Chapter 21: Chaos Part 1
Every magician around the world fought for their lives and the lives of others as swarms of demons raced through the gate that connected the two different worlds. Leina, paired with Mirajane took on a number of stronger demons that passed through Hell's Gate. It took the two no time at all to slay them and move on to the others that had managed to get pass them through the large mass of weaker ones that rushed through the gate. Master Makarov solely took out more of the demons that rushed through the gate than anyone else as he used his magic to turn into a giant. Lucy, Natsu, Gajeel, Levy, Juvia, Gray, and Erza took out their own large number of demons as they used their magic to the limit in order to stop the demons from getting farther into the city.
As they all fought for the safety of their world and the people in it, no one noticed the presence of a certain magician who had not been present with the recent events. Laxus looked down at his home to see people being transported to a safer place and his guild members fighting off what looked like a swarm of demons. With a snap of his fingers, lightning rained from the dark clouds that formed into the sky, striking a large amount of the demons that passed through the gate in one clean shot. Just as a horned demon was about to land a hit on Wendy while her back was turned Laxus flew right behind her and punched it square in the face with his lightning coating his fist, killing it with one hit.
"Laxus-san!" Wendy exclaimed in surprise as she gave him a big smile.
"Be careful, you'll get hurt if you leave them an opening." Laxus said as he shocked another large another group of demons.
"Hey old man, what the hell is going here?" Laxus asked as he continued to shock demons as he stalked towards his grandfather.
"This isn't the time to be asking questions, Laxus. Right now, we need to get rid of all of these demons while the people get out of the city." Makarov said as he gave him a serious look.
"I know that, I'm asking about all of the rumors about us hiding demons that are threating to take over this world!" Laxus yelled as his anger spiked and his lighting struck the Hell's Gate, leaving a good amount of damage.
"Those rumors are false, we are not housing demons that are trying to take over this world. Right now, as you can see, we're exterminating them. Although, if you're referring to the fact that Leina is a demon then that rumor is partly true, but Leina is the reason why everyone is currently gathering here to fight off the demons. The Magic Council has already heard the story of how she got here and how she was sent here to keep us all safe from these demons. She is not our enemy, she is our ally, and she has always been our ally. So, are you going to help or not?!" Makarov asked as he smashed a group of demons under his hands and looked down at his grandson.
"I've already been helping." Laxus said as he pointed to the charred demons that were scattered all of over the area as the others looked at them both strangely.
"Good job, my grandson." Makarov said as he deactivated his magic and smiled up at him.
"I don't need you to tell me that." Laxus said with a small frown.
"They're retreating." Leina said as the demons hurried back onto the other side of the gate.
"Master another gate has appeared, Cassias is there!" Mirajane said as she ran to him after receiving a call from the Magic Council.
"What? Where?" Makarov asked with a look of astonishment as Leina landed next to him.
"In Era at the Magic Council's main headquarters, it was shielded from everyone's view because of the clouds." Mirajane answered.
"How long has it been there?" Makarov asked.
"They don't know, but they told me that he has some kind of cannon with him. He's been chanting in a foreign language ever since the clouds disappeared. They have him and the gate surrounded with weapons for whatever he plans to do." Mirajane continued.
"Leina, do you know anything about this weapon?" Makarov asked as he turned around to look at her, but when he looked back she was gone.
Everyone gasped as they realized that Leina had disappeared while Mirajane was explaining the situation in Era. Unknowingly to them, Leina had quickly transformed into her most powerful Take-Over and rushed to Era at her fastest speed. As she soured through the skies she hoped within the deepest part of heart that the weapon Mirajane had described was not the one she thought it was.
"Please, please let me get there in time!" Leina sobbed as she raced to Era.
I know that this chapter is kind of short, but this seemed like the best moment to make a cliffhanger and give a little excitement to the next chapter. I hope you all like this chapter and please review.
