"Why?"

It was the question that was on everyone's mind, but it was Kagome who was the one to verbally ask, "For what reason would you possibly want to learn?" She asked curiously, "I thought there were no Asians left except for Mikasa-san."

"It doesn't concern you," Levi drawled, "Do you accept the condition?" He asked, already knowing that she would.

"Sure, I guess," Kagome hummed, "But I hope you are a quick learner. Japanese isn't exactly the easiest language to learn." She said, earning a look from Levi.

"If I can learn German and French within a few months, then I can learn Japanese," He simply said in response, turning to the soldiers who were still gathered around, "If you all have time to twiddle your damn thumbs, then get cleaning." He ordered.

"But, Corporal, didn't we just clean this place a few days ago?" Eren swallowed when he received a harsh glare in return, "All right..." He gave one last look to Kagome before leaving hesitantly with Armin and Mikasa – with the former giving the Priestess one last salute.

"Maybe we can talk later." Petra said in a friendly manner before leaving with the rest of the soldiers to do as Levi ordered.

"We'll see if you can even use the 3D Manoeuvre Gear to begin with," Levi crossed his arms and Kagome noticed the tiny change in his expression, "It will be expected that you will fail."

"Your confidence in me is amazing," Kagome said dryly, earning an eye-roll before she stepped a little closer, "Is your chest hurting? My offer to heal it still stands."

The Corporal snorted, "Later, in a place where there are no prying eyes." He certainly didn't want to do it in a place where everyone could see.

"Ooh~ what are you two whispering about, hmm?" Hange was quick to invade their personal space as she glanced between them with mischievous eyes, "Something that the kiddies shouldn't hear?" She teased with a grin.

"I've just met you people." Kagome pointed out slowly, though Hange chortled when she noticed that the Priestess had a light flush on her cheeks while Levi only gave an even harsher glare.

"Anyways, the first thing you need to do is put this on!" The scientist gestured down to her arms, which Kagome just noticed she was holding an armful of what looked to be a bunch of belts.

"It's a body harness," Levi stated, seeing Kagome's questioning look, "It is a part of the gear."

"So many straps," Kagome murmured, looking away with a deeper flush, "I have to wear them? It looks like something you would see in a bondage scene." She muttered lowly enough so they couldn't hear.

"Tch, just go put them on and meet me back out here," Levi ordered, much to Kagome's surprise, "You hard of hearing, brat?" He asked with irritation when she just stared at him.

"You're teaching me?" Kagome didn't think it would be the Corporal himself who would teach her, especially since he seemed far too impatient to teach anything.

"Erwin's orders," Levi gestured to the blond Commander, who was a little ways away talking quietly with Mike, though he did seem to be paying them some attention as his eyes would flick over towards them, "What are you waiting for?"

Kagome huffed and stuck her tongue out at the man, smirking when he seemed disgusted at the action and turned away, "Is he always so grumpy?" She asked Hange, who was eagerly leading her back to the former headquarters.

"Yep! But Levi will grow on you I bet," Hange laughed, patting Kagome on her head like one would to a favourite pet, "And from what I've already seen, I think you'll be a pro with the 3DM Gear in no time!"

"I hope so," Kagome hid it well, but she was rather nervous that she would miserably fail like Levi said, "Eren already said that it isn't easy to use."

"Well, he is right," Hange looked thoughtful, "It normally takes around three years to perfect, but that is without any former training. After all, from what I hear, Levi got the hang of it very quickly."

"Well, I was taught by the best," Kagome tried to comfort herself with the idea, "And his training was absolute hell." There was no telling how many times she had died and had to be revived by Tenseiga during said training.

Thank the Kami that she was exempt from Tenseiga's only-one-revival rule.

"Well, considering that you only ever had your brother, I'm sure he was very strong in your eyes." Hange smiled, though she was unable to believe that anyone could be stronger than Levi.

Kagome didn't respond and instead looked at her left hand, staring at the blue crescent moon that had been tattooed onto the nail of her middle finger. It was a sign of her loyalty to the House of the Moon and she felt her chest tighten at the thought of Sesshoumaru and that strange dream she had earlier.

Just what had happened between them?
