Alright soo I think everyone is just going to graduate all together and have it be done with because it's less complicated and I totally and completely apologize for any confusion that'll occur because of that. I obviously wasn't thinking when I put Emmett and Rosalie in this as seniors and yet had the setting be in Eclipse. I guess my brain went out the window! Anyway, I know you guys want to get on with the story so I'll shut up :)

"My what?!" I turned to face him but he was already back in the living room so I looked to Esme for answers.

She just shrugged, "I don't know. When I opened the door she said she was looking for her mommy. She gave Carlisle the letter, I didn't read it."

I opened it up and hoped to find some answers,

"My dearest Olivia,

This here is your daughter. When you were very young I took some of your genetic material in hopes that she would turn out to be just like you. Unfortunately for me, she is not like you and posses no special gifts of any kind. I did not name her because I thought that perhaps you would like to. I've taught her basic skills and knowledge for you to get you started. Do with her as you wish.

Your beloved friend,

Dax"

"Beloved friend my ass!" Carlisle practically shouted from the living room. His proclamation was followed by Emmett's booming laughter.

Esme smiled a patient smile then bent down to the little girls level, "Is that your mommy?"

She looked up at me and then back down at Esme and nodded.

"What's your name?"

"I don't have a name." The girl said softly, "they said my mommy would name me."

Her voice was so soft and gentle. I couldn't help but melt at how cute she was.

"How old are you?" Esme asked with a smile. I wondered if she was thinking the same thing.

The girl held up three fingers, "This many."

"Awe..." I looked at Esme practically dying. I couldn't believe that something so cute had come from me. Which brought up a whole other question, how did she come from me?

"Mommy," My daughter looked up at me cautiously, "can I have a name please? I really want one."

Tears filled my eyes upon hearing her request and I too kneeled down to her level, "Of course you can baby. Everyone needs a name. Would you like to help mommy pick out your name?"

She nodded happily.

"Okay," I said trying to think of names, "how about Carah? Or Alexandra, or Aubrey..."

"Aubrey!" She cut me off excitedly.

Esme and I laughed at her, "Okay..Aubrey?"

Her head bounced up and down, "Aubrey."

"That's a very pretty name," Esme told her, "what about your middle name?"

Aubrey looked confused, "What's that?"

"It's like a second name. Like my name is Olivia and my middle name is Marie."

She nodded thought I wasn't sure she really understood.

"Isn't that Bella's middle name?" Esme asked.

"Yeah I think so. So lets see...you could be Aubrey Jane, Aubrey Ann, Aubrey Nicole..."

"Aubrey Jane." Aubrey whispered as if testing it out to see how it felt. Then she nodded, "I like it."

"Well Ms. Aubrey, my name is Esme."

Aubrey returned her smile shyly, "Hi."

Carlisle came back into the room and stared at us. He shared a look with Esme who then picked up Aubrey and carried her away, "Come on sweetie, lets go say hi to some other people."

"How," I asked him as soon as she was gone, "how is that possible I can't have kids."

"I knew you'd ask. You can't have children with a human. Because you are half vampire your eggs are stronger, your body is stronger. That's why it was determined that you can't have kids because you can't have kids with humans. Dax probably fertilized them with a vampire. That's the only way I could think of that would allow you to have a child."

I shook my head, "Would he really do that? Why does he need a gift?"

"I wouldn't put it past him but I don't know what he would want them for. I don't know what he's doing with them."

"Well, should we be worried?"

He looked me in the eyes and sighed, "I don't know."

Aubrey seemed to be a hit with nearly everyone around the house. The girls gushed over her, especially Rosalie and Tanya. When I came into the living room Aubrey was sitting on her lap looking around the room at all these people. Her eyes found mine and she smiled at me.

"Hi, mommy."

I walked over and took her off of Rose's lap so I could spend some time with her. She was my daughter after all. I sat down next to Jasper with her and put my arms around her. She was just so little and so perfect. I ran my fingers through her soft blonde hair. Her little head tucked itself under my chin and her feet came up on my legs so she was a little ball in my arms. Jasper reached over and rubbed her cheek.

"Tired baby girl?" He asked her taking her little hand.

She nodded producing a yawn. It was only seven thirty but I supposed she had a long day. Who knew where she came from. If she'd come from France, where Dax was, then there was no doubt that she was tired. Poor thing.

I thought of all the joys having a daughter could bring. Now I had someone to take care of and to love and play with. But with that brought challenges. How on Earth could I possibly afford to take care of a small human being? What would I do with her when I was at school? How could I spend time with her at Charlie's house? Worse yet, how would I explain this to Charlie? It's not like I could tell him that she was created by these mysterious vampires from France that want to kidnap me for some reason. How was I going to do this?

"Maybe Charlie doesn't have to know..." Edward told me.

"Know about what?" Esme asked looking at me.

"Aubrey. I was just thinking about how on Earth I'd be able to explain her to Charlie."

Esme smiled at me, "Well she's always welcome here...I'd have no problem taking care of her during the day. It'd give me something to do."

"Are you sure? I mean she's my daughter and I could probably come up with something...I'd hate to just push her off onto you..."

"I'll gladly take her back to Alaska with me." Tanya offered. I laughed nervously. No offense to her, but I'd rather take my chances with Charlie.

The Denali girls giggled in agreement with their sister.

"Olivia it'd be no trouble to take her. I don't ever have much to do while you guys are at school anyway. Aubrey would give me something to do." Esme told me.

I sighed and looked at my daughter who was half asleep.

Jasper took my hand, "Don't worry about it now, you have plenty of time to decide. But leaving Aubrey here would be a perfect excuse to come visit me more often..."

He winked at me and squeezed my hand. He had a point. I would love to spend more time with him if I could. Besides, Charlie couldn't not let me see my daughter. It was a pretty good idea if I did say so myself. But Jasper was right, I had plenty of time to decide what I was doing before I did it.

"Is it Jaspers?" Emmett whispered. Peter laughed out loud at Emmett's question and I didn't see why it was so funny.

"Jasper? Having a child? Yeah right!" Peter exclaimed.

Jasper looked offended, "What you think I couldn't take care of a kid? You think I'd be a bad parent or somethin'?"

"Are you kidding? You'd be a terrible parent." Peter chuckled.

"You're an asshole Peter. I hate you." Jasper muttered glumly.

"Yeah Peter, you're such a jerkface. Why do people invite you over?" Emmett agreed with Jazzy.

"Hey, shut up man. People think you're stupid too." Peter complained.

"They do not. Rosalie-"

"Don't ask me because I'll say yes." She cut him off.

Emmett's jaw dropped, "What no you don't you're just saying that because I was going to ask."

"Oh no trust me, honey. I think you're an idiot." She giggled looking up at him.

"How could you honestly not see that coming?" Edward asked.

Emmett's face scrunched up in confusion, "What the hell are you talking about you little mind reader?"

"Rosalie says all the time that you're an idiot. How could you not know that she thinks you're an idiot?"

"She doesn't say it all the time," Alice corrected him, "just most of the time."

I giggled, "Isn't that the same thing?"

"No. Obviously, stupid. If she said it all the time then that'd be the only thing she said. Duh." Peter rolled his eyes at me but smirked at the same time so I knew he was kidding.

"Did you just call my girlfriend stupid?" Jasper raised his eyebrows at his idiotic friend.

"Uh..." Peter looked around nervously, "no?"

Emmett began clapping loudly and cheering, "Whoo! Yeah! Great answer, man. Great answer."

"See," Rosalie gestured to her mate, "idiot."

The Denali girls laughed and nodded in agreement.

Carmen looked over at Eleazar, "I could say the same thing about him sometimes."

"Me too." I muttered accidentally getting Tanya's attention.

"You could say the same about Jasper?" She giggled.

"No, I could say the same about Eleazar."

The girls laughed again while the man under fire gave me a weird look, "What'd I ever do to you?"

"You pester her and study here like some specimen in a lab." Jasper answered for me.

I gave Jasper a look but made no effort to correct him. He was partially correct. It was really annoying that Eleazar thought I was some kind of animal and not an actual person, but Jasper didn't have to be quite so blunt either.

"Hey I figured out what you were, didn't I? That was very helpful to you. You said so yourself." He defended himself. Eleazar there also had a point. It was helpful to know what Jasper and I's relationship was called so we could explain it to others and at least try and help them understand.

"Tomorrow we should go shopping and buy Aubrey some new clothes," Alice changed the subject excitedly, "then she'll have some variety in what she wears instead of those plain old clothes."

That was another thing that worried me. How on Earth was I going to be able to afford the things that I needed so I could adequately provide for my daughter? I knew I needed a job, that was obvious, but how was I going to spend time with Aubrey, go to school, and work a job? I felt like my life was caving in on me. All this stress in such a short period of time...usually when teenagers had kids, they had nine months to figure this crap out. I had about nine minutes.

A sigh escaped my lips and I looked down on my little girl. What kind of life would I be able to provide for her? I had no money, no time, and nothing for her. I knew I wanted to give her a better life than I was given. That was pretty obvious when you look at what kind of childhood I had. But it was hard to do anything extravagant when you had no income and little money. At least I wouldn't raise her to be greedy and given everything she could ever want. I wouldn't have the means to do that for her, but that didn't mean that her childhood would be terrible I guess. Maybe she'd grow up decent...if I was lucky.

I felt so terrible. I only had my daughter for about an hour and I already felt like a terrible mother. How could I make sure she was happy? How could I be sure that she had a fun and loving environment to grow up in? Being a parent was hard. One hour and that's what I'd decided.

Jasper nudged me with an evil smirk on his face. I was a little worried when he reached for his pocket. What on Earth did he have in mind?

He pulled out a card and slid it on the couch so only I could see it. It was his credit card.

I sighed, "Jasper..."

"Sh, don't Jasper me. I can help too."

"But, she's not yours. I wouldn't-"

"SH! You're my girlfriend, she's your daughter. She's mine too. I'm helping if I have to come with and personally use it myself. Either way, it's being used."

Aubrey slept with us that night since we didn't have enough bedrooms for her to have her own room. We, Carlisle, Jasper, and I, emptied out her backpack and saw that she had one pair of pajamas, a blanket that she said she'd had forever, an extra pair of socks, and a picture of me. She completely changed herself into her pajamas and showed me proudly how she put on her shirt all by herself. I smiled and praised her trick but I wasn't totally focused on that. Rather I was focused on how skinny she was.

Carlisle looked at me a little concerned, seemingly having noticed the same thing. What did they do to my poor child?

First thing the next morning I got up and showered. Jasper was awake, because he couldn't sleep, but Aubrey was still sleeping next to him. I smiled at the two of them, then dug through my bag. My eyes widened.

I stormed downstairs after throwing my pajamas back on and found the man, "EMMETT CULLEN! I'm going to murder you!"

He laughed not even turning to face me, "You like it?"

"NO! What'd you do with the ones I packed?"

"They're at your house."

The perfectly innocent clothing I'd packed was now at my house and replaced by Emmett's "sexy clothing." Most of it I'd never even seen before.

"Where did you get that stuff?"

Emmett snickered while looking over at Rosalie. "You wanna tell her?"

"Tell me what?" I looked between the two of them getting completely pissed off. I felt my cheeks get hot as the Denali girls came through the back door.

Rosalie just shrugged trying not to laugh, "Go ahead. It was your idea."

My eyes flashed to Emmett's face, "Tell me."

"We got it for you." He laughed. "yesterday when they went shopping."

"What's going on?" Carlisle's voice asked somewhere behind me.

I took a deep breath trying to calm myself down. I had no appropriate clothing now thanks to that idiot. What was I going to wear?!

"Go get them. Now." I told him sincerely frustrated.

"You go get them."

"Emmett."

"What's wrong with your eyes?" He asked all humor gone from his face.

My frustration grew, "Emmett don't change the subject, go get my stuff."

"No seriously! Look in a mirror, your eyes are orange. So is your cheeks."

I looked around for Carlisle and waited for him to tell me Emmett was being a moron.

Instead he walked closer to me and stared into my eyes with a rather concerned look, "What the hell happened to your eyes?"

"They just turned that color! They were green until just now." Emmett said.

"Livi" Jasper called for me as he came downstairs, "why's Livi frustrated?"

He tried to pull me into his arms until Carlisle stopped him, "Don't touch her."

"What do you mean don't touch her? She's mine, I'll touch her when I want."

Carlisle shoved him away and looked at my eyes some more.

Jasper, realizing then that there was something wrong with me, looked at my eyes as well and then looked to Emmett, "What the hell did you do to her?"

"I didn't do anything! They just turned that color!"

"Yeah and you just turned into a vampire. What the hell did you do to my Livi?" Jasper shoved him up against the wall and snarled at him.

I looked at Carlisle and Jasper interchangeably silently asking Carlisle to let me stop Jasper from killing his brother. He nodded and I was over to Jasper with my arms around his waist immediately.

"Jazzy, Emmett didn't do anything to me...well not physically anyway."

"What'd he do to you?"

I touched his hands and showed him what Emmett did to my clothes. When I was done Jasper turned to glare at his brother, "Go fix it before I kill you."

Emmett sighed and sulked out of the room clearly not wanting to fight Jasper but not wanting to go get my clothes either.

"What's wrong with me?" I asked my father after we all calmed down.

He shook his head and looked at me again, "I'm not sure. You don't look any different other than your eyes."

Carlisle took my hand and led me upstairs where he drew some of my blood and felt my head, "You don't feel warm, you don't have any bumps on your head..."

"So what's that mean?"

"Why don't you and Alice go shopping and while you're doing that I'll finish your blood work and see if I find anything. But for now, go have fun and enjoy some time with your daughter. Don't worry I'm sure you're fine."

I nodded and gave him a hug, then I went to find Jasper. When I found him he was in his room sitting on the bed watching Aubrey sleep.

"Emmett fixed your clothing situation." Jasper informed me.

"Thank God." I muttered digging in my back to pick out an outfit for today. After I changed I went downstairs to eat breakfast and by the time I was finished Aubrey was wide awake and bouncing on Jasper's bed.

"Can we go to shopping today mommy? I've never been there before!"

How could I say no, "Of course baby! We just need to get you dressed and fed, then we can go."

"You eat in the morning momma?"

"You don't eat in the morning?"

She shook her head, "I only eat lunch."

My eyes flashed to Jasper, who was looking equally concerned, "Don't you get hungry?"

Her face scrunched up in thought for a few moments before she nodded, "Yeah, but they said I could only have lunch."

I gawked in disbelief and picked her up, holding her to me, "Oh baby, you can have more than lunch. Everybody has to have more than lunch."

No wonder she was so skinny! My poor little baby. God, no matter what kind of life I could give her, it sure had to be better than whatever life she had before.

Since she didn't have an extra pair of clothes in her backpack, she had to wear the same clothes twice. Thankfully Esme washed them the night before. Right off the bat I was proving to be an unorganized mother.

Jasper rode with Alice and I since I still refused to take his credit card. Him and Alice took Aubrey into the store and showed her different clothes that she absolutely marveled at. She tried on many many different outfits that Alice picked out for her and she grinned at every single one. Then she'd spin around in the mirror before ultimately looking to me for my opinion. I couldn't help but smile and tell her how pretty she looked. She was adorable no matter what she wore. She ended up getting a few pairs of jeans, some short and long sleeved shirts, a skirt, three pairs of black leggings, and a tiny little black thing that Alice called a cardigan. At the checkout I pulled out some cash to pay but of course Jasper wouldn't have any of that. He stepped in front of me and swiped his card.

I slapped his arm, "Jasper."

He smirked at me and handed me the bag, "I love you."

Next we went into a shoe store and bought her some tennis shoes, flats, and boots. I was constantly asking her if the shoes hurt her feet but she said no. I didn't want to buy shoes that would hurt her.

Once again I lost the paying game.

After the shoe store we went into a different store and Aubrey tried on some dresses. I lost that paying game too.

"Jasper," I complained after we left, "you said you would help pay, not that you'd pay for everything."

He sighed at me, "Fine. You can pay for Aubrey's things at the next store."

Naturally I was a little suspicious that he agreed so quickly but perhaps he sincerely felt my frustration and decided to let me help.

The next store we went into was a really fancy store that looked more like a room in a castle than a store. I looked around and saw no little girl's clothes at all. It was all fancy adult/teenage clothes.

Alice picked up an order and then we left and went to Scheels which was some sporting store.

Aubrey found a really cute running shirt with little thumb holes that was bring pink in color. It was fun watching her try and figure out how the sleeves worked. She didn't understand that she was only supposed to put her thumbs through the holes. After she tried that on we found some black legging/sporty pants with a pink stripe at the bottom that matched her shirt. We got that for her too.

I pulled out money to pay until Jasper, once again, got in my way.

"You said I could pay at the next store." I reminded him of his agreement.

"Yeah, which was Monica's. But Aubrey didn't find anything there so you didn't get to pay for it." He said with a smirk.

My jaw hung open, "You said-"

"I said you could pay at the next store for Aubrey's things. Aubrey didn't get anything there."

Aubrey giggled at my expression and Jasper picked her up with a grin. He kissed me on the cheek and grabbed the bag of clothes letting Aubrey hold it while he carried her.

We grabbed some pizza at the mall food court, well Aubrey and I ate some pizza Alice and Jasper just sat with us.

Since he'd bought all of Aubrey's clothes so far he let me pay for our lunch with was only ten dollars. Big whoop.

"How you likin' the pizza there little miss Aubrey?" Jasper asked as she picked up her last precut bite and put it in her mouth. She smiled and nodded at him unable to talk with food in her mouth.

"Want me to cut up more for you?" Alice asked.

She shook her head, "I wanna eat it like mommy."

Her little hands picked up the pizza and she took a little bite, getting sauce all over her face since she dug right into the middle instead of eating the side first. Alice shook her head and wiped her face.

"You're supposed to eat the long side first," Jasper pointed to where her next bite should be, "then you don't get it all over your face, silly girl."

I shrugged at her, "Tell him, I'm not the queen. Who said we gotta be fancy?"

Aubrey grinned at me and continued to eat from the middle while Alice looked on with slight horror.

"At least she's wearing old clothes." She whispered still watching my daughter.

After lunch since Aubrey already had a ton of clothes we decided to head back home. Rosalie, Tanya, and Irina looked at every piece of clothing we bought her and commented on it. As they got done with each piece I took the tags and/or packaging off and put the clothes in a pile. I'd have to go home and wash them so she could actually wear them.

I took the pile of clothes and brought them upstairs. I already had some of my own clothes that I wanted to wash so I put them all in my bag and carried it downstairs. Jasper was swinging Aubrey around like an airplane.

"Will you watch her for a few minutes?" I asked him.

His eyes flashed to me and back at Aubrey, "Sure, where ya going?"

"I wanna go home and wash these so she can actually wear them."

Esme came rushing downstairs, "You don't have to go home to wash clothes! Olivia! I thought I taught you better, give them here."

She took my bag full of laundry and carried them downstairs to their laundry room. I followed her protesting all the way, "Esme those are Aubrey's clothes and some of mine! I wouldn't expect you to wash them, please I can do it."

"No, we have a perfectly good washer and dryer right here and I have nothing better to do."

"Esme, your family is here you could go visit with them. Please, at least let me do the actual laundry part even if it's not at my house." I pleaded. I knew she just wanted to help out and I knew she meant well but she made me feel bad doing all this stuff for me.

Her eyes met mine and she sighed, "Fine."

She put the clothes in the washer and walked upstairs without a fight. Smiling I put the soap in the washer and started it. Since she had a fancy washer, it told me exactly how many minutes it would take until it was done. I had 43 left. Since I had 43 minutes until our laundry was done I walked upstairs to spend time with everyone else. The girls were talking as usual, Jasper, Peter, and Emmett were running around with Aubrey, Carlisle, Edward, and Eleazar were discussing some papers on a clipboard that Carlisle had, and Esme was showing Charlotte some paintings on the wall. And me? I just watched. I stood on the outskirts of the living room and took in the wonderful view. People, a family rather, having a good time with one another and enjoying each others ideas and thoughts. So many people with such a different idea of fun and happiness and here they all were conversing and having a good time. It was a perfect picture.

I went upstairs for a few minutes so that I could grab the laptop Carlisle loaned me and write out a letter to my father. His words about relationships made me feel terrible for him and the situation he had ultimately accepted. Never in all my life would I want something that like to happen to anyone, and yet hundreds of people were stuck like Derek. I wished there was a way to get him out of there.

Walking over to Jasper's dresser on the opposite side of the room from the door, I grabbed the laptop and Derek's last letter to me. I heard the door close behind me and I smiled figuring it was Jasper. I was wrong.
