Chapter 21: battle at the lake of rage

Nei:

I threw my pokeball and sent out Pikachu. I thought sending Pikachu was a good idea because they have the natural ability to evade attacks. The gyarados used a strong water attack and Pikachu dodged the attack. I said "Pikachu use thunder bolt" it did damage to the gyarados but it was able to endure the attack.

I could tell the attacks from the gyarados were more powerful but at the same time, I could tell they were more inaccurate too. How could I use this knowledge to my advantage? The gyarados tried to attack using ice fang over and over, freezing the ground it keeps biting while Pikachu knew to evade. I stood back abit and thought to myself "a gyarados with alot of power, no accuracy, so if I were to use thunder wave then thunder of it? Well nothing ventured nothing gained"

I said to Pikachu "use thunder wave" Pikachu used thunder wave on gyarados. This was to paralyse it and hold it still. I continued "now use thunder" Pikachu shot lighting into nearby clouds and made them turn grey. Gyarados couldn't move and looked up at the cloud as a bolt of lightning came crashing down onto it. The force of that attack shook the water and made the gyarados bleed.

Glaceon didn't understand why I was battling the red gyarados when to me it made sense. He stood by my side and watched the battle. Although it was bleeding, it wasn't too deep but the battle couldn't last much longer with a wound that serious. I had to think a wrong move on my part might very well kill Pikachu and I couldn't allow pokemon to die. Glaceon knew that but couldn't help but feel as if I was going to kill gyarados.

The gyarados gathered white light in its mouth and used hyper beam. I was really fortunate that the massive attack missed and hit the side of the mountain. Glaceon was getting worried as Pikachu ran to me. I thought and thought and I came up with a plan I whispered to Pikachu "ok when the time is right, use thunder bolt" Pikachu nodded and went to the far right so any attack from the red gyarados wont hit the town.

The res gyarados was still filled with rage and used surf but this time against me. I wasn't expecting the pokemon to be so enraged that it would attack me like this, this wasn't in my plan. Before I could even react, Glaceon used ice beam to freeze the large amount of water. I looked at Glaceon and he smirked then Pikachu used thunder on gyarados, making it bleed more and crash through the ice panting. Pikachu and Glaceon walked to my side looking at the red gyarados.

I walked to the red gyarados and Glaceon said "be careful, it might be dangerous" gyarados panted and looked at me as I got closer.

I rested my hand on its head and started to heal the wounds the battle with me caused. The red gyarados was confused by my action and I said to Glaceon "yeah well the reason for this fight was to vent out the anger this pokemon had for people. I knew he wouldn't calm down unless it had some way to let it out and let it go" I saw the anger within its eyes slowly but surely fade away and become calmer.

Glaceon smiled and Pikachu went back into its pokeball, happily knowing everything will be ok. The red gyarados looked at my bag and laid still. He nudged my bag and a pokeball fell out, before I could say or do anything he had already been caught by it. Without meaning to I caught a red gyarados.

Glaceon smiled and said "I guess he wanted to be with you, he will be ok. Now lets get to Goldenrod City, I want to head there before Sylveon gets thee before us" I nodded and we walked through Mahogany Town and into Route 42.

Once again, Glaceon froze the lake so we could walk across it. It didn't take long for us to reach Ecruteak City and for Glaceon to feel proud of his accomplishment. I was happy for him and I'm fairly sure I couldn't find a better partner.

Glaceon looked around the city and said to me "we should rest soon, it's getting late and dark. It wouldn't be safe to travel under those conditions" I knew he was right and that he said that because he was worried about my safety, to be honest I was worried about his safety. I nodded with a smile and walked into a nearby inn. The room we went in was really nice and had a pleasant atmosphere to it.

It didn't take long for us to sleep, at 9pm, with me cuddling Glaceon in the bed as he slept soundly through the night. We woke up at about 8am, 2nd of November, and Glaceon was eating his breakfast. I had some breakfast too but it seemed like he was in a rush. Like it was instinct to get to that city.

At about 9:30am we went from Ecruteak to route 37 it was really short and no one was around to challenge me or Glaceon and collected afew berries for the journey ahead. We past route 36 and arrived at the national park. We were surprised that there was such a nice place to visit.

The national park, from a birds eye point of view, was in the shape of a pokeball and a small lake in the centre for all of the water type pokemon to swim and other types to have a drink and cool off. It was surrounded by trees with wild pokemon roaming the area naturally co-existing with the humans that walk by every day. I liked the sight and looking at Glaceon he seemed happy but also sad at the sight of this place, maybe Sylveon was still on his mind and that is when I knew for sure.
