A/N: Hi, sorry I have not updated in soo long. My computer got a virus and I lost the next few chapters that I already threw out the hard copies of. I will rewrite these chapters and then add in the new chapters I already wrote as soon as I can. I may change the titles and add more details at a later date. Right now I'm just trying to get the chapters posted as frequently as possible. Thank you so much for all your patience. Reviews are always appreciated. Chapter 21: I would take a whisper if that's all you had to give.

Loki spent the next few months in his chambers, the royal library and in the gardens with his mother. No one mentioned Midgard or Jotenheim. Most of the people ignored him, it seemed like nothing had ever changed on Asgard. Loki had a feeling that this was due to Odin and his brother. Asgard may not have changed, but Loki still felt resentment towards Odin for not telling him the truth before. In contrast, Thor had been trying harder than ever to include Loki in everything he did, even if it nearly got him killed on several occasions. Sif was still bitter towards him but acted polite in Thor's presence. Hogun, Fandral and Volstage seemed to have accepted Loki as part of their group, though they were still wary of him. Loki felt that he could almost forget MIdgard and his mistakes, almost.

Alex still haunted his thoughts when he let them drift from the task at hand. His nightmares had disappeared but he began dreaming of nothing but her every night. His longing drove him to keep busy at every moment possible. Loki stayed up until the early morning, studying spells and assorted magics. He never wanted to feel helpless again and was sure the "Other" would make good on his threat the second he had the chance. Sleep came when he was too exhausted to fight it off and laid his head on his desk. Where Thor would find him and drag him to the dining hall for breakfast and more adventures.

One morning Loki woke to silence, curiosity compelled him to his feet, wondering why his brother hadn't stormed in and shaken him awake. Loki quickly changed, intent on avoiding his brother for the day and enjoying the small reprieve from training or going off to hunt. As soon as he cleaned up, Loki swiftly made his way to the north tower, sure that Thor would not think to check for him there. The tower had been abandoned since Loki was a child and designed in a time when his great grandfather had admired the stained glass from Midgardian churches.

Loki walked in, sliding the large wooden door shut behind him. Floor to cieling windows bathed the room in reds, golds and blues. Each of the 9 windows displayed a scene from each of the realms. A tenth window stood in an arch, standing sentry in the middle of the room. It depicted a large tree with Golden apples and many roots. Below the roots was Hel as she had looked when Loki has last seen her. She was still beautiful in his eyes, even the half of her that was touched by death . Above the tree was a golden hall. "Valhalla" Loki named it aloud. A thought flickered in his mind. 'Where would he go when he died.' Probably Hel, he wasn't a great warrior like his brother. His daughter would probably welcome him, herself. And still thoughts of the Midgardian girl interrupted him. He could not pass on in peace if he did not see her face, feel her touch and hear her voice, promising safety and love by her side.

Loki walked over to the window of the tree. Letting it's faint green light warm him. He began planning his latest trick. The spell he recently learned, would turn all of the mead at tonight's feast, into water. A chuckle escaped as he pictured the looks on Thor's and Hogun's faces. "I am glad to see my son show happiness after so long." Loki turned to see the door open and Frigga stand in the entrance, smiling. "I was making plans for tonight's feast." Loki admitted. Frigga stepped into the room, closing the door softly behind her. "May I ask what mischief my son plans to unleash?" Loki smirked in his famous way and said, "I prefer the element of surprise." Frigga nodded and turned to look at the scene of Jotenheim. "I am glad, because your father has a surprise for you." Loki immediately became suspicious. Surprises from Odin, did not always end up being something he favoured. "Mother, please tell me what he plans." Frigga smiled at the hint of worry in her son's voice. She walked up to Loki and placed a hand on his cheek. " I promise you, that you will like this surprise very much." He sighed and muttered, "I doubt that." Frigga ignored the comment and began to leave. "Oh, Loki I do believe you should play your trick before your father's announcement and make it subtle. I would hate for him to change his mind." Her warning seemed to echoe in the room as she slipped out and Loki thought over her words. What ever this surprise was, it was with conditions that Loki had to probably abide to. With a resigned sigh, Loki left the needed to perfect his spell before tonight and perhaps Thor had an idea what Odin's surprise was to be.

When it was finally time for the feast, Loki was no closer to knowing anything about the surprise. Thor had been left in the dark as well. It seemed he was completely on his own. The trick went off without any problems and Hogun's reaction of spitting his drink ona maiden's dress, resulting in a slap, was priceless. Thor managed to swallow the unexpected water and glared at the culprit before demanding that his drink be returned to its original state. Loki complied whenOdin questioned what the ruckus was about. It was well past sunset when Odin finally stood and thumped his staff on the floor, gaining everyone's attention and silence. "Tonight, we feast and celebrate another glorious battle. One where my son, Thor has fought bravely." Cheers rang throughout the hall and Loki rolled his eyes, somethings will never change. "But we also celebrate my other son,Loki." At his name Loki turned to see the Allfather's eyes on him. "Loki has changed and learned much in this past year. He had also found love from a Frigga tells me that she has not seen such a love in many years." Loki's heart wrenched at Odin's words. Why would he bring this up in front of everyone. To humiliate him? A glance at his mother smiling told him no. "That is why I am allowing my sons to travel to Midgard. To find this mortal and bring her here. So she may living among us and freely give her love to my son." Loki sat in shock ascheers erupted around him, some banged on the heavy wooden tables until the noise was deafening. Frigga was grinning across the room and Thor thumped Loki on the back in congratulations. Alex could come here. Live here in Asgard. He could be with her, keep her safe and Odin had even given his blessing. Loki smiled at Frigga and gave a grateful nod to Odin. He was starting to like surprises.
