Chapter 16: Too Confident, Too Feisty
A/N: Yay I finally did it! *high fives self* Thank you guys so much for being patient. However, I do have to have a serious talk with you at the end of the chapter. o-o WE'RE NOT BREAKING UP, I SWEAR! But bear with me (yes I used the right "bear.") Don't think about that now, though! Enjoy the chapter that I literally sweat and bled for while writing this! …I cut myself in the shower with the razor whoops…
Sigh I'll stop rambling now… enjoy!
Try to guess by the title who the new characters are ;)
There is such thing as an epic battle, which is what this little fight could actually be described as. If you picture it, an outgoing war between a talented sword master and the Devil—it seems like the Devil would win but they seem evenly matched.
However…
There is such thing as an epic battle that needs to end. As Kirito and Rin release their anger into their swords, three hours have passed. School is almost over for the rest of the students in DWMA, and Black Star and Soul are completely pissed at this.
"Stein I want to go home!" the bluenette whines, kicking his legs as he rolls on the floor. Soul isn't willing to go to the measures that his best friend is, but he certainly does have a large scowl on his face. Liz, Honey, and Patty have fallen asleep against the wall with Mori watching over them, Haruhi and Tamaki are asking Tsubaki how she puts up with Black Star, Soul is threatening to pick a fight with Natsu and Gray, and Maka is silently standing next to Kyoya.
Even she lets out a yawn.
Maka acknowledges the third son with a small wave, but he decides to ignore her and keep piling together numbers of Death knows what. Yet, she still decides to bother him. "So, uh… how come you didn't pick out a weapon?"
"I rather not."
"Cool, cool."
She places her finger tips together and rocks her heels back and forth, completely unaware what to do about the awkward situation. "Look, Maka, how about you go cheer up Kid? He looks utterly depressed and it's honestly distracting me from my work." The mentioned boy raises an eyebrow at Kyoya, who simply smiles. "You know you guys get shipped together sometimes, so you might as well leave me alone."
"What are you—"
"Let me break the fourth wall in peace." He sighs and lowers his calculator for a second. "Let's talk some other time while we're waiting for a fight-to-the-death match to be over." As he grins at her, she feels her heart skip a beat and strolls over to Kid.
And then she growls for falling for his Host Club charm.
"Hey Kid, how're you holding up?"
"Leave me alone, Maka."
"If you let me talk to you, I'll let you pluck my eyebrows so they're symmetrical." The reaper thinks about it for a second, before he silently nods. Maka sits down next to him and puts a hand on his shoulder. "Is Hikaru still bugging you?"
He sighs. "No, I'm kind of ignoring him… I know sometimes people can't tolerate me because of what I say and do, but damn, he didn't have to be so scurrilous." Kid starts to run his fingers through his hair, but recoils at the thought of asymmetry and pulls them out. "I'm not looking forward to others who might say things like that too."
"Then don't." Kid lifts his head up as Hikaru walks over and slowly sits down in front of him. "Don't look forward to what others might say, because you're not even going to listen to them. Because it doesn't. Matter." He clears his throat before continuing. "What I said was out of line, Kid. I'm sorry. I don't know what…" Hikaru glances at a piece of paper that Liz wrote on before she fell asleep. "…obsessive compulsive disorder is, nor did I know that you have it.
"But even so, that doesn't make up for what I said. Therefore I give you my sincerest apology." Hikaru closes his eyes in shame, but once again opening them when he feels a tap on his noise. Kid is holding his hand out while smiling, and Maka gives him a thumbs up. Hikaru grins as well and takes his hand, squeezing it before letting go.
"You may be an asshole sometimes, but you make up for it in some ways," the grim reaper chuckles. Hikaru slightly blushes, taking it another way, causing Kid to blush as well. "Well, now that that's settled, I think it's time that—"
"I WIN!" Rin claps for himself while cackling, sitting on top of Kirito's back, who's flat on the floor. "I have triumphed over Kirito! Be proud of me, Kaoru!" Kaoru slowly backs away from the front of the crowd.
"Yeah, you won. Because you punched me in the face." Maka takes notice of the blood dripping from the dual wielder's nose and facepalms. Kirito pushes Rin off of him and takes a deep breath. "That's my workout for the day."
"WELL MAKE ROOM FOR ROUND TWO!" a voice booms from down the hallway. Everyone's ears perk up; they rush outside the room to find a tall man and midget walking down the school. The tall man smiles widely and starts waving. "Helloooo meisters!"
"Not another Black Star…" Haruhi sighs.
Tsubaki taps her finger on her lips. "I don't know, he kind of seems like a Natsu!"
Gray's and Soul's eyes both wildly darken as they whisper to each other before shouting out: "BLACKSU!"
"That sounds really racist!" Patty exclaims. "Gee whiz, why didn't I come up with that?!"
"Yeah, I'm surprised Patty didn't come up with that first," Kaoru giggles.
Everyone begins to fight about how one another is stupid and not themselves. The tall man and midget have already made it to the other end of the hall in front of them, but the group is still arguing. The man taps his sword against the sword, patiently waiting, but the midget doesn't. "SHUT UP!" it screams, causing everyone to silent and face it. "What the hell is wrong with you?! Introduce me to everyone, now!"
The group eyes one another before Tamaki asks, "Hey girl… how tall are you?" And before he knows it he's knocked off his feet.
A/N: I'm such a dick for that cliffhanger, I know… XD
Anyways, it's time to have a chat. This story is kind of getting hard to write to. I do have ideas, but I just don't like it that much. HOWEVER, I will not be ending it. I don't want to disappoint all of you—I know how that feels. :( I will continue writing the story until I believe it's at a good ending point… it just won't be on a weekly basis. Probably completely random. But, random can ALSO mean weekly. It really depends how much school work I have.
I'm really sorry for the huge wait; thank you guys so much for your patience. I'll try as hard as I can to get another chapter up this weekend!
