way into the living room, with me following close behind, wanting to see what he was planning to do.

As we stepped into the living room, I couldn't help but look over at James, who was now holding what looked like a ball of energy in his hands.

'I guess Jett wasn't lying when he said that James was better with his powers.' I thought to myself.

"Um… Is everything alright?" James asked, letting the energy ball fade away as Jett made his way over to him.

"Kiss me." Jett said bluntly, staring at James to wait for his reaction.

As soon as those two words left his mouth I immediately felt something alot like jealousy and anger within me as I turned my attention to the actor. What kind of game was he playing here?!

But as much jealousy and anger I felt towards Jett right now, I found myself looking over at James, wanting so see what his reaction was as well while silently hoping that he wouldn't feel compelled to do it.

After what felt like forever, James finally got over the initial shock and took a couple steps away from Jett.

"Why would I do that?" James asked, making me let out a sigh of relief.

"What's going on?" James asked, suddenly turning his attention to me, sending a suspicious look towards me like I had something to do with this.

"Nothing. I just wanted to prove something to Kendall." Jett said casually.

"Actually," I cut in before Jett could say anything else. "Jett was just getting ready to leave. Right Jett?" I asked before giving him a look, daring him to say something.

"Right." He said, giving me a look before turning back to James. "I'll see you later. Okay?" He asked, to which James just nodded his head, still looking a little suspicious.

"I'll walk you out." I said suddenly, grabbing Jett by his arm and dragging him out of the house.

"See. You have nothing to worry about." He said in a tired voice as soon as we were away from James. I knew that he was probably tired of talking about James knowing my feeling for the brunet, but I was honestly too pissed to care right now.

"You're an ass you know that?! What would have happened if he had kissed you?!" I asked, glaring at the actor in the process.

"Then he would've kissed me and I would've prepared myself because I know you would probably have murdered me." He said with a shrug of his shoulders.

I knew that he was right about the whole murdering him thing because I was trying really hard not to do it right now. But I slowly found myself calming down.

"Look, I know you still probably don't trust me, and I don't blame you." He said before pausing, probably expecting me to say something, but I just stayed silent. "I know that I've said this a few times now, but I'll do anything to earn your trust back. And even though you love James, I'd really like it if we could eventually get back to being friends." He said before turning around, leaving before I could say anything else.

"Hey, everything okay?" James asked as he came up behind me.

"Yeah, everything's fine." I said, my eyes never leaving the spot where Jett stood just seconds ago.

Done! So quite a bit happened this chapter, and I can tell you that the remainder of the story is going to get a little crazy and confusing, but it should all make sense in the end. Right now, I see this story being about 30 chapters at the most. I also plan to leave the story open to a sequel if you all want one

So what'd you all think? I really love reading your thoughts and guesses as to what'll happen next so please keep them coming!

I've already started the next chapter of this so hopefully I'll have it up soon. Last chapter got 9 reviews, so do you think this chapter can get 10? ;) Until next time!
